comparing Dominick the failure and licht the failure is simply like comparing Bucs and Browns the two most embarrassing sports franchises on earth. however the bucs do own the worst winning percentage in sports therefore the browns might as well be the 20’s yankees compared to minor league bucs.
2 marquee players produced in 5 years of drafting in Gerald McCoy + Lavonte David – and those 2 players have been associated with being the faces of the worst defense in the league. Not going to give him props for picking a RB in round 1 that had drug problems, was overrated, and had 2 decent seasons total out of 5 and f*cked the team on his contract. Or taking Mark Barron at 7 because he succeeded with the Rams. Sorry dips1ht you didn’t draft him for the Rams.
Licht’s been pretty sh1tty but he at worst produced offensive franchise records with an offensive nucleus built from the draft which is more of a GM accomplishment than anything Dom did.
However if Winston/Arians fail then none of it matters and Licht/Dom will both be in the history books as sh1t GMs from a sh1t organization
DOM was the GM during the regimes of some unfortunate coaches. Both Raheem and Schiano lost their respective locker rooms and if you look at the last season of Chucky, he even lost the locker room when Kiffin announced he was leaving.
Not even a close call. Dom was famous for running off good players i.e. Michael Bennet, D Penn , M. Foster and Talib to name a few. Couldn’t draft to save his life. People think Licht can hit on a 2nd rounder? take a look at Doms track record) And not to mention the BS he pulled within 3 months of being on the job by cutting fan favorites D. Brooks and W. Dunn (even though we were 50 mil + under the cap that year). Dom had a big hand in setting this franchise back to the basement dwellers we are today.
Wow Joe TOUGH TOUGH question!! That is like asking would you rather have dinner with your nosy mother in law or your bitch ex wife who took you for a bunch of money! Or worse would you rather be drowned or hanged! Either scenario sucks really bad!!
You bet your pewter colored pajamas that, talk show dominik was worse!!!!!!!!! But you are comparing licht to ” The worst GM in Buc History”!!!!!!!!!!!! Licht is just bad enough to have coaches have no chance for success!!!!!!!!!!!!
This would be the same as saying that Rah is better than loser lovie!!!!!!!! Both are incompetent losers!!!!!!!! But incompetent loser lovie is a Classless Buffoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Horrible marks on buc history!!!!!!! And talk show dominik and licht weight are the biggest reason of the decade of futility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the ” real ” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Buccaneers truly do have the most ignorant “fan” base in the NFL…..
Dom Drafted exactly TWO good players in FIVE years people. He decimated our trenches – never drafting OLine in 5 years and blowing premium picks on Clayborn and Bowers
Licht’s record is far from spotless – but he did draft Evans, Winston, Smith, Marpet, Kwon, Howard, Godwin, Beckwith, Vea, Davis…. also UDFAs Brate, Humphries, Barber….
All good players. More good draftees will emerge under better coaching this year as well.
Licht has already gotten more players big 2nd year deals both here and elsewhere and signed more successful undrafted FAs from his first 2 drafts (2014-2015) alone than Dom did in 5 years of drafts.
That’s all you should need to know about how bad Dom was in the draft. He was also terrible in FA like Licht is.
Any players that are successful from 2016-2018 drafts = further separation between Licht/Dom.
But like Realist said – Dom = worst ever. It’s a horrible low bar of expectations to even compare against
Measuring a GM by the amount of second contracts awarded to players and not “W-L” is silly.
You make a point, but can you please explain to me how Licht has won less than Dom, when Licht has had more resources- including the #1 overall pick at QB.
Measuring a GM by W:L and ignoring the coaches the GM had is silly. Especially when the GM is not picking the coaches.
Per your own rules Les Snead was somehow a terrible GM under Jeff Fischer and an awesome GM under Sean McVay… it’s just a silly way of thinking IMO.
The Rams – like the Bucs – had talent that Jeff Fischer sh1t the bed with consistently. Jeff Fischer had most of the same pieces that McVay did (including the QB) when one won 4 games and the other 11 or whatever it was
I seem to remember a team put together by Mark Dominick winning 10 games….. I also seem to remember that the team was never under a bad cap situation under Mark Dominick.
I voted yes but it pisses me off that he didn’t trade GMC and DJax last year when he could have gotten something decent in return.
Yeah, he’s missed on most FAs and the Aguayo thing was way too big of a reach, but I feel overall that he has stocked this team with talent and the coaching is to blame for most of the futility.
He needs to hit on at least 4 picks this year to get his average back up and make this team badass on defense again.
Hard to choose when both are/were below average. It’s like asking whether or not you want your head cut off with a sword or an axe? Both choices are terrible. (*_*)

