“We’ll Have To Wait And See”

April 24th, 2019

You know something is brewing when the NFL Network is prowling around One Buc Palace.

And so it was yesterday when Tom Pelissero was at One Buc Palace and got a standup with Bucco Bruce Arians after practice.

When asked what the Bucs plan to do at No. 5, Arians chuckled and said until the Bucs are on the clock, there is no predicting.

You can see the NFL Network video below.

just improve the damn defense and develop a run game!!!!!!!!

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  2. Larry Says:

Really positive in shorts. Lets see what happens in September, when the bullets start to fly.

  3. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Recognize and read the defense before it happens…that is what the great QB’s do…chalk talk read and regurgitate is meaningless especially in Fruit of the Loom football

  4. Eric Says:

I don’t think Zona is going to draft a QB.

So if Murray is still there at five someone might trade up to get him.

Good report on Jameis. Nice to have a coach that doesn’t throw him under the bus.

Now if only our alleged “fan base” would get behind the team and the QB.

  5. miken Says:

Best thing to happen to JW is BA. Best thing to happen to the Bucs in a looooong time is BA.

  6. Pistol Pete Says:

Dude is a breath of fresh air. I agree, need a solid run game….We finally have a legit Defensive Coordinator for the first time in YEARS.
Let’s see what he can do with the talent we have.

    “Year 3 stuff”

Jameis is going into his 5th year. Jeez the standards are low here

  8. Defense Rules Says:

Got tickled by BA saying that he “sat in the golf cart for awhile but then couldn’t take it and had to get out coaching & teaching”. He is who he is … no question that he REALLY enjoys teaching (even if it occasionally means ‘tough love’). BA seems to be genuinely impressed with Jameis & that’s a big positive. Singling out Perriman was also a positive IMO; we NEED that speed-burner WR to stretch the field & keep opposing defenses honest.

    (((((((((((

He meant it was like someone in year 3 of Arians’ system, genius.

  10. Billyjs3 Says:

Loyal hes talking year 3 of this offense not year 3 overall

  11. Anonymous Says:

This is the first draft in a longtime where I do t even care Joe and still can’t believe Licht is managing ? Yes I would run to the podium if Q Williams was still on the board, but this team hasn’t gotten better. They still have so many glaring needs it’s borderline scary !! Yes it’s nice to have a coach that cares, but I don’t think BA can turn this organization around as long as Licht, JW3, and the Glazers are are leading? . He will probably jump ship after 3 seasons if that, but thankful I have low expectations and maybe 4-5 wins ? Oh and still can’t believe this organization goes into the season with the worst uniforms ever !!! 😳 disappointed Bucs fan

  12. OneBuc55 Says:

    @Loyal

Many posters on this hate this kid so much it’s unreal…You guys totally ignore any positives and iterally put a negative spin on everything…BA was a God send for this franchise and most of all Winston.. can’t wait for Jamie’s shut all of you up…

  13. Jordan L Says:

Loyal……c’mon man. You can’t be that dumb.

  14. Destinjohnny Says:

Let’s see I be can win with one of the worst gms in the league

  15. Darin Says:

    813. No just win. I dont care if the defense or running game improves of they win em all. Cant see a way the defense doesnt improve tho. The d coordinator was a checked-out out-dated mess.

  16. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

    @one Buc 55

I don’t hate the kid. I praise him when he plays like a #1 overall pick and I criticize when he deserves it. I’m no FSU Gator or other college fan so I have no bias. I went to Georgetown and we don’t have a football team so I’m not one of these loser FSU fans who make excuses for the kid since he made the school relevant again.

Jameis has a lot of positives, but just as many negatives since being the QB here. I’d love to be wrong about him but after 50 plus starts he’s gotta probe it to the fans.

  17. Jackwagon Says:

Maybe…just maybe, now that Dan Snyder is involved directly in WAS on Haskins at QB for them (son attended college with Dwayne, etc.), he may just tell Bruce Allen to move from #15 to #5 to get in front of the Giants at #6.

So IF NO Quinnen at #5, then WAS likely would send us:

    #15 overall 2019
    #46 2nd round 2019
    #96 3rd round compensatory 2019
    2020 2nd round pick

That would likely get it done.

