Ndamukong Suh Speaks

June 1st, 2019

The newest Buccaneers manbeast has a reputation for not being a big fan of football media, meaning he’s not big on chatting. So there’s a great chance yesterday’s introductory news conference is the most we’ll hear from Suh in one shot all year.

With that in mind, Joe’s posting the entire session below.

I admit to pidgeon-holing Suh as a dirty thug.

I am overjoyed how wrong that opinion was.

He is an impressive man, and I am more than happy he will wear Pewter and Red this season.

And I am liking what I am hearing about Bowles “attacking” defense. As a Buc fan, I don’t know what that is for the last 15+ seasons.

  2. Capt Kidd Says:

I think the #1 thing that led to his dirty reputation was the time he stomped on Evans-Smith. Just this week I read a different spin on that. One of the other Packer players said Smith was instructed to keep untying Suh’s shoelaces to slow him down and he had already done it 3 times during that game. So when he tried the 4th Suh responded by stomping on him as he got up from the pile. So it sounds to me like Smith was actually being the dirty player and Suh was responding. It’s funny how we can judge off of media spin.

Impressive interview, welcome to the Bucs Ndamukong!

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This guy plays like Tarzan but talks like Jane……handles the media very well….and I actually think he likes the idea of being a Buc. Happy that he is getting married….but doesn’t seem like he has had any off-field problems.
This was a good pick-up…..more to come.

  5. Williams Says:

Am I the only one that was getting irritated by the questions the media was asking him about being a dirty player and penalties? And they seem to ask the same question several times just wording it differently. I’ve also noticed that with the HC press conferences. Only Joe & Ira have been on point. The chick is ok but sometimes her questions make me say WTF?! #cringefest2019

Suh is a very intelligent man. He is a graduate of Nebraska’s School of Engineering with a degree in construction management. He aspires to be a building contractor when he is done with football. His father is a college educated engineer with his own heating and air conditioning business. His sister Ngum Suh is in sports management. After having started with Jay Z at Roc Nation, She now owns her own business and is Suh’s agent. His mother is an elementary school teacher. His great grandfather stood 7-3 and was also named Ndamukong which in Cameroon means “House of Spears”. – courtesy Wiki.

@TBBF: that is hilarious! Talk like Jane, play like Tarzan! LOL!

  8. Jfat Says:

Sounds like a leader to me.

  9. TexBuc Says:

A DT that relies on size and strength versus speed to shoot the gap is less affected by age.

I cannot wait for the QB’s of the NFC South to meet the boy named Suh.

  10. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

TRENCHWARFARE at it’s finest with Suh and Vea. I’m hoping the rookie Buckner can man the NT. Damn I’m excited to see a different mindset on the field
    Go BUCS

  11. Bucamania Says:

That’s a serious man right there. Lucky to get Suh. Can’t wait to see what he and Vea can do in the middle of that DL. Not going to be the usual cakewalk for NFC South QBs anymore.

  12. SenileSenior Says:

I like the image of Suh, Vea and Gholston forming the SPEAR point for our attacking defense.

    _________
    Go Bucs!!!

  13. Eric Says:

once a narrative like “dirty player” gets in the media it never goes away.

and the initial narratives are best on less and less substance to begin with.

Sad state of affairs, but Suh isn’t exactly destitute over it. Go Bucs.

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

Like it or not, The league and the public..with maybe the exception of a few Bucs fans..have accurately labeled Suh as the leagues most dirtiest player. That will never go away. Now, lets just hope his dirtiness translate into great play for us. because a saint..he ain’t.
