A Peek Into The Future
July 23rd, 2019The 2019 season has yet to start and Joe knows of many Bucs fans already looking forward to 2020.
No, smart alecks, not because fans want a new quarterback. But the reason some fans are looking at 2020 with great anticipation can be summed up in two words:
Vegas, baby!
Yes, Joe was in Sin City last week and, among other things, was in attendance when Manny Pacquiao won a split-decision over Clearwater’s Keith “One Time” Thurman at the packed and raucous MGM Grand Garden Arena. It was Joe’s first time at a title fight and it was as cool as could be (thank you Robert!). When Pacquiao dropped Thurman in the first round, the place exploded!
Well, the reason why many Bucs fans are looking forward to 2020 is that the Bucs are scheduled to play the Raiders there. This season is the last for the Raiders in Oakland. They are moving to Las Vegas.
Sunday traveling to the airport, Joe drove right past the new stadium, still under construction. You can see the video below.
Easily seen in the video is the large “window” of the domed stadium which will allow fans a background view of the famed Las Vegas strip. When the weather is nice, the Raiders plan to keep the “window” open.

Lived in Vegas for almost three years and have been there easily 20 times for both work and chill. One thing is sure, is that a very high segment of the population are transplants, and also, work in their jobs on weekends because a large percentage is gaming/entertainment. Sure, there’s IT, health, logistics, etc but all said and done, the metro area isn’t really huge either relative to most other NFL cities. Not a normal place really. And since it’s the place to visit, there will be plenty of visiting team fans there for every game (kinda like our stadium). A good Bucs Fan trip. Not many non-stop flights from TPA, but there are some, and changing planes in LAX and SFO especially sucks…so book early!

I hope we go out to Vegas, and beat the Raiders, in their new home.

The same goes with NOLA away games. Road trip for all visiting team fans.

It’s been a long offseason. Rookie camp is beginning. No need for national media and Las Vegas prediction articles.
