Bruce Arians Says He’s “Melting”
June 13th, 2019A cynic might say head coach Bucco Bruce Arians is going soft.
He’s given up playcalling for the first time in his career and he’s got what might be the biggest coaching staff in NFL history, primarily old friends who he trusts implicitly to manage their roles.
Sure, Arians is in full fat-cat mode, coasting and waiting for his 67th birthday this fall, the cynics would say.
They would be wrong. Arians challenged himself to lose 30 pounds once he got the Bucs job, and now it appears the number is up to 45.
Speaking on ESPN in early June, Arians said inhaling seafood, extreme temperatures, and a capable staff is making his life easy and healthy.
“I finally lost 25 pounds and I’ve got 20 more to go,” Arians said. “I can’t say enough about [my] staff. I get bored sometimes. Just because I don’t have anything to do. [I’m eating a lot of fish] and melting. This 100 degrees is a little bit difference than that 100 degrees.”
As listeners to Arians on the recent Ira Kaufman Podcast heard, Arians said anyone who doubts his long-term commitment would be mistaken. Arians said the only potential way he’s done coaching after two seasons is if the Bucs win a Super Bowl.
Joe’s glad Arians seems completely committed to the Bucs and his health, which is what drove him to retire after the 2017 season.
What did Derrick Brooks think of spring practices? Lots to dive into on this edition of TAMPA TWO, presented by Caldeco Air Conditioning & Heating!! It’s another dynamic production from The Identity Tampa Bay and JoeBucsFan.com.

Inhaling seafood and a capable staff huh??? Sounds more like dude is here on a paid vacation. Hell he has coaches who’s job it is to tie his shoes. Doesn’t sound like he has to work at all. Great gig if you can land it.

Great new Joe! I hope that translates well for endurance. As for playcalling, I never liked the HC calling plays as there is too much ma to stuff going on. The test is can he dry out of it in clur h situations? will he let Byron run? No issues with a big staff…bit it is how well they work together. Still, I am going to wait and see before i get hopes up.

I hope this works. A lot of the articles about BA and his coaches aren’t exactly super inspiring. A lot of nonchalant attitudes from the top. “Primarily old friends” Hmmmmm…hope this works.
BA or bust for Jameis ” meaningless stats ” Winston

I agree totally with you Joe … Coach Arians isn’t ‘coasting’ by any means. He came in with an obviously very detailed strategy to turn this Bucs’ ‘mess’ around fairly quickly. It’s a LOT easier to do that if El Jefe surrounds himself with talented people who he can trust implicitly. And that’s exactly what BA has done. Kudos.
More to the point, can’t see for the life of me why fans care about the size of the staff. It doesn’t count against the salary Cap & it’s allowing more ‘hands-on’ teaching, which is exactly what a young team like the Bucs needs for player development. A great example within BA’s staff would be the 5 folks on the conditioning staff. If that’s what it takes to do things smart while training in the Florida heat then I’m all for it. Injuries kill us every year, and I’m really hoping BA’s conditioning staff can turn that around this year.

Saw the Bucs uniforms ranked 26 overall.
The Creamsicles were ranked #1 best overall old school uniform.
How would a trimmed down, seafood eating BA look in Florida Orange?

^^^did not do well typing on my iphone. Bottom line: All good news to hear.
Too much macro stuff going on for BA to worry about play calling. Can BA stay out of it in clutch situations?

I cant remember which one of you morons was asking about the “knuckle headed plays” by Winston and was asking for examples. Maybe NOSBOS?
go to youtube and type “Winston interceptions” and see how many were just horrible decision making. Clean pocket just stupid throws. Ignorance is bliss I guess. Oh and don’t forget the knuckleheaded fumbles as well.
so there you go.
you too NDOG. lets see you make excuses for about 90 percent of those throws.

Buc believer—
Why do you have to be such a dousche? Are you capable of getting any kind of attention other than negative? We’re you the youngest child in a Mormon household? Just absolutely starved for attention yet had no capability of garnering it…so might as well put a ring in your nose to compliment the one in your nit sack?
Yeah, that’s you.
I grow so tired of idiots like you who take an article like this and find an illogical reason to sh!t on it.
Go away, ya POS.

Good for him !…

If you can make it Playing sports in Florida heat , you can make it anywhere

Eating seafood while sitting in a golf cart and sweating his arse off is only going to get him so far. The one thing I found interesting is he never mentions exercise, but I still do not know how that translates to wins or inspires his team either. I hope his coaching is better than his weight loss plan
June 13th, 2019 at 8:06 am
Language Todd! Attacking religion is never a good look.
Figures – I have posted several times Jameis ” meaningless stats ” Winston’s you tube vid, all his interceptions so far… easily 2/3 rd were with a clean pocket and no footwork issues. Simply lousy throws or decisions.
June 13th, 2019 at 8:33 am
Todd you are SO funny!! Did you climb down from between your mommas legs to post that?
June 13th, 2019 at 8:40 am
Hopefully hes not going soft, thats not what the team needs at this point.
June 13th, 2019 at 8:51 am
lead by example….
we have an HC that has a goal and is committed to it…..players see that and are willing to run thru a brick wall….
GO BUCS!!!!!

Get help somewhere.
June 13th, 2019 at 11:12 am
Bored? How about some of that quarterback whispering in Jameis ear?
June 13th, 2019 at 11:34 am
@figures, it’s clear you’re a gaytor fan. Still mad fsu owned that clown team for 10 years? I love how Jameis lives in your head rent free. So much so you bring him up in articles that dont even pertain to him. Hes going to be here for a while after this year, get used to it. Then you can go cry yourself to sleep every night after his long contract extension. Cant wait to feel your misery.
June 13th, 2019 at 11:37 am
Here come the Jameis trolls on an article not even related to him. You guys really need to find a life, or maybe get a woman in your lives. Might help remove the proverbial stick from your asses. Heck, who knows, maybe experience some sex now and then might improve your salty dispositions in life.

BA is Speaking softly and carry a big staff.
June 13th, 2019 at 2:44 pm
Biggest coaching staff in the entire NFL. Hope this translates into lotsa
victories for Arians sake and ours.
June 13th, 2019 at 3:10 pm
Fig
First of all, that vid goes back to his rookie season I was talking about last year but nevertheless
Second, you can’t even see the pocket, ball is in the air on most those clips.
Third, I’m not sure you know what you’re looking at bc on like the first ten 3-4 bounce off receiver hands and in others WRs run the wrong route or aren’t even looking for the ball.
But good try dude, helps me understand who I’m talking to, thanks.
June 13th, 2019 at 5:04 pm
Guess who the QB is going to be? Jamies Winston. Sorry about your luck Pete but it dosent look like your posts are going to change that.
June 13th, 2019 at 6:13 pm
Who had the brilliant idea to practice at 4 everyday during camp???
June 13th, 2019 at 8:07 pm
It won’t be my bad luck but it might be the Bucs bad luck though.
