“Don’t Drop The Money”

July 15th, 2019

Jameis issues orders

National television love for Bucs second-year corner turned safety M.J. Stewart?

Joe has either entered The Twilight Zone, or Stewart has an agent who understands NFL Network is aching for fresh content this time of year.

Whatever is going on, Stewart indeed found his way to the Good Morning Football set today and the video below captures his chatter about America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

Stewart explains that last week he saw Jameis out training in the pouring rain with his private trainer, early and long work before Stewart took the field for work.

Jameis is all about leadership, Stewart said. He shared that Jameis even gets on him for not capitalizing on interception opportunities at practice. “Don’t drop the money,” Jameis commands.

Happy and fun times on the Bucs roster.

i guess lavonte david, mike evans, brate, marpet, vea, and about 15 other guys weren’t calling GMF back…

  4. Defense Rules Says:

@MJ Stewart … “From day 1 he (Jameis) was always a leader.” Lots of folks in key positions are vocal; doesn’t make them leaders, just makes them louder than the others. The classic QB ‘leaders’ IMO are Drew Brees & Tom Brady. They consistently play at a high level for starters. They inspire those around them to also play better. As much as anything, they’re a FIELD GENERAL … a coach on the field. Sorry Joe, but I still can’t see Jameis acting in that role. Doesn’t mean that he can’t still be a very good QB, just means that IMO he’s not that super-leader that many Bucs’ fans have been hoping he’ll turn into. Jameis NEEDS a quality team around him to excel.

  5. Snook Says:

    “Don’t mistake activity for achievement.”

  6. Tval Says:

Does drew ever leave sd, his 1st stop, if he were such the “leader” his ENTIRE career? Rhetorical.
Sorry, but it’s HARD to explain football to people who mention Brady without Belicheck. Same with Montana and Walsh. Perfect timing for both sides. Can’t have one minus the other. NEVER forget that.

  7. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Leaders don’t LIE to their own team mates.

  8. Lord Cornelius Says:

lmao anyone watching probably have no idea who this guy is

“… NFL Network is aching for fresh content this time of year.”
I’m sure the double Joes can relate.
In eleven short days the joy of sloshing around in the natural elements of a high humidity, mosquito laden steam room must be overwhelmingly “exciting.”

I’m certain the Joe’s are well aware that each year of life diminishes one’s resistance to the heat.

    That’s why …
On the most miserable of days, when the noxious vapor of automobile discharge wafts its way toward and hovers over the practice fields, 2019 provides relief.
    Send the intern!
Sorry Zach. Stripe earning time awaits …

  10. Pittsshore Says:

Pretty scary that half the team sees him as a leader and the other half can’t wait to see him benched and eventually cut.

  11. cgmaster27 Says:

@DefenseRules, if you think Drew Brees and Tom Brady are “quiet” leaders on the field, you’ve never watched them play or do pre-game speeches.

  12. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

DR agree on you with jameis. I think his leadership has been taken as maybe jameis is just odd or not all there as opposed to being a mature cool leader. No clue how kyler murray’s career will go but he always seemed calm as well as jake fromm, tua and trevor lawrence. I used these 2 because they are young and showed calmness and leadership from afar. I think that Devin White will be the face of the bucs going forward from after his rookie year on and into the future

  13. DB55 Says:

Some moron said that jameis doesn’t make those around him better and I thought to myself wtf do you call brate and hump? Two UDFA who got paid and let’s be honest they aren’t exactly the most athletic and talented players in the league but hey wtfdik. This can’t possibly be the case bc he threw 5 ints against Cinn

  14. teacherman777 Says:

I have criticized the MJ Stewart pick more than anybody.

But I hope he has a great year and hits ppl hard!

He is tough. I will give him that.

  15. BigHog Says:

Leaders don’t Lie to their teammates! Come on man! If you’re going to hold on to something that happened years ago then I’m not the one to even try to change your mind…don’t need to cause your not a BUCS fan if you’re wishing for Famous to fail!! Look around dude Leaders lie as type this message…Go BUCS GO Shuy GO FAMOUS!!

