Dominik: No More Cash For Jameis

December 30th, 2019

Wage freeze on Jameis.

Former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik isn’t exactly saying Tampa Bay should wave goodbye to Jameis. But Dominik has strong advice to his successor, current Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.

Dominik said he wouldn’t give Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, one more red cent to play for the Bucs in 2020.

In the season just ended, Jameis earned just a hair south of $21 million dollars. Dominik took to Twitter after Jameis lost the game in overtime on his signature play — a pick-six — and said that he would tell Jameis he’s getting paid the same amount next season. And he should love it or hit the pavement.

Now Joe believes the Bucs have leverage on Jameis but not that much leverage. What exactly would the Bucs do if Jameis’ camp calls Licht’s bluff? They’d likely find someone to pay Jameis more than $21 million (Bears? Cowboys?) and the Bucs would be stuck with Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin.

Oh gee, swell!

What complicates this is if you listen to the next edition of the internationally popular Ira Kaufman Podcast, Uncle Ira details a conversation he had Sunday on the field of the Den of Depression with oily Drew Rosenhaus, Shaq Barrett’s agent. Rosenhaus is drooling at the chance to get Shaq, a free agent and the new Bucs sack king, on the open market.

Dudes who get 19-plus sacks in a season aren’t exactly walking around a biergarten in South Tampa like hot chicks on a summer weekend day at the Undertow on St. Pete Beach. If Shaq gets on the open market, he is going to command serious coin.

It smells to Joe like the Bucs will have to use that franchise tag on Shaq, which is what Joe has suggested all along. And now, after yesterday’s game, the Bucs have leverage to sign Jameis without the tag.

But not enough to squeeze Jameis for less than $21 million.

Dominik’s demand makes for good sports radio fodder but he knows a move like this very likely would blow up in Licht’s face.

And who loses on a stunt like that? Everybody who cares about the Bucs.

  1. SmoothBayRider Says:

At this point , what coach is gonna risk their career thinking they can fix Jameis if Bruce Arians couldn’t ? I don’t think there is one , but then again , all it takes is one .

  2. james west Says:

i have had enough of sameis jameis winsome

  3. ClodHopper Says:

Shaq has more leverage against the Bucs than Jameis does. We can live without 30 picks but we can’t live without almost 20 sacks.

  4. Pete I Says:

Neither Chicago nor Dallas will pay more money for Winston.

Sorry but Tampa gets to celebrate Winston’s record setting accomplishments by over paying him.

Still having the only member of the 30-30 club is unique and should be honored and preserved.

I still think Joe just doesn’t get what a major deal Winston’s record setting performance is, the national media gets it.

A parade down Dale Mabry should be set up…asap!

  5. D-Rome Says:

Cowboys would never sign Jameis. They would sooner retain Dak Prescott. The Bears and Chargers would be viable options. He can feel free to continue his losing ways for another team as far as I’m concerned. This team is very close to being a team that can make a deep playoff run but Jay-Miss holds the team back.

  6. Pete I Says:

Los Angeles Chargers need to build a fan base in LA, Winston, despite his record setting season, does not seem the guy to build a fan base. Just the opposite I would wager.

  7. Craig Says:

Most of the world has no way to trust Jameis, he is too practiced at giving games away. You can not have a winning season when your QB gives away games.

Let Jameis and his agent see what they can find, if he comes back with his tail between his legs set up an honest competition at QB.

We need something to put some heart back into this franchise. Paying Jameis will not do it.

  8. Tackleblockwin Says:

No way Cowboys would be interested in Jameis. Dak had 30 TD and fewer picks than Winston this season.

  9. Tye Says:

Lack of ball security makes their little market for his services… Winners are not going to want that headache on their team!!! Just reality..

