Feeding Off Shaq

September 22nd, 2019

Inspiration.

Last week Bucs outside linebacker Shaq Barrett briefly led the NFL in sacks with four. He’s currently second only to Myles Garrett who has five.

Barrett still leads the Bucs. Sadly, no one else on the team has recorded a sack.

In Week 2 at Carolina, Barrett had all three of his sacks come in the same quarter. And to hear a couple of fellow linebackers, the Bucs defense was fueled by Barrett’s play.

“It really lights us up,” Jack Cichy said of Barrett going off. “Anytime you can see one of your guys go out there and make a play, it is awesome, you really get excited. When [Barrett] does it three times in one quarter, it is pretty sweet. That lights a fire under the defense.”

Cichy wasn’t the only one pumped.

“We definitely feed off of that,” Devante Bond told Joe.

The Bucs used a stingy defense to shut down Carolina and pull out a key road division win. And the Bucs are hoping Barrett’s play and the play of the defense goes beyond that Thursday night in Charlotte.

“It can be anyone’s night and when it is your night, we are all going to rally behind you. I think as a defense, we rallied behind Shaq and really bound together. This is what we are all about, which is awesome. We were not going to give up.

“We have to keep building on it. If we practice like we did [last week], we picked it up where we left off, we have to stack them up. Keep stacking days and I like where we are at.”

Bond agreed.

“Our whole goal is to get that ‘W’ and carry that over.”

And facing a rookie quarterback making his first start this afternoon, Bond said Daniel Jones will likely face the same heat as did pouty Cam Newton some 10 days ago.

“We haven’t changed anything,” Bond said of practices last week.

In other words, the Bucs are laying out the welcome mat for young Mr. Jones. Welcome to Tampa.

    “Klueless Koetter the INT whisperer

This shows you how stupid this idiot for the last 3 years is

100 better pass catching tight ends, and Klueless has Stocker trying to catch deep patterns

My Dad was the only one for the last 3 years that was adamant what a mistake and pathetic Klueless was and is

My Dad deserves an official apology…and money

    for all the verbal abuse”

    @Son

I was thinking the same thing. Is the turnover bug the fault of Koetter. Ryan throws his 6th pick already and in the red zone. Ryan only threw 7 all last year.

Just give us your address and I’m sure all of us will send money and apologies.

He said hell no to the fake crocodile tears

    just money”

I think I threw away all me monopoly money sorry Kobe. Didn’t Jameis have a lot of INT’s in his last year at FSU? You just can’t blame those on Koetter. Although I don’t think all the deep throws to the endzone are helping the Atlanta offense. A quick strike style of offense, when successful just puts the defense on the field too quickly, too often.

I think it was Dot that said OJ didn’t didn’t really buy into his blocking assignments at first last year. Every tight end should have a little Stocker in them.
Its part of the job ,see Barber’s TD.