  16. El Buco Realisto Says:

The biggest lie of all was that he was a leader!!!!!! And it was just last year that the fold like a lawn chair qb was exposed once again of lying!!!!!!! But it is smart of the fringe players to kiss jw3 azzzzzzz if they want to stay around One Buc with a job!!!!!! You just have to look up and see that the first and just about the only qualification was to have the lying qb’s back!!!!!!!!Because otherwise reports will be release from the jw3 camp just like the last three incidents!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad that the qb has been exposed for what he “really” is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    #not_my_quarterback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. JA Says:

    DB55-

Unfortunately, the QB position on any team is akin to a politician. You either hate or love them with levels of justification being coherent to bat-sh!t crazy.
The haters seem to think that the Bradys’ Mannings’ and Brees types grow on trees. In 40+ plus years, with the exception of Steve Young who found his niche elsewhere, Jameis is the best QB the Bucs have had.
Under no condition, unless Jameis steps out of line off field or unless a “can’t miss” opportunity offers itself through the draft, would I think of sending him on his way.
A few short years ago many (from the aforementioned BS crazy bunch) thought Mike Glennon was the answer. Mike Glennon?????
I know objectivity is difficult when emotion is involved, but in the end objectivity is all that really matters. Hopefully for us, this new staff will not let the pitfalls of emotion befall them like it did Koetter. When a coach chooses sides within a locker room he loses his team.
Belichick is like dry ice. He would think nothing of dumping Brady if he found someone better. You might not win friends, but you will contend for championships.

  18. gp Says:

Leaders don’t Lie to their teammates!

Being convicted in “The court of public opinion” is NOT proof of guilt
Regardless of party affiliation, race, creed, ethnicity, sex, or anything else you can think of
The only fact in these allegations is a LACK of evidence

    No, I’m not a nutthugger.
I wanted to trade the first for more picks.
And I’ll even defend YOU until the allegations are proven true

Support your team or move on
    SMH

  19. Defense Rules Says:

DB55 … Interesting to me that you glombed onto that one aspect of leadership (that’s the classic illustration of cherry-picking BTW). But to play your game, how do you know for certain that it wasn’t Brate & Humphries who made Jameis look better? They BOTH absolutely worked their tails off to improve their skills.

Remember who their roommate has been all these past years? That’s right, Ryan Griffin … an undrafted QB. Three undrafted players … a QB & 2 receivers … who roomed together & practiced a lot extra together (from what I’ve read) for several years, and 2 of them have now made it big.

So in your opinion, Jameis deserves the credit for Cam & Adam ‘making it’. I’ve seen both of them catch balls that were way off target DB55, and so have you. They BOTH worked their tails off to increase their ‘value’ as receivers (and their catch radius). Especially Hump IMO. To credit Jameis for that does both of them a disservice I think. It’s like giving Johnny Manziel credit for ‘making’ Mike Evans.

  20. ClwJB Says:

does MJ look faster? Maybe JW was shouting “drop some weight!”

All kidding aside, no one outside of Tar Heels fan and some befuddled Bucs fans know who MJ is, much less value his opinion as a first year BUST of Titanic proportions

  21. DB55 Says:

    DR

Freddie Martino had a higher yards per catch avg than anyone else on the team. These guys can’t even make it on the field with other teams if they even make the team. But jw had nothing to do with that either I reckon

  22. DB55 Says:

Why do you guys act like the best QB in the league doesn’t throw ints, incompletions or off target passes? Who is this perfect QB that you compare jw to?

  23. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

“I am your leader. And yeah…I kinda had to sit on the bench for 4 games for groping the uber driver…..and yeah, I lied to ya’ll…..sorry guys…..now let’s play football, and let me be the leader!!” and oops, another turnover.

Time to move on….this will never bring a Super Bowl ring. Never. Book it.

  24. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

“But it’s not like I did other stupid stuff off the field……right? Right???”

  25. 813bucboi Says:

    cgmaster27

    BINGO!!!!….LOL….

ive seen both rip into coaches and players during the game….brady a little more than drew but they’re far from quiet….

maybe alex smith and andy dalton are quiet leaders…..but are they elite?

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  26. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete (formerly known as 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans') ***Rhealist, louden annoying, & tminimum are the worst posters ever!!! Says:

…. But you HAVE to be good when there’s a rookie who is being projected as a somewhat elite player, who is being compared to you… If Mike Edwards is All That like he’s being touted, and he’s also being directly compared to MJ Stewart for the current NFL player that he’s most-similar to, then logic dictates that MJ Stewart is a Baller. Case closed

  27. Figures Says:

I would love to see if NDOG and the others would call me a racist to my face.

I’d pop him right in that mouth of his. He accused me of being racist last year because I criticized his loverboy instead of worshipping at his feet.

    I’m 39 6ft 3. 247 pounds. I bet my house NDOG WOULDNT CALL ME A RACIST TO MY FACE. He’s a keyboard warrior and a stupid f$ck

  30. Joe Says:

I’m certain the Joe’s are well aware that each year of life diminishes one’s resistance to the heat.

Thats true. Will still take broiling heat over frostbite any day. In the immortal words of Curly Howard when he chose to be executed by being burned at the stake instead of beheaded, he explained to Moe, “A hot steak is better than a cold chop any day.”

  31. BringBucsBack Says:

#3 still has a personal trainer? He has like, 6 coaches at OBP!? That can’t possibly become convoluted!?