  10. Pewter power Says:

True logic and basically that’s how the fanbase feels. Bring him back I can understand that if you cant find a better option or draft one but there is no reason to give him 10 million more than he made the year before embarrassing himself on the last play of 2019

  11. NYbucsfan Says:

I would no give him 21 million!!! He stinks Lee, he has lost as many games in the last two minutes as he has won. 30 interceptions that’s 30!!!! If that doesn’t bother you Lee, stop reporting on football because you have no idea what you are talking about. Top three in passing yards are watching the playoffs from home so I don’t give a crap about 5,000 yards.

  12. zzbuc Says:

This is probably the first time in many many years I agree with Dominick…….
YOu can´t pay a big check to a guy who turns the ball over again and again and again. We all know and undesrtand the goods…..But the bads are very bad…..

  13. Jerry Says:

Ya Dallas has a better QB than we do, Dak isn’t going to leave the Cowboys. Furthermore I don’t see Chicago or San Diego ponying up the big bucks to sign Jameis either. He’s definitely played himself out of big bucks, guy loves the pressure huh?

  14. Tye Says:

Redskins and Maybe Chargers because of despiration…

  15. thisisouryear!! Says:

I went on Wikipedia last night to see how many int’s Jameis threw at FSU and all I saw was his rap sheet. Accused rape, theft, yelling vulgarities, the uber incident.

His numbers are inflated because of Evans and Godwin, just like Manziel’s were. Please bring in a new QB that buc fans don’t have to compromise their moral standards to cheer for the team!!

  16. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Sorry,

But with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans on this offense

    …..ANY QB would look awesome

    DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LET JAMEIS WALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Cobraboy Says:

He is not worth even the $21 million.

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I cannot stand Mark Dominik………but he’s right except the price

I think that Jameis will get $25 from the BUCS

Jameis wants $30 mil and the BUCs want him at $21 Mil…………..they’ll happily split the difference at $25 mil for four years………..with a 15 miliion signing bonus……..

$115 million for four years if he BUCS wheel n deal with Jameis

  19. Joe Says:

Please bring in a new QB that buc fans don’t have to compromise their moral standards to cheer for the team!!

Yes, because Joe understands when he prepares to go to a football game, Joe makes sure to bring in a rosary and a bible.

  20. thisisouryear!! Says:

That’s a lot better than putting America’s crotch grabber on the face of the savior Joe.

  21. Bobby Says:

With a good QB I think we’re ready to win now. If they can work a trade with a team and get Tua I would be down for that. We could pkg Howard and some future picks. I’m normally not a fan of this but desperate times calls for desperate measures.

  22. Marine Buc Says:

I want to see what FA QBs will be available before I would sign Winston to any deal. Put the transition tag on him and let other teams give him their offers. If we let him go we get two first round picks.

  23. Bobby Says:

    Either that or get Bridgewater.

  24. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Folks…..we have a QB controversy!!!

  25. Killian Says:

Any chance Dak tests Free Agency?

  26. Stevebobucsfan Says:

I think the Bucs pay Barrett. I think they franchise Jameis, draft a QB in the second round, develop that QB and then take it from there. If Jameis turn into a pro bowl QB then they use the other QB as trade capital or keep him on hand in case Jameis go back to his old ways. If Jameis is the same the first 5 or 6 games then you you to the new QB

  27. Silent_Partner Says:

Lots of teams looking this off-season, so the Bucs have no leverage. Chargers, Bears, Colts, Jaguars also looking with a weak rookie class coming in, and that’s just off the top of my head. They’d better try to negotiate a 4 year deal at $29 mil a year and call it a day.

You can talk about all of the picks, but Arians had Manning throwing 28 in his system his rookie year too. It’s a risky offense. Not everybody can execute it, and even fewer can play in it. Winston can. That’s a big elephant in the room if you think you can get random other starter or a rookie to groom to do so. They just set franchise records for scoring, which would only get better if you develop a running game. Lock him up and then work on Barret and Pier-Paul. B. A. knows this. He ain’t dumb.

