Bucs Hire Two More Coaches

Joe can already hear the cynics and the heartless haters salivating at the thought of a woman barking orders at Gerald McCoy on the practice field.
Today the Bucs hired two new assistant coaches, Maral Javadifar, an assistant strength and conditioning coach, and Lori Locust, assistant defensive line coach.
According to the Bucs, Tampa Bay is the first club in NFL history with two female coaches on staff.
Arians told 910 AM in Phoenix that Javadifar is very versatile in her ability, making it seem that she’s not your typical trainer at the gym. A New York City native, Javadifar played basketball for Pace University. She holds Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Pace and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Medical College, per the Bucs.
Locust coached in the AAF and was a Ravens coaching intern, and she played in semi-pro women’s football leagues.
“I have known Lori going back to my days at Temple University and I’ve seen firsthand just how knowledgeable and passionate she is about this game,” Arias said via a news release.
Joe thinks this is very cool, assuming these women coach a lot better than Dirk Koetter’s defensive coaches.

love women in the workplace. especially strippers that leave the church for the pole. maybe it takes another women to get the best out cancer93 or maybe they can help with his constant crying in public and whining. I look for them to set the example for the softest player in nfl history. welcome aboard ladies… they tried every man available and they have failed to get results from her so why not bring in a well qualified lady.

Personally I think women can make better motivators. Players don’t tend to bow up against their criticism like they would do against a male coach. And then there is the natural behavior to show no weakness to a female. I think that is inherently born into us. Especially athletes.

Women have been in the military for decades, dummy. Has the navy or army proved something in the past 20 years, for example, it’s some wet-noodle outfit?
The Russians and Israelis also have had women in the military for decades. Think the Israeli army is something to be toyed with? How about the Russians? Those women did a number on Hitler, didn’t they? Don’t be stupid Archie Bunker.
Now if you want to argue how good of a coach can a woman be a coach if she never played, that’s fair.

I’ve seen some pretty tough women…but somehow, I never imagined one coaching defensive line, which is probably the group with the most testosterone.
If she does a good job, she might become the first female head coach eventually.

Can you imagine the outrage if a player gets in a woman coaches face like they do sometimes with male coaches? That would be a career killer…but would the punishment be just?
The man in me wants to leap to defend the honor of a woman…but if she wants to do a job traditionally done by men, she’s going to have to handle it like a man.

Two things:
This is huge. Arians backed up his word…probably the first time I’ve seen him do something I respect. I read up on Lori Locust. She is actually very qualified and even played women’s semi-pro football.
Secondly, props to Joe.
He could have given the title “Bucs hire two women coaches”, but he didn’t. They hired two coaches who happen to be women.

I know you won’t post this because you are a coward, but women should not be in the military. Just because the Russians, who almost lost their country to the Germans in WWII, had a grand total of 3 percent of women in the military- LOL-(mostly nurses and medics,) does not mean that women should be in the military. Israel is under constant missile fire and threats of annihilation, so everyone has to contribute to their safety. The United States is not under constant assault like the Russians in World War II or Israel pretty much every minute of its existence. Women should NOT be on the battlefield unless they are absolutely needed. Just like how we should not have a draft, unless absolutely needed. The reality is that men and women are different physically and psychologically.
Joe, if you are so tolerant, and i am such a dummy, explain why you are okay with women and men participating in the military with the incredibly high sexual assault rates ? Would you send your daughter in the military? 32 % of women who have served in our military have reported sexual assault. If you really wanted to protect women, you would not let them in the military.
The reason you are such a joke is because you become a homer for whoever is at the helm, until the wheels are about to fall off. You were in love with Lovie and Koetter. You still can’t get over the fact that, No, Jameis is not ‘America’s QB.’ In fact, speaking of sexual assault, haha, well, i rest my case.

Looking at her resume, what is the process for applying for these positions? Is there a job req that comes out from OneBuc Place? Her resume isn’t bad, but curious as to why. She did play 4 years of Semi-Pro football though.

SMH The comments by some people on here are appalling. Do not lump in ALL women by some outdated stereotype that they are not qualified to manage men, lead them or even coach them. The same argument was made 20-30 years ago about black quarterbacks and head coaches. Society changes and evolves with time. You can either adapt or get steamrolled. Either way your opinions and complaints are not going to change things so you are just arguing/trolling for the sake of arguing.
Also, If you want to compare the NFL to the military that is fine, but there are several highly qualified women who have served bravely, honorably and outperformed their male counterparts in all branches. Women can be heroes and roll models too.

How do the players feel about this? I bet one would be hard-pressed to find a football player anywhere that would be excited about having a female coach, whether she was credentialed or not.

We already have a problem with the NFL becoming watered-down. The inclusion of women will not help, in that regard. I am all for progress, just not at the expense of prudence. These jobs are UNIQUELY masculine by nature and can only exist by being so, not unlike war itself.
Conversely, these ladies will become at-risk by more than just the most predatory. The higher number of interactions will yield a higher number of incidents, not unlike the Catholic Church or our current gun problem in the U.S…more guns means more shootings.

Thinking outside the box. I like it. Both of these coaches that were hired have WAY more perseverance than I do. Their resume’s are solid. More solid than let say, Lovie Smith’s kid who nobody complained about UNTIL we found out he stunk. The players won’t care as long as these coaches can do their jobs and improve their play. The jobs they were hired for, they have experience and training for, what’s the big deal? Chucky’s kid is the strength and conditioning coach for the Redskins and while he was a weightlifter, I doubt he has a BA in Molecular friggin’ Biology or a Doctorate in physical conditioning. I’ve been watching NFL football since I was a kid, so like 50 years and I love football! Love it! I could talk football all day, every day. That said, like every other poster on these boards, I’m just a fan. I haven’t had an internship with the Ravens, worked PROFESSIONALLY at any level of football, or busted my butt to get a Doctorate in my chosen field. They are more qualified then me, every poster on this board, and as we’ve gotten a first hand look over the last 15+ years, likely better than some the chuckleheads we’ve had coaching previously.

She has played football for 4 years and has coached at all levels (minus NFL). Why are some of you so naive to believe that the players in the NFL will give her so much grief, when she didn’t have any problems at every other level? Are the players in the NFL just all predators?

Ultimately, this league is about wins and losses. If this team wins, you’ll hear a lot about how “innovative” Arians has been with the staff and how big of a factor these two new coaches have been in producing the wins. If this team loses, you won’t hear a word other than Arians failed. It’s narratives people.
Frankly, the whole building has a stench of losing. There is no coach who is going to change that, man or woman. This entire roster needs to be turned over, and most of the people sitting in offices need to go too. Culture is like cancer unfortunately, and sometimes the good has to be cut out with the bad.

Locker rooms are hot and naked and showering here. I she gonna be in the men’s shower and locker room communicating with these guys? Guy with a towel on bumps into her and it will turn out to a sexuel harrasment case in a hot minute. A lot of these powerful, raging men would not like to take orders from a woman.
I’ve seen enough NFL players beat up women off field to know it’s a bad idea have them in the locker room. Very stupid.
