Not Adjusting
December 22nd, 2019Football in particular, and sports in general, is about adjusting.
Good teams, good players adjust constantly. They have to or they will get owned.
Every shot, every pitch, every play, and on and on and on, adjustments are made or players and teams get buried. And it seems as if one small thing led to Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, tossing four picks yesterday and the team losing to Houston before a national TV audience.
Jameis didn’t adjust.
If you look at the text of Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians’ postgame remarks yesterday, he said over and over on the interceptions that receivers were not winning their one-on-one matchups. Where in the past, Bucs receivers were winning those one-on-one matchups and Jameis, as a result, wasn’t throwing picks.
What’s different about yesterday’s games and past games? No Mike Evans (who has been out for two weeks). No Chris Godwin. No Scotty Miller.
Jameis apparently was thinking, on the first pick for example, he was throwing to Evans and not to Justin Watson. The reserve receiver didn’t win his one-on-one matchup and — boom! — there goes a pick.
So why did Jameis think he was throwing to a physical, possible Hall of Fame receiver who has a wide target range and not a guy who was making his first NFL start since graduating from Penn?
Joe cannot answer that.
Because Joe’s not a shrink.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:02 pm
Sameis Jameis, so consistent he is. Whenever the stage is big and the bright lights come on he craps the bed. I’m sick of hearing about how well he forgets the pics and goes on to the next play. “Snap and clear” he says. He should start spending more time thinking about the mistakes than filling his head with false bravado.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:06 pm
It’s really a stupid excuse and dumb reasoning.
Has Jameis not thrown just as many picks with a healthy Evans, Godwin, etc?
Not like yesterday was a surprise.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:07 pm
Adjust…..it was his first throw…..
The adjustment that is needed is…..if the receiver is covered (no matter who the receiver is) don’t throw it….He’s been trying to adjust for 5 years……not happening.
I will say these out routes to RBs aren’t working too well…..that’s at least the second interception on one.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:08 pm
The defense for the most part of the year did not help Winston as Joe has been saying this whole season. But yesterday Winston did not help the defense who played an above average game keeping DHop to minimal gains and their run game in check.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:10 pm
So much for Jameis having a high football IQ
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:11 pm
No, the first interception happened because Jameis forgot that staring at the receiver is a bad thing. The ball didn’t get close enough to the receiver for there to be a chance for a catch.
I don’t know what Jameis’ psyche is either, but this was and will not be a one time thing. Why did he have an off day? I don’t know, but he has had others and there is nothing that says he won’t have more melt downs in the future.
Maybe some other team can fix him, I don’t think it will happen here. He is a detriment here. Turn the page and start over.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:12 pm
Maybe Joe and the other America QB jock holders are finally seeing the light !!! Get Ryan Tanelhill and let him run the offense and go back to the dominant days and get rid of this clown !!! He’s a joke that’s gotten way too much hype from HS to the pros and what does he have to show for it ?? Absolutely nothing !!! Did you see the crowd yesterday ?? The fans can’t stand him and besides the FSU fans that think he was the reason they won a championship ( which he wasn’t ) only other are the Tampa beat writers who have to say good things or they lose their jobs !!! Stop the insanity and let the clown walk
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:14 pm
OMG, really? So Joe knows what Jameis was apparently thinking? How about the reality…Winston is just being Winston, like he’s done so very many times (this year alone) when Evans and Godwin (and seriously, Miller?) WERE the targets.
Why keep making up excuses for careless play, week after week, year after year?
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:23 pm
“The fans can’t stand him and besides the FSU fans that think he was the reason they won a championship ( which he wasn’t ) only other are the Tampa beat writers who have to say good things or they lose their jobs !!! Stop the insanity and let the clown walk.”
As one of the die-hards that have paid big money to see this team over the years, I was skeptical when they drafted him for his on field and off field stuff, and was only proven right on both counts…sad to say. Sad because I still have season tickets but may take a break if they bring him back (and it is likely for a year or two). I do know as long as Winston is the QB they will not win enough to go to the post season. It is not worth the investment risk.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:29 pm
We watched the game. Actually for a bunch of receivers who nobody knew, they were getting open all game. I think Arians comments were protecting his quarterback about the receivers not winning battles.
We watched the game.