  28. Silent_Partner Says:

    TheBucsAnthem,

Keep believing that. Just like you couldn’t lose Rudy, right? Those guys are studs, but you underestimate who is pulling the trigger to them and making them look good too. Ask Perriman. He’s played with quite a few QBs including a Super Bowl winner. Guy looked like a legit first round pick the last month after the others went down.

  29. Jonny Says:

After watching back to back games of a pick ending our come from behind chances, I am again hoping the leadership considers other options or worst case, franchise tags Jameis. He is a very willing thrower, Mr. Entertainment, but the amnesia he talks about in allowing him to come back is a dual edged sword. Being able to push the ball downfield and being careful at the same time is an art he doesn’t have the capacity to master since he shakes off his mistakes so easily. It may have worked decades back. But it won’t now.

  30. firethecannons Says:

There is no controversy here, kindly respond with, thankyou Jameis for the hard work, going forward, we will be going in a different direction. You can leave your key to OBP in your locker on the way out.
    Simple as that…

  31. adam from ny Says:

    5 years 25 mil per

  32. Posey99 Says:

“And who loses on a stunt like that? Everybody who cares about the Bucs.”

Maybe one of the best years for free agent quarterbacks is coming this off season. Also some good ones coming in the draft. Dominick has a valid point. You’re overvaluing Winston because he has fancy meaningless stats. We need to put fans in the seats or you wont have a team to write about in a few years.

  33. PhillyBuc Says:

4 of the top 5 QBs in passing yards this year are sitting at home for the playoffs and 5 of the top 5 in Ints are also on their couch. It’s simple, you don’t take care of the ball you lose. Jamies lost what little leverage he had in the last 2 games. Can’t imagine anyone giving up $30mm for him. Need to sign our defense 1st, cut Gay and trade OJ. And yes I’ll go with Gabbert if that’s all we have

  34. Greg Says:

The only team to give him over 20 million is a team that thinks he is the answer at starter. What team is that stupid besides Jason Light? When you have a 5 year record of creating as many turnovers (INTs and fumbles) as touchdowns with all the weapons we have. Your just not a winner!!!

  35. BrianBucs Says:

Winston has proven absolutely nothing in 5 years with the Bucs other than he can give the ball away likes it’s leftover fruitcake and cost the team games.
No way I would give him 21 Million , and no other GM in the league will either.
Time for the Bucs to move on.

  36. Sharthappens Says:

Let’s all just be glad that the clown show is out of here. His stats are padded due to all of his turnovers that resulted in playing from behind. Check out PFF stats in this loser. He had another 40 times this year in which a ball should have been intercepted or fumble should have been lost that we recovered. FORTY. WOW.

  37. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Greg

You do realize there’s a shortage of starting QBs this coming off season that has put up the numbers Jameis has, right?

Listen……I want the BUCS to let Jameis walk….

But Jameis absolutely has alot of leverage….but the only question is…..what team will bite and take that sorta risk?????

  38. Buc4evr Says:

After yesterday I’m not sure I’d even franchise tag Jameis. He will never improve; we can decide to move on early and find a better option or endure another year of stupid play and losses. He should be at the bottom of the list as far as re-signings.

  39. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Clueless Joe has no idea what he’s talking about as always

Better QBs who you can win with will be available

So your trying to tell me a smarter qb could not use two pro bowl receivers a good offensive coach like Arians to raise their game?

Stop writing and go stalk Rachel Watson you loser

  40. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    LOL ^^^^^^^

Joe acts like Rachel Watson is “Cindy Crawford” in her prime

  41. Licht Headed Says:

Buc fans: the most ignorant fan base in the country. Jameis will get minimum $30M, 3 years. Bucs won’t draft a QB with at least first 3 picks. Franchising him means paying close to $40M thereafter. Cutting Winston loose means at least a 4-5 year rebuild and of course he will ho on to win a SB with his new team. Arians and Licht will re-sign him.

  42. TheBucsAnthem Says:

NO WAY JAMEIS GETS 30 MILLION yearly ^^^^^^^

    …..no freaking way!!!!!!