Probably have to start with Devin Bush at #15 based on value and need, target best OG available (Risner) and best DE available 2nd round (Zach Allen), then RB Montgomery and CB round 3 (Jamel Dean) ,Safety round 4 best available most gone…

  18. Eric Says:

I wouldn’t touch that trade Jackwagon.

  19. Tom S. Says:

Jameis is a solid QB on an awful garbage team constructed by an awful garbage GM.

Even Tom Brady isn’t going to win many games with a Swiss cheese offensive line, undrafted free agent RB and a defense that can’t cover anyone. People expect Jameis to be football Jesus and single handedly beat other teams by himself. Imagine how bad Brad Johnson, Jeff Garcia or worse Trent Dilfer would’ve been if they were relied on to win every game by themselves. That’s a recipe for failure.

  20. Rod Munch Says:

Oh man, I thought he was going to give us his top 5 list and say we’re going to draft one of these 5 guys at #5, and here’s our preference in order. Sad that he said so little when I was expecting so much.

  21. 813bucboi Says:

    jackwagon

he would have to move up 10 spots….

rams got 3 1st rounds and a 2nd round the last time redskins traded up…..

the deal you constructed looks like a DOM trade lol (no disrespect)

i’d only make that trade for another 3 1st round picks in addition to their 2nd and 3rd this year….

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  22. Jackwagon Says:

    @813bucb!tch…

First of all…that RGIII trade in 2012 was regarded as a heist, not a Ricky Williams heist, but a heist nonetheless. THAT won’t happen..again.

To clarify ur sloppy mistakes in your retort…

The Rams were at #2 at the time, we are at #5…drastically different on the chart.

Second, the Rams didn’t get 3 first round picks, they received TWO FUTURE first round picks (2013 and 2014), swapping #6 and #2 in 2012 draft.

The compensation for EVERYONE this year has all been ratcheted diwn by all pundits based on lack of dominant top of draft, as fact. What I constructed, sure could be a first in 2020 perhaps, versus a 2nd…but this year WAS isn’t going to throw in their whole draft rounds 1-4 to go from #15 to #5.

And…it’s NOT how many spots, it’s WHICH spots, and yes, for what position to acquire.

    Get ur facts straight…

  23. BucEmUp Says:

Jameis’s legs look a lot smoother in the drill than in his first few years. He always seemed ro have an awkward leg movement when doing drills or motions like that. Hes obviousky been working more on his pocket mobility and staying balanced and moving quicker off his toes

  24. Pittsshore Says:

Will Grier is coming to Tampa.

  25. BucsFIRE Says:

^ Good for him, Pittsshore. A lot of people do. Tampa is a great vacation spot.

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

Improve the Defense by at least 50% and the Bucs will win a lot of games.
Everybody looks good in shorts and tees. Always do.

  27. Kord Says:

If we happen to trade down, hope we don’t, Wilkins would be another best to get that might be there if we were to trade down

  28. Josh Says:

    Jackwagon is a major jackwagon.

  29. lurker Says:

    this is from rotoworld:

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the Redskins have “explored” trading into the top five.

The Jets, Raiders, and Bucs hold the Nos. 3-5 picks behind the Cardinals and 49ers. The Jets have made it known they’re open to moving back, and the Bucs have also expressed a willingness to do the same at the right price. Washington holds the No. 15 pick currently, and coming up this far would certainly involved next year’s first-rounder. The Redskins are reportedly enamored with Dwayne Haskins.

  32. Sweet Lou Says:

Best player available every round, screw need. Other than Evans, all could be replaced.

  33. RODNEY ALLEN Says:

I like winston but not blindly I’ve defended him but this has to be the year or bye with that said Bruce said that’s year 3 on fifth option but isnt he on year 5 so that shouldnt be a surprise 🤷‍♂️

  34. Buc1987 Says:

    Dumbest fans in the NFL.

  35. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

^ I doubt there are any of us, Rodney, who follow him “blindly”.

I am as big a JW fan as there is.
However, if he does not live up to my expectations of him truly developing into the franchise QB that I believe he is…….. I want him gone.
    That simple.