Winston stared down receivers and was off throwing the ball all day.
Just a bad game. This time, the O line did not share it with him. It was all him yesterday.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:30 pm
Jameis is only good when his three really good receivers are there to make him look good…..
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:32 pm
This makes no sense whatsoever and Jameis can not be that dumb. Absolutely ridiculous excuse not to mention Jameis was making the same type of INTs WITH Evans and Godwin. These people just need to stop. They are making Winston look even worse with these absolutely terrible excuses.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:38 pm
He’s been throwing pics his entire career, and it’s only gotten worse.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:40 pm
Anonymous nailed it.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:41 pm
Wrong, Watson had a 3 yard separation on his defender on the outside but Jameis threw it short, and the corner cut it off and ran it in for the pick 6.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:46 pm
Plus Jameis stared down Watson the entire play
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:48 pm
Yup even Jameis said in his interview the first pick he did not get the ball outside enough and the second pick he made a bad read.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:56 pm
I urge guys who only saw it on TV to go watch the coaches tape. There were indeed receivers getting open all game, and Winston wasn’t seeing them, instead choosing risky throws to what I can assume were his primary targets.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:56 pm
No surprise who is writing this
Jameis wins and he has the “nation by the stones”. 😂
He loses and has another 4 pick game and the excuses keep flowing
28 picks and 5 lost fumbles
When is he gonna beat a good teAm With a winning record
The rams and
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:56 pm
We were told that Testaverde, another Buc Turnover Machine of some note, was colorblind. Really?
What’s JayMiss’ excuse this week? Bad thumb? Migraine? Upset stomach?
I’ll wait….
Peace, out
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:56 pm
Watson ran a terrible route. He clearly rounded it off rather than a hard break to the sideline. The DB made a nice play. Regardless, maybe Leftwich should call consecutive running plays and a bomb on every opening series. That might help. Sheesh.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:57 pm
Let another teal try and fix Winston. It’s well past time to move on from the Winston project. If you have to make excuses to keep him. He’s not worth keeping.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:59 pm
Arians blaming everybody but Winston sounds like he’ll want him resigned. I don’t effin care about Winsome as long as they resign Shaq, JPP, Nassib & possibly Suh. Do the right thing Arian’s & Loser Licht.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:00 pm
Perhaps Bruce is beginning to consider that the Bucs stellar passing offense may have more to do with our receivers than our QB… certainly Mike Evans knows all about making an inferior QB look like a legend (see Manziel, Johnny). Please treat JW as an asset to get more draft capital (someone will focus on the 5,000 yards and hope for lower picks as he “matures”) and draft the most accurate passer possible without giving away the franchise… Herbert might be there. Hell, add in a Draft Day do-over and bring in Mariota at under $10M to tutor or back up Herbert… I’m up for an east coast Ducks reunion. Anything but a repeat of the JW loop we’re stuck in. If you want to try to turn Hurts into the next Lamar, I’m in! If you want to draft and red shirt Tua, let’s go. There are just too many options not to try something different… Bruce/Byron/Jason, please please please move on. You tried your best.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:02 pm
I get that everything at this moment is just speculation, BUT:
I actually liked Drew Lock coming out of college last year…
No way to ever definitively prove whether it would have or won’t have been a better season but I believe it would have been… less turnovers, more time of possession, fresher defense throughout the games, maybe plyoffs!
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:10 pm
I’ve said this about Winston since he was in college and yelled obscene comments in the food hall at FSU…..HE LACKS AWARENESS. Its really that simple….its like he cant possibly realize he’s the reason we keep losing because he’s so drunk on his own Kool Aid.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:15 pm
@ TOM he’s been babied his entire life !!!! Everything not just on the field, but he should be in jail with the off the field stuff !! It’s a joke and I pray they let him walk because I’m really tired of paying $800 for 3 seats and having to sell them for 1/2 price because select number 3 makes me that sick.. when you baby someone all their life it’s a bad thing because they can get away with anything and never any repercussions??? Bring in Teddy or Tanny !!! We have the defense and need to obviously let go of some of the o line and draft some in 2020.. it will be 12 years if the clown comeback, but look at San Fran they hired the right GM, coach, drafted well and now have a solid chance to win the super bowl ?? No here as long as Gump and Arians ( who will probably retire after next year ) so sick of this Bullsheet organization!!! Every effen year we the fans and especially the season ticket holders get sold a bunch of BS
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:16 pm
So now it’s the WR fault that the hallways telegraphed and late ! The excuses that come with Jaboo’s turnovers are just exhausting . For the people that continue to make excuses , If you knew that Jameis would lead the league in interceptions in his fifth year , would you have drafted him ? Probably not . So why now after year 5 when he leads the league in INT (by a lot ) do you guys still make excuses and still want this guy as your franchise QB ?