  43. BFFL Says:

No team thinking lets make JW our starter.

  44. Boltsfan17 Says:

Winston is known as a turnover machine by the entire league. Will some team be dumb enough to pay him big money? Probably, it’s been done before.

Let him walk. Get Cam or Rivers with an improving defense and resign Barrett.

Oh, audition a 100 kickers for Gay’s job while you’re at it.

  45. John.L Says:

TheBucsAnthem, you’re the typical FSU D-Bag!! 4 years 115 million that would be a big mistake…

  46. PRBucFan Says:

    That logic is flawed

That would make sense if he had not also had amazing pros this season as well. Pros that put him in the record books. Pros which give him leverage too and assurance he’ll get paid more.

So sorry Dom. There’s a reason you don’t GM anymore.

  47. Waterboy Says:

Transition tag Jameis to gauge his market value and if a team is willing to overpay him then match their offer to sign him and then trade him to them for a draft pick.

  48. gotbbucs Says:

I don’t care if he wants to play for free. He’s going to play the same way whether he’s being paid $21 million a year or $15 per hour. Did any of those 5000 yards equal a winning season? No. Did those 32 TD’s equal a winning season? No. Did those 30 INT’s have a huge hand in another losing season? Absolutely.
So why is this a discussion? His style of QB play does not win consistently
in the NFL. That is an absolute fact. You could have a 2000 yard rusher on your team and he’s still going to throw passes like he did to end the last two games, as well as the openning posession picks that he loves to throw. A top 5 defense won’t stop those throws either.

This is an idiotic discussion. After this season, nobody in that locker room will be sad to see him go.

  49. Tony1775 Says:

GM will sign him to save face. Need to save first round pick for GM to draft a kicker. Third time a charm? Maybe have to draft 2 more quarterbacks before he figures it out as well.

  50. PRBucFan Says:

I’ve conceded to the idea of keeping Winston. His ceiling is too high to not take a chance on him.

Hell atleast we get exciting football every week 😂

He is way better than josh Freeman ever was, I was wrong in dubbing him Freeman 2.0.

That’s not to say I don’t still hate the dumb picks but I’ve accepted its part of his game. For now I wanna see what he does in year 2 of Arians system.

  51. ATLBuc Says:

I think the best thing to do is give Jameis an inventive laden contract. Start out with a base salary of $5 mill and give one million for each touchdown and take away one million for each interception with a minimum of 5 million and a cap of 30 million

  52. reply Says:

Franchise TAG?! How about we PAY Shaq his friggin money and ditch this SOB QB who seems to enjoy throwing GAME CHANGING INTERCEPTIONS!!!!

    Shaq actually deserves the money!!

  53. PRBucFan Says:

    Oooooooooo

Good idea, maybe if his $ is tied to the picks he’ll be forced to use more awareness.

    I like

  54. Mister Negative Nancy Says:

But is this garbage fun to watch? At least somebody different instead of yet another year of the SOS…

  55. Posey99 Says:

Exciting football doesn’t sell seats, folks. Winning football does though

  56. PRBucFan Says:

True but no one here can honestly say that if he even eliminates half of his mistakes it wouldn’t equate to winning football. I mean how many games were lost at the very end. He gets better at the picks and we are golden.

He deserves another year in this system.

I think him making the 30/30 will force him mentally, subconsciously even, to be more aware of his picks. I don’t think he wants that to be his legacy. He’s too competitive for that.

  57. WyldKat Says:

No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There’s always a boom tomorrow… Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM!

  58. Silent_Partner Says:

He’s black Brett Favre. If GB ran him out of town, their management would have been crucified. So you need to embrace it. Accept it. He can throw you out of a game, but he just set every record in your franchise’s history, and he wasn’t far off from doing it before with clueless Koetter coaching him before. Bucs were the most exciting team in the league because even when he turned it over or the rest of the team did or the defense was giving up long bombs to anyone with a pulse, he was still attacking with the mentality Arians also has. Few Qbs can do that. Ask Raider fans. Ask Ram fans with Goff who fell apart without a running game. Ask even Philly fans who have been griping about their guys. Like I said, better lock him up and hope he takes $29 mil a year and then move onto locking up your pass rushers.

