Reasons For Quiet On The Brady Front
March 17th, 2020One rarely discussed rule of the NFL’s free agency “tampering” period is an important component of Tom Brady negotiations, Joe believes, especially when you consider Brady’s history with the NFL and Bucco Bruce Arians’ propensity to speak candidly.
During the tampering window, players cannot negotiate with teams directly. Only their representatives are able to handle that for them.
So just imagine how Roger Goodell might react if, say, a Brady deal was announced today and then later Arians tells reporters how excited he was on Day 1 of tampering to get on a Skype call with Brady and Team Glazer and hash out what Brady needed in his relationship with the Bucs, etc.
The fines from the NFL would come rolling in fast and furious.
Also, if Brady himself wants to talk directly to Team Glazer to see what he’s dealing with and gauge their commitment to Arians, then it very well could be Brady who’s waiting for a legal Wednesday chat with them and other owners of teams desiring his services.
Heck, Joe would have a lot to ask mysterious Team Glazer and Chargers ownership, for example, if Joe were in Brady’s shoes.
So the Brady quiet isn’t surprising. And it’s not like Brady is obsessed with or hurting for money and in a mad rush to take a good offer like so many other free agents are.

March 17th, 2020 at 8:25 am

March 17th, 2020 at 8:28 am
TAMPA TOM! make it happen babyyy…random thought i saw someone say Melvin Gordon was not a talented RB lol i believe that may have been a fake burner account from Peyton Barber
March 17th, 2020 at 8:28 am
the perfect storm, tampa resigning, jpp, tagging barrett, picking up brady in FA, resigning suh, draft a qb let him learn from the goat, draft a running back, o-lineman or two, edge rusher all this = playoffs, primetime games, sold out stadium, respectability i can only pray, hey joe have you heard anything about suh?
March 17th, 2020 at 8:29 am
Jameis will be back. Ballin! Check ya sheet!
NO RISK IT NO BISCUIT 2020!
March 17th, 2020 at 8:33 am
Remember the good old days when spies would be hanging out at airports waiting for a player or agent to be spotted?
March 17th, 2020 at 8:33 am
Sign Jameis.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:33 am
Why would Brady pick this loser franchise?????
no reason….he don’t wanna tank his legacy by coming here……no way
March 17th, 2020 at 8:34 am
Brady isn’t coming to Tampa smh it’s Jameis
March 17th, 2020 at 8:34 am
We don’t need Brady he is to old, we need to sign Winston with a prove it deal
March 17th, 2020 at 8:36 am
Don’t sign a player Bill Bellichick let’s go
March 17th, 2020 at 8:36 am
Also consider that Brady was technically under contract until today. He had two years that voided as of this morning.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:39 am
Work out a regular contract with Shaq immediately…..
Have the tag available for Winston
The odds are that Brady will stay in NE & Winston will stay in Tampa….
March 17th, 2020 at 8:39 am
Jameis will get a 2 year deal like JPP’s contract.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:40 am
Zero chance Brady is here. Any hype/interest is to drive price up in NE.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:43 am
That’s fine. But it’s gotta happen today, or Tom’s screwing a lot of organizations and Teddy Bridgewater. You had all offseason to decide.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:49 am
A question I have not seen addressed so correct me if I’m wrong. But if (when) Brady comes on as QB and GM, any part of his salary could count as front office and not against the cap?
March 17th, 2020 at 8:49 am
If TB is coming to Tampa and a deal was worked out there is still a lot that must happen before its announced.
1) Jersey number ( currently held by CG )
2) Getting Tampa gear to him
3) remote press conference
Also just in look at Brady’s Tweet
March 17th, 2020 at 8:49 am
He’s leaving!
March 17th, 2020 at 8:50 am
Come on down!!
March 17th, 2020 at 8:51 am
Brady just tweeted his Goodbyes to the Patriots!
March 17th, 2020 at 8:51 am
Brady gonna be a buc; he is out of NE
March 17th, 2020 at 8:51 am
@JOE….see Tom Brady INstagram
March 17th, 2020 at 8:52 am
HE JUST ANNOUNCED ON TWITTER HE IS OUT OF PATS
March 17th, 2020 at 8:52 am
I’m thinking Jameis will be back. Brady is just using the Bucs and Chargers as a bargaining tool and that deal isn’t happening. My guess is that the Glazers will give Jameis a one or two year deal with no guaranteed money. Then they will draft a QB.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:52 am
Brady just tweeted goodbye to the Pats
March 17th, 2020 at 8:52 am
Chris S what does Brady care if he is screwing up any organization besides the one where he is signing? What does he owe Bridgewater?
March 17th, 2020 at 8:53 am
Fans who don’t care if the bucs win the division want Winston back >> WHY ?? Do you want your team to stay a bottom feeder?
March 17th, 2020 at 8:53 am
I thought BA said he had everything handled and the goat was begging to kill his winning legacy by finishing his storied career on the worst franchise in all of professional sports. All the goats love ending their careers with no hope in a jerry Springer circus like atmosphere that is the Buccaneers organization…..
Get that ditka Rickey Williams photo ready Joseph the glazer losers once again were used and left holding thier junk at the altar
March 17th, 2020 at 8:54 am
TB12 in TB… I’ve been saying it for weeks. Furthermore, and you can take it to the bank, he will be at least co-GM and will throw to OBJ.
March 17th, 2020 at 8:59 am
As much as I dont want brady. I wouldnt be surprised if Randy Moss training partner and buddy of ME13 isnt saying hey that guy can ball. We all also know Moss and brady still talk.
March 17th, 2020 at 9:00 am
if brady comes here, thats proof we have what it takes to win now and we had it last year too….
we just didnt have the QB….
GO BUCS!!!!
March 17th, 2020 at 9:02 am
Some of yall gonna be crying in a few hours. He not coming to Tampa…
March 17th, 2020 at 9:05 am
I don’t know if it is Tampa but for sure he is not going back to New England.
March 17th, 2020 at 9:07 am
Somehow it got caught…post my comment before 8:49am. Thanks.

March 17th, 2020 at 8:28 am
TAMPA TOM! make it happen babyyy…random thought i saw someone say Melvin Gordon was not a talented RB lol i believe that may have been a fake burner account from Peyton Barber
____________
Gordon has five years in the league and exactly ONE season where he averaged at least FOUR yards per carry. You guys wanna ding Barber for his lousy yards parry then you have to do the same with Gordon. Way overrated.
March 17th, 2020 at 9:20 am
Whatever happens in Tampa, it just seems to be at least the Glazers are making a run at trying to make the playoffs and hopefully a Super Bowl. But the main thing is make the Bucs respectable again and their efforts to get Brady weather he sign or not, and bringing in B Arians I think will put more people in the seats and more money in the Glazers pockets
March 17th, 2020 at 9:30 am
I say no to Gordon & Bridgewater. Would rather have JW back than Bridgewater. Way overrated, as is Gordon. Plenty of good RB’s in draft.
March 17th, 2020 at 9:37 am
James West gets it.
March 17th, 2020 at 9:47 am
Bridgewater and Gordon will be Bucs…at least Bridgewater for sure.
March 17th, 2020 at 11:05 am
I’m on, your bank failed.
March 17th, 2020 at 11:23 am
LA has got to be a huge draw. Brady even described himself as “a California kid” in his farewell tweet to NE. LAC have defense, RB and WRs.
Our hopes are resting on Bruce, ME/Godwin and the fact Tampa is hosting the SB… c’mon Tom, dare to dream. Chargers are just retirement light.