Two traits you look for in a Franchise QB . Can he be a consistently good thrower (Jameis is not ) and is he a good decision maker ( 😂😂😂 ) ? This team needs a qb that can display those qualities .
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:18 pm
How many other teams would start a QB with a cracked thumb on his throwing hand? I give Winston an E for effort. The game was enjoyable to watch while the loss was par for the course.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:19 pm
I really think he’s an alcoholic not just because he sucks as a QB, but all the horrible things he’s done off the field .. it wouldn’t shock me and maybe that’s the only thing him and Farve have in common
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:29 pm
No big mystery. Jameis is a not very bright, man-child.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:34 pm
Bring jameis back next year. I support him or any QB we have moving forward. I do think it’s best to bring him back along with dline. And draft good players that can step up right away and contribute. I would like a good punt/kickoff returner too.
Just like the defense turn it around jameis has an opportunity this offseason to do so along with the coaching staff.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:34 pm
How about the missed air mail to open receivers? Looked JW was throwing to D-Jax again. 5 years of over 100 turnovers… it’s someone else’s turn not named Fitzpatrick.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:37 pm
I can sit here and pick apart jameis and the rest of the team on their negatives. But I see more positive.
We saw the importance of d. Smith. Cappa. Jpp impact etc. leftwhich adjusting to players skills.
We have ourselves a football team not far away from playoffs.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:42 pm
How can you adjust if your jameis ?
No running game .. TE not existing.. no 3rd /4 WR. And even with all that you have a QB that will be passing leader.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:54 pm
You have a coach that backs you up. Tells you throw it. So what do you do ? You sling it. No matter what. Lol.
So if you’re jameis it’s plain simple. Don’t trust receivers. Don’t give a chance to your receivers to make a play. Throw it when your RB are gaining yards. Throw it when your oline protects and you have time. Cover your ass like most QB and throw it safe.
LET your good defense stop and make turnover like it has been doing all year long.
If your jameis wait and let your team perform don’t go out and try to make a play. Let demar Dotson get out and run block. Let cappa pull out and run block.
Once all this is rolling like it has you’ll adjust jameis.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:57 pm
MEANWHILE KEEP SLING IT.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:59 pm
The way you “fix” Winston is actually simple…..run the ball. Go get Leveon Bell who Gase seems to see no value in and reduce Winston passing attempts. Look at Pittsburgh….they have a 3rd string QB…so how do they remain in the playoff hunt? With solid defense and a running game. Its not rocket science, however actually finding the RB that can help us seems damn near impossible….at least for Licht which brings me back to trading for Bell. Its no different then when we traded for JPP. Licht cant find talent consistently in the draft so trade for proven talent.
Winston is who he is….if you drop him back 30+ times, expect 2 turnovers. 40+ times, expect 3 turnovers. 50+…4 or more. Common sense says, less drop backs = less turnovers. In those 30 times, if he connects on basic screen plays and dump passes to the RB in the flat….that’s even better. It’s basic statistics at this point….accept what the data is telling you and adjust accordingly or move on.
For the record….now we are saying he needs TWO Pro Bowl caliber WRs…a Pro Bowl caliber RB…AND a lights out defense. That’s not what a $25 million QB looks like but its not my money, the Glazers can decide if that’s what they envision. The problem with that model is if you lose the RB….or a few on the defense, the whole thing starts to unravel. That’s the value of a legit QB…they can succeed regardless because the league is built for that model.
December 22nd, 2019 at 3:00 pm
Keep taking sacks. Next year let’s shoot for all time record qb sack.
