Odd Choice For Jameis

March 10th, 2020

Joe wrote earlier about America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, having a video produced — and just released — that showcases his rehabilitation from offseason knee surgery.

While mauling oranges and a four-egg omelette, Joe is trying to figure out why Jameis’ team would inject his knee surgery into the national conversation about himself with free agency just a week away.

What might an owner of a NFL team think after watching that, an owner considering making Jameis the face of the franchise?

Is Jameis trying to let fans and the NFL world know he’s hurt, in order to explain a lack of interest in him on the open market?

Joe has no idea and is trying to figure out the logic of it all. There’s no heroic finish in the video featuring Jameis running and cutting and looking 100 percent healthy. So it’s not like it’s some sort of showcase of his health.

Would Jameis pass a team physical now?

This is all very interesting, and none of it surprises Joe considering how the Jameis camp has made a lot of puzzling and inept moves over many years.

he has no interest from any team, there’s the reason….he’s desperate

  2. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

I’m guessing sane joe grabbed the ol typewriter for this article. He does seem to have very dumb management. Say he Jameis moves to LA or ChiRaq, the sports talk shows will eat this video up once he tosses that 3rd int for a pick 6 in the 2nd game of the year. Jameis needs a drew rosenhaus in his corner and go nuclear on the offensive not this crap

  3. FactTeller Says:

Just a few more weeks till Jaboo is resigned and all these pointless articles can cease

  4. Ndog Says:

See this is the kind of ridiculous article I fully expect from the national media. I mean it clearly shows different timeframes and him doing some stuff right after the surgery and some stuff recently that shows he’s perfectly fine now. Plus there have been other videos posted, yesterday in fact, that show him doing plenty of things a perfectly healthy football player can/would do while working out. More trashing of Jameis, so now I see that this site is fully on board the trash Jameis train like the rest of lemmings out there.

Sad sad state of affairs that people will go to any lengths to find something negative to write/say.

  5. Conte Piscateli Says:

Stop for a moment and please let me know what sort of things he has done that have made sense. I doubt this was something his agent put together. More likely just an attention starved kid trying to get views on his social media pages

  6. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Ndog

Be thankful…… you got to see fresh Nuthugger porn of your hero.
    He’s soooooooo dreamy!

You tell them NDOGG!!! We won’t stand for this bs journalism. Fight the man ✊🏼 Fight the power ✊🏼

    NDOGG FOR PREZ 2020 YALL!!!

  8. Kingfish Says:

Why did Jameis have glasses on in part of the video ? I thought he had LASIK done?

  9. Anonymous Says:

PR and self-awareness were never Winston’s strong suits.

  10. Mr. Reality Says:

Just like his henchmen out there in the past…like the book that props him up with uneven, bogus, and selective stats, my guess is he hopes this will get him sympathy or undue consideration. That is, he hopes it will be provoke (unjustified) thought that somehow he has been hurt and now that he’s getting better, he won’t be the turnover machine he always has been (long before this very minor and probably insignificant knee injury). He hasn’t gotten brain surgery, so I don’t personally expect better decision making on or off the field. And I don’t think those who would be charged with paying him $$$ are fooled either.

Like Harvey Weinstein in the walker on the way to court…BS optics.

    Say he Jameis moves ChiRaq.

    =============

Can we just drop the name “ChiRaq” already? As someone who has lived in Chicago for 20 years now, it’s not that bad. I routinely travel into “unsafe” areas for work, and I don’t worry about my safety at all. It only appears bad on a national level because it’s a big well-known city that receives a lot of publicity (both good and bad). Sure, we have a reasonably high murder rate, but when you look at the population of the city, the per-capita rate is lower than a lot of other “dangerous” cities like Detroit, St. Louis, and Philly.

  13. Robert Says:

he’s an idiot, and always has been. 20 mill skills .20 cent brains/awareness

  14. Craig Says:

It looks like his agent is trying to create a PR media buzz. Maybe to try burying the Jameis audition year.

That was an unmitigated disaster, so why not follow it with another. I almost feel sorry for Jameis, he needs to find some way to make himself look like something other than a bonehead.

It might be too late, though. Maybe a stint in the CFL can put some time and distance from those last two games.

  15. SteelStudBuc Says:

    But he believes in God!

  16. Robert Says:

    it’s called KARMA……

  17. #1 Pick QB 2 Cent Brain Says:

Still waiting to hear a team who is eager to sign him…

  18. IAMHIM Says:

    I think Joe be reaching..

  19. Pewter power Says:

So your saying injury is the reason he’d have no interest lol nothing to do with interceptions at all. I guess you think will go on this grand Kirk cousins like tour because if not for injury he would be so coveted

  20. Troy Says:

The more I look at this, the more I hope the Bucs resign Winston if the number is right in both money and years. Draft Eason and let him push Jameis a bit.

  21. Sport Says:

NDog don’t be too invested in this. This site, nor anyone on it is making a decision on JW that matters.

With that being said, there would have been a very high likelihood that JW would have already been resigned (and happily so for many) by now, IF he showed similar scheme improvement as Palmer did in AZ. He didn’t clearly show that and it’s a totally crazy QB FA market.

Will you feel better if they do retain him and he plays similar next year? Then we’d be saddled with his guaranteed money and more prolific stats good and bad. Unless the Defense plays perfect, his turnovers will cost us a few games.

Then you’d have to defend a very overpaid QB that is who he is.

    In BA I Trust!