Of course MJ looks up to #3, he is in his 2nd year in the league and mighty fortunate to still be here. Everyone knows that #3 is the Glazer / Licht love-child. Why would he make a derogatory statement about him on the tele?

After this interview, MJ ran back to his car. Tweets confirm that he just arrived.

  32. chris L Says:

Joe we all love jameis’ leadership but one joe (Lee) states that leadership is rhetoric and that production matters more than people working hard. all we hear about is jameis’ work ethic yet his results have been bad for a #1 overall pick. we ragged on fitz and he was not the answer but he had almost the same amount of wins in the last two years as jameis so we shouldnt be letting any player off the hook, or plank, in bucs land.

  33. BringBucsBack Says:

@CGMaster27 … “if you think Drew Brees and Tom Brady are “quiet” leaders on the field, you’ve never watched them play or do pre-game speeches.”

Never said that either of them is ‘quiet’ CG. Quite the contrary … both are your classic, in-command FIELD GENERALS (THAT’s what I was referring to). No doubt in anyone’s mind on the Saints or Patriots who’s in charge of their offenses. They both set high expectations & inspire team members to reach them … AND help them to attain them through their own performance on the field.

  38. SOEbuc Says:

Hahahahaha. I didn’t know MJ one DROY last year.

  39. Figures Says:

    @jamiesalmighty

I can assure you BOY I’m not fat by any means. And I don’t need steroids with my shape. And I’m confident this so called “loser” would smack you from one side of ray jay to the other.

Now go eat your chicken nuggets that your mommy made you.

  40. stpetebucsfan Says:

    D.R.

Agree completely. I’ve always felt JW’s leadership with the Bucs was a bit too forced.

Although I’m hoping this team is going to be the real deal. For me that would be enough offensive stars to be leaders to make our offense one of the best…not just JW…but ME13…OJ and Godwin will provided quiet leadership…kind of like Marpet.

For you that would be having not only White being a leader but Suh and others quietly emerging.

I want a team soooo great there are dozens of leaders. A team with a D like our SB Bucs where if I ask a single question will start a heated debate.

So who was the leader of the Buc’s great defense?

I can’t pick…leadership throughout that defense and I’d add it was “complementary” or “role” leadership with each guy filling a spot. Sapp’s unabashed joy and love of the game…Brooks for his fierce competitive spirit…Ronde…That team had chemistry.

  41. Reach87 Says:

    Go Bucs anyone?

  42. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Reach87

Only if it is a “Go Bucs” for the overall #1 draft pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. Race to 10 Says:

Leaders do lie all basically everyone on capital hill.

Dont drop the money is great advice or am I crazy. The one thing I got tired of the family talk and I prefer guys act like everyone other successful team in the league and play for the money and threw contract cost the family love and be real about it because you’ll play harder for money. I hope all our players like Mike Evans’s said hell no and make em beg fire interviews when they winning during season

But seriously MJ hope you worked on getting faster bro you wear cement shoes
    😁😁😁

  44. Ndog Says:

No I wouldn’t call you a racist cause I never had called anyone on this board a racists. More lies from you like usual.

  45. DB55 Says:

Winston is a bad leader and terrible of the field.

    https://twitter.com/big_burr/status/1150714336295424000?s=21

  46. Figures Says:

    @NDOG
    Bullsh$t you liar.

I specifically remember where I was that day when YOU accused me and others of being racist for criticizing Winston.

You specifically stated it was racism. And I suggested that you must be black because of your blind support since you said we were racists and you said “I’m not even black” so I then stated it must be because you’re an FSU fan. So stfu you da m liar. (Btw I wear my Winston jersey every Sunday during the season and stated that as well).

It was absolutely you and that’s one reason why I can’t stand you along with the holier than thou attitude.
So I thought to myself “I bet you wouldn’t say it to my face in public”
And I knew you would deny it. Scared as s!!

Chicken sh$t!!! And @jameis almighty too.

  47. Ndog Says:

Not true find the post or your making it up. Plus wanting to fight over a debate, grow up. And no I wouldn’t say it to your face cause clearly you have issues and I’m not a big fan of jail. But I would gladly debate and even get heated with an adult, that can actually use their mind and words And yes did say I was not black, that I do remember, but it didn’t start cause I said anything about anyone bring racist. I couldn’t care or less about race I just love football and get into talking about it and can’t stand people that provide clueless and baseless comments with no merit. So I’ll debate all day but my life is more important than being right, even though in this case I am. Like I’ve said many times I have been here before you and I will be here after you just like Jameis he will have come and gone from this team and I will be here either way.

  48. Figures Says:

Absolutely true. I can’t dig through a years worth of articles to find it and “prove it”. But you’re a da mmed liar. I remember how pissed off I was that you were saying it was because of race that people criticized him.
You just said you remember saying that you weren’t black. So you really think I’m just gonna make the rest of that sh it up outta thin air?

