Two Ex-Bucs Get New Deals
March 14th, 2019Bucs 2014 fifth-round pick Kevin Pamphile opened a lot of eyes in Tennessee last season when he played very well filling in at left tackle.
He also put in a start at right tackle before an injury stole his season. Still, the Titans saw enough to re-sign 28-year-old Pamphile in a hurry to a one-year deal.
Good for Pamphile, who is a quality man.
Another quality ex-Bucs is 2011 fourth-round pick Luke Stocker. Believe it or not, Stocker caught two touchdown passes for the Titans last season and continued his blocking-icon ways. That was good enough to re-unite him with Dirk Koetter in Atlanta. The Falcons dropped a two-year deal on him.
Koetter has said multiple times that Stocker is the kind of guy who would be a good coach one day. Ironically, Stocker has said accused-serial-rapist Kellen Winslow was a great grooming Bucs influence on him, teaching him NFL work ethic and more back in 2011.

“Accused serial rapist Kellen Winslow” Ironic
March 14th, 2019 at 1:27 pm
Way to say a few things and then leave the serial rapist comment as a parting thought.
Low Class
March 14th, 2019 at 1:36 pm
@Mike for real man smh
March 14th, 2019 at 1:44 pm
He is an alleged serial rapist and got sent back to the pen for touching an elderly gal last week, so at the least he is a weird POS. Pamphile still hanging in there may go to show that Warhop is absolute garbage as an OL coach?
March 14th, 2019 at 1:47 pm
LT??? But he was a LG……..oh wait, did our HC have somebody playing out of position? This was a theme with Dirk so I’ll guess yes.
Wait, holy f**!!! We better bring this Benechot guy back into camp to see if he was playing out of position. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. In fact I am rooting hard for Benechot.
March 14th, 2019 at 1:50 pm
I basically ingore it when unnessasary trash is written.,,….But I’d like to that the commenters for restating the rape quotes and bringing into the discussion
March 14th, 2019 at 1:52 pm
Wasau you said something on the “Beau Allen” thread about being in the minority about liking what management has done so far and I’m in agreement. Feel free to continue to have your own mind set and opinion. If these clowns round here can’t see the vision that’s their problem. Our biggest free agent signing of the off season was Bruce Arians, the players that follow are just pieces to complete the puzzle. Finally we’ll get a chance to see what these boys can be with professional coaching.
March 14th, 2019 at 1:53 pm
You may want to add the “Jr.” next to kellen Winslow.
Fun fact: I once saw a Bucs fan wearing a Kellen Winslow Bucs jersey except he put tape over the “Win”.
March 14th, 2019 at 1:57 pm
And you arse wipe swinging from the browns scrotum all of a sudden should just go be browns fans. But good luck wit that, that situation has imploding with a rookie HC written all over it. Just one football, and waaayy too much ego all of sudden crowding that locker room. They’ll face the pats and still get they’re @$$’s handed to them.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:01 pm
Oh and Joe then fold over on the Bucs app claim we reaching out to Eric Berry. Safety. Kinda co-inside with my philosophy about defense being built from the back forward now in this pass happy era of football.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:09 pm
Defense built from the back forward was Mark Domaniks idea too. How’d that work out?
March 14th, 2019 at 2:09 pm
Jamaal just let them be. If you know football like I know football you can see that these fans are jealous of the Browns.
Maybe it’s low standards maybe they saw the Browns on ESPN during this off-season .,………Heck, many they own losing WR OBJ in fantasy.
If you figure it out hollar at me cause they are a enigma to me.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:13 pm
If you have a dominant pass rush, you’re going to play good defense!
March 14th, 2019 at 2:20 pm
I’ve always thought that Defense was built from the coach….down,
March 14th, 2019 at 2:24 pm
Kellen Winslow is a piece of garbage, and you guys are offended by Joe saying “allegedly…”?! At what point do we put away the P.C. blinders and call it like it is?!
Grow a pair! Heck, calling him “garbage” is an insult to garbage! Hey, but he can play football right?!
And no, the irony is not lost on me.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:30 pm
I still believe Benenoch would make a better RT than a G. He’s just too slow coming out of a 3point or 4point stance. He can’t get his pad level lower than the defender without being off balance. Watch his tape. He’s decent in pass protection where he can put his center of balance over his hips but is ineffective at run blocking when his weight is transferred beyond his center of gravity. He spends too more time getting off the ground on run plays.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:30 pm
Wait, wasn’t Winslow accused of getting into a hot tub at a gym with a woman without clothes and then touching her foot. I missed the rape part. Also what kind of woman is getting in a hot tub at a gym? Also what kind of gym has a hot tub?