  22. geno711 Says:

I gotta admit I enjoyed seeing it. The care that he gets compared to what an average person might get after surgeries.

I think he is tough. Not sure if this helps or hurts him. I think that his game film and past acts are what he is judged on for other teams that might be considering him.

  23. gotbbucs Says:

Dude had scar tissue cleaned up in his knee, right? A knee scope?

Big deal. They’re acting like this guy tore his ACL and had reconstructive surgery. Tons of players in the NFL end up having multiple knee scopes and dont bother to video tape the recovery. It’s a PR move to let whatever secret market that there is out there for him know that he is “strong back/weak mind” ready to go.
He’s a clown, his handlers are clowns, it’s a clown show.

  24. tmaxcon Says:

Funny all you classy good character men acting like 2 year olds with your mad jealousy and hatred over jameis. So pathetic. This franchise and fanbase was a joke long before jameis arrived and will be a joke long after he’s gone. When you are fans of the proud owners of the worst winning percentage in NFL history you ahould show some humility and class but that is a trait the bay area has never been known for…. crackheads, strip joints and poorly educated workforce is tbe staple of the bay

  25. Kenny Says:

Any team looking to sign Jameis would do a physical on him anyways…. This is basic stuff, Joe. There is nothing to hide.

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

Arians wants shaq to get paid. He says Shaq has earned it. Bucs will pay him. Yes, they have thought about and are still rethinking the QB situation. But in the end, They franchise Jameis for one more year. They are gonna give him another RB and a O lineman. So he won’t have to throw as much. Arians has said he wants to improve our running game 2-fold.

  27. Cgmaster27 Says:

@gotbucs it was a partially torn meniscus clown. You wouldnt even get out of bed with that, let alone play behind the bucs offensive line. I love internet tough guys like you, youre hysterical with your bravado.

  28. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Matthew no one cares when people talk about “Florida Man” so embrace ChiRaq as the murder capital of America, I mean al capone has an entire holiday about murder in chicago

  29. WestChap Says:

Video seems pretty straightforward in intent… even the title “The Return” tells you the purpose is to tell teams don’t sweat my scope, I’m doing what have to do to keep ballin. No news here, except…

His doc has a Drew Brees jersey on the wall! Maybe he intentionally botched the clean out to thwart the Bucs… or maybe JW really is going to back up Brees for a year and take over the Saints? NO is pretty darn close to his Alabama home.

  30. Ndog Says:

Sport, Carson Palmer threw 4 picks in his second to last game of his first season under Arains. Sound familiar?

The difference is no one cared because his TEAM still won. Facts are important fellas remember that.

  31. buc53 Says:

    ugh–this isn’t an article, it’s trolling conjecture.

  32. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @ndog

That was against the best defense in the league at that time 7 seasons ago!!!!!!!!!! Jay-lose did that multiple times against avg teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LOL!!!!!!!!!! Nice try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Jaywill Says:

Any team that wants to sign Winston wouldn’t make it public.

  34. WyldKat Says:

The only logical conclusion is both sides of this are incompetent.

  35. This Guy Says:

    1. Any publicity is good publicity.
    2. The Key to getting paid in FA is to have a buzz about you, so create it if you must.
    3. Talking to several people (with connections around the NFL), I have not heard any JW chatter to other teams. (doesn’t mean there is no interest, just the 5-6 people I know haven’t heard anything)

Jameis and his camp are aware of this and they want to get paid, it is just part of the game. Until the CBA and Tags are done, everything is rumor and speculation.

  36. BucEmUp Says:

Posting it to show he played with a bun leg, a broken hand in top of everything else.Jameos.needs to stay here. With the defense playing the way that it did its a no brainer look at the upside

  37. BucEmUp Says:

Ndog eveeyone loves to avoid admitting that its a team sport and that the only qb capable of wining under the same circumstamces would maybe be mahomes and thats a big maybe as bad as this team has been

  38. Bucsalltheway Says:

Clearly a proof of the pain he endured while passing for 5k….that is to squash any doubt. It’s his warrior film to show through his rehab that if you willing to take a chance he’ll work for you hurt.fierce competitor and game changer for better or for worst. Jameis will be the guy…joebucsfan is just not convinced yet.

  39. Jab3 Says:

America’s Quaterback, Pro Bowler, Jameis Winston*

Flush the turd already. End this charade. Move on!

  41. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Man the nut huggers are our in full force today.

  42. BucsFIRE Says:

^ You seem to have an unnatural obsession with “nut hugging”.
To each their own, I guess.

  43. firethecannons Says:

The picture Joe used for this article–tells a story. How about we keep Jameis and upgrade the O–line (replacing Dotson and Donovan Smith) and get a really decent running back too, that might be a better option than dumping jameis and spending way too much on Bridgewater or a first round on a qb. So many options, Jameis can be reigned in with play calling and running the ball more.

  44. Patrickbucs Says:

    Firethecannons:

How do you expect to upgrade both tackle spots in one offseason in reality? Dotson of course can be replaced and upgraded, Smith please explain? A 1st round tackle doesn’t mean he will be better, plus we have to eat some cap cash if we cut Smith, not happening imo. He had a pretty good year, think we have bigger issues and more important resigning. If you are plugging a free agent in there then also other teams have a chance at the Tennessee prodigy..

  45. Bobby M. Says:

He’s not a guy to try to make sense of.

  46. jjbucfan Says:

Patrick Bucs- Trent Williams for Donovan- straight up??