Anyone that disagrees with you is “clueless” doesn’t matter how factual it is.
You’re a blind FSU Winston fan and no stat or ANYTHING will ever change your love for him. If he went to UF you’d have a completely different opinion. If he gets cut or traded it won’t be because of him you’ll blame it on every da m thing under the sun just like every other excuse you make.

    Liar!

  49. JA Says:

    @ Joe

    A “Stooge” quote?
It appears your dated raconteur (haha–I’m giving you credit–after all, it is the Stooges) leads me to believe that you are closer to heat aversion than you think. Think young. It might carry your onward for the next few years until the inevitable dotage comes forth and utters, “send Zach!”

  50. Jameis Winston: Backup QB Says:

The reason Jameis said that is because he acts like the rich uncle who gives their nephew spending money.

  51. Ndog Says:

Well Figures the good news is we will find out soon enough and trust me if he fails and HE IS THE REASON we fail I will be happy to say it’s time to move on. So by December one of us will be right and the other will be wrong hopefully either one of us will be adult enough to admit it

  52. Figures Says:

I don’t care who the QB is. Winston or anyone else.
    Just win games.

  53. Ndog Says:

That’s just it we will only win with an excellent QB and Winston is our best hope by far.

  54. Mike Johnson Says:

Amen Figures. A-MEN! Start winning Bucs.

  55. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Figures is so scary…. NDog is a great poster. With a handle like Figures, figure you would be a douche.

  56. Anonymous Says:

Size ain’t s#$% in today’s world dude. 6’3 247 don’t mean jack when 5’2 155 wave a 45 caliber in your face. Your size and strength then becomes null and void homes.

  57. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I challenge anyone here to provide proof that Jameis lied to his teammates. Actual proof.

On topic, too many people here give up on players too quickly. MJ Stewart was drafted for a reason. If Mike Smith was truly as bad as well all know he was, then last year should not count against Stewart. The kid was a press corner, and in OTAs last year, that was what he practiced. Then in training camp, Smith switched to zone.

People forget that Steward was impressive in OTAs last year. He was considered a rising star…because he was very good in press coverage.

It wasn’t until they made him play 10-12 yards off that things went bad for him.

As to his speed, the rookie year is slow for a lot of players. It will speed up.

I hope he makes the team, because I really hope he succeeds.

  58. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Figures, I think it was someone else that accused people of racism. I remember reading it, but I don’t think it was ndog.

I think I know who it was, but I’m not 100%, so I won’t say their name. It was a comment made by the person in the middle of an argument.

Now, as to Jameis, no one can prove he lied, because no one can prove he was guilty. Period.

  59. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Ndog, people around here either have short memories or are completely new to the team. They seem to have forgotten how hard it is to find a good QB.

Jameis is by-far the best the Bucs have ever had, even with the picks.

  60. webster Says:

Anybody that calls another man a BOY and capitalize the word BOY in their post is clearly a racist so yea figures, you are clearly a racist!!!!

  61. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Bonzai, have you completely erased the entire Uber fiasco from your memory? The lies about who was in the car? The lie about sitting in the back of the car, and not the front? Man…..wow.

  63. Buccfan37 Says:

  64. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Jameis Winston is a great QB whether the Bashers want to believe it or not…. The sad part is why so many want him to fail… go Bucs. Go Jameis!

  65. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Great QB? GREAT?? How in the heck do you measure “Greatness” ???

  66. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Morgus the Magnificent Says
“Bonzai, have you completely erased the entire Uber fiasco from your memory? The lies about who was in the car? The lie about sitting in the back of the car, and not the front?”

Again…any quotes from Jameis there? Hmmn?

Darby is the one who made public statements regarding what happened. Jameis kept his mouth shut.

You are still not providing proof.

  67. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

“A man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest…lie, lie, lie, lie lie….” Paul Simon

Proof is in the suspension (by both the NFL and Uber). And the absolute lack of denials by Winston. AND his previous, well-documented track record. Dang, if you don’t believe that, no one can help you remove your “Oh Jameis is a GREAT GUY” blinders. Oh, go winston. Rah rah.

  68. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buccaneer Bonzai

That is not true at all!!!!!!! there were stories all over the place and including jw3 response!!!!!!! Here is the link to jbf story, but it was all over major news websites and sites!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    https://www.joebucsfan.com/2017/11/another-sexual-allegation-thrown-jameis/

And that is not taking into account of stories that have been “leaked” from JW3 camp, against no less than three other people, that allegedly treated jw3 unfairly!!!!!!! You need to start to open your eyes!!!!!! The story of great leader that has been sold to the sheep are just that!!!!!!! A STORY!!!!!!!!

It is time to open your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  69. webster Says:
