The Collapse Of The Run Defense
November 17th, 2019The Bucs’ No. 1-ranked run defense fell apart today.
It might have been the biggest stunner in today’s 34-17 blowout loss to the Saints.
Saints running backs cranked out 25 rushes for 109 yards. No real big runs for New Orleans, just a punishing grind-it-out attack.
On one play in the first half, Ndamukong Suh appeared to play pattycake with Alvin Kamara when attempting a tackle. It appeared to be a low-effort kind of attempt caught by the FOX cameras. But that’s just one snap. Overall, the Bucs had no answers for the Saints ground attack.
It led to the Saints cranking out a whopping 37 minutes of time of possession, compared to 23 for the Bucs.
Of course, the Bucs’ pass defense wasn’t there, either. But Bucs fans knew that would happen before kickoff.
A complete loss today for the Bucs.

12 QB hits today. The run defense while not great, didnt have any where near the impact of our Olines ineptitude today.

Glad to see a picture of Suh there. Seen him to little to no effort twice in the 1st half. I hope the guys who break down film focus on him and let us know if he was a big reason for the pathetic run stop today. My bet is yes.

the offense controlled the clock for 23 minutes? unacceptable
November 17th, 2019 at 4:49 pm
It sucks when you got 3 and out 20 times during the game
Offense hurt the defense
November 17th, 2019 at 4:50 pm
under 60% pass completions …again
November 17th, 2019 at 4:50 pm
Jean 1 minute of the first quarter too. We lost the game right out of the gate. Another unprepared Bucs team.
November 17th, 2019 at 4:50 pm
This was all on the 50 coaches we have. This team didn’t even show up today. Suh was one of many that mailed it in for the year on this team. Send em all packing!!!! Including all the coaches!!!
November 17th, 2019 at 4:50 pm
Wasn’t Hargraves cut for not giving effort?
I doubt Bruce ” Lack of preparation H – didn’t really miss coaching but why not ” Arians will hold Suh accountable.
November 17th, 2019 at 4:51 pm
Lack of effort today was everywhere with the exception of white, edwards, and maybe vea and LVD
JPP Gholston suh corners running backs weird hard to watch!!
Hope Arians kicks some as$$

holding the ball, staring down receivers, and to much focus on pass rush instead of getting the ball out. These are not traits you expect from a 5 year franchise QB
November 17th, 2019 at 4:54 pm
I love the one sack Jameis took when he got spooked and ran 15 yards in a 3 foot circle. Just can’t have that.
November 17th, 2019 at 4:55 pm
So cutting VHG for lack of effort didn’t send a message to the team….
Dotson had poor effort
D.smith had poor effort
OJ whiffed on blocks and and poor effort
Will BA call those players out in public?….
nawl, it was just 1 play…lol…

Defense was gassed. Still elite at stopping the run. Plus, stopping the run is irrelevant when they throw 50+ times.

BINGO…

If anything good came out of this ..Michael Thomas didn’t beat us
November 17th, 2019 at 4:57 pm
I see absolutely no difference in effort from last year, you wrote the article about Bill Pollian saying that well coached teams star playing better the second half of the season but there is no evidence this team is getting better, this team made no adjustments whatsoever from the first time they played the saints and that falls solely on the coaches. Atlanta handled the saints last week so it’s not they are invincible.

“WE HAVE NOT HIT ROCK BOTTOM YET THIS YEAR
going to be worse
This team is going backwards and worse than any Koetters years
WAIT UNTIL THE LOCKERROOM TURNS
Coming soon”

Revitalized Falcons blowed over the Saints in the dome..
Smached the Panthers like a are wrecking ball in Carolina…
They are coming like a Freight Train through the snow towards the Bucs and the Bucs are s deer stuck in the tracks!
November 17th, 2019 at 5:08 pm
And this is how the team responded to the message Arian sent by cutting the loafing Hargreaves. What a broken franchise…. top to bottom.

You win and lose in the trenches. You win half the battle it’s a toss up you lose both it’s hands down loss every-time. Most fans didn’t realize this however. Only want to see miracle wins every week! Sick sick fans!
November 17th, 2019 at 5:10 pm
This Bucs team resembled PTSD victims as if shell shocked from the onset.
November 17th, 2019 at 5:13 pm
LOL, we ran into Alvin Kamura today, and a red hot Drew Brees. The Saints are simply a better team.
Te Talent difference really showed today.
November 17th, 2019 at 5:54 pm
Wow sure am glad we ran off Gerald McCoy for Ndamukong “1.5 sack” Suh.
November 17th, 2019 at 6:15 pm
That 1st possession 3 and out was inspiring!
The OJ fumble/ interception credited to JW was Entertaining!
The next possession 5 and out was hopeful!
Little did we know, we had a pick 6 and 2 more interceptions not to mention sacks to look forward to…
But I’ll give credit for the loss to OLine, Coaches, Suh – oh and Refs of course.

The defense collapsed cos they were on the field the whole first half thanks to Arians and his crap offensive game calling. Is he starting to show signs of dementia? Sure seems that way. NOT ONCE did he adjust the offense to what the other team was doing on defense. If Jameis Winston was responsible for blowing the game, how come he wasn’t benched and Griffin allowed to start?? Keep Bowles and the ST coach, but get rid of Arians. He’s all big hot air and that’s it.

Kobe Fake, those pissant comments are totally unneeded but sadly true nonetheless.
