Jason Licht Says This Was A Playoff Game

“Jason, if Bruce can fix Jameis, we’ll be just fine.”
General manager Jason Licht had plenty to say before today’s game — and he has plenty of work to do after the season.
Licht should leave fixing Jameis Winston to Bucco Bruce Arians and his team of quarterback experts. But Licht might not have to do much with his defense.
Prior to kickoff, Licht told the Buccaneers Radio Network that “this is a playoff game for us,” referring to the matchup against the Texans. And speaking of the defense, Licht said he hadn’t seen the defense “this hyped up for a long time.” And the GM gushed about his front-7 and how much experience the young defensive backs have gotten.
And man, did that defense come to play. They made DeSean Watson look mortal, dropping him five times and limiting his scrambling. The run defense was its typical stellar self and the Texans were just 4-of-14 on third down.
Sadly, the defense couldn’t overcome America’s Quarterback playing Santa Claus.
If this had been the Bucs’ first playoff game in 12 years, Jameis would have lost it for them.

That D is for real. Biggest pain of watching this game was seeing VH3’s happiness. He’s trash. Our young CBs are the best young CBs in the league. We keep that front 7 together and we will be major players next season.

Yes this was our SuperBowl. And our QB prooved to not be good enough. He is not good enough to win us a big game.
But I will support him and still want him back. Think he can learn how to read a defense better. But if Bruce don’t think so and decides differently I’ll understand.
But Winston has played his way out of a long-term deal it looks like. That doesn’t seem justifiable now since he is still losing us games.

I love the Bucs but this is why I dont like JW he will get u thinking we are headed to the promises land then he will pull the carpet from up under u. He will never get us to a super bowl he might just might get us to the playoffs but he will blow that in the first round.

We saw the Real Jameis Winston today. All of the Winston excuse makers will be in full force now.
Kudos to the defense for keeping the Bucs in the game. With all of Winston’s turnovers this game could have been a blowout.

What’s the one thing holding this team back, and it’s been holding this team back all year? QB play. I don’t care about the 450 yard games, that isnt a duplicatable winning formula in the NFL. Those games are outliers. The Lions and Colts are garbage.
This roster has too much promise to let it be wasted by Winston. How many open receivers does he have to miss? How many bad reads does he have to make.
He predetermine where that last pass was going to go before the snap, there’s no way that out route was the first read. Howard should have been the first read and Winston didn’t even look there.

This Bucs team held their own against a playoff team..
They were just a quality qb away… Winston gave them 13 points quick..
A quality qb that practices Bal security would have won easily and the Bucs would have play respectable before the nation… The circus was all on Winston!

Texans don’t win a playoff game. With Evans and Godwin and WE as a team don’t turn the ball over or drop passes or miss blocking we would of crush the Texans. We are very close. We need a good draft and resign players and add good free agents.

No receivers, te played horrible, run game was awful outside of what 2 runs as normal. Broke hand, vs a play off contender.
Lost by 3 and had a fg blocked.
Jameis had 1 bad game out of his last 6. But there was plenty more to blame than just him as always. But u fake fans will always blame jameis.

Stop throwing out routes that take forever to get a target. How many undercut int’s has Jameis Clause given out? Brate dropped his ball but how many slants to you see Brate catching? He is much better facing the QB than running slants. but no excuse, he dropped.

We are literally one QB away from a playoff run. The defense is way better and we have pieces on offense at WR and the O-Line is average. You get a QB who doesn’t turn the ball over 2-4 times a game and we can win majority of are games. Winston has to go he is holding the damn team back.

The QB has thrown 28 INT’s, resulting in about 100 points scored against this team. How in the hell are you going to blame the defense? Do you watch football. I think it’s up to 6 Int’s on openning drives now this year, and multiple on his first pass thrown.
Get the fk out of here with your excuses. It’s hard to be dumb enough to blame the defense with these kinds of statistics. It’s not debatable. Almost every team we play is spotted 10-17 points a game by one player on this team.

He’s not the only one, you are correct. Brate, Barber and Watson all had big mistakes too that cost us points. But so did Jameis.
Houston did nothing offensively. Our own offense won the game for them. Frustrating af.

Brate drop a pass in which I believe would given the Bucs a big win. But remember that pass would have not meant nothing if Winston hadn’t thrown the pick 6 and another pick which lead to a field goal thanks to our defense for not giving up another 6 points and also a pick right after we got a turnover which the Bucs would’ve score some points

It was a playoff team looking to lock up the division so had all the motivation you need to play lights out and we were still a dropped pass away. This team can compete with anyone in the league but just cant win. 6 turnovers and in a situation where they feel desperate to sign a guy to big money who consistently and literally throws the game away.
