Ex-Patriots Player Sees Brady In Tampa

Two former NFL players and a retired head coach gathered around and discussed the future of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.
One was former Panthers, Broncos and Bears skipper John Fox, a longtime friend of JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman.
Fox was sitting in an ESPN studio with former Patriots guard Damien Woody and longtime NFL backup QB Tim Hasselbeck.
To sum up the chatter, Fox believes Jameis not only will return to the Bucs next season, but he will cut his interception total down to 10. Unfortunately, Fox didn’t dive into why he feels that way. But it’s especially interesting to Joe considering Fox coached against Jameis and and his background is on defense.
Hasselbeck thinks the Chargers could be a landing spot for Jameis as a starter if the Bucs move on, and he thinks it could be the only starting job available to him.
Woody played five seasons with the Patriots and won a couple of Super Bowls with Tom Brady, so it intrigued to Joe to hear Woody think Tampa with Bucco Bruce Arians is the best fit for Brady if he moves on.
Joe’s fine with the Bucs signing Brady and drafting a quarterback. There’s a lot of potential upside to that, and it sure would be fun.
Of course, Joe’s also fine with the Bucs slapping the franchise tag on Jameis and letting the team’s supposedly elite coaching staff find a way to stop Jameis from being the league’s most efficient turnover machine.

I want to see Brady win one more ring and surpass Michael Jordan’s six championships. To me, it’s MJ, Brady and Gretzky as the most modern day super stars. Tiger woods too, perhaps?

Either sign Jamies or tank for Lawrence if the Bucs want to move on to a rookie QB.
The Bucs could load up on 2021 draft capital and have tons of cap space in 2021 by trading away some of their best players and picks this year. The likely result is they would land the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck by having the worst record in the NFL next year.

Bryan Glazer recently said that he wants the Bucs to be the very first NFL team to play in the Superbowl the year that they host it and would do what they could to make that happen.
So why not give it a run with the G.O.A.T. ?
He’s been there many times so he knows what it takes to get there.
I personally don’t see him leaving the Patriots, but if he did, and came here, it sure would be fun

Don’t see why ppl keep saying Brady to Tampa. Brady can not/does not throw the ball down field no more. He barely did it last year. Check the stats. Slowly starting to believe its going to be Jameis back at the helm next year.

I just don’t see Tom Brady choosing to play in Tampa. He will probably stay in New England for one maybe two more seasons and he is done. I don’t think New England fans would ever forgive the Patriots if they let Tom Brady play in a Buccaneer uniform. I just done see it.

bruce of course was in aisle 11 grabbing chips and dips…
andrew was holding a jar of orange tang and a bag of crab legs…
when bruce caught up to him he accidentally said “jameis there you are, i’ve been looking for you”…

Brady is not coming here. (I wish, just being realistic). If Jameis starts all 16 games for us in 2020 and throws 10 or less picks, I will dye my hair pink for the entire 2021 football season. I would be ecstatic to do it too, since starting all over at qb is a pain, but I don’t see it happening.

in 2018 Brady won a SB because Dee Ford doesn’t know the line up scrimmage and his defense gave up 3 points to the Rams.
In 2019 Brady lost his last home game and blew a BYE because he threw a pick 6 and in his next game threw another pick 6 and lost the first playoff game.
Yeh he’ll win the SB with the Bucs. (sarcasm)

Joe, I hope Jameis is back with the Bucs to give it a shot for at least one more year, and I get that the coaching staff needs to help him improve with the picks, but at the end of the day, he has the ball and he is the one making the decision, its on him more than anyone to knock off the poor decision making, particularly those “gimmes” thrown outside that turn in to pick sixes. All Jameis. He is the one that needs to fix it.

A FA QB and a rookie QB and a veteran Safety, that’s all we need. That and the guts to lose a lot next year, that would be worth it if we built both lines and keep improving on D.
You can get to a SB with A Garropalo or a Mahomes. We don’t have either.

I have been all for signing Jameis Winston to one year to give him one more year in this offense and with this coaching staff. If that doesn’t work, do whatever you can draft Trevor Lawrence.

