What will be fascinating for Joe is how a guy like new Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, who excelled in all facets of football with the possible exception of mobility, fits into Bruce Arians’ no-risk-it; no-biscuit mentality.
Brady was never a quarterback who took many risks. He just got the job done. And won. A lot.
So today, the Bucs’ signal-caller was asked about adapting to Arians’ throw-caution-to-the-wind style.
Brady seems to have a solution that would satisfy his style with Arians’ desires.

“I paid attention to he and his offense for a long time,”: Brady said of Arians. “Everyone has different styles and philosophies in how they call things.
“Football to me is about throwing to the guy who is open. If he is open deep that’s where you throw it. If he’s open short, you throw it there. If he is open outside you throw it there. If he’s open inside, that’s where you throw it. You get the ball to the guy who can do something with it.”
And Brady remarked several times how the Bucs are loaded with “really talented” weapons on offense.
Oh, for those who are lying awake at night wondering what, if anything, will become of Chris Godwin’s No. 12, Brady was asked about that as an element of a two-part question. He didn’t respond to the uniform number query.

What makes you believe Tom Brady will be successful here in Tampa ?
After 20yrs in the patriots system he’s a virgin right now …
learn new system. New receivers. New coaches.
New everything. AfteR 20yrs.
One thing for sure hands down , the way he’s approaching this new learning curve he’s handle with total respect and humbleness.

No doubt that is going to be a challenge. Especially when you factor in, as of this writing, Joe seriously doubts there will be any OTAs.
Going to have to learn everything on the fly.

Ughhh. This “will Tom fit into BA no riskst no bisket?” is the second most annoying thing I hear about every day. A head coach that is named “QB Whisper” and the best best QB of all time are together with a leathy receiving corps.
I think the two can come up with something.

Let’s not forget, Brady had no one, I mean no one to throw to last year. TB is a QB’s dream, especially if we can get a good running game going. Praying we draft a couple of offensive lineman and a pass catching RB.

I have managed sales staffs and businesses my whole adult life. You come across people that have that “thing”. Smart managers leave them alone to work their magic. No OTAs no problem…. They find a way. That’s what Brady has. He finds a way.

@AlabamaBucsFan: Brady had Julian Edelman last season, who caught 100 balls for over 1100 yards.
They also had Sanu and Dorsett.
The Bucs top 2 are better, but to say Brady had no talent is not exactly correct.

*laugh* ..he didn’t just fall off the applecart. If there’s any QB that can get it done with so many road blocks to start with, it’s Tom Terrific. He will be more prepared than say Jameis, if Jameis just signed. I think that’s why other teams were hesitant to bring Jameis in as their starter, plus it wouldn’t really be fair to Jameis either. It will be like the Vikings throwing Freeman to the wolves after just signing with them. That wasn’t exactly fair to Freeman and he was judged harshly on that one game.

7-9 with JW30/30 and losing eight games by less than seven points??? Still pray we can just make it back to the playoffs but we could seriously be a dominant force and win a SB in Tampa 2021.

if anything, a shortened training period would benefit a veteran like AMERICAS QUARTERBACK, MR TOM BRADY.
Just as he said, he goes to who’s open, which means reading a defense before the snap and/or adjusting vs. forcing to 2 stud WR’s.
This O will be scary, and a shortened season would be on our side, provided the WR’s and such do their homework. You can bet they’ll have playbooks in hand and know what hash marks to turn on and where exactly the ball will be before they even snap it.
Brady to his weapons……each play, you be here, you be here, you be here and you be here…….it aint rocket science, we’ve just had a moron at QB for so long it seems like it is!

brady learning a new system after 20years is like the baby boomers learning how to use a smart phone….lol….
family member tells mom/dad time to upgrade and the boomers get scared…they dont need a smart phone, their flip phone works just fine…put up a little fight….
but once they open the book, and turn it on, the wheels start turning….lol…that phone revitalized them….lol….
family member comes back the next day and mom/dad has all these apps downloaded, a facebook page, thousands of photos and can even teach you a thing or two about siri….lol…..
it wont be as challenging as you think….
and every team will have to go thru the offseason without OTAs not just the bucs….i wouldnt be surprised if the players put together their own type of OTAs…..
imo, it’ll take brady and the offense the first month of the season to find their groove and timing….defense will carry us….
we’ll be good….the thing that folks fail to realize is that everyone inside OBP believes they can win it all in 2020…..
players/staff/FO didnt feel this way with JW….