December 22nd, 2019 at 3:06 pm
And to think some of you “Jamis Marks” were squalling “weapons for jamis” was the problem 3 years ago. Guess what – he still a loser. ( Just like the Jamis Marks are) becuse we still is garbage. GO LAY DOWN
December 22nd, 2019 at 3:07 pm
LOL @ Joe spinning this as it was the WRs who caused 4 INTs. Come on! Wake the F up. It shows how much Mike and Chris make Jameis’s inaccurate passes look good. He stared his receiver down and threw a dud on the out to the left. It was a pathetic throw. What, the receivers are always supposed to sky for high balls and come back to flutter passes and make the QB look good? There was nothing to prevent that pick 6 from a receiver point of view because Robey undercut the pass. He was between the ball and the receiver.
Gimme a break. The QB sucks enough to lose games WITH a killer defense.
First we cried the defense always lets Jameis down, then the running game, now the receivers?
The denial is strong with this Joe.
December 22nd, 2019 at 3:13 pm
Luv all the comments here. But they make me LMAO. Because everybody knows as long as Arians is here, so is Jameis..period. He’s becoming quite a national comic character for national sports announcers. He’s called everything from Jeckl-Hyde to the..Cardiac Kid. Our Bucs should say goodbye to him but..we won’t. Now watch him throw 2 to 3 interceptions against the falcon and..Win. He’s classic Brent farve with a few more turnovers. Can’t get to no superbowl with Jameis though Buc fans. Not with his turnovers. Not in this League.
December 22nd, 2019 at 3:26 pm
The more I watch this utah st. kid Jordan Love (QB), the more i like him. He’s got the arm to sling it deep too. He’ll be there when we pick around 15-18. I dont know…but we need to bring back a lot on D, maybe bring back Perriman…..that Jameis money could be used for all of that. The other 4 qb’s are probably gone by 18th.
Go watch him on youtube. I’d post some links but it goes into moderation and doesnt get approved.
December 22nd, 2019 at 4:12 pm
Oh Joe, you’ve sunk to a new low in defending Jameis. Are you REALLY going to blame the 4 INTs on his receivers not getting open?
And did you REALLY mean to write “Jameis apparently was thinking, on the first pick for example, he was throwing to Evans and not to Justin Watson. The reserve receiver didn’t win his one-on-one matchup and — boom! — there goes a pick”.
Seriously? This is the QB who you’re willing to throw mega-millions at and he THINKS Justin Watson is Mike Evans? Can’t tell the difference between Hyman & Godwin? Oh wait, both name end in ‘N’ so I can see where the confusion might’ve arisen.
That rationale for a FIFTH YEAR QB is about as weak as ‘It was awfully windy out’, or ‘he has a fractured thumb, couldn’t grip the ball right, but I played him anyways’. Too many danged EXCUSES. Here’s a FACT for you: Jameis threw FOUR INTs yesterday. (And quite frankly, it should’ve been TWICE that number if the Texan Secondary knew how to catch).
December 22nd, 2019 at 4:31 pm
Mike Johnson…LMAO…you don’t know that Arians won’t part ways with Jameis if he demands too much money, we have to franchise Barrett, etc.. Where in the world did you get the idea that he is married to Jamies? Yes, he was brought in to fix Jameis and rebuild this team into a competitor. But if Jameis proves he can’t be counted on to take this team anywhere, he won’t destroy the team to pretend Jameis will be something he is incapable of being.
December 22nd, 2019 at 4:47 pm
Some of the best QB’s didn’t have the biggest arms! But they did know how to read defenses, move DB’s with their eyes, “throw guys open”, and not put their team in a hole!
Unfortunately, Jameis is not that kind of passer. He locks on to guys with his eyes and doesn’t know how to manipulate DB’s. Makes unsafe throws and poor decisions. And too often rewards the wrong team.
At this point in his career we know what he is and what he isn’t. Since we can’t win with him, it’s time to see if we can win without him.
December 22nd, 2019 at 4:54 pm
Horrible excuse and reasoning. Watson couldn’t adjust cuz JW threw a floating, pop fly duck across the field. That was a pick 6 as soon as it left his hand. Why is everyone in denial that JW is horribly inconsistent, always sucks against good teams and always destroys a good defensive effort.
