Two Stars Shut Out

Joe’s not sure how the Bucs couldn’t find a way to complete a pass to Mike Evans, but somehow they did today.
That’s not why Evans earns about $20 million per year.
Yeah, it happens, but Evans had been riding a streak of 65 consecutive games with a catch. He’s versatile and strong, and Joe puts a lot on offensive coordianator Byron Leftwich for not finding a way to get Evans involved. Joe hates to throw love at the Saints cornerbacks, but Marshon Lattimore and Eli Apple are quality starters. (Do the Bucs have one quality corner?)
Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, said in a radio postgame interview that “doubling Mike” freed up Chris Godwin for another big day.
The other Buccaneer shut out was Shaq Barrett, who entered the game as the best defensive player in the NFL through four games. Barrett was just about invisible with one solo tackle and an assist.
The Bucs had no sacks and just three quarterback hits. Joe warned fans about the inevitable Barrett decline. It wasn’t to knock Barrett; it was to point out the pass rush really wasn’t there without him and the blitzes largely haven’t gotten home.
Sadly, that played out today against a backup QB.

Joe these guys did not put in the effort today, a couch fan can tell that much. Godwin is the only guy that came to play today, Where this super talented tight end that is gonna be impossible to cover in the NFL ?

Blame whatever you want doesn’t matter when your secondary is toast. Mike could of have 200 don’t matter. Vh3 scares me even if he was our back up corner

They had a great pass rush, we had none. The had good coverage, we had none. VH3 is probably being treated for third degree burns. To slow, to small. We got beat by a much better team period. No one Buc lost this, no Saint won it. Their TEAM is better then our team.

For us to win in there house two years and a row would have been nuts and most likely was not going to happen against the Saints. That being said the Bucs are missing the details it takes to be a good football team. Continue to grind it out and come back next week ready to play! Go Bucs!

How about the “inevitable Winston decline” too? Michael Thomas was killing them. Where was the double team on him, he is a very good possession receiver but only a horrible Buc secondary could let him loose like that. Winston was simply holding on to the ball way too long and he appears to be getting slower and less mobile at keeping plays alive. Bad day at the office for Tampa

Secondary was horrendous and I love Evans but I really hate his route running. Lots of blame to go around.

Our “probowl ” qb shoulda had 4pics today. 2 got called off due to penalties, the other 2 were dropped. NO WAY he’s a 100million dollar qb. Can’t wait til he’s gone

It didn’t look like Evans was trying too hard, either. I guess I wouldn’t after I saw how Jameis started the game.
Hope they stop back by Tampa so Jameis can pick up his brain, he knew he was forgetting something when he packed

Why in the world can they not get our TE’s involved in this offense? I thought a coach plays to the strengths of its players? The offense should not fizzle out just because Evans is erased. They’re are too many other playmakers for that to be happening. So frustrating.

Evans had one catch today….but he dropped it.
Was a big drop too that could of really helped this offense set a tone and find a rythum.
Mike Evans has done this a few times in his career. He gives us these no show games too frequently.
Thanks for nothing and it’s sets us up for a London home game that we really need. We need a big game from you and it’s against Bradberry who controlled you most of the game last time. You make it hard to be consistently faithful in you cause you keep noshowing.
And yes it’s a high standard but like Joe said it’s 20M we are talking about. Your overall performance has not been close to good enough this year. Take your 190 and stuff it if you gonna drop a zero on us.

Losing hope shoulds don’t count in sports. Dotson should be good enough to not get thrown belly-up when got the ball and a big drive to change the outcome.
And where does that should get us? It gets us nowhere. See how that works?
Let’s get back to reality and focus on what actually did happen. Cause last time I checked if shoulds actually mattered we would be 3-2 right now……And that’s a fact Jack.

Not having a true 3WR and not using brate or oJ allows def to stop ME13 , only Goodwin can’t not win the game , until we get our 2 star TE involved this offense will struggle.
If your not gonna use brate or OJ trade them for secondary help and watch how they light up the league with a good OC or Hc that know how to use them.

I love Mike and believe that he’s a special talent, BUT there are times when adversity gets the better of him. This was absolutely one of those times.

How come the tight ends don’t get balls? How come guys like LVD can’t kick the Saints from one end to the other? Cos the team is adjusting to STILL ANOTHER NEW HEAD COACH!! That’s the reason this talented offense can’t get consistent. I hope they do it next week, but man, I hate these London games! Why do they cost us home games?

I saw Mike Evens and OJ Howard open a couple times each today it wasn’t his fault Jamie’s was rattled and didn’t get them the ball. He even could have checked the ball to ROJO one time and he ran right passed him. The O-line
Let all that good talk from last week blow up there heads and they didn’t show up to play today.
