Cappa Bouncing Back

The last time the Bucs played the Saints, a Bucs legend was born.
Prior to that game, fans weren’t completely sure what to make of second-year right guard Alex Cappa. He rarely played his rookie season and the crowd that has their pitchforks lit wanting to run Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht through the countryside simply pointed at Cappa as another reason why Licht fails at the draft.
Those fans didn’t have anything personal against Cappa, it seemed they just wanted someone else.
Cappa was named a starter for opening day and fans were figuring him out. What did win the Bucs’ fans over on Cappa was when the second-year guard broke an arm in the second quarter facing the Saints in October and finished the game.
A legend was born.
Cappa missed two games and the right side of the Bucs’ offensive line was a train wreck. All of a sudden, fans’ view on Cappa changed from just a warrior story into an improving player with the heart of a lion.
So last week Joe asked Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians how he thought Cappa was doing.
Arians seemed to think Cappa’s progression was stunted due to his broken arm.
“He’s getting back in the swing,” Arians said. “He struggled there a little bit, like anybody would with that arm, but he’s getting back full speed [and is] ready to go.”
Joe senses Cappa has earned a great deal of respect from fans and coaches. And the whatever the guy may lack in talent, he is making up for it with heart and guts.

Wonder how he’d look at right tackle, throw in a fresh body at RG, and turn Dotson into clue.

Every line is going to have a Cappa like player….he’s effective and frankly would likely look better with a higher tier QB behind him that can get rid of the ball more quickly.

I’m a big Cappa fan but we got curb stomped that game maybe because he played with a broken arm

dude is tough on a soft franchise so hat tip and please accept football fans sympathy for having to play next to one of the worst RT’s that has ever worn a football uniform… no young man should be subject to playing with such bums… all that said… yes cappa is a tough guy nice story but he is not a starting nfl lineman and never will be… none of the bucs olinemen are starters anywhere else…. yes that includes that below average rag doll ukulele boy marpet

Kobe—don’t you know the starting Guard for the Saints is out like he was last week and the lowly Falcons sacked the Saints QB three times and with the Saints’ best cover corner out too the Falcons beat the Saints? Well the same two players are still out for the Saints who are a dome team but do not play as well on grass. Hence, Vea can push their new Guard back and their QB can’t step up and throw like he usually does to avoid sacks and JPP and Barret will be coming after him on every play so this game likely will favor the Bucs who just turned the corner last week and our CB 35 was the best CB in the NFL last week and can give Thomas fits this week. Plus their QB is short and Suh and Gholston.

People round the Tampa parts are frustrated on never winning. They’re hoping for a rookie savior and expect them to do it in their first year. Surprised no one has called for Devin White’s head.

Yeah we’ve got our RG for the future…..now go draft that 6’7 360 beast Mekhi Becton in the 2nd (LT but also plays RT) to replace Dotson…..and since he can also play LT hmmmm…..

If Ali and Donovan had this kid’s heart, they would have made a couple of pro bowls by now. Dotson seems like a cool dude, but he is a liability at this point. Hopefully Licht and anyone and everyone in our scouting department are long gone by time the draft rolls around, but I have serious doubts that they will be unfortunately.