December 22nd, 2019 at 4:58 pm
@MadMax….Jordan Love is intriguing, but I worry that he may be too much like Winston….especially when it comes to reading defenses and making dangerous throws. However, he certainly has a powerful arm and tons of athleticism. If he could be Jameis without the INTs, he could be a perfect fit for BA’s system.
The scouts will really have to do their homework on this guy!
December 22nd, 2019 at 5:07 pm
He thinks every throw will make it to the receiver even when it’s obvious the db is laying back on purpose. It’s a shame that even the worst dbs can have hopeof getting an int when he’s throwing the ball.
December 22nd, 2019 at 5:20 pm
No excuse for his performance….

Jameis is uncontrollable and doesn’t learn from his mistakes. It’s really time to move on and find a smarter QB. Jameis has worlds of talent but will never be a winner in the nfl the way he plays. Keep him long enough to find a replacement that knows how to win. Jameis isn’t a leader, he’s a loser.
December 22nd, 2019 at 6:28 pm
FFS how long will the teammates of Winston be blamed for his mistakes by the coach, in public, before they start tuning the HC out? It’s almost like Jameis is delusional about his greatness, can’t handle any accurate criticisms, and the head coach is drinking from Winston’s cup of freaking cool-aid, calling out other players to get in line for a drink too.
December 22nd, 2019 at 7:08 pm
813bucboi … “I bet JW and his agent won’t laugh at 2years 50mil guaranteed now”.
Atlanta won again today. If Jameis plays the way he did yesterday, we could easily be 7-9 on the season, with him leading the NFL in TDs AND INTs. If that type of performance what you REALLY want to be tied to for 2 years?
I’m convinced that BA won’t part ways with him for 2020, but I’d hate to see us enter into anything more than a 1-year contract with him at this point. Franchise tag him for $27 mil and move on in 2021 if he doesn’t show marked improvement.
December 22nd, 2019 at 7:14 pm
And BTW bucboi, if it were up to me, we’d be starting Ryan Griffin against Atlanta. Not the optimum situation to see how he stacks up as a backup QB, but I’m tired of the excuses for Jameis (top receivers on IR, no running game, fractured thumb, too windy … whatever). If Griffin isn’t a viable backup, draft one or sign one. And I’d prefer one who could push Jameis for the starter’s role. Competition makes the strong stronger.
December 22nd, 2019 at 7:58 pm
DR
cmon man….ATL beat a lousy Jags team, just like we did….I could care less about ATL…nothing is a given but we’ve beat up lousy teams all year….
Franchise tag doesn’t benefit either side imo….
we just saw how he performed under pressure in a contract year….Why put him in this same position again….
Draft defense and trenches this year and get a FA FS and RB…..
Not making excuses but it’s everyone’s first year in the system….consistency is key to winning….
I would’ve starting playing RG once JW injured his thumb…..imo we should give JW 2year deal, bring back RG, and draft a QB late….that Gives the rookie 2years to develop, 2years to build a solid roster….at that point if JW is still what he is today, then we have his potential replacement on the roster who’s been in the system for 2years…..

Get gone and get him the hell out of here
December 22nd, 2019 at 8:19 pm
Here we go again with this bullsh!t of blaming the receivers. So Godwin and Evans were running garbage routes all year too?
These excuses make it so much harder to have any empathy for Winston. Treat him like a freaking employee that isnt doing his job well, because that’s exactly what he is. Nowhere else in life can you continually make the same mistakes at work and keep your job. Dudes 25 years old and has been in the NFL for 5 years, he’s not a freaking 4 year old that got his hand caught in the cookie jar.
My freaking 12 year old son learned after one or two mistakes this year where to put his passes and where not to. None of this should really come as a surprise to anyone, Winston hasn’t even proven yet that he knows how to keep his hands to himself and not to touch other peoples privates when they say no. How much more does he need to embarrass himself, his family, and this organization before someone holds him accountable?
It’s a lost cause.
December 22nd, 2019 at 8:31 pm
I like Arians and his straight forth demeanor and I am willing to wager 3 of my poor ass pay checks that Jameis is only gonna get that one year tag and Arians will draft a QB and develop him over the next season.
December 22nd, 2019 at 10:01 pm
When you stare down your reciever as Winston did on 3 of those picks, the DB’s know where you are going with the football. Plus Winston threw it a little behind him so the corner could get it.
