“Retooling Their Brains”
April 3rd, 2019The Bucs’ kicking game for the better part of the last decade has been a freaking nightmare. Take away a few good years by Connor Barth, and the Bucs’ kicking situation has been a total trainwreck.
Joe is convinced that 25 years from now, former Bucs coach Dirk Koetter will be sitting on the back porch of his expansive country summer home in southwestern Idaho overlooking rolling hills shooting at blackbirds as he calls out the names of Bucs kickers — too many to count who have come and gone the past three years.
At the coaches breakfast at the NFL owners meetings last week, Bucco Bruce Arians was asked about adding another kicker into the mix for competition. Arians didn’t seem overly concerned with how the kicking situation will play out, saying a quality kicker is always on the street looking for work.
“I think we are OK with where we are at,” Arians said. “I want to see this Danish guy [Phillip Andersen]. If I don’t like what we see, that’s one position that they are out there.”
Arians seemed to hint that kickers are headcases; things in between their ears cause more problems than their legs.
“It’s just retooling their brains,” Arians said. “The ones I have had, talent was never the issue. It was never talent.”
The way Arians sounded, in addition to hiring a kicking coach, he should have hired a shrink as well. Keep in mind ex-Buc kicker Chandler Catanzaro tortured Arians on the Cardinals roster in 2017, before he was dumped after that season.
Joe is sure Bucs fans have recommendations for a psychiatrist. Kickers have driven Bucs fans mental of late, if they haven’t become full-blown alcoholics yet.

First step in retooling brains is to get cancer93 out of the locker room

And didn’t Aieeguano go to a sport psychologist or something before he went full headcase?

The therapy didn’t take! Count me as “a full-blown alcoholic”! And it’s not just because of our kicking situation either!

kickers are not immune to cancer93 thus making my initial statement not only relevant but priority.
