Night Practices Coming To One Buc

Adjusts practice times.
This might be a cool thing for Bucs fans.
For years while training in Tampa, the Bucs always seemed to have a night practice. Part of it was to give the players a break from the brutal Florida summer heat. Another reason was to allow fans to come to practice. Call it an outreach program.
Later, the Bucs held an open practice at the Den of Depression. Like fanfest, the Bucs eventually did away with that too, even though it was very popular and the players seemed to like it as well.
Yesterday, Bucco Bruce Arians said he already has the training camp practice dates set. And those schedules include an unknown number of night practices at the beautiful Glazer Shed.
Arians said he has four different schedules for practices to give him options and wiggle room in case of inclement weather and to not stress players’ bodies. He wants to have as many practices as he can outside but knows well about the Florida rainy season.
Those practices include nighttime events.
“There are days where we will have night [practice] inside, have the morning off and come back in the afternoon so there is always a good rest period in-between,” Arians said.
Joe wonders if the Bucs will take advantage of the night practices and make them open to the public? That would be a nice touch.
After all, the Bucs need as much positive outreach to the community as they can get after back-to-back, 11-loss seasons.
Bucs passion will flow with fans from many states, a few countries, and loads of local hardcore fans enjoying the draft until it ends. On Thursday, music starts outdoors in the 5 o’clock hour and runs until just before 8 p.m when the draft kicks off. The regular menu is available, in addition to a $25 buffet all night long. Sage Ira Kaufman will be in the house. Joe’s been a part of hosting draft parties for years. They’re a load of fun. Thanks to Bud Light and Buffalo Wild Wings for their desire to serve the fans.

dont care about attending practice until we start winning some games…..BA should have no music and no fans at practice until they improve the product on the field….

I have never understood the logic in getting rid of the fan fest. I mean, did someone in One Buc actually believe that was good for the organization?

Dont they have an indoor facility now? Kind of no need for night practices aside from prepping for the TNF and MNF games

Wonder why we did we get rid of practicing at Ray Jay? The grass is clearly different at Ray Jay than it is at One Buc Place. Difference is the grass at OBP is much thinner and more secure.
Bruce should hold practices at Ray Jay since the Bucs seem to have no home field advantage. Aaron Rodgers hated our grass and he beat us with ease on a bad knee.

We get some good news, and your first instinct is to complain. That’s hating, dude. Night practices are a good thing, winning or losing. But that clearly was lost on you.

I don’t recall any being held at Ray Jay. I remember One Buc, Tampa University, Orlando…and the Rays stadium.

when was the last time fans attending “night practice” helped win a game?…..
i could care less about night practices if we continue to go 5-11…..but clearly you’ll take 5-11 as long as it comes with a night practice during TC….

This is good planning I think. Very different way of doing it for the Bucs. It has always been about heat and thunderstorms, and the indoor facility took much of that away. I may have missed it, but this is the first time I’ve seen recovery time considerations worked in. Great info Joe.
I’ll add> I like this idea because of less physical stress on our new HC. He doesn’t need to be out screaming and yelling in 95 degrees and 85% humidity for 90 minutes straight.

The o-zone is depleting. UV rays are very strong these days. Night practices will lead to player preservation.
