Is Titans running back Derrick Henry a weapon? You bet.
(BTW, why don’t folks use the first-syllable abbreviation for Titans like people use for the Cardinals or Jaguars or Vikings? Wouldn’t this abbreviation make the world just a little more pleasant?)
Dude is a beast. But is he a beast that cannot be tamed? Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians seemed to think that in his remarks yesterday to the local pen and mic club.
“Yeah, because this cat’s really fast,” Arians said. “[If] you give him a crease, he can take it to the house. He’s a different – more like [Todd Gurley] – you’ve got to get him, and get him before he gets started. He’s a really good outside-zone screen runner, and they play to his strengths.”
Let’s put it this way: Joe isn’t sweating Henry. The Bucs have the best rush defense in the NFL. And they’ve shut down Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey (once, and much of the second duel), Todd Gurley and Alvin Kamara.
Is Henry that much better than those guys? Nope.
Look, if you shut Henry down, then you only have to worry about Ryan Tannehill.
Uh, oh. Joe just remembered: He’s a backup and backups feast on the Bucs, nevermind a team with an insulting pass defense.

Titans and Taneyhill live off of play action. Stop the running game and you will be able stop the Titans. Knowing the Bucs the whole world will know who AJ Brown is by Sunday evening. Cory Davis isn’t a slouch either.

Henry is a big dude.. He is not like the speedy, agile type.. If he gets 2 or 3 yards to build momentum, he will be a wrecking ball, bulldozer, sledge hammer pounding the defensive line wearing them down until The Titans are bust off big chunks… Tannehill is not as poor at qb as JW… RT could have a good game complimenting Henry’s run game and Put the Bucs in a tailspin early!

Extra opportunites… just stop..josh allen For the bills gives other teams just as much “extra opportunities” as jameis gives other teams… yet they can play defense and somehow we cant. A pass defense that gives up 310ypg has nothing to do with “short fields”. You dont like jameis thats fine… but dont use jameis as a scapegoat for our sorry axx defense. Just like folks who used to bash mccoy and somehow thought this defense would be better with a fat unmotivated ndamokong suh. Where the hell is this tough guy suh? Gerald mccoy has more unnecessary roughness calls than suh has this year. Every since suh got Married, he got SOFT! He cant even hit the QB late because he aint never around the QB. #1 run defense means absolutely nothing in a PASSING LEAGUE. We are essentially the smartest kids in the dumbest class

Titans fans are asking if we have faced a Henry type back yet and they wonder if we are really good at stopping the run or is it that we are just so bad at stopping the pass that no one really tries to run on us.
They expect this to be a big game for them.
And with Bruce “lack of preparation H” Arians and Jameis “meaningless stats” Winston and our secondary who can blame them.
And the worst thing is actually the Golf Cart is not making the trip!

We make back-ups look like future hall of famers. This is about the time that BA cardinals started to turn things around in BA first season their. Hopefully this is where it starts for us to. Keyword is hopefully. Go Bucs #endthedrought

Hmmm, see lots of verbiage about our ‘insulting pass defense’ but not a single word about our underperforming, turnover-prone offense. Go figure.

Everyone used to run and pass all over us. Now at least we stop the run, so yeah, the defense is better.
I’m confident they will get even better as our young DBs get snaps.
