Best Team In Professional Sports History?

March 6th, 2019

If your head has been buried in football since last summer, you might want to come up for air and see what the Tampa Bay Lightning is doing. Their record is a ridiculous 51-12-4, and they potentially could clinch a playoff berth as early as Saturday.

Jay Feaster breaks down when (not if) the Lightning will punch their playoff ticket and raises the question if this team is the best in professional sports history? It’s all in The Identity Tampa Bay video below.

    love the lighting and wish bucs franchise was half as professional but it’s the nhl calm down…. gender neutral synchronized swimming gets better ratings on television than nhl hockey.

  2. Loyaltotheend Says:

    Gotta win the cup to earn that designation

    But again this is the city that labels “franchise QB’s” without the player ever earning it

  3. DBS Says:

    No “Loafing” on this team. No “Me first” players here. Just a team with owners, coaches and players and the will to win it all. So glad the Glazers don’t own this team to screw it up. Go BOLTS!!

  4. Cobraboy Says:

    If only Vinik would buy the Bucs.

  5. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

    They need to win the whole thing to be considered this otherwise they are the Atlanta Braves, Buffalo Bills or the Minny Vikings

  6. DBS Says:

    Tmax that is only Broadcast TV. NHL has it’s own channel plus is shown on other channels like NBCSN. Hockey fans watch Hockey. And Lightning games are sold out every night when they are at home. Try that with the putrid Bucs.

  7. Steven007 Says:

    Did the Bucs change their name? Oh this is a hockey post on a Bucs blog. Now I get it.

  8. DBS Says:

    If you notice there is even a JoeBoltsFan on this site too!

  9. Cobraboy Says:

    Nothing wrong with a little cross-promotion.

    dbs

    i complimented the bolts but the league viewership numbers since they lost major tv deal is pretty sad my man…

  11. Doctor_berto Says:

    I prefer watching and going to lightning games over the Bucs. Hockey is slowly becoming my favorite sport over the sissy new NFL.

  12. Frank Pillow Says:

    Any update on Cooper’s contract?!?!? He’s the most important pending FA in the Bay Area and beyond…yet nothing, radio silence.

    @DBS

    It’s a fun niche sport between football seasons but no way hockey would fill a 65k seat arena 41 times a year here in Tampa

    The attendance is cool but comparing it to NFL games is like comparing Jameis to a winning QB

  14. Steven007 Says:

    ∆ This.

  15. DBS Says:

    The comparison is. The Bucs suck so bad They can’t sell out 1 game.

  16. Loyaltotheend Says:

    @DBS

    Which is false as they’ve had at least 2 sellouts in 2018…

    Again nice niche sport but nowhere near the NFL

    More people watch the AAF than NHL

  17. DBS Says:

    Sorry Loyal. I never said it was the NFL. And they had no sellouts. Staduim is 65,890. Closet they came was the Pitts game at about 62,000. But to each his own.

  18. T REX Says:

    @ loyal…the bucs wouldn’t sell out 41 games at 65k either. Numbnuts.

    Butthurt football fans…2nd potato now. I ditched my club seats for season tix with the Bolts. 1st class everything. The Bucs are far behind the Bolts in every category.

    And until they win the cup the best team in Tampa sports history is the 02 Bucs

  19. Darin Says:

    Yeah not sure why the media must “label” everyone and team. Best team ever? Havnt finished the regular season. My goodness. Size and physicality show up in the playoffs. We shall see if theyre still the best then. Hope so but we dont even know if they’re the best team in the NHL playoffs this year. Playoffs?$%&?

  20. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

    Go Bolts!

    They will be tested when the refs put their whistles away in the playoffs. Someone might have to go outside their comfort zone and play the old fashioned goon role.

  21. Jerry Says:

    they HAVE won the cup

  22. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

    T REX…I guess you forgot about the 2004 Bolts.

  23. Loyaltotheend Says:

    @Jerry

    No cup this year means they aren’t the greatest