The whole Winslow stuff is deviant, but being a perv isn’t rape.
Unless I missed a major headline somewhere.
Also wasn’t Pamphile injured like 2 games into the season for the Titans? I never got why they let him go and then brought back that awful waste Evan Smith.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:31 pm
Mike
If you want class why in the hell are you following a sports blog much less a bucs blog. Now back to your safe space…. i will give you credit though you are the first one to get butthurt over a winslow bashing outside of ron Jeremy and harvey Weinstein…. i bet you are a newly converted Christian cult member…. judge on!!!!
March 14th, 2019 at 2:31 pm
Anyway, I’m glad Stocker and Pamphile are having success in their careers. Pamphile could’ve been our LT with Smith at RT or vice versa. AND, the last time I checked that we had a running game, some guy named Luke was opening holes.
Ah, the memories!
March 14th, 2019 at 2:46 pm
Quick Question for the group. Can we win with the same O-line from last year, and 1 pro bowler in our back 7?
5-11 Boys.
Again, incredible case study coming on effect of a new coach. Either we are worse than 5-11, or we go to the playoffs.
March 14th, 2019 at 2:54 pm
Jon Robinson > Jason Licht
Jason Licht = Matt Millen
March 14th, 2019 at 2:56 pm
Bucsfanman that’s a solid point to about Stocker. He was a vastly underrated player
I’m not sorry he’s gone be ause Dirk had little need for a TE like him but he was a very solid player.
You can also use a TE like him as a major part to the reason why we dropped from Top 5 to bottom five rush game after 2015 & every year after.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:11 pm
JimmyJack- He reminded me of that FB we used to have that used to block for A-Train. A role player, GRINDER, a no-nonsense, go to work kind of guy.
He was a tad slow for a pass-catcher though!
March 14th, 2019 at 3:12 pm

My answer to your question is yes. Absolutely
Our offense is more then good enough to win even with Benechot as a RG. The offense has proven to be legit
The defense is atrocious but that defense is dead. They are done. Tampa 2 has been here for 3 decades and will finally be gone. We are embarking on a brand new day and age for this defense. A new era!!!!
I suppose it’s easy to assume this defense is still last place because that’s what we were. It I’m going to hold my hope. I’m just looking forward to seeing something more then steady 4 man pressure. 1st down, 2nd down, 3rd down…,,..4man steady 60 minutes.
Just seeing a new defense has me stoked. Only 1 other team still uses a pure Tampa 2 and their HC will be fired this season. It will be exciting to run something new……Gut says the players will embrace it and have fun and will be able to play above average. I will be at game one and will be leaving a Tampa 2 playbook on the deck of the ship ………Y’all are invited to wipe your feet with it and give e it a proper burial.
Going above 8-8 is my minamul requirement this year. 4-2 in the division & a 6-2 home record are also requirements.
GO BUCS!!!
First let’s get good then we can get great!
March 14th, 2019 at 3:15 pm
We don’t need a TE…..but I see that ASJ is a free agent…..
And, as far as “accused serial rapists” are concerned…..I guess many would say that Jameis falls into that category along with Justice Kavanaugh…….
Don’t think you will see Joe hanging that label on “America’s QB”
March 14th, 2019 at 3:18 pm
The glorification of Stocker is insane, it’s like reading about Hump. He was a good blocking TE that couldn’t get open and couldn’t catch anything. The rushing offense in 2015 was good because Martin and Sims were both outstanding, and Dirk wasn’t completely predictable like he became after the lynch mob got Lovie fired. After Lovie was fired and Dirk was in control he was no longer spending 24/7 being the OC, he was now a just a part time OC and became ultra predictable, in particular in the run game. Just do something as minor as mix up the play calling and watch as the Bucs running game suddenly works again, even if it’s the same players.
Regardless it’s 2019 and who cares about the run. We literally just saw the best offense in the history of the team and people are whinning about the running game. We had the worst scoring defense in team history, and people care that the YPA on offense was .3 yards less than optimal while we have the top passing offense in the game and in team history…
March 14th, 2019 at 3:22 pm
Pamphile was the Bucs best lineman his second to last year, looked like a heck of a long term starter in the making !!! Then he regressed ??? Never really knew why ???
