Not Taking Credit
September 29th, 2019Last week Joe brought word that Los Angeles sports television personality and former Rams quarterback Vince Ferragamo claimed America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, was playing the best ball of his career.
And a big reason for that, Ferragamo said, was that Jameis was working with Bucco Bruce Arians.
So today in his postgame presser, Joe asked Arians for his reaction to Ferragamo’s words. Arians chuckled and looked embarrassed.
“I can’t take any credit,” Arians said. “I have to give that to Clyde [Christensen] and Byron Leftwich. [Jameis] is playing, really, realy well right now. Even that interception, he was trying to throw one in there and I don’t blame him because he has the talent to do it. He just has to get that pass a little bit higher.”
Earlier in the same press conference, Arians remarked, “Jameis has played extremely well since the first week.”
The more Jameis plays like he has the past couple of weeks, the more his price tag goes up. The way Joe looks at it, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht needs to re-sign Jameis and then use the franchise tag on Shaq Barrett.

Thank you, Vince Ferragamo (no, not the Hulk, Lou Ferrigno), I always thought you shoulda started over Pat Haden.

Cant Argue. Jameis played great today.
And I think a ton of the credit goes to Coach Arians.
And how about our O-line?
I thought I’d be hearing Arron Donalds name All day.
He made a few plays- but didnt dominate the game, like he so oftenndoes.
Thank you Alex Cappa.

Add this to the EXCUSES pile but the interception was caused by DSmith’s man who hit Jameis’s arm as he was releasing the ball.
Watch the replay from the end zone angle and it’s clear.
Looked like he was going for Evans at the first down marker but the ball sailed.
Watch the tape my friends it will reveal to you what the real football fans already know.

Great to celebrate a Bucs win! Very pleased with the Oline!
September 29th, 2019 at 11:07 pm
The Jameis that played today can win a crap-ton of games in the NFL.
Interceptions are going to happen, and that one was bad, but he kept his cool, didn’t freak out and connected with Evans on that huge bomb.
Hell of a game by Winston & Co.
Keep it up Jameis, we’re all counting on you.

Great game for Bucs fans. Good to see that coaching is getting through to Jamies. He threw some great passes and all of his teammates helped. Keep up the good work.

Huge credit to the offensive line today. Don’t forget too, you had Dotson and Jensen limited this week and questionable today! Last year after the lost they wouldn’t even have played. 2 guys injured and questionable today and the o line pulls a game like that out! Pretty impressive!

Not for nothing but correct me if I’m wrong. Is there another qb in the league who is expected to or has to score 50+ points to win a game?
Any other QBs expected to literally have a perfect game week in and/or week out in order to get paid? Certainly wasn’t the case with Cousins or Goff.
I’ll leave it at that but the expectations Jameis is asked to meet far out weigh those of his peers and they’re making 30+ mil per year not a measly 21-24. Seems to me like those numbers are reserved only for QBs like Jameis and Dak, I’ve said too much.
September 29th, 2019 at 11:19 pm
How many record must the young man break? How many games must he give the def an incredible half time lead?
Did you know that in his 22 or so wins only 9 have had a 100 yards of rushing (not including his rush yards). Wentz is like 90% of his wins have had 100 yards of rushing.
Jameis is expected to do more with less and to take less money to do so. Man forget all that, if I’m Winston’s agent I’m flying the coop and moving out west or up north or anywhere outside of Florida.
If he doesn’t leave Tampa then I’ll concede that he truly does make horrible decisions.

Worthless Cowboys losing to a bad backup QB…

I think they should try hargeaves in the slot with bunting or dean on the outside..i think hargreaves is better in slot.. gotta switch something up if this happens against teddy bridgewater

PAY JAMEIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 30th, 2019 at 1:19 am
@Capt Tim . You are probably right but I thought it was Marpet going against Donald most of the game. Either way, the whole O Line played their hearts out today. What an awesome game. I still haven’t stopped watching highlights and post game pressers which is why I am posting this at 120AM. It’s what I do after a win.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Jameis Winston 22tds and 9ints in his last 11 games.
That’s a full 16 game pace of 32tds 13ints and over 4,500 yards
“but, but, but, but what about the picks?” #whoops
If you would have been told that Jared Goff would be the one to throw for 500 yards and 40 points, Jameis would have been written off immediately. But nope. My man lays a fat 55 burger in the coliseum and leaves the media stumbling for a new narrative.
Gotta love it.
Ladies and Gents, after suffering more signature moments being robbed from him than maybe any other QB in recent history, this was an all-timer
The Kid has arrived