  59. LordCornelius Says:

I duno wtf to think of him anymore.

It’s like when the team around him plays well he craps the bed. The last 2 weeks he has shown that even with a great defense he still turns it over just as bad as if we were down 21-0 in the 2nd quarter.

It’s confusing. it’s like he excells when we are in shoot outs, and doesn’t know how to manage the game outside of that situation. Hence the stats being gaudy but hte W:L being sketchy and the team never being consistent.

  60. 813bucboi Says:

    4years 100mil 2years 50mil guaranteed

    GO BUCS

  61. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

I think he’s a mental basket case. He needs a shrink. He can’t handle the excitement of the beginning of the game. His first two passes yesterday could have been picks and the same thing with overtime.

  62. Bruce Blahak Says:

As a fan, I can’t continue into next season with WinSTUNNED even being discussed on returning. Yesterday, SHOULD be the final straw. Cut the damn cord!!!!!

  63. Bobby M. Says:

What could Brady….or Rivers do with Evans, Godwin and Perriman? Now add in Arians/Leftwich. There’s some very accomplished players that might be available for $25 million per year. Is a short term bridge….obviously but it also allows us to draft our next guy. We cant do that with Winston because he’s so mentally sensitive to anyone challenging him. Meanwhile the Pats draft QB after QB with the greatest of all time in place.

Arians only has 3 or 4 years left in him. When it comes to Winston….what then? I believe we’ll be rebuilding similar to the Giants with Eli except they squeezed a couple of nice playoff runs out of him with TWO superbowls. We haven’t even sniffed the playoffs. The party ends when Arians is done….the table is set to win now. The defense if kept together, is built to win now. The salary cap budget is set up to win now.

With all that in place…..are the Bucs willing to put all those chips back on Winston? I think Dominick is right….for the right price….yes but for top dollar, no way.

  64. Crabby Fan Says:

I say trade him while he’s garnered so much attention in the national media markets…

Will not make much sense to try to move him after another fun-filled 2020 JW fest. I cannot see him matching these historic numbers.

IMO a rookie qb will not make things any worse for us. Get a smart qb anyday over one that only cares about yards thrown and careless with everything else…

    Go Bucs!!

  65. Ateonetree Says:

would not be surprised if jameis is gone and we end up with nick foles somehow. Bucs are built to win now. Foles in this offense with Evans and Godwin will flourish. Plus he has super bowl experience

  66. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

So why could you not structure a contract heavily with incentive $$ that would pay 30 million if JW keeps his INT numbers down to an average number of all QB’s in the league.
Saying JW will NEVER get control of his INT’s is just STUPID. Peyton was 28 years old before he conquered the INT bug , JW is 25.
Maybe the Buccos just let him win his Super Bowl somewhere else like they did with Williams , Young , and Dilfer.
A better question might be to ask why we keep wasting good draft picks on kickers that cannot get it done , take the 2 or 3 losses that are on the kicker and tell me we are even having this conversation if team is 10-6 or 9-7.
Signing Licht to a 5 year extension after accomplishing nothing should be a HUGE part of this discussion IMHO.

  67. bucnole Says:

I think there is a chance they resign him with something like 28m for 3 seasons that includes a lot of performance clauses as well as the always present off field behavior clauses. Winston is a BIG part of why we can’t seem to win consistently – but not the only one.
We have had 3 different coaching staffs in 5 yrs. There always seems to be one side of the team (including coaches themselves and FO people) that craps the bed.

INTs, fumbles, missed kicks, Terrible Defensive line – then the Secondary broke, Special teams is awful, OL is average (thats being generous), dropped passes, terrible play calls, terrible clock management, awful drafting, terrible FA signings and No Commitment to winning for the Owners. The list is long.
Besides I don’t think BA is interested in trying to train some rookie – he wants to win now.
We have like 3 QB coaches working on this problem of TOs – certainly they can find some way to limit them going forward. Winston could probably benefit from a sports physcologist.