I would like to see us sign Tom Brady to a two year contract. Then sign Jameis to a team friendly contract for his first two years or franchise him for the next two years. Hopefully with Brady on the team some of our free agents would take less to be on a contender. But this will never happen

I don’t think there’s any way in he!! Tom Brady wants to play here. It’s stupid to talk about it. I’m not blindly defending Jameis but I do think he’s our best option right now. He deserves another year in BA’s system and I do believe we draft a QB this year. I’m also willing to bet I’ve been a fan and season ticket holder longer than both of you and I’m sick of giving up on QB’s too early and watching them have success somewhere else. One more year is all I’m saying.

If Brady wants to play here, you sign him. I understand your belief in this year will be better, but I differ and believe Turnovers will always be an issue. With so much emphasis on winning football games and a successful turnover margin, we will be in great shape.
Our defense had 28 takeaways last year. Good enough for fifth most. But, Jameis gave it away.
Other than BA and his track record with QBs makes you want Jameis back more than door # 2?
I want to try something new. And I don’t know what being a season ticket holder has anything to do with being a fan? I don’t doubt your fanship, and you shouldn’t look down on others for not buying season tickets. besides, how’s the last decade been?

As far as Season Tickets, there are a lot of people who may not be able to afford them, or may have family obligations that makes it impossible.
They are quite capable of being some of the biggest BUCS fans that you could ever find on the planet.
All that being said, I definitely applaud your being a Season Ticket holder, and appreciate you being there pounding that drum when others of us may not have been able to.

Being a season ticket holder has everything to do with being a fan. You have to really love this team to take the time, effort, and spend a whole lot of money to see this team in person. I understand it’s easier to watch the games at home but to me, that’s what away games are for. My point is that I’ve seen and yes suffered through it all. What’s behind door #2? That’s probably your life philosophy. I just don’t think the grass is greener on the other side.

It does not have EVERYTHING to do with being fan, if there are medical reasons or financial reasons with family members that make it impossible to do. Again, I applaud your being there, and am appreciative of it. That’s why I said it and meant it. But please do not look down your nose and say that those who are unable for legitimate reasons are not fans.

Pats will probably draft Love at end of first round. Brady will stay for a year and mentor him, then probably become QB coach up there.

I heard Bill Polian say earlier today that if the Bucs don’t tag him, JayMiss is finished as a starter in this league.
The feeling is that if Arians passes on JayMiss, it’s the death knell for JayMiss’ career as an NFL starter. He might find a job as a backup on a prove it contract.

^^ Bill Polian has a great track record as a GM, but he did say also that Lamar Jackson should switch to WR.
I do think that he makes a good point though that were would be some alarm around the league with other GM’s if Arians were to “give up” on Jameis.

After seeing another mock draft where we trade back into the 1st round at the end to draft a QB (Jordan Love via CBS) Brady would be a must have. Jordan Love is not NFL ready and would need two full years to learn the game.

At the end of the day I believe Jameis is tagged. I’m not excited about, nor will I be disappointed. We all the the potential he has. Just hope he can some how some way keep ballin, but bring those turnovers down. 30/15 td/int rate would mean playoffs. Well as long as we bring back our edge rushers. Funny how getting after the passer, running the football when needed, and limiting turnovers is still the formula to winning yet it seems we always can’t put all three together in a season.

There’s been a lot of “if’s” this offseason regarding Winston. My major concern with franchising him is, what “if” in game 1 the Bucs are tied or down by a score or less with under two minutes and Winston throws a pick 6 (very possible) and the Bucs lose. What do they do at that point, that’s the real question. You going to bench a 27 million dollar QB after game 1, or how long does it go on for. When will other player begin to shut down on and give up because the QB isn’t being held accountable

Very little chance , Brady knows dam well Bruce doesn’t protect the QB in his offense and Brady also knows he is a huge product of max protect schemes and a quick passing game . Have a hard time seeing Brady overlooking this

Joe should prefer Brady+draft pick over Winston. A lot more eyeballs are going to want to visit this site to read about the Brady, and debate whom to draft, than to hear the same old same old with Winston.
