Bad Practice Week Turns Into A Win
December 8th, 2019Intriguing buzz in the Bucs’ postgame locker room after today’s thrilling 38-35 win.
A couple of Bucs defensive pillars were adamant that the defense had a crappy week of practice and learned a lesson from it after a bad start while squeaking out a victory.
“We didn’t have a good week in practice and it showed in the game,” Lavonte David told Buccaneers Radio.
Devin White added, “We practiced bad and we overcame it.”
Both agreed that the Bucs would have to do better and the defense was messy and littered with breakdowns early.
But White made the big late strip late on a drive that could have ended the game with a Colts win. And Shaq Barrett had what might have been a game-saving tackle at the close of the half to prevent a touchdown and force Indianapolis into a last-second field goal.
The pass rush didn’t get the job done and the secondary gave an October flashback performance, but it was a enough for a win against a decent team fighting for its playoff life.
Joe loves the taste of victory.

The Colts are not chumps like the Falcons and Cardinals. Good win today. I officially have some confidence in Arians and his staff. Jameis? Not so much.

The fact that everybody on this team is starting to have confidence each other says a lot. The WR stepped up W/ Mike out, The O-line did well with Cappa being out. Struggled w/ Smith out and the colts could sense it. They were loading up on that left side. But nobody quit. Thats what you want to see from a team.
Some people want to play for a draft pick. But we are starting to see what type of depth we have and dont have. That helps to determine your draft picks. The Oline needs quality depth. Probably the worst position group we have. Might fix our RB problem, however we still need a number 1 back

Buczilla ATLs offense is far from being chumps bad season yea but that offense has bin up there for awhile. I hate to say this but Ryan freeman jones an Ridley are more than quality starters especially jones he’s a future hall of fame WR. They also were in the super bowl not to long ago

The refs put them inside the ten at the end of the first half with that terrible roughing the passer call on Vita as he hit the QB while he was throwing the ball

That penalty was awful at the half but so was the bad coverage from Davis on the huge completion.
Defense gave up a bunch of huge completions in the first 3 quarters but tightened up nicely at the end (and got some other key stops through out the game). Makes sense to hear they didn’t have a great week of practice.
Anyone else notice JPP seemed off his game today too?
