Heroic Return By JPP; Trade Bait?
October 27th, 2019There was Jason Pierre-Paul centered in the Bucs’ pregame huddle at midfield on the Titans’ home turf.
JPP was jacked up and firing up his teammates.
He wasn’t about to make a gentle return following breaking his neck in early May.
Lively in warm-ups, JPP did not start today’s game for the Bucs defense, but he was in there on the second snap and that’s when he recorded his first sack of 2019. Later in that series he got in a good shot on Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Joe was proud to be there to witness this heroic comeback by a Buccaneer who leaves it all on the field.
It’s funny. If you talk to JPP, he’ll tell you he didn’t grow up a football fan and he’s not much of a NFL fan right now like most other players are. But he is a fan of playing and pushing his physical limits to the extreme.
Nobody’s every going to call JPP “soft.”
Today we saw JPP rush the passer, drop in coverage, play the run and manage to get in a healthy share of snaps for a guy who has had about five practices all year. He finished with three solo tackles.
Bravo to No. 90.
Joe hates to type this, but the Bucs could probably get a strong draft pick for JPP before Tuesday’s league trade deadline. He will be a free agent after the season, courtesy of his re-worked contract, a move made after he broke his neck.

Any assets that are moveable, trade them.
Hopefully BA sticks around, we get a new GM, and start this all over next year.

Yay. Its Halloween week and we are talking draft. Might as well trade whomever we can. I can only assume we have seen our last game with oj howard in a bucs uniform! Will Tampa ever be good again?! Every year its same mistakes stupid penalties and rediculous turnovers. I mean we had our own guy tackle our rb on a crucial 3rd down play. Sad!

Burn it down! Trade ‘ em, cut ‘ em, who cares.
This is a raging ,$hit heap
October 27th, 2019 at 4:30 pm
Trade everyone. Start over……
October 27th, 2019 at 4:32 pm
Told y’all
Pass rush and secondary go hand in hand
GO BUCS

If we do make some trades for draft picks what make ANYONE believe that Licht can and will draft good players??? His history says he can’t.
October 27th, 2019 at 4:35 pm
No trade we won’t get much
October 27th, 2019 at 4:35 pm
Everyone is for sale!
F*** THIS!!!!
Even Evans and David, let them go to a real team, they deserve it.
Horrific, new formulas to lose every freakin week!
Luckily, thanks to the worst GM in sports, half the players that contribute are FAs in 2020 anyway, so they have minimal trade value.
Bruce Arians and his massive staff needs to go too.
Can’t believe how bad the play calling and game management was.
It takes a Village to be this horrible.
I’d rather see Raheem with a band of cheap misfits than this crap.
Burn it down Glaziers!
Keep writing those checks.

Nope….he has another year….all we need is some fresh OL help and a QB…
October 27th, 2019 at 4:41 pm
If we still had JPP under contract for next year, I would want to keep him. But…he wanted out of next year for a reason. I hate to say this because he is one of my favorites, but trade him.
Or…with Winston gone, we’ll have cap money.
October 27th, 2019 at 4:45 pm
Sorry. I can’t think any positive thought about trading away players for draft picks or losing for higher draft picks because we have total clown evaluating talent and drafting players. Under Jason Lichts rule, the Bucs will never be anything more than they currently are. Frustrating times to be a Bucs supporter because there is no hope in sight, no silver Linings. Only doom and gloom.
October 27th, 2019 at 4:51 pm
Keep him. He’s got 2-3 yrs left in him. It’d be crazy to let him go.

Indeed, draft picks are only valuable if you draft well. If you believe BA is doing the choosing now, how’s this draft shaping up? Hard to argue White unless you were jonesing for an EDGE but I’m good with Shaq. Bunting was slow out of the gate, but he’s looking up (sort of)… hoped for more out of 2nd rounder. Dean, not sure? Edwards, good. Nelson, good. Gay, good but did we have to draft a kicker? Miller, maybe. Beckner, PED violation already. We’ve certainly seen worse (looking at you Licht) but nothing that screams talent evaluator savant.
Still, we need as many assets as possible because like it or not we’re rolling with a new QB next year… either a young Buc that affords cap space to go buy some OL/DB help (another crap shoot around here) or someone with potential willing to start for less than $20M. No way do we tag JW for $24 and no freaking way we tie ourselves to him longer term. Feels like the movie Groundhog Day.

Great to see JPP back and hopefully able to contribute more going forward, but I still think OJ Howard is our most “marketable” trade asset. Truthfully with the out of the blue hamstring injury that popped up over a bye week that led to OJ being inactive I’m wondering if perhaps the Bucs agree? Sad as it is to say I’m not sure if anyone else currently on the roster has significant return on investment value?
October 27th, 2019 at 5:13 pm
Yes, we finally have a stout DL so let’s get rid of our stud player for maybe draft picks I’m assuming? Because we don’t already have enough rookies starting and we do such a hell of a job drafting defense.
Makes perfect ‘It’s a Bucs Life’ sense.
October 27th, 2019 at 5:20 pm
JPP is the only real leader on this team.

First….fire Jadon Licht! Second, start planning for life after Jameis Winston. Then Anyone over the age of 27 is trade bait.
Hate to say it, but trade ME13…he will fetch a 1 and a 3 or 4…and he deserves better than this team! (Rebuild next year around Godwin as the #1 WR)
Trade OJ Howard….love the kids upside, but we can get a 1 or 2 for him that we sorely need. (Brate is still talented at TE)
Trade JPP, LVD and Shaq….get whatever you can for them!
It’s time to face reality….we need a skilled GM to completely rebuild this roster from the lines on up….and draft our next QB!
October 27th, 2019 at 5:31 pm
TIME TO BLOW IT UP AND START OVER WITH REAL TALENT.
October 27th, 2019 at 5:56 pm
Right now, Bucs have to get READY TO PLAY ANOTHER ROAD GAME NEXT SUNDAY IN SEATTLE. This is the 6th ROAD Game out of the last 7 they’ve played including overseas in London. Which other team in the entire league has had to play a schedule like this one? NONE. They were lucky to have a bye week after London. WHOOPEE DO! How do you fix ownership? You can’t. Just throw kozmik dice for next week.
October 27th, 2019 at 7:21 pm
The NFL hates us.
They never give us any calls.
October 27th, 2019 at 7:30 pm
This guy JPP is a freaking warrior
October 27th, 2019 at 7:33 pm
Why trade good players for picks when our GM can’t seem to hit on draft picks?
October 27th, 2019 at 8:20 pm
Yeah. How smart? Every time somebody plays good for this sorry excuse of a team should become trade bait. Let’s just keep the bad ones and trust our draft process that’s working wonderfully!
October 27th, 2019 at 10:21 pm
How bout we trade our picks for players lol
October 28th, 2019 at 8:50 pm
If there was still a year on his contract, they would have been able to turn him into a 2nd round pick right now, I bet.
Thanks, Jason Licht.
