Bucs Officially Suggest A Uniform Change Is Coming

Yes, the Buccaneers’ uniforms make them a laughing stock more than the kind Greg Schiano referred to years ago.
They’re bad and, rather than admit it and pay whatever it took to change it quickly, the Bucs have been promoting these crimes against innocent fans since 2014.
Joe remembers the day the current uniforms were revealed. Joe panned them on these pages, which prompted a frustrated phone call from someone high up on the food chain at One Buc Palace. It was rather ballsy from the dude. Joe simply asked the guy, “Are you asking Joe to pretend to like the uniforms?”
The response was a plea to give the uniforms a chance.
And here we are.
Today, the Bucs sent out a cryptic video that multiple times highlights newspaper headlines (old and recent) about new uniforms. You can watch it below.

Joe suspects if new uniforms are coming, they are already ready to roll. And if a new team slogan is being worked on, Joe certainly hopes the Bucs marketing department, whose effectiveness rivals the team’s rushing attack, seeks real-world feedback to see if the slogan(s) connects with fans. Joe would be happy to gather volunteers to participate in a focus group.

This is great news. The team took a perfectly good uniform in 2014 and changed our attire us league-wide (national? international?) laughing stocks.

Question is..will the ownership’s hand in offseason moves needed aggressively, support/mimic the new mantra coming in 2020 along with new uniforms??! Something like “bold new era”. Something along those lines, and emphasizing no more Winston.

Thank god…I collect jerseys I have over 75 authentic jerseys. I have 9 authentic from the Bucs my favorite team. From D. williams to Brooks pro bowl jersey in 2000, to a very old Dilfer starter jersey, S. Rice, Sapp, E. Rhett and a few more. I never bought a single one of these since they came out in 2014. Too ugly fornthe price. Now ill wait and find a brand new one my size 56 for 20.00 on ebay and keep it for posterity. Good riddance

I never hated the red aways or red color rush from the current designs, but the white looked awful. Our home, white uniforms are top 3 worst in the NFL. I collect jerseys and I couldn’t do it. Excited to have a new scheme to collect! Hope we nail it this time

Pretty sure the logo remains the same. It would cost a fortune to have the logo replaced all over the stadium and One Buc Place. Its not happening again after they just did it 6 years ago.
My prediction – uniforms go back to 1997-2013 basic type style. Current logo stays the same. But with a white helmet so the Bucs can use their throwbacks and still stick to the one helmet rule.

Yes! Can only hope the paperwork was filed in 2018 and it’s been quietly in the works for some time. If not, it’ll take a while before they can make a change as the NFL has a lengthy approval process. Regardless, this is long overdue. I can’t wait!!

I actually I don’t hate the current Jerseys that much as I actually like the White ones and the Helmets aren’t bad but the logo is too big and there’s still too much going on.
But I hope a change happens because the Bucs need a symbol for a fresh start entering the new decade as our current Jerseys only remind me of losing, kickers, free agent busts and Bad defense.
From Josh Mccown to Mike Jenkins/Tim Jennings and coaches with the last name of “Smith”. The last 6 years of Bucs football was Brutal.

Tye, I think what some are saying is that they were craving a white version of the current helmet (with current logo)…. so that we could once again occasionally wear the creamsicles (on a throwback day), and the helmet color would still match.
I can understand that.
But I think I would still keep the helmet the same, with just slightly smaller logo.

facts:
ok we are def not going back to the orange unis…
however, we will almost definitely have the ability to honor our creamsicle past with the new unis (mainly the helmets)…
so we can have a throwback game once or twice a year…
i prefer an orange and pewter uni with red accenting, but we most likely don’t go that route because then youve gotta change everything – and that will cost mad loot…
they’re definitely not ripping out 65k seats at ray jay to replace them with orange ones…
to honor both old version uniforms we should go with an orange and pewter mixeroo…
but that won’t happen…
we will get a uni tweaking…
the clock numbers will be gone…maybe we’ll lose those stupid looking shoulder colors like the xlf now has…and we might go to a white helmet, so to swap out logos for bucco bruce on throwback day…
i think we have pretty much the best helmets in the nfl right now
a lot goes into play here…
but, this uni change is most likely a tweaking for throwback day ability, and to improve jersey sales…

I just hope they leave the helmets alone as in my opinion they are the best in the league bar none. We are the only team in the league with pewter helmets, why would we want to have white when so many other teams have them?
Cardinals, Colts, Bills, Charges and Dolphins all wear white helmets I want our Bucs to be unique.

a white helmet just simply wouldn’t work with the superbowl uniform premise…
it will be a shame to lose our current helmet – it’s the best in the league (yes you can shrink the flag a drop)…
but i just can’t see how white helmets will look better in any way with a remake of the superbowl unis…

Posted this elsewhere but thought I’d share it here: Greg Auman found an article over at Bucs Life Media from April 2019 stating new uniforms were coming this season. Not sure how everyone missed it, but it was a really short article, so… Interesting tidbit from it though: “According to our source, Ed Glazer had his hand in the designing of the current uniforms, and this time around, it also said by our insider that he did not have his hand in this new design.” LOL
