“Just One Of Those Days”

Ask Bucs fans what scares them about the team and there are a few popular answers.
While some fans are fearless about the roster and say the Super Bowl journey starts tomorrow, others have a quick but counter answer.
The offensive line. That answer is fully fueled by the total debacle two weeks ago against the Browns. Five sacks in one half, plus a few I’m-sorry moments in the huddle for right guard Alex Cappa. And some that-won’t-happen-agains by other O-linemen.
Bucco Bruce Arians summed it up succinctly for San Francisco-area media yesterday, per the Mercury News. “Just one of those days,” Arians said, adding that he would be concerned if the offensive line hadn’t been consistently solid outside of that — in practice and preseason games.
Arians also freely told the Niners media that Jameis Winston sacked himself twice in that game.
Frankly, Joe is more worried about the latter than the former. Jameis is giving up sacks (different from taking a sack) is unacceptable for a veteran quarterback. And those situations often lead to fumbles, something Jameis has been very good at in recent years.
Was it really “just one of those days” for the offensive line? A lot of fans are waiting on that answer, which will be in hand after two games next week against savagely talented defensive lines.

Bucs OLine had 11 of those “just one of those days” last year and the year before. Very flimsy excuse. Winners show up EVERY GAME, not just once in awhile. THAT’S what make them winners.

Everyday will be like that given the fact bucs don’t have a single nfl caliber o lineman on the roster. They have a retired coach on a working vacation padding retirement accounts. BA understands there is no expectations nor pressure from owners to win. Just fake it and smile a lot… bucfan eats that up results are irrelevant and excuses are plentiful…. its a bucs life

I just don’t have as much faith in BA as most fans. Comes up with a lot of flimsy excuses when players screw up. Says a lot of things just to apease fans. On the other hand I have no faith in Licht what so ever or the Glazer’s.

The offensive line debate has bee going on all off season. JW needs to stop getting happy feet as well and step up in the pocket instead overreacting and tucking to early. He left a lot of targets open that game because he bailed to early.

The problem is when Jameis gets in trouble he looks for a way to make a play…..when other QBs get in trouble they look for a way to avoid the sack by getting rid of the ball.
Jameis’ competitive nature is the problem and I am uncertain that can be fixed.

Well I believe they took care of #1 the Secondary and #2 Kicker in the off season. #3 D line at least looks better. #4 the O line will take another year and some high draft picks. Hopeful that Smith turns out to be an asset and not just another lottery winner.

For all the talk about Dee Ford, you would think he’s Reggie White. He’s 6-2 250 and played 3-4 olb his entire pro career. Now as a down lineman, I fully expect us to run at him all game. Get him exhausted in third down.

I think Jameis gets sacked 5 times, no INTs, TEs have a great game and Bucs win.

I predicted the Niners win by 9, however, I am wary about reports out of their camp about Garrapolo’s comeback from injuries. Should be a close game. Their DL should win it for S.F. by 3.

I noticed a contradiction in some Bucs coverage the other day, in that Bruce says his system gets quarterbacks hit (hai Andrew Luck) but if they get the ball out quick they win. When has Jameis ever done that? #heroball

All I want for Halloween is candy, Bucs 5-2, and delaying looking forward to next years draft. Thanksgiving, I want Turkey and Devil Eggs and the Bucs 7-4 . Christmas is here, the Bucs are 9-6, and Santa got me a Devin White jersey. Final game and have weird feeling of relevance as a fan. A party for Bucs with beer, snacks, and more beer. The family sporting Jerseys, and we watch Jameis take us ahead in the final drive against Hou. Bucs Win!..Bucs Win! We playoff bound via the Wild Card spot.

Coaches try things in the pre-season to see if they will work. They also don’t show all their cards in the pre-season. We will see some looks tomorrow we haven’t seen yet. Yes, Jameis needs to take care of the ball, but I’m more concerned with how much time he’s gonna have. The guy who said he needs to get rid of the ball is right on. Really looking forward to our corners not playing 8 yards off!

Winston does hold on to the ball longer than most quarterbacks who succeed in this league. I see many replays where the receivers running shorter crossing routes over the middle are open but his vision is looking further past those shallow routes waiting for something to open up deeper on the sidelines.
He will only be a solid quarterback when he is able to scan the field faster and shorten up his release. Only better decision making and improving his mechanics will lift up his game.

Ali Marpet is a starting caliber offensive linemen an if he was cut today he would be starting on all 31 other teams T M A X I P A D. Once again your negativity clouds your judgement. That being said Marpet is the only starter we have that is above average. Everyone else is average or below.
