Bruce Arians: Bucs Shopping The Trade Market
October 23rd, 2019We’re less than six days from the NFL trade deadline and Tampa Bay is hunting talent.
That was the message tonight from the commanding officer of the Buccaneers’ pirate ship.
“If the price is right the deal is real,” Bruce Arians said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Anything can happen. If somebody wants one of our players, it’s going to cost and to a point where we’re going to say, ‘yes,’ if not, ‘no.’ And we’re looking for guys ourselves. So if that price is right, then yes, we’ll do the deal.”
Joe’s glad Arians brought up “price.” Every guy on a bad team like the Bucs are should expendable — for the right price. Joe never understands why fans would say a current Buccaneer is untouchable.
If the 49ers want to hand the Bucs three first-round picks for Mike Evans, why not do the deal? If a team in the hunt has a major injury Sunday and will part with a third-round pick for Carl Nassib, make the deal. There’s always a price.
Joe also was glad to hear the Bucs are shopping. Joe’s going to assume that’s for a veteran cornerback who can cover reasonably well and/or offensive line depth.

Cmon Lamarcus
Would love to see Griffin play one game…wouldn’t you?
Could he really be worse?
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:51 pm
I don’t think BA kind find enough sides of his mouth to talk out of.
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:52 pm
*can find
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:54 pm
Given our record drafting DL I do not believe Nassib should go for just a 3rd rounder…He may be a second and if he keeps improving given his versatility he might be a late first.
When it comes to the draft a bird in the hand is worth two in the draft. ME going for three #1’s makes sense…one of those picks to replace ME and two extras for team building in the trenches.
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:57 pm
Maybe you would have to give a team Winston and a 3rd just to take him?
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:59 pm
Ryan Griffen Hell no. Preseason is where he belongs. No zip on his balls. Do you even know football? Have you watched him? Fitz is 10x better than Griffin
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:05 pm
The DBs are settled Stale Biscuit said so… this team is playoff ready…
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:12 pm
Bucs have few tradable assets…O.J. Howard is/was certainly one…and far too early to give him away to the Pats as the Bucs are known to do. Other players deemed as “talent” have bloated contracts who other teams wouldn’t want to “take over payments”.
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:17 pm
JW is untradable. Franchise player. Too good of a talent to give to another team.
JW can start today with Panthers, Oakland, Bears, Cowboys, Eagles, Rams, Titans, Broncos, Redskins, Dolphins, Jags, Saints, Bills, Jets, Cinn, Stealers, and Lions. He is better than all those teams Qbs today. With 6 turnovers!!!!…… Or his 1,187 turnovers in 60 games
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:20 pm
Lamarcus is questioning people that they Must not know football like him.
I am dying laughing
Thanks Lamarcus
I won’t be able to sleep now
Lamarcus philosophy :
– everyone is hot garbage
-Jameis is delicious
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:29 pm
Jason will fix all our problems…… wait
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:31 pm
Lamarcus please stop typing
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:35 pm
The Bucs have to many holes that 1 or 2 players just won’t make a difference…
They should be selling and not buying…
Of course their is hardly any value on this team for other teams to offer any real value…
Except for a few WRs and Shaq… Everyone else would be lucky to become backups on other teams…
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:41 pm
I hope this is a smokescreen BS comment by BA. What’s the point getting secondary help when you’re 2-4? I wouldn’t take anything in exchange except draft picks. Plus who wants to play here? Who would want to come to Tampa? No use for player who doesn’t want to be here – they’re not going to put forth effort. Trade on of our TEs for draft pick.
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:46 pm
Man you guys are a bunch of clueless crybabies.
Yeah Marpet, LVD, Vea, Suh, White, OJ, Brate, JPP, Whitehead and yes JAMEIS WINSTON are all backups Tye. Dude get a CLUE.
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:53 pm
I was 100% sure we weren’t going to make any trades but this is intriguing I’d say 70% chance we don’t do anything! But still M1k3 for 3 1st rounders is interesting but I’d pass
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:10 pm
This team sucks, sell, time to completely start over.