Who is going to be the 3rd man on the WR depth chart? As time continues to pass by, you must assume the cost of Perriman is going down. But even if they resign Perriman, they need to draft someone high. They can’t be in a situation like last year where you lose Godwin and Evans for 3 games, and even after Perriman stepped up, you have teams just double him and there was nothing but complete trash on the team behind him.
That was the brilliance of Adam Humphries. He was 4th on the WR depth chart, and at #4 he was a problem for other teams. At #3 or god forbid #2 on the depth chart, he can’t get open. Anywho, the Bucs should see if Hump is available for trade, like we’ll give you a 5th if the Titans eat half his salary. Sounds like a deal to me.

Cancelled Olympics, NCAA tournament, Spring training. No opening dates for baseball, OTAs, etc., etc. Vaccine in a year – -maybe. What makes you guys think there will be a shortened season?
Brady WILL take the Bucs to the playoffs. I predict that the Bucs will load up and be breathing fire in time for the 2021 season. Unfortunately, not until then.

It is funny. You would think the only thing that Bruce Arians said in all of his 45 years of coaching football is no risk-it no-biscuit.
If you read Arian’s book, he does like arm strength and really does likes a pocket passer over a running quarterback.
He also has said (besides no risk-it, no-biscuit):
Throwing accuracy is the most important physical attribute. He thinks it’s easily identifiable on college tape and difficult to teach thereafter.
and an actual quote from his book:
“Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would never be described as fleet-of-foot speedsters,” Arians wrote. “But they can move a step or two and then be extremely accurate with their throws even if they aren’t perfectly balanced.”

TBBF agree completely and I would take it a step farther…he sees the open receiver before he’s even open because after twenty years he can read D’s and knows their weaknesses.
This virus is a beotch and we’ve all been inconvenienced. boo hoo. Some people have died!!! The ultimate inconvenience eh?
We’ll suck it up and soldier on. My nephew who works in Manhattan and lives on Wall St has it…almost over it now..he’s in his mid 30’s and the thing that amazed him was getting breathless in the walk from the bathroom to his sofa. Those of you who have seen how tiny NYC apts are realize what that means.
So…let’s have Brady have his “Junction Boys” out to Montana. It could be done very safely within CDC guidelines once we get tests. Small groups on private jets could all be tested. And how great would it be to get away from everything but football for them…no distractions at all!

What’s the over/under on pick sixes TB12 throws next year and interceptions overall?
My guess is 25 TDS and 10 picks, throwing for 4,000 yards. The key will be the running game and we haven’t had one for YEARS! Need to shore up RT and then draft a back in the 2nd. Go Bucs
ps Perriman was just signed so it’s going to be Scotty Miller in the slot. little speedy white guy – Tom is going to love him. He better work on his hands this offseason!

SappAttack I agree with your stats guess for Brady this year but we don’t need a running back in the second round when we can get Boston College’s Big Back in the third round nor do we have to rely on Scotty, who is not durable enough to last this season, as our deep threat and we don’t have to use a high pick to get the sleeper burner WR in this draft. Take a look at Trevon Grimes who at the combine ran as well as Perriman did in the 40 yard dash. Grimes was a 5 star recruit after starring for St. Thomas Acquinas HS helping them win two State Championships in football and he was a track star there too and was ranked one of the top WRs in the USA. He played for both Ohio State and the Gators. He is 6’5” and over 200 lbs., and very durable, and has better hands than Perriman. He will be a late pick only because he did not get any thousand yard seasons since the Gators were loaded with top WRs and a great TE and threw to all of them.
