Anyone want Notre Dame’s leading tackler on the Buccaneers’ roster?
Joe knows a guy who does, and he’s got all kinds of ties at One Buc Palace.
The tackler/linebacker is Te’von Coney and the guy barking for Coney is former Bucs tight end Anthony Becht, who spent many years on the Buccaneers Radio Network and doing analyst work for the team website.
Today on Twitter, Becht posted his Bucs-specific mock draft. Becht didn’t say if he thinks this is what the Bucs will do — or what he wants them to do. Highly likely, it’s combination of both.

Joe is intrigued by the potential Coney pick. He reminds Joe a bit of Mason Foster, the Bucs’ third-round pick in 2011. Foster is still racking up tackles in a big way; last season his most productive in that department.
Coney had 123 tackles last year, 9 1/2 for loss, four sacks, one interception, and four pass breakups, per NFL.com.
Joe asked Becht to explain the Coney call, mostly because a lot of projections push him into Round 4.
Becht said Coney is “the best available w/ that pick…..huge production….natural instincts…. we need “sure tacklers”…..he’s one of them.”
Yeah, Becht has DE Josh Allen going to the Bucs, but remember that Becht is very high on DT beast Ed Oliver.

CAJUSTE sucks… minimal effort too often.. would be another Benenoch. Becht is WVU alumni so i see the bias but nahhhhhh PASS!!

Ok so we got edge rush help is becht saying no d line help is needed and he’s content allowing teams to do what Baltimore ravens did to us? And drafting two linebackers hmmm that’s actually just like one of licht bad drafts

No DL or CB. Sounds like a Licht draft. Cajuste at 2 rediculous. Risner at 2 makes more sense. Would take Oliver before Allen or White for that matters. Do like Zach Allen a lot.

Good lord. No idea who in the radio industry thinks it’s a wise decision to give these Becht and Beckles people on-air jobs…when there are valid alternatives.
Looking at Becht’s “analysis” (lol!) above in his tweeted pic, NO WAY in hell does Deionte Thompson last till the 4th round!?! Try late 2nd round max. Ohh…and Hunter Renfrow ?!?! lasting till the 6th freaking round?!? Lol. Damn. Try Renfrow is gone by the end of…Round THREE.

Elijah Holyfield in the 7th would be a steal. Agree with Jackwagon that a couple of picks shown will be gone prior to where he has them going.

I’m not familiar with Cajuste but, what’s wrong with Becht’s mock? Allen in a 3/4 defense would be a monster. The rest would be later round gems IMO, which it’s all opinion anyways!
For those that think they can do better, I could sure use some lotto numbers this week. My Crown Royal fund is running low!
Renfrow would be a Hump-like cheaper replacement. Holyfield in the 7th?! Yes, please. Man, can’t nobody say that if we landed a haul like that, they wouldn’t be jumping for joy!

I’ve seen him mocked to us on walterfootball, don’t know too much about him, but we should be able to find an adequate MLB in rounds 3/4

Personally I’d prefer to address the trenches the first 3 rounds however, it will ultimately depend upon who’s on the board.

Are you insane? Renfrow is Hump 2.0 but probably better. And Holifield in the 7th???? He won’t last that long, but that would be an amazing steal.

I’m ok with Holyfield in the 7th, but no earlier. Kid is slow as molasses. Renfrow would be a great pickup, agree he’s probably overall better than Hump, hands-wise. Hump is probably faster.

Holyfield WILL be available in the 7th!! But not what we need!! We need a back that has speed w GREAT hands out of the backfield!! Holyfield is not “the Real Deal” when it comes to what we need in a Running Back! He will be a 3rd stringer on an average to below average team!!

Becht is such an idiot. Deionte Thompson in the 4th round??? I don’t know what he showed at the combine and his pro day but a ton of mocks before then had him going mid first as one of the top safeties.
Someone please correct me if his stock has plummeted all the way to the fourth.

If we pick josh Allen over Ed Oliver ima be sad – and then support the shhh out of him because GO BUCS. But I’d rather have Oliver all day.
