Tom Brady = David Lee Roth?

It boils down to this: Who would you rather pay to see, David Lee Roth with Van Halen or some poser painfully trying to hang with Eddie Van Halen?
That’s the (brilliant) analogy closet Bucs fan Peter Schrager, co-host of “Good Morning Football,” came up with this morning.
With the NFL schedule set to be released tonight (the Bucs schedule could be published by the team as early as 7:30), Schrager was asked who he would rather see on primetime, the Bucs or the Belicheats?
Schrager rhetorically asked, who would you rather pay to see, the best frontman in American rock history, Roth, or a cringe-worthy Peyton Barber plunge up the middle on fourth-and-six, Cherone?
Schrager replied, give him Roth and the Bucs!
(So by logical extension, does this make Bill Belicheat the NFL’s Eddie Van Halen?)

IMHO, Sammy Hagar ruined Van Halen. He never even came close to David Lee Roth.

Hagar..didn’t ruin VH….he was a replacement when Roth wanted out. It was Hagar or nobody and they had quite a few hits.
Roth was much better though.

I preferred Sammy Hagar over Roth. Hagar was way cooler. David Lee Roth was a clown.

Couldn’t you make the same argument opposite, that the Eddie Van Halen is Tom Brady?
Is this really an important tool to process whether you want to watch the Patriots or the Bucs? Is it that difficult?

Chris – Hagar didn’t ruin them, I agree with 1987, he at least tried to keep the band going. DLR leaving ruined them.

Hopefully Brady cooks with his second “band” as well as DLR did with his (solo). Steve Vai- guitar, Billy Sheehan- bass & Greg Bissonette on the drums. Those cats smoked!
Have you folks heard DLR sing recently? Not pretty! Brady better perform significantly better!
While VH did write some decent & well-developed music with Sammy, VH with DLR WAS modern RnR, in the late ‘70s/ early’80s.

Sammy wasn’t trying to be Dave nobody could fill those shoes. And nobody can take Sammy’s place in Van Halen. Two completely different singers and two different performers which I feel lucky to have seen both of them fronting Van Halen and seen both of there Solo and nobody can replace them. It would be like putting Michael. stope to take Mick Jagger’s place in the Stones noway. Could care less about Tom Brady he was a crook just like his buddy Trump they should have kicked him out during inflate gate. But that’s life.

David Lee Roth of the WWE. Just finished this baby Van Halen is Van Halen no matter who is singing for them and will and always will be the best rock and roll band in Rock and roll history in the world.,The earliet David Lee Roth with Eddie days are too cool and wíll never be compared to, Van Halen are incredible the world was ÑÓT ready for them and they came and took the reins and rocked the world to pieces!!!!! Let’s just say Eddie Van Halen is the world’s latest Motzart…there hasn’t been and will not be ANY another bands to Storm into the world to make history like Van Halen did.