Winston telegraphed his throws all game
December 23rd, 2019 at 12:33 am
Big Winston fan and we all wanted him to succeed well most of us and not that ma y on this site but eventually good players get to a point where mistakes are simply the result of good defenses and scheming dude is just doing the same thing week after week. He knew damned well his top targets were gone which is why he told his tight ends to get ready. Too many freaking excuses
My brother was at the game and said every time he went to the sidelines he was holding his thumb well hes stupid for going out there hurting his product after the world had a good perception of him. He’s on the field so no one will allow you to use the injury excuse if you bring a team back. Cant use the injury excuse only when he makes bad throws at the beginning of Games and forget all about it when he starts playing well as the game goes along
December 23rd, 2019 at 1:27 am
Arians said Jameis trusts his receivers too much. But, what was the alternative, just holding the ball and taking a sack or throwing it away on every play? There seemed to be no scheming guys open; everyone on every throw was covered, so the receivers need to win tbeir matchups and when you’re talking about backups and guys off the street, they just don’t.
I do wonder why so many teams can scheme receivers WIDE OPEN yet the Bucs never seem to get anyone, other than OJ now and then (when he’s allowed to play) wide open?
December 23rd, 2019 at 2:58 am
No Joe is not a psychic. He’s also not very smart
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:25 am
After that game I’d like the Bucs to keep the defense unit together at all costs and chat with Teddy Bridgewater’s agent. I’d offer JW back up money and let him test the market.
December 23rd, 2019 at 5:01 am
I can tell some of you are never in the stadium. There ARE people wide open often…Winston just doesn’t see them. Or if he does, he’s deciding to make a bad decision and stick with the hot or his fave.
December 23rd, 2019 at 8:06 am
Buc receivers early in the game where running by DBs and were wide open and the balls were uncatchable. After 15 games, what good team have we beat. Digging deep holes in the first half by spotting teams pick 6’s is the recipe for losing. Teams with negative high turnover ratio cannot win games, its a proven fact. Doesn’t matter how many yards your offense gets, if you give away the ball on your side of the field you lose, plain and simple.
December 23rd, 2019 at 8:40 am
During our last winning season, in Koetter’s first season as HC, Dirk seemed to have lost complete faith in Jameis throwing the ball in the Sunday or Thursday night game against the Panthers. Koetter ran Jaquizz Rodgers over and over and over again. He ran him on 3rd and long multiple times, he ran him on almost every first down. We won the game. It was the best coaching job Koetter ever had. I’m not saying that BL and BA should completely castrate Winston but I think the coaches need to factor in the Winston early struggles into their playcalling. Mike Holmgren was far more conservative early in games with Favre. Of course, he could afford to be. Their D was almost always great. They could run the ball. And they won. This team looks to have turned the corner defensively and doesn’t need any early game Jameis heroics. This needs to be factored into early playcalling.
Again, I’m not super worried about the INTs, Brett Favre threw 29 in his only season with the Jets in a new offense, new players around him, and then he went on to Minnesota to have his greatest season ever. JW will continue working hard to get better. Hopefully, BL tries to factor in his early game issues into his playcalling in the future. We don’t need to score 50 anymore.
December 23rd, 2019 at 8:50 am
When you sling it 50 xs a game im sure some will be intercepted
December 23rd, 2019 at 10:35 am
I’m so tired of the Jameis excuses every single week.
What makes ANYONE think Jameis will suddenly throw for 35 tds and 10 ints next season?
We’ve had 5 years of Jameis and hes literally the exact same QB today as he was as a rookie in every single way measurable.
Do you know the definition of insanity?
Here is a better question. Do you seriously picture Jameis winning a SB for Tampa?
And isnt that the point? Why are Bucs fans so accepting of mediocrity?
December 23rd, 2019 at 2:45 pm
Sorry, this is not an excuse.
I don’t care what Bullchit Bruce had to say.
They practiced with these receivers all week. Evans was already out the week prior.
I would forgive 1 or 2 INTs given the WR situation, but 4???? (1 of which was a pick-6 and the next one would have been if not for a penalty).
No, the issue with Jameis is that he STILL stares down receivers from the second the ball gets snapped.
Where are the look offs? Where are the pump fakes? It’s year 5, he should know how to do that chit by now.
