Joe is confused.
The Bucs have a sports science team but Bucco Bruce Arians seems to think the scientists are only responsible for physical performance.
After today’s beating at the hands of the Stinkin’ Panthers, Arians was adamant in his postgame news conference that the sports science team did “a hell of a job” preparing the players physically following the strain of traveling to England to play. It’s on the coaches, Arians said, to get the players right mentally.
Joe’s not buying that for a minute.
Since when is mental acuity not tied to physical readiness?
The Bucs came out flat and got rolled. Mike Evans was unfocused. So was Jameis Winston. The secondary? Well, they looked like themselves. Joe certainly didn’t see an offensive line that was sharp and physical. But most of all, the Bucs didn’t look as sharp and or as fresh — mentally and physically — as the Panthers, who arrived a day before the Bucs. They had a different philosophy to the travel to England, as Joe outlined the other day.
Joe’s not saying the sports science team made the wrong call for traveling overnight Thursday into Friday and keeping players awake through Friday’s afternoon practice. There’s a lot that goes into the sports science stuff. But the reality is there is no evidence they did a “hell of a job,” like Arians explained.
And if it’s really not on the sports science team, then the largest coaching staff in the NFL dropped one heck of a clunker in a huge division game.

I agree Joe it’s all Dirk Koetter’s fault, oops he’s gone now. I mean it’s Bruce Arians fault. Different staff and still a QB that is according to you above mentally and not physically ready. So it has to be the sports science guys fault this time.

OJ Howard did a hell of a job catching the ball at the Rays game though while breaking protocol. And Arians was staying up to watch that too.
Who am I kidding, they should have flown in overnight Friday into Saturday to really test this team.

Why keep throwing shade on ME13? that ball was straight over the back of his head. Not where it should have been. Should have been inside more, up the seam 2-3 yards and an easy touchdown.

Why not fly out there a few more days in advance to get acclimated? They have a bye week the next week to recover.

Joe I understand you. It’s like change coach nothing changes. You change GM nothing changes. You change players nothing happens we still keep losing so we try to find fault everywhere. I think we have to blame the owners. That’s the only constant in all of this

I look for Bucco Bruce to retire at the end of this season, citing health issues as his reason, even though he may be in good health. Who would want to stick around a losing franchise like this?
Glaziers seem to only care about making a profit on the franchise. They surely are not football people.
Licht has made horrible draft decisions and cant seem to put together a winning roster.
Winston has not progressed in 5 years. I truly believe he cares and is giving his best effort, but he is not a franchise qb at the NFL level.
I could go on about the rest of the roster, but you all know the deal. This franchise has a losing mind set that they cannot shake for some reason.
The bottom line though. It all starts with the Glaziers.

I am starting to believe the Doug Williams curse from 30 years ago 😊😊. Since Williams left the Bucs have done nothing but lose. 5 different HCs numerous players drafted and signed still the same resort, looking to the next years draft and hoping I was just thinking Dungy was probably the winningest coach in Bucs history. Gruden got us a Super Bowl but down hill after that or is it bad ownership

Turn overs makes the team flat…I dont want to start over but we have too many holes to pay JW 30mill +….but how do we improve..our GM just signed an extension..we dont groom anyone….Bucs life…going to be a long time before we are competitive again…my dad is 71 and has given up…

Nobody punts on first down, not even Tampa Bay. Line from the early 80’s flick “Warlock.” The NFL should show mercy on us and leave this train wreck of a franchise in London. We can throw a party at Ray Jay and dismantle the stupid pirate ship and set it adrift before the next hurricane.
