Official All-Decade Honors For Ndamukong Suh, Tom Brady; Blows For Gerald McCoy & Lavonte David

April 6th, 2020

The ballots of important football scribes were counted and the heralded All-Decade team (of the 2010’s) was announced today by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman did a strong job with his ballot, including Lavonte David in the mix, but he was not in the majority.

Bucs defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh got the honor over Gerald McCoy. The four defensive tackles named are: Geno Atkins, Fletcher Cox, Aaron Donald and Suh, per the Hall.

Suh started all 142 career regular season games he has played in, totaling 478 tackles (107 for loss), 56.0 sacks, 32 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one interception. Since entering the NFL, his 107 tackles for loss are fifth-most and his 166 quarterback hits rank seventh. He is third among defensive tackles in sacks (56.0) in that time. Suh has been selected to five Pro Bowls and been named first-team All-Pro three times.

Somewhere, McCoy is feeling underappreciated.

On the linebacker front, the nods went to Chandler Jones, Luke Kuechly, Khalil Mack, Von Miller, Bobby Wagner and seven-time Pro Bowler Patrick Willis. One could argue David has better numbers than Willis, and that’s happening on Twitter, but playing in eight playoff games and being a heralded first-round pick in a big market certainly led Willis to the esteemed honor.

Tom Brady, of course, made the team on the offensive side of the ball, as did his former teammate and ex-Bucs left guard Logan Mankins.

Not-good-enough-for-Lovie-Smith cornerback Darrelle Revis also made the squad with Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman at the position.

Tyrann Mathieu and Chris Harris, Jr., were chosen under the defensive backs category used for versatile DBs not picked as cornerbacks or safeties. Somewhere, Aqib Talib is pissed.

ITS SO CUTE THAT YOU PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT FOOTBALL IN 2020 LIKE THERE WILL BE A SEASON, LMAO, TOO FUNNY, VERY COMICAL, JUST SHOWS HOW LONELY PEOPLE ARE

  2. Tbbucs3 Says:

2018 Browns Bucs on NFL Network

    Observations so far
    – Winston looks good and thin (Look a lot heavier last season)
    – Ronald Jones looked very slow
    – Djax could care less

  3. gotbbucs Says:

McCoy shouldn’t have a gripe. His defenses were awful, and they were HIS defense’s. He propped himself up as the leader, and with that assumed the heat.
Same type of leader as Winston, big mouth with little substance coming out. As disturbing as the “eating W’s” scene was, so too was the endless shots of McCoy yucking it up on the sidelines down by 30 points.

  4. Bird Says:

    Harold

    You are a troll
Just leave . This is a new name anyway or did you change former name

You just posted same thing in last article
Yah. It sucks to have hope . People will need something positive in a few months.

Way to use the word “cute” for a grown man
    😂

  5. WestChap Says:

GMC has no gripe given those picked ahead of him.

Lavonte is just cursed to have played 4-3 OLB and 3-4 ILB in the same period as Wagner and Kuechly. This is just a continuation of the Pro Bowl snubs albeit from a different group of voters. I’ve never understood how he ranks below Kuechly on the field… and assume he’s being penalized for his poor teams and quiet personality.

  6. Swampbuc Says:

Gerald was a good player. Not a great player.

  7. lambchop Says:

    @WestChap,

I don’t recall Kuechly being a loud player. I really don’t understand how the Carolina market can get Luke Kuechly considered in this list and they won’t even consider Lavonte David. I think the main culprit is being a decades long loser here in Tampa.

Let’s hope Tom Brady can bring some recognition to all of our players.

  8. Bucsfanman Says:

Harold- What does it say about you to come to a Bucs team fans’ site and post about what people are talking about?! You know….the BUCS!
    SMH!

Anyway, we shouldn’t be surprised by perceived “snubs” when we haven’t even strung back to back winning seasons in this decade.

  9. Bucsfanman Says:

“Gerald was a good player. Not a great player.”

    Well said Swampbuc!

  10. lambchop Says:

A little off topic, but do any of you agree that Ronde Barber would be in the HOF if he made a splash play in the Super Bowl? I mean the guy had iced the Eagles in the NFC Championship game and had a great career, but these frauds can’t give him his due?

  11. DBS Says:

Harold so lonely you have to go troll the internet to get attention. Sad.

  12. Steven007 Says:

Bird, ironically Harold uses cute in the same way and context that Uber troll trollmax does. Coincidence?

  13. Pewter Power Says:

My guess is they are avoiding putting players on the list that have never knows winning can’t say your the leader of a team that can’t win

  14. Steven007 Says:

DBS, and all caps too. You’d think he was the president.

  15. Bucsfanman Says:

lambchop- It may take him a try or two but, there’s no way that he can be left out of the HOF discussion. Frankly, I can’t imagine any bigger moment for the franchise than curb-stomping those Eggles.

“Ronde Barber will take it to the house…..,” Gene Deckerhoff!

  16. Based weeb Says:

Harold is literally yelling at us for escaping from daily stress and life with football lol. I hope he realizes how pathetic that is

  17. Wesley Says:

I hate these stupid popularity lists.

  18. ZZbuc Says:

I am with you Wesley 100%…..So ridiculous!!!

  19. stpetebucsfan Says:

An internet maxim for all to consider. Don’t feed the trolls. They crave attention responding to them just feeds their craving and then they win.