March 14th, 2019 at 3:22 pm
Bucsfanman – Pamphile started 28 games at guard and 1 game at right tackle… How you take that and turn it into Pamphile should have been the starting left tackle is truly special.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:22 pm
NOTEWORTHY point about the atrosious defense is that we are getting help with our five pick.
I told y’all from the beginning that #5 would not be the trade slot and speculation is starting to proove it. Teams that want QBs are sitting there sweating out 4 selections………….This is the Vita Vea we are talking about. QB=franchise changing opportunities.
You trade you’re entire draft if you have a crystal ball that sees the next Marino or Brady…….teams don’t wait and gamble against their future franchises so let’s get it into perspective.
The wild card is the Cardinals. Do they actually pull the trigger on a quarterback at number one? after that somebody is definitely trading up for a another quarterback. Highly doubtful #5 is the only team willing to consider a trade. Very highly.
What this means is great news. Bosa is in play………believe it. I’d rather have Q and he is in play. Some people would rather have Allen. He’s in play.
I just don’t want Bosa. He has theakinhs of a pure pure bust.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:22 pm
The makings*
March 14th, 2019 at 3:24 pm
Rod Munch read the article. Phampile was converted to T as soon as he left Tampa.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:25 pm
Maybe let’s put the “II” after Kellen Winslow, Joe, lest some peeps who don’t follow the creep news closely think the Hall of Famer is in trouble.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:34 pm
As far as I’m concerned, the top priorities in our draft (at this time) are MLB, OG, S, CB……and in that order……
Looking at FA……I would hope the CB position could be taken off the board by acquiring a serviceable CB.
I am also hopeful we get a RB.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:35 pm
Rod- If memory serves, Kevin was a TACKLE when we drafted him out of Purdue.
It was a hypothetical anyways. We play guys all over the place out of position! So now it’s so crazy mentioning Pamphile at RT or LT?!
We know how you feel about the run-game. However, what were those team ranked in rushing that made the playoffs? I bet top 20, and that is seriously low-balling.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:39 pm
JimmyJack – He played like 2 games in Tennessee as a tackle before he was injured for the year. I was actually paying attention to him last year since I thought it was a huge mistake to let him go and thought he’d do well – and he was doing well. Regardless there’s nothing that says he’s a starting LT, that’s nonsense. He was a swing G-T and a pretty good one that was still developing, which is why it was dumb to dump him and keep someone as worthless as Evan Smith around, who was truly horrifically bad last year. With as much as people bag on Benenoch, he was worlds better than Evan Smith, who, when he wasn’t giving up sacks was getting hold penalties.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:43 pm
Bucsfanman – In your speculation you made a guy with 1 career start at tackle, for the Bucs, the new starting LT and took your $13m LT and moved him to right tackle. That’s what I was mocking. It’s called hyperbole.
BTW I’m fine with hyperbole on message boards, so that’s not a criticism, people should be hyperbolic with language and examples on message boards, it makes it less boring.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:45 pm
Tampabaybucfan… I’d say CB, LB, S, CB, LB, LB, OG in that order.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:46 pm
Pamphile would have been the permanent replacement for Dotson but stupid WArFLOP didn’t listen to my posts and put him at LG which was not his forte and Licht let him go. Warhop didn’t have the sense to move D. Smith to Guard where he could be an All Pro either. Thank goodness Warhop is gone!
March 14th, 2019 at 3:51 pm
Rod Much… As I recall Phampile was promoted and named a starting G for the Bucs in the 2017. He was not a swing player that year he was one of our 22(very much like Benechot was promoted this year).
About Phampile being a LT, like I said read the article. It didn’t suggest it, it said it.
I dont focus on LT or RT but if he performs as a T and couldn’t perform as a G for Dirk then it’s evidence that our HC was a failure at developing OL. That’s my whole jist of it.
March 14th, 2019 at 3:57 pm
JimmyJack – My comment on LT was on Bucsfanman saying he should be the starting LT right now and move Smith to RT, that’s what I was mocking. Phampile could have developed into a starting RT, he showed a little promise there, but we didn’t see much, even in Tennessee he wasn’t healthy enough to have seen much. Regardless he would have been a starting guard last year, and Dotson is good still, so there’s no need to rush him out the door because of his age.
