The New Tom Brady

Yes, Howard Stern is using a bunch of goat sound effects on his famous national show this morning in preparation to interview Bucs superstar quarterback Tom Brady, who no doubt will be asked all kinds of questions about his sex life and more.
It’s Brady’s first sitdown with Stern, who referred to Brady as a dream guest.
So why is Brady, known for being a rather reserved and private (relatively speaking) family man, going on Stern’s show?
It’s a good question.
Joe wonders whether Brady desires to focus more on his celebrity now in order to build his business interests and enhance his transition to life after football.
As a Bucs fan before anything else, Joe has to think about whether that would be a good thing for the team.
Remember, it is the Bucs, not Joe, that have gone public talking about how Brady’s entire approach will raise the game of every single Buccaneer. So if Brady is changing that approach slightly, then it’s fair to wonder if there will be a ripple effect.
Perhaps Brady is feeling liberated now that he’s no longer with the Patriots? But it’s not like Bill Belicheat had a problem with Rob Gronkowski’s various antics.
Joe is not anti-Stern whatsoever. Joe is just trying to keep an objective view of the Brady experience, which will take a different turn later this morning.

It’s a good point, Joe, but as a long time Stern fan and with what’s happening now in the world, I predict that Stern will bring a new side out of Brady that will be good for him and the team. I think it’s important to Brady to prove an independence from Belechick and showing more of himself is a way to get there. I think Brady’s also smart to open up and be real, which is very much the style of Arians. This team will be fun, and I can’t say as great as the Patriots have been that they were ever fun. Excited to see it unfold!

I think the last time I heard an interview by Howard Stern was a few months ago. Prior to that I don’t think I listened to Stern in years. He’s a different guy and an excellent interviewer. This is a good thing.

Cynical as ever regardless of it being offseason and no one being able to do team activities. Why am I surprised this is your angle but no big deal at all for Lavonte David to do local radio though. You say objective when it seems like a petty, Brady has always done radio interviews, if it was wdae it would be no big deal to you, everyone knows he’s almost at the end of his career let the man enjoy it
The simple fact he’s on a new team after 20 years means yea why not do it. Think the glazers would complain about him doing National radio appearance?

Joe you are clearly not a Stern fan. He had matured over the years. He is the best there is at interviews. It was revealed on the show that Brady is a Stern fan so I am sure this is why he is going on. The interview will be excellent no doubt.

You are clearly wrong.
The apex of Stern’s show was when he had Jackie the Jokeman and Billy West and at least once a week, Stuttering John was on the prowl.
That period of Stern was so far away ahead of everybody else on radio that the medium was virtually a waste of electricity compared to Stern.

Geez, stern is unlistenable now. I just can’t listen to him anymore. I only listen to Sternthology. Hollywood Howie needs to retire ASAP!

Bucsfan – He is actually better than ever these days. He is a more mature yet still a very funny radio personality. I will say the show has taken a hit with the show being done remotely. Haven’t been able to listen to the interview yet, but if it isn’t going well that may be more on Brady’s part. Most of Stern’s interviews are considered epic these days. He gets his guests undivided attention for an extended period and they are well researched and thought provoking questions he ask for the most part. If you still want him talking to strippers and lesbians, than you’re right, he is washed up. If you want a smart guy that cracks jokes and does excellent interviews than he is your guy.

I agree, Joe. I’ll never forget when Stuttering John asked Charlton Heston if he thought Ronald Reagan still remembers who he is and when he asked Billy Crystal if there will be a Mr. Saturday Night II.

BRady will now throw 30 interceptions in 2020 because he appeared on the Howard Stern show.
It’s his chance to give people something of interest and to convey his viewpoints. I’m not a Brady fan like many but this is a non-issue for the locker room.