  68. Jimbobasbuc Says:

Any QB allowed to keep his job throwing 30 INTs could put up Jameis numbers. He is not worthy of a new deal. He is a backup at best.

  69. Eric Says:

And he wonder why he can’t even get a sniff, smh!

  70. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Just like Manning was a backup with same # of INT’s over 1st 5 years

  71. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Plenty of funds for the following.

    • Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag on QB Jameis Winston.
    • Re-sign Shaq & others before the legal tampering period.

This way we’ll at least receive some decent compensation for letting Jameis walk

  72. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag

A non-exclusive franchise player may negotiate with other NFL teams, but if the player signs an offer sheet from another team, the original team has a right to match the terms of that offer, or if it does not match the offer and thus loses the player, is entitled to receive two first-round draft picks as compensation.

  73. LUVMYBUCS Says:

It doesn’t have to be two 1st round picks either. But it’s the smart play

  74. stpetebucsfan Says:

    LUV

I wish you were doing the deal…and you are my go to guy for draft prospects!

So here is the crux of the argument for those who are desperate to keep JW at all costs.

“Cutting Winston loose means at least a 4-5 year rebuild”

I totally disagree with that! If you count guys like Dalton…Rivers…Bridgewater….they and others could have taken this team to the playoffs THIS YEAR with the same teammates as JW.

In addition to the Rich Gannon types…I believe I could let you draft LUV and you’d find a QB who might not carry us but could steer a well crafted team to the playoffs.

JW has a great arm and the ability to thread the needle…sometimes…ALL of his intangibles suck. He’s clearly delusional when it comes to his abilities…he has perhaps the worst field vision in the league…not just in missing defenders but missing open targets…

And last but not LEAST….Does anybody here deny the value of momentum in sporting contests. Do we not always hear about which team has the mighty mo….

How do you account for the costs to this team in the loss of momentum in JW”s HISTORIC slow starts dating back to FSU? It IS who he is!

How many times do you ask a team to come from behind?

We KNOW that momentum means something in sporting contests…how much is debatable…the fact that JW was a momentum sucking machine is not.

  75. T REX Says:

Maybe the Buccos just let him win his Super Bowl somewhere else like they did with Williams , Young , and Dilfer.
    ___________________

Two guys from the 80’s? And we all know about Dilfer and the Ravens. He was asked to be a game manager with their defense.

This is fear mongering and ignorant. You don’t keep Winston because you’re chicken bleep about him going somewhere else. Winston is NEVER winning dick, anywhere. He sucks.

  76. stpetebucsfan Says:

BTW….We all remember Jerry McGuire and the Cuba Gooding character…”SHOW ME THE MONEY”.

I get that. I simply want Buc management to respond…

    “SHOW US THE WINS”

  77. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

Dak Prescott is a better QB than Jameis and it isn’t close. Football Outsiders uses advanced metrics to determine player value. Dak is a top 5 QB (without the weapons Jameis has), while Jameis is where yoh would expect a QB with 30 picks including 7 pick-6’s down at 25. That’s right: based on his play this year, he was the 25th most valuable QB. While you continue to argue in favor of Jameis for his production, you forget that Ryan Fitzpatrick was just as productive in this offense. So it’s not just Jameis. Anyways, time to move on!

  78. MirrorMirrowOnTheWall Says:

That tweet did not go well for Dominik.

  79. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Yeah, the more I read from the bloggers on here, the more I think the. I’ve need to move on from Jameis.

The question is what is the best way to do this?
Bucs brass definitely need to consider franchise (non-exclusive) and transition tag here.

The biggest focus honestly needs to be their DEFENSE first. Get Shaq signed!! Try to bring back JPP, & Suh as well. Unsure on Nassib?