coaches screwed licht over with the lack of development…..DOM was just flat out horrible…..
#REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!!

Not sure anyone could be worse than Dom.

Everyone is a better GM than Dominik period.

Wait. scratch that Foster was cut in 2015, but the point still stands. Dom was a garbage GM
April 16th, 2019 at 11:49 am
Yes, but not by much.
Both are different levels of awful
April 16th, 2019 at 11:56 am

I think people are forgetting how atrocious Licht is at signing free agents.
April 16th, 2019 at 12:14 pm
I voted that Licht was better. I already changed my mind. The team isn’t any better than Doms reign but Dom didn’t obliterate the salary cap.
April 16th, 2019 at 12:24 pm
Wow – almost half of respondents didn’t say yes?

How is this even a legit question????

Why not a spot for they both suck

“Lol
How about comparing Gump to Chris Ballard or John Dorsey?
We could have had these 2 guys 2 years ago to lead this franchise
We are not going nowhere but south with Jason Gump
BA is not the answer
We need a new GM and a TOTAL TEARDOWN
Draftspicks and unload huge contracts
Kobe stated this 4 years ago”
Kobe Faker
April 16th, 2019 at 2:30 pm
Apples and oranges fellas. Rotten apples and oranges!! Go BUCS!!
April 16th, 2019 at 2:44 pm
Dominik>Licht and it’s not close.
Dom had no salary cap to spend, a mental FreeWee, and the task of taking over after Chucky and Bruce Allen screwed us over.
Licht has been able to spend freely and poorly. He has also had higher draft picks than Dom- because he wins less often.
Licht wins less with more and that’s a travesty.

in short version, MD made some terrible decisions im sure hed acknowledge but his IQ is a thousand times higher than Low-IQ Licht
April 16th, 2019 at 3:44 pm
Of course he is better than Dominick. I’ll go you better. He is better than Rich McKay and every other GM we’ve ever had too.
April 16th, 2019 at 3:47 pm
If you measure the short term and long term successes and failures of each Bucs GM, Jason Licht has topped them all with successes.
People can state opinions if they like. I prefer facts. And if you take the time, he;s the best.
April 16th, 2019 at 4:42 pm
I seem to remember a team put together by Mark Dominick winning 10 games….. I also seem to remember that the team was never under a bad cap situation under Mark Dominick.
Then there’s the five year record comparison…

Oh please. Dominik should be in the hall of fame for worst GM of all time.
April 16th, 2019 at 9:09 pm
I don’t know. Would you rather have your fingers smashed with a hammer or baseball bat?
How about neither. Both options totally suck.
April 16th, 2019 at 9:42 pm
Lord corn,
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your perspective.
I’m just befuddled at how Licht has won less than Dominik?
I need to see Licht not screw up his second round pick.
April 16th, 2019 at 10:05 pm
They both suck out loud, end of story
April 16th, 2019 at 10:16 pm
it Is hard because both were bad for their own reasons. Results in the wins-loss column give Dom the slight edge.
April 16th, 2019 at 11:46 pm
Equal failure at this point…..
Okay keeping score? Licht 52-48 over Dom.
Both still suck though….
Unblock 87!
