Jameis Already Started Camp At One Buc Palace
July 23rd, 2019Bucs veterans report for work Thursday and they’ll hit the practice field to truly launch training camp on Friday afternoon.
But three vets have opted to start early.
Tip your cap to Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Griffin and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston. They’ve joined forces to exercise a “quarterback school” option under NFL rules. That means Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the Bucs’ QB trio will be practicing with the rookies that reported for the season on Sunday.
Buccaneers.com reported that Monday’s action for the quarterbacks included meetings “and even an hour-long practice with individual, team and 7-on-7 periods.”
Of course, this is still underwear football, but it’s truly valuable time for a franchise quarterback learning a new system — and a franchise quarterback desperately in need of a fast start this season to avoid legions of fans and media calling for the Bucs to replace him.

No amount of practice is going to help Griffin. Gabbert too for that matter. We will see if Arians can fix Winston. We should know by midseason.

Get to work boys!

3 days….

I hope the local strip clubs took that into consideration from a staffing perspective. JW and his crew spend some cash in those joints.
July 23rd, 2019 at 7:12 am
Not to mention he wastes his time doing this every year. Is he trying to build on his turnovers? He should take a different approach and take it a little easy, as it may take pressure off of himself.
July 23rd, 2019 at 7:13 am
They need all the work they can get in…good on them!
July 23rd, 2019 at 7:15 am
@Pittshore…if it will make them play better, I’ll go and dance there myself. Of course, that will probably also be the last time they’d think about going to a place like that.
If Winston keeps his head down and playing, that’s good for everyone.

I am amazed by the attention these players get for putting in a little bit of time in practicing and fine tuning their craft. If they lived in the real world they would be working much longer hours for much less pay. The 40 hour a work week mentality dates back to the 1950s and 60s. Anything less than 80 hours a week 48 weeks a year should be considered less than full commitment. Especially when these players are supposed to be considered professionals. Standards people, standards. Where are they?

Jameis needs all the work he can get to prove heâs a franchise qb
July 23rd, 2019 at 8:16 am
Bubba: JoeBuc needs SOMETHING to report on….not THAT big of a level of attention, just an observation, and a good sign
July 23rd, 2019 at 8:19 am
Yup, time to indoctrinate all the newcomers in the finer arts of eating Ws, praising an imaginary god and getting everyone to just say âhey, Iâve just got to play smarter and quit making so many dumb mistakesâ
Remember now, god is goot.
Let the infection spread.

America’s Quarterback haters are forgetting one thing this franchise was a complete embarrassment long before jameis and will be long after jameis has success elsewhere…. outside of sapp and selmon jameis is easily the most talented buc of all time that being said low standard bucfan wouldn’t recognize talent if there were living with Montana and brady under the same roof….

That’s funny that some think that a “fast start” is needed to keep the fans and media at bay this year!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait and see the first missed deep ball in a preseason game!!!!!!!!!!!! If you think fans went wild when CB were in off coverage, wait until the first missed play by the fold like a lawn chair qb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best outcome is when the new GM drafts a new qb and another team over pays for jw3 so the Bucs then will get a 5th round compensatory pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Origin of 40 hour work week with weekends off.
The issue came to a head in 1884, after the Federation of Organized Trades and Labor Unions — a predecessor of todayâs AFL-CIO — called for all workers to have eight-hour days by May 1, 1886. When that deadline wasnât met, labor leaders upped the ante by calling for demonstrations. In Chicago, peaceful marches morphed into violence, with an explosion marring a rally at Haymarket Square on May 4, 1886, leaving seven police officers and four workers dead. Subsequent trials, executions and clemencies for the accused made the eight-hour week a top issue nationally and internationally.

Doing all the right things. it’s nice. however, it doesnt always translates on the field. problem with Winston is he could be a perfect QBR but when this team is 2-6 out of the gate, people will be lined up with pitchforks.
July 23rd, 2019 at 9:28 am
This should give Jameis a good feel for the rookie WR’s and give them a chance to get on the same page with Jameis so they can show what they can do during training camp and the preseason.

JW needs to “Train the Brain”.
His time would be better spent looking at why he throws interceptions and fumbles.
July 23rd, 2019 at 9:53 am
great job QB’s…..
start sharpening the knives!!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!!
July 23rd, 2019 at 10:12 am
@tmaxcon: you either got into the liquor cabinet way too early this morning or perhaps you were on the same short yellow bus as JW. Or just maybe you were driving the bus. Who knows but one thing is for sure; you are lost in space.
July 23rd, 2019 at 11:41 am
@bubba, just stop dude, you wouldn’t last 1 day on a football field, let alone the work they put in. Now go grab your boss a coffee and dont mess it up this time.
July 23rd, 2019 at 11:44 am
You can call Jameis is turnover prone but “fold like a lawn chair” is a weird thing to say IMO.
In tight games / moments he doesn’t typically choke. That’s not been his issue. Go look at the game logs for “realism” . In 2017 he was basically robbed of 4 game winning drives in one season due to special teams / defensive chokes. When was our defense controlling a game and Winston choked it away at the end? Has that EVER happened lol?
July 23rd, 2019 at 11:56 am
and if he plays badly, rightfully so.
July 23rd, 2019 at 12:03 pm
Attitude is far from being a problem with Jameis, and the Ariens offence will teach him options for outlet plays. His football IQ was never in question. playing from behind has been the problem which was caused by the weak defense. Fix the defense and this team will be respectable!
July 23rd, 2019 at 12:07 pm
I give all 3 props. Way to go guys. Great job! Little things are the difference between winning and losing.
July 23rd, 2019 at 1:53 pm
It take an ignorant dolt to make fun of guys that are working to improve themselves. Especially when the guy working to improve are already more successful than the ignorant dolts. If Joe Montana wants to make fun of Jamis and the others, thats fine. He earned that right. If you are an overweight, lazy, gossip who is making fun of someone for putting in effort, you are probably the ignorant dolt. Good luck in life.keep patting yourself on the back, and keep telling everyone how awesome you are.
Criticizing skill and production is fine, but seriously, making fun of someone for practicing more than is require is the mentality of perpetual losers. All three of these guys are working to earn their next contracts. They are trying to do right for themselves and their families. Maybe some of yall should try working a bit harder, and then you can finally graduate from walmart cashier to a real career.
July 25th, 2019 at 8:06 am
For all you Jameis haters. At this same point in their careers. Jameis has more passing yards, a higher qb rating and the exact same number of turnovers as……..Tom Brady.