My gut now says to let Jameis walk.
We have so many offensive weapons, I think an average QB would flourish here in Tampa. For that, I’m game to snag Dalton, or Bridgewater.
Also draft a QB this year to groom.

I’m not saying these QB’s are better than Jameis. I think I they would turn the ball over much less. Scoring may come down for us some, but I think we’ll be in good shape if healthy.

  80. Anonymous Says:

Dom is right.. You give him a big raise for 30/30? Not on your life.

And then there is Joe…woe is me…sack cloth and ashes…what will we do.

Newsflash…if we can keep this receiving corp in place and draft a stud O lineman or Johnathan Taylor at RB, most FA QB’s would be salivating to be a part of this Offense.

But oh man…we can’t lose Nearsighted Jameis. Can barely see the scoreboard? No wonder he has problems with the deep ball at times.

  81. MadMax Says:

Anyone willing to pay JW more than 20 mill can have him….your expensive problem now.

  82. mark2001 Says:

I can see it now… The Cheat will sign him, Jameis will get glasses and learn that there really are identifiable players more than twenty yards down field, and will start making some pinpoint downfield throws, not requiring acrobatics of the first order. Wow is us…could have had that Jameis if we had just had an optometrist on staff.

  84. Bobbo Says:

If we can retain our entire defense and most of our offense, and there is money left, then pay Jameis

  85. ATLBuc Says:

    Bobby M
When is the last time you saw Brady throw a pass over 20 yards?

  86. Allbuccedup Says:

The bucs schedule is tougher next year. It’s going to be harder to recover from all those ints. The whole NFL now knows he’s a turnover machine. All the defenses next year will be ready for him good luck if you resign him it won’t be pretty.

  87. July Joe Says:

Go to that thread and you’ll see JAMEIS 1OF1 just laid the smack down on Dominik and beat him like a red-headed step-child! Dominik didn’t want that smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  88. garbs65 Says:

For the life of me, I can’t believe Jameis has ANY leverage on the negotiation table. I can’t believe he has any more value than what a team would be paying for their 2nd or even 3rd string qb. He might make a good back-up qb. But he has proven he cannot handle the pressure of being the starting qb. Seriously, I would prefer most any of the rumored free agent qb’s out there over JW. And if his vision is that bad, shame on JW and the entire Buc organization for allowing him to play with that serious of a vision impairment.

  89. Show me the TDs Says:

BS! The Bucs would gain by subtraction if JW called Licht’s bluff. Also, it’s assinine to claim that the Buc’s only options before the 2020 season are Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin. That’s fake news.

  90. Snook Says:

Wow people are stupid. If Bucs franchise tag Shaq, then they lose a lot of leverage with Winston. Either way he’s not signing a deal for $21M per year or less. Wake up. Have you seen what mediocre QBs get paid these days? Cousins? Goff? It’s not 2013 anymore.

  91. Buczilla Says:

Jameis isn’t even worth half that amount, but then again I think that there are only a handful of players worth what they are making on their second (or longer) contracts. “Shrug”.

  92. Joe Says:

Wow people are stupid. If Bucs franchise tag Shaq, then they lose a lot of leverage with Winston.

Don’t believe so. After last two games, Bucs have more leverage.

  93. jb9550 Says:

sorry but JW isn’t worth 10 mil a year. I think Dalton is the best fit for this team and since the Bengals have the first pick they will not look to resign him. he can easily be another Carson Palmer for this team. Besides we can get him cheaper than 30 million. we need to lock up the defense right now. Dalton is a great stop gap for the next 3 years…

  94. Clean House Says:

I love how these a holes are trying to hardball Winston.
He ought to just leave and go play for a team not full of buffoons and liars In leadership

  95. Clean House Says:

    Jameis Winston= NFL passing leader

  96. Clean House Says:

    Fact

  97. MadMax Says:

Jameis Winston, first QB EVER to reach 30 td’s ALONG WITH 30 INT’s

    Fact!