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:19 pm
LETS TRADE WINSTON FOR M. MARIOTA MAYBE WE’LL GET IT LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TIME , T.T SHOULD OF GOT WINTSON AND TAMPA SHOULD OF TAKEN M. MARIOTA…….
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:21 pm
MAKE A TRADE FOR M.MARITOA FROM T/T…
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:25 pm
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree…….
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:39 pm
A third round pick for Nassib? So we give up? Is that what we are doing?
How about we let em have Nassib but only if they got a WR/Returner we could use……..And I don’t want no garbage rental. I want a guy I can use better then you(like a Hump) and have him on my team long-term.
If they want Nassib I want something special. Wipe my @$$ with that third rounder!!!
GO BUCS!!!
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:53 pm
Nah we manhandle the Titans and get ready to Storm Seattle!!!
Whether you like the results or not it is win now mode. This team must start winning football games. No options at this point. Unless you got a pass catching RB up for grabs I aren’t giving you nothing.
October 24th, 2019 at 12:19 am
What are you idiots talking about? Now wonder only the Joe’s listen to you opinions, ignorant talk of blowing things up and yes players on this team should be untouchable. Dont listen to people dumb talk especially media talk if they haven’t worked or played for an organization. Not even Odell trade yielded more than one first round pick, we dont have a Khalil mack type player so selling any and everyone is just stupid, no one starts completely over from scratch or raiders would have dealt their quarterback too. So dumb the secondary is young so start over and get new rookies? We need impact players so yea they should be buyers at corner and guard maybe tackle but no one is giving those players up. BA is just messing with your heads at this point
if that price is right, then yes, we’ll do the deal. This sounds like just talk, licht is so dumb he hasn’t done a thing with first or second round picks and is still scared to death of dealing them. Until licht actually goes all in on a premier player not some average nobody for a late round pick it’s just talk.

Yeah whatever 2 all pro cornerbacks are biggest need were traded last week
October 24th, 2019 at 1:40 am
Hopefully Licht trades for more DBs for Todd Bowles.
October 24th, 2019 at 2:00 am
What…and in Jason Licht, we trust ?
October 24th, 2019 at 5:38 am
Oh yeah baby, Bucs going to win 9 of their last 10 (they’ll drop one to ATL on a rare bad day) and shock the world. That stadium is going to rocking too. Sellouts baby! Yawssey!
October 24th, 2019 at 5:43 am
Pewter Power… Congrats, you’re the only one who made sense out of this silly comment by BA. Most of the rest actually made Jason Licht look good … and I didn’t think that was possible.
Would any of you be talking trade-trade-trade right now IF the Bucs were 6-0, even IF we had to win every game 55-40? Pretty sure that most (except tmaxcon) would be saying ‘Thank heaven we have a dominating offense while our young, inexperienced Secondary gains experience’.
Well, in actuality WE HAVE THAT TEAM. It showed up in the Rams’ game when it played relatively error-free COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL FOR BOTH HALVES OF THE GAME. Our defense took away their run & forced the Rams to be one-dimensional. The Rams responded nicely, like a Super Bowl runner-up should respond, by using a strong passing game to stay close. Our defense responded to that by forcing a bunch of turnovers … WHICH OUR OFFENSE WAS ABLE TO CAPITALIZE ON. Yes our defense allowed 34 points (the other 6 pts allowed belong to our offense because of the Pick-6), but it did ENOUGH right for us to win the game. And oh yes, our defense also contributed 7 pts of its’ own to our offensive production by scoring on that fumble return. SOLID COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL for a full 60 minutes.
That SAME TEAM also showed up in the first half of the Giants’ game. We were ahead 28-10 at the half … then we blew it. Bucs’ offense scored on EVERY DRIVE in the first half of that game … 6 drives, 3 TDs & 3 FGs (one of those TDs off a fumble forced by our defense). Then in SEVEN possessions in the 2nd half, our offense went armadillo & scored a grand total of 3 points. Sorry, but THAT’S ON COACHING.