Richard Sherman is a guy who fascinates me…after that rant during an on field interview I was sour on him.

Upon seeing him interviewed not all jacked I realized he’s actually very intelligent. He is perhaps the least gifted physically of his peers on this team but he played hard and very smart and that crazed attitude we saw in the post game interview was probably a difference maker.

My point is that Sherman while a great player was not a great talent. If our three guys can emulate him we’re good to go…our guys have long arms and length and run well….now if they can get as smart and crazy as Sherman…look out.

  20. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Old Harold probably makes it right through without going to moderation.

  21. Brad Says:

There’s a certain safety on that list who is currently available and wants to play. Get the man a physical(when possible) and get him in to camp, see what he has left. At very worst he has something to prove and would be good for the “room”

  22. kyle Says:

Harold, how about act like a grown up and learn proper online etiquette. No one wants to see your all caps posts.

  23. DoooshLaRue Says:

Ah now shucks fellas…… Gummie93 is only in it to have fun right?

  24. Admiral Redbeard Says:

Haven’t seen tmaxipad in a while. Could harold be tmaxipads new name?

  25. Go Bucs 72 Says:

McCrybaby is soft. Suh has clearly always been the better player….unless you are a Tampa media writer.

  26. Steven007 Says:

Redbeard, I actually mockingly suggested that on another thread. I don’t think it’s true though. As annoying as trollmax can be, he is at least mildly entertaining in a short bus kind of way. This does not describe Harold at all.

  27. Eastsidebuc Says:

Maaaaaannnn! These edge rushers are NOT linebackers! I hate that for Lavonte, bruh is a baller!!!

  28. sincethebeginning Says:

LVD got jobbed plain and simple. GMC? Nah. Those guys at I didn’t *should* be ahead of him.

It’s a shame Russell Wilson and Drew Brees can’t find a way onto the quarterback list, since they’ve got more than two guys at a lot of positions; you’d think they could do more than two guys at quarterback. Doesn’t make much sense.

  29. D-Rome Says:

I don’t have an issue with the selections. McCoy and David are deserving of being on that list but with so few selections one has to question who you’d knock off.

I blame the Buccaneers organization for being a horribly run one before I blame McCoy or David for not being good enough to make these lists.

  30. Dom>Licht Says:

Just shows that only BUCS fans think we have great players! We’ve had some real good ones NOT great the last 10 years! Sorta like America … no one else even considers him a starter yet he was a HOFamer to 1/2 the fans

  31. Anglican Says:

Geraldine McFraud ? That’s funny stuff right there. Thanks for the laugh during these trying times!

  32. Adrnagy Says:

    Right on the money. David.

    Negotiation transcripts
TAMPA Hi, we’re the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the VAST majority of our roster cannot even spell ‘Buccaneers’ We haven’t even heard of a playoff game since 2007 and haven’t won a playoff game since 2002. So Tom, what do you think?
BRADY “You DO realize I’m gonna be 43 when the season starts, right?”
TAMPA It’s not about you, it’s about ticket sales.
    BRADY Will the check clear?
    TAMPA. “Probably”
BRADY Can I get some help on the O-line?
TAMPA Nope, we spent our last dime on you.
BRADY: Ok, let’s do this…Hail Mary, full of grace…

  33. westernbuc Says:

Tbbucs3- Jameis played terrible that week. He almost blew that game and got bailed out by the rest of the team. If I recall correctly, his meltdown against the Bengals was a week later. That’s when I was done with him.

Neither Suh nor McCoy were never great players. Suh is all personality. If Suh wasn’t high profile, it’s a coin flip between the two of them.

Lavonte absolutely got snubbed. His stats are equivalent to all of those guys. Von Miller and Mack are both wildly overrated.

I’d argue Mike Evans got snubbed too.

  34. ©MadMax Says:

Great pic of Big Suh….the real #93!

  35. Matt Says:

Maybe if Betaboy McCoy didn’t jump offsides over and over and over and over and over and over again and get man-handled on run plays over and over and over and over and over and over again he could possibly be considered good. His sacks were all meaningless and he acted like a spoiled rich kid from day 1. If we would have chosen Suh out of the draft instead of Betaboy we would be a perennial contender for the playoffs already.

Whenever it is that we resume play, you will not even recognize this team. With Brady In the building there’s going to be a level of calm focus and preparedness that we haven’t seen in over a decade. Another year of Suh and Vea!! Can you imagine if we get Kinlaw or Becton? Or Isaiah Wynn? We need big imposing players with an attitude so Tom Brady can get the most out of them.

One more thing no one is mentioning is how Brady will keep the defense pass rushers honest. How many times did Winston try to draw the other team offsides with a hard snap count?! None that I can remember! It would be great to get a cheap 10 yards every game. Those pass rushers are rhythm guys you have to keep them guessing to get them off their rhythms. Our Oline is actually pretty solid we just have to put them in opportunities to succeed and Tom Brady will do that.

  36. WestChap Says:

@lambchop I didn’t mean to imply Kuechly was loud… rather he is both beloved (charismatic, friendly, open with media) and sympathetic (concussions, emotional heartbreak at being forced out of the game). Lavonte doesn’t appear to have any where near that level of connection to the national media. All being said though, I agree that primary reason is the underperforming Buc teams have detracted from how the league (players and media) views him.