March 14th, 2019 at 4:02 pm
Rod- Whew! For a minute I thought you were serious! LOL!
Agreed on hyperbole. What balls would we bust without it?!
March 14th, 2019 at 4:04 pm
The word should needs to be eliminated from sports conversations. Anytime you say something here you are always wrong when you use that word.
I even spotted Joe himself using that word the other day. He has never been wronger.
March 14th, 2019 at 4:12 pm
I ain’t worried about our OL. Just find a way to run the ball that it.
The pass blocking is above average. They have let Jamie’s take a 11-step drop….then they can hold up the protection while Jamies surveys his 5 options and still have time to change his decision twice…….this line can hold up in pass pro. No doubt.
March 14th, 2019 at 4:18 pm
JimmyJack – I’m with you, I am not actually worried about the o-line. They were good at pass blocking, and finding a guard isn’t that hard. You can draft a guy in the 2nd round and start him from day assuming he’s not a bust, so that is something we can fix in the draft.
In fact if the Bucs traded down a few spots, still took Greedy in the first, picked up a 2nd, you could get LB there, and an OG there, all three should start from day one and you’re in good shape. If you can turn that 1st into two 2nds, like last year, and still get Greedy, no in the 2nd round you double dip on LBs, still get your G, and you’ve got 4 starters, all young guys.
It’s always risky to count on that many young guys, but G and LB are generally positions where you can get good players in the 2nd round. As for corner, you can generally get a good one at the top of the draft. Always the risk of getting a bust, but less so than at other positions like S and corner.
Then again how does anyone screw up a 2nd round RB selection… So, who knows.
March 14th, 2019 at 4:27 pm
Nobody’s talking to the Bucs about any trades. Right now John Lych is getting all the phone calls. That’s just how it works.
Now maaaaybe they don’t like the price and talk to the Jets but we’re not next.
We are stuck at #5 it seems.
March 14th, 2019 at 4:31 pm
The offensive line likely will have some fixes found in the 3rd or 4th round of the draft, plus cuts after the draft and before camp.
March 14th, 2019 at 5:06 pm
JimmyJack – No one talks about trades at #5 until the draft is happening – you don’t want to trade for #5 when you have no idea who will be on the board. Anyways at #5 the Bucs are in the same shape, you don’t trade the pick without knowing who is on the board either. But my thing is if the Bucs go into the draft needing starters, they’re positions where you can get early starters. Then again when you go into the draft and draft for need, that’s generally when you make mistakes, so it’s risky.
March 14th, 2019 at 5:22 pm
Say what you want about KWJr. The guy never missed a game as a Buc. Not one.
March 14th, 2019 at 5:24 pm
@Rod Munch. Rest assured my friend that when we pick the best player available, it will also serve a position of need for us. That’s the beauty of having about 12 positions of need.
March 14th, 2019 at 5:41 pm
Munch.,,….or their could be a trade before the draft like the Jets did last year.
Just like then none of us ever know. Either way Q could slip right to us!!
March 14th, 2019 at 5:43 pm
cmurda – Haha, fair enough.
March 14th, 2019 at 5:47 pm
JimmyJack – The Jets were at #3 and needed a QB and there was 3 they wanted, so they knew who they knew they’d one of those guys at #3. At #5, unless you have 5 guys who are rock solid surefire home runs, trades generally don’t get done until people see how the board falls. Obviously there’s always an exception, but it would be risky to trade to #5 ahead of time only to see someone trade to #4 to take the guy you wanted.
March 14th, 2019 at 5:57 pm
More evidence of bad coaching and talent evaluation. How often do we see players leave Tampa and play their butts off and succeed elsewhere? Bad coaching, bad coaching, bad coaching.
Ian Beckles sounded like someone stole his last hot cake this afternoon when talking about the Bucs being so conservative in Free agency. ITS BECAUSE THEY HAVE A REAL COACH NOW!!!
March 15th, 2019 at 12:24 pm
Warhop basically lucked out with the 2015 performance of the o-line.
I have to think that’s the only reason he stayed employed as long as he did.
He absolutely sucked every season before that, and the o-line has equally sucked every year since.
Yet we just stood there and didn’t make a change. No accountability in this organization, and it starts at the top.
