Tony Dungy And A Panel Of Noted Experts Rank The Bucs As The 11th Best 2-2 Team
October 3rd, 2019And the disrespect flows.
So what if the Buccaneers just embarrassed the defending NFC champions on their home turf. They are a bottom third NFL team, per a pile of collaborting big names that includes Father Dungy.
Joe is a little steamed. What disrespect.
The weekly Associated Press power rankings are out and the Bucs are ranked 22nd in the NFL, and 10 other teams at 2-2 are ranked higher. The Stinkin’ Panthers (2-2) are at No. 19, despite the Bucs beating them with Cam Newton.
Joe just wants to call out all the names on this esteemed panel, which votes weekly and the AP tabulates their ballots to come up with the rankings that are published in newspapers nationwide. (Yes, those things still exist.)
You all know Ira, but here is the rest of the panel that collectively thinks our beloved Bucs suck. And yes, when you’re ranked 22nd, the group that puts you there thinks you suck.

There are no “experts” in predicting games in any sport. Just opinions some wellthought out some just outright stupid
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:24 pm
Et tu, Ira? Et tu?
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:27 pm
It’s real simple. Prove them wrong. Winning the next three games would be a great start
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:28 pm
Joe – not sure why you think this is disrespectful. Simple, they are ranked 11th out of 13 teams that are 2-2. –Joe Just because of one game we think we should be ranked higher and quickly forget we lost to a bad Giants team last week.
Perhaps once we’re able to win multiple games in a row we can make this argument.
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:29 pm
I can’t remeber, who picked the Bucs to win over the Rams on the last JBF Podcast? Oh, no one. Actually, Rock Riley picked the Bucs to beat the Rams. –Joe Not one of you. Nor did I think they’d beat LA. So I think it’s fair to hold the Bucs in a suspicious light until they start winning the games they should and pulling out a few they shouldn’t. It’s not disrespect, its reality. Who on the JBF Podcast picked the Bucs to beat NO this Sunday? Just Roc? You’ll have to listen. –Joe

Stack ’em up and they will change their tunes…
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:38 pm
They are 2-2 not 3-1 and the defense is giving up a boat load of points. Maybe other people don’t think they can score 40 points a game to keep winning.
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:45 pm
A win against the Rams was a pleasant surprise… A surprise none the less..
The defense getting turnovers giving the offense short field is not likely to happen in every game..
No matter how much people argue, Winston int for pick 6 to keep the Rams in the game at the end and a chance to lose that game is also against them…
Prove it wasn’t a fluke against the Saints and people take notice.. return to turnovers and lose and the Bucs prove everyone right about them!
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:54 pm
DB – if not for a kick that is made 99% of the time the Bucs would and should be 3-1. They lost on a fluke. However, if you break it down they should have won and should be 3-1.
October 3rd, 2019 at 3:57 pm
Let ’em think that. It’s better to fly under the radar. Let’s see if the Bucs can change some minds. Nothing said here or anywhere else will be able to do that.

There is teams that are consistently good, teams that are consistently bad, and teams that are consistently inconsistent. At least I feel we have gone from bad to at least inconsistent. Next move is to consistently good!
October 3rd, 2019 at 4:20 pm
Never quite understood Buccaneer fans obsession with getting national respect.
Do agree that technically we should be ahead of the Panthers since we beat them in their home but then we should be behind the Giants who are ranked 23.
Got no problems with us still being behind the Panthers. We are talking about a team that has finished in the cellar for what feels like 2 full decades. Earn it the old fashioned way Bucs!!

Notorious Buc haters in Kirwan, Legwold, and Vrentas. Go figure.
October 3rd, 2019 at 5:08 pm
Before the Rams, I had the Bucs sitting around 25. Can’t blame a panel who are does not spend everyday analyzing the Bucs picking them at 19. I am sure they want to make sure the Ram’s game was not a fluke. If we beat two good teams in row (Saints), then yeah, I think this panel will consider the Bucs at around 10.
October 3rd, 2019 at 5:11 pm
Dungy, the man who cost the Bucs multiple chances at a Super Bowl. Don’t really trust his opinion. 55 points Dungy, more than you scored in two months with your pathetic offenses.
October 3rd, 2019 at 5:14 pm
That’s nothing a few wins won’t take care of
October 3rd, 2019 at 5:37 pm
A missed chip shot FG away from being 3-1.
These peeps are clowns!
October 3rd, 2019 at 6:01 pm
Literally, who cares? It’s not college football, the games are decided on the field. Just win and we’re good.
October 3rd, 2019 at 6:04 pm
This coming from the coach who could only muster ONE Super Bowl win having the Leagues best offense and defense for almost eleven straight years??? Dude does NOT belong in the hall of fame!
October 3rd, 2019 at 6:18 pm
We haven’t done anything yet. Can’t expect them to crown us when we have consistently been bad. That being said I think we should be ranked 18th in the power rankings. We have to stay hungry and humble, and our time will come.