Point being: the POTENTIAL to play SOLID, COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL is there. We’ve seen it. What’s NOT there is the capability to play CONSISTENT COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL. The front end of our defense isn’t producing much of a pass rush, which isn’t helping the back-end, but it is doing some other things very well. The back-end of this defense needs GAME EXPERIENCE … period (well, and to sit VHIII & MJ Stewart so our youngsters can learn). And until they can build that, our Bucs NEED this offense & S/Ts to produce points, to minimize their own turnovers, and to control the clock. We’ve seen flashes of that; now we NEED to see it more CONSISTENTLY.
October 24th, 2019 at 5:44 am
Does anyone really believe the Bucs are buyers here? OMG, that’s a bigger lie than not needing to rebuild, we “like the players we got” or that the DBs are “totally fixed.” But what do I know…Bruce’s boys Arrington and Perriman and really been impact players, and Winston’s problems are solved too.
October 24th, 2019 at 6:30 am
Simple. We have not done well with our 2nd round picks through years. Trade all #2s for an OL or DB. Done!
October 24th, 2019 at 6:54 am
Hopefully the Glazers have told them play with the toys you bought

..
Maybe the next GM will do better
Last spring I posted here that the Bucs should trade every pick in the 2019 draft for a corresponding pick in the 2020 reasoning that we simply could not improve that much with the 2019 draft picks
October 24th, 2019 at 7:39 am
This team does not have even one player, not one, who would command more than a 1st round pick. Yes, Evans is the best WR in team history, but he is a low 1st or 2nd round pick at this point in terms of trade value.
Maybe Godwin is a 1. Maybe Howard. Who else? No one.
Jameis? Maybe a 4th. Probably a 6th.
October 24th, 2019 at 7:49 am
Who wants the bucs garbage players. Should have traded Howard to the patriots when they had a chance. The more he plays the more his trade value goes down.
October 24th, 2019 at 8:41 am
Man you guys are IDIOTS!!! I wish you could smell the $h!t you’re typing – seriously. How does this team not have talent because bad games? Could it be game management? Coaching? Development? Get a damn clue you idiots- this is isn’t madden- takes time to coach our horrendous secondary- most of this fan base is a joke! The stupidity from FB made it here.
October 24th, 2019 at 9:17 am
Jason, do not make a trade. The other GM’s are much smarter than you. You will get fleeced.
October 24th, 2019 at 9:45 am
10 more games for J & J
October 24th, 2019 at 10:10 am
Yes, Evans is the best WR in team history, but he is a low 1st or 2nd round pick at this point in terms of trade value.
What the hell are you talking about? Lol some crazy talk here…. the teams records are what determines low or high first rounds you know after the season is over. Or if a playoffs wants him or a ranking team wants him. That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard.
October 24th, 2019 at 11:05 am
Lamarcus is right…. Bucs fans are stupid for hating Jameis.
October 24th, 2019 at 11:20 am
I would hate to see OJ Howard go, he’s cheap and he’s an incredible talent, but we aren’t using him.
Even worse, teams are offering only 2nd/3rd round pick for him. This shows Licht’s horrible draft prowess. At the time of the 2017 NFL Draft, we had already re-signed Cam Brate and did not need a TE. Instead of drafting for need (OL. DE, CB, RB) we went with best available according to Licht’s draft board. GOOD TEAMs draft best available, unfortunately the Bucs have not been a good team for quite a while. I leave you with some of the great picks that would have filled a need that were drafted not far behind Howard (Pick 19):
Tre’Davious White CB (Buffalo #27)
T.J. Watt DE/OLB (Pittsburgh #30)
Ryan Ramczyk OT (Saints #32)
Dalvin Cook RB (Minnesota #41)
Cam Robinson OT (Jaguars #34)
October 24th, 2019 at 11:43 am
Is it me or why does Licht always have that stupid ass look of the JOKER?
October 24th, 2019 at 12:49 pm
Idiots talking about trading OJ. What happens when BA and Byron are gone in two years and some new guy will be using TE routes much more. I love Brate but him and Jameis are two peas in a pod and unless JW can get us to a pretty playoff run, he’s gone. Brate and his large contract is the TE to be traded.
October 24th, 2019 at 6:22 pm
We give someone a 3rd round pick to take Jason Licht!
