Bucs Are Just Dumb

The Bucs game today reminded Joe of an overused line in the comedy classic, “F-Troop.”
Often, early in an episode, Sgt. O’Rourke would say to his pal, Cpl. Agarn, “I don’t know why people say you are so dumb.”
Fast forward a scene or two and out of the blue, Agarn barks at O’Rourke, “Who says I’m dumb?”
The Bucs are dumb. Each and every game the Bucs make dumb plays. Out of position. Making the wrong cut. Throwing to the wrong man (often with a different colored jersey). Penalties, penalties, penalties.
The all-time icing on the cake was when Breshard Perriman tackled running back I-Dare-you-to-play-him Ohgodisheawful.
Nevermind Ohgodisheawful shouldn’t be on the field much less Perriman but the fact Perriman tackled Ohgodisheawful for a loss on a critical play summed up the sorry Bucs.
Matt Millen, who worked the game as a FOX color commenter, howled in shock it was so dumb, mentioning he has played organized football since he was seven-year old and never saw that.
Millen all but said a few times during the game the Bucs played with their heads up their rear ends. And how, with a bye week to prepare for the most important game of the season to date, they made so many mistakes and were so ill-prepared all falls back on Bucco Bruce Arians.
Why, after a timeout, with the game and season on the line, you call for Peyton Barber to run up the middle to pick up a first down on fourth down? Insanity!
The fetish for running Barber up the middle, mostly on first downs, is just impossible to process logically.
Former Bucs tight end John Gilmore, speaking on the Buccaneers Radio Network, all but said the Bucs have too many dumb players.
“I just think the Bucs do not have smart ballplayers,” Gilmore said. “It is like [the coaches] have to put the players in position. This isn’t Pop Warner football. They [the players] are not preparing enough for games if they are out of position so much.
“I know they are being coached up. I know the coaches are doing their jobs. For these guys to be out of position so off, it’s upsetting.”
The thing is, you cannot coach dumb out of a player. That’s impossible unless you run the simplest offense and the simplest defense known to man. Good luck winning any NFL games doing that.
Time to identify the dumbarses and get whatever you can for them.
It seems the Bucs embrace the Curly Howard School of Football too much and too often.

Speaking of dumb.. that word crossed my mind watching #45 … he looked like the last 5 year old playing musical chairs running around looking for a chair that wasn’t there… I’ll cut him some rookie slack not seeing that much NFL real time and playing with a knee brace…

1/3rd of this team are not at an NFL level… that doesn’t help.

We really are a very dumb team. Still making preseason mistakes. This ship has sunk, time to climb aboard a new one. Also, note to the 2019 Bucs, the 1976 Bucs are going to sue you for copying their plays and coveted bloopers.

Who wants to rep a Buccaneer player now? This team manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on a regular basis. Jensen gets the sh!t show started free snapping to a clearly not ready Winston, but for me the real show stopper was Perriman tackling Ogodheisawful behind the LOS. Announcer Matt Millen was astounded at this absurdity. Time for a fire sale. Here is my nominees for a new team:

Does this surprise anyone, they had a bye week and didn’t have a practice until Tuesday of this week….. Yes a 2-4 team felt like it didn’t need to practice, guess I’m just talking about practice though, who needs that

This is indeed a dumb and undisciplined team!
I do not see how this does not reflect on the coaches. How could they have had a team so unprepared.
WR’s quitting on JW? Really? That was the problem? It wasn’t a receiver who snapped the ball into JW’s grill…bingo seven quick points for the Titans.
I can’t believe it was Godwin quitting twenty yards short of JW’s int which translated into kaching..another seven for the Titans.
Hard to win in the NFL when you give it up more readily than a cheap hooker in Times Square.

All I know is that we have a bunch of coaches who can’t coach a pee wee league team. Seriously, when the team is fundamentally unsound it’s a coaching issue. Do you see this kind of nonsense on the Patriots? the Saints?

I know in the grand scheme of things this is a tiny gripe but ain’t it about time BA understands PI calls ain’t getting overturned unless it’s as bad as the Saints last playoffs. He’s kinda dumb too. Seems like it’s every game and he ain’t won one yet.

this is why when asked about drafting players Bill Bellicheck stated he drafts intelligence. That gets you players that understand what to do and why and they do all the little things right.