You wanna talk about disrespected? Imagine how the 10 teams feel being ranked below us in this power ranking.
October 3rd, 2019 at 7:44 pm
To those who say if Gay makes that FG we’re 3-1. Yeah true dat.
However if Cam was healthy we would have lost that Carolina game…we wouldn’t have the opportunity for VHG to make that game saving stop…a healthy Cam would have trucked him or anybody else for that matter. I do not like Cam but the truth is the truth. Actually I’m starting to mellow about Cam. I think I disliked him because he is a bitter rival and plays a style that peoes his rivals. Got to give it to him though. In his prime which seems to be past…he was a top QB in this league.
Yeah we could have easily won the SF game and we could have lost the LA game after that pick six. Give the D and the O credit for winning that game.
The truth is simple. It’s the NFL and we could easily be anything from 4-0 to 0-4 and that’s not hyperbole. 2-2 actually seems about right to me considering our play.
Again though…it’s not where we are right now…it’s the direction we’re heading. Who among us sees improvement and a lot of potential to get a lot better as the season progresses?
I do…I do…I do.

I also said the Bucs would beat the Rams. They’re going to beat the Saints too. Bridgewater will be on his back a lot.

I notice you aren’t in the NFL HOF either. Your stupidity shows it.
October 3rd, 2019 at 8:53 pm
Is this the same panel that had them in the top 10 at the beginning of 2017 after the 9-7 2016? Yawn………………You can probably figure out the top and bottom 5 teams. The other 22 are pretty much interchangeable.
October 3rd, 2019 at 8:54 pm

October 3rd, 2019 at 9:38 pm
Joe. why does it bother you so. At the end of the day, either they are right or wrong. You play the game and let the chips fall where they may.

Opinions are like assholes.
October 3rd, 2019 at 10:25 pm
Kobe, we all know you are never right so please stop talking about a PP trade or it can never happen. Will you leave JBF for the 9th time if we get him?
October 4th, 2019 at 12:16 am
Considering how we lost to the Giants and our inability to stop a rookie qb, we deserve the disrespect. The win against the rams kinda evened things out. If we beat the saints (good chance) and they still disrespect us, then I will be pi$$ed.
October 4th, 2019 at 12:33 am
Buc fans don’t crave national attention, we already get that from pundits beating up on us and kicking us when we are down. All we ask if you are going to give us national attention when we play bad do the same when we play good. People in here talking about we deserve disrespect is BS, when other teams play bad the don’t get treated like us. Cleveland played bad for 2 games has the same record as us, considered a better team. The Ravens considered a better team, though the games they one were against lesser opponents. I would be alright without getting national attention, but be fair, don’t just give it to us when we screw up. P

Dingy is so overrated himself. Credit him for a positive culture change on the Buc’s. But he failed to deliver multiple championships when he had an excess of talent. His biggest crime and one that can never be forgiven was pushing his
Chum the assclown known as Lovie Smith on the Glazers. That act set this franchise back several years and was so blatantly disrespectful to this fan base that his name should be removed from the Ring of Honor.

October 4th, 2019 at 9:00 am
Phil Simms actually gave us props on inside the NFL this past week as a 2-2 team that could make the playoffs. Want to shut the experts TFU, beat the two top NFC teams back, to back in their house. No one picks us because we usually follow up something good, with something bad. If we want to be taken seriously, we have to beat N.O., seriously.

Not sure what you are expecting Joe. We have proven time and time again that one big win for the Bucs means nothing for the season. I agree that i felt disrespected when the rankings came out but we haven’t earned anything yet. Hopefully Sunday we earn some trust back from people who thought we were going to be something last year.
