Bucco Bruce Arians was heard telling an underwear football story yesterday.
You know that thing called “underwear football.” It stands for spring practices without pads. It’s not real football.
However, those sessions are often used to evaluate defensive backs and receivers since their work most simulates real game action.
On Sunday, Breshad Perriman had a career day against the Jaguars.
Speaking on Buccaneers Radio yesterday, Arians noted that the recent rise of Perriman has roots in underwear football.
“I mean, that’s what he looked like all spring. You know, it’s like, ‘(heavy sigh) When’s it going to happen? Because it just hasn’t happened.’ But yeah, I was really happy for him, ” Arians said of Perriman.
Arians added that Perriman and Jameis Winston may be evolving together. “It’s a trust thing, too,” he said. “And then, you know, he got probably [the Jaguars’] third corner, and he wore him out pretty good.”
Perriman is among a healthy handful of Bucs playing better over the last month or so. Joe will toast a cold one tonight hoping that continues.

I guess we can keep him around next year for WR depth at the same cheap price. Better get something out of him knowing he’s costing us a 3rd or 4th rounder in 2020. Same with the punter lol

A couple of his cathes looked awkward, as if he doesn’t know which was to put his hands. He could cement his status for next year with a strong finish this year. Congrats to him!

I just couldn’t believe that with two referees within 5 yards of him, one on either side, they blew that basic, simple call. It wasn’t even close to incomplete.

Eh, Perriman either discounts us on a deal after the season or let him walk. As others have stated, the priority needs to be retaining as much of the D-line as possible. Finding an passable 3rd receiver can be done on pennies. Or you know, actually use Brate & Howard more instead…regardless we have proven the offense is very potent for the first half of the season using our two dominant receivers

he’s one and done here. with godwin to pay we can’t afford a $4m deep specialist. they need to hope that justin watson and scotty miller can develop into natural replacements for perriman’s role at a fraction of his cap hit

I have no trust in Perriman. He’s too passive n soft. He doesn’t give his all as if he’ll go all out to make a play no matter who’s covering him. I’ve been watching him closely n he really haven’t shown me anything. I thought we were moving toward bringing in aggressive ball all out type players. Adam Humphries may not have the speed n height but he’s tough as nails when it comes to taking one on the chin for the team. I love the attitude of Carlton Davis, DWhite, JPP, CGodwin,LDavid. Another player, OJHoward, big n soft n will not give his all. I’m just done with these guys who remain on the team n not contribute consistently. Let’s be done with Ryan Smith, Perriman,OJ Howard,DSmith, n DDotson.

Congrats to Perriman for the career day receiving. He made a couple nice catches and probably earned himself another year or 2 in the league just off tape from Sundays performance. (well – that and he’s “fast”)
That said – why is this guy even here still?? We had a 4th or at worst a 5th round compensatory pick coming to us in next years draft if we had just cut this player prior to week 9. Its not like we are trying to hold onto a playoff spot or anything and need him on the field. Scotty Miller and Justin Watson should be getting ALL the #3 receiver snaps for the rest of this year.

I read your post and don’t think you gave it your all either. Constantly replacing “and” with “n” because it saved you a total of two seconds for the entire post, no spaces after commas, I could go on. I think you should try harder… or be smarter… or both.

I don’t think Justin Watson will be a Buc next year. He is already #5 on the depth chart. If he was going to make an impact he would have do so already. There are guys off the street who are hungrier and more versatile, and more so if Bucs draft a WR.