The words that kept coming to my mind all game were COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL. Our Bucs’ TEAM yesterday played incredible COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL, and even the commentators aid that after the victory. That was the most exciting Bucs’ game I can remember in a looong, looong time.
Bucs won the turnover battle 4-1. Bucs won the TOP battle 32:36 to 27:24. Bucs scored TDs instead of FGs (for the most part) and did awesome in the Red Zone against a good defense. Bucs’ defense shut down the Rams running game & made them one-dimensional. Yes our Bucs’ defense surrendered 34 points, but this young defense stood tall & never caved. They kept fighting back. And so did the Bucs’ offense, thankfully led by Good Jameis. And so did our S/Ts, with Matt Gay bouncing back from a very rough game last week. THIS is what this TEAM can be.

Everyone hates him, everyone loves him, FICKLE,
fans and media alike.
I’ve always liked him….
Go Noles
Go Bucs

Double nickle…enjoy the victory bro and stop with the racist comments. Poor Jameis is a millionaire and soon to be even richer. Don’t criticize the fact he makes a “measley 21-24 million this year, the last year in the 5 year contract he signed as a rookie. The man is playing the best ball of his career right now and if he keeps this up, the contract with the Bucs is a no brainer and he will be rewarded handsomely. Our defense is still messed up and he shouldn’t have to score 55 points to beat any team. The Rams are a super bowl caliber team and just got beat on their home turf, in a sold out stadium nonetheless. 2-2 don’t look so bad and if our rookie kicker stops getting the yips we can win a ton of games this year. Most fun game to watch for me and my crew at the fire station than I’ve witnessed in years. Go Bucs!

Team-Friendly Brady-like contract!!!
5 years, 100 million. 75 million guaranteed. 25 million at signing.
Boom.
Then, we can afford to extend Chris Godwin, Howard, Brate and our offensive nucleus.
A team friendly contract would also help us to sign Jalen Ramsey in the offseason.
We must extend him now!!
Jameis is only 25. So by the end of his 5 year contract, he will only be 30.
He can then try to become the highest paid QB in the NFL.
Does he deserve it now? Hell no. But with the way he works and the way he LOVES football.
In 5 years time, by the age of 30, Jameis could be one of the best QB’s in the NFL.
Shaun King de-volved. J-Fr- de-volved.
Jameis is EVOLVING.
Extend him now!
@Jameis- prove you love your brothers. Prove you love your team. Sign a cheap contract so your boys can get PAID too!
September 30th, 2019 at 4:24 am
unlike that PUNK Joe Flacco!
His contract destroyed the Ravens!!!
September 30th, 2019 at 4:53 am
You got it the other way around. Sign Shaq Barrett and franchise tag Winston.
September 30th, 2019 at 5:02 am
@rob that’s pretty cool! Thanks to you guys for everything you do. Glad you had a day to enjoy the game with your “team”. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
September 30th, 2019 at 6:50 am
4 games! He’s played well but it’s 4 games. What’s the rush?!
DB55- You are literally rushing to defend a guy that NOBODY has criticized. I saw his arm get hit too. Even with that throw, he might’ve had one of the best games of his career. He did some things that will not show on the stat sheet like throwing the ball away or taking a sack as opposed to letting the ball loose. Those are the signs of maturity we need from our franchise QB.
Couple that with how well we ran the ball (Those penalties were total B.S.!), and how resilient the defense played, this team is scary.

How’s Matt Ryan looking in that Koetter offense?
September 30th, 2019 at 9:26 am
@Joe, am I not remembering correctly in that Barrett’s one year contract has a provision that we cannot franchise tag him? If so, that move was almost as slick as the spin move he put on the right tackle for the strip sack.

Not earlier than yours, but like minds! I was a little off on the score though! LOL!

Script….flipped! Other way around. Goff will have 5 turnovers and the Bucs cruise to victory 28-13.

@Rob from one Firefighter to another stay safe.
It was a great win yesterday, felt amazing walking out of that stadium a winner. I don’t get to see many games living in Cali but the last two I’ve gone to win won. Beat San Diego a few years back and now the Rams which was even better since my wife and I went with my old roommate from 20yrs ago who is a fire hard Rams fan and season ticket holder. Although to his credit he told me on Friday he felt we were a trap game. Trap our not the win felt great. And shout out to all The Bucs fans in attendance we represented nicely.

Great Team win! Pitshore?

Why in the world would Jameis want to stay the way he has been treated in Tampa. He can go to a real NFL team after this season and is a fool if he doesn’t. Run young man. Your best football is still ahead of you and the bucs aren’t worthy to have you. Go to a real team.
