Bucs “Utterly Lost On Offense”
December 14th, 2009Joe didn’t think Bucs offensive coordinator Greg Olson’s play-calling was as atrocious as the loss to Carolina when, with Josh Freeman clearly struggling, Olson called pass after pass in the red zone.
But Rick Cimini of the New York Daily News sees the Bucs offense differently. After watching the Bucs look like a two-bit Wing-T high school team on offense, Cimini did not hold back his words on the Bucs offense.
The Bucs looked utterly lost on offense. The play calling stunk, and their rookie QB, Josh Freeman, looked like he’d never played the position before. The Bucs were 0-for-14 on third down. How is that possible?
Indeed! Joe also wonders how that is possible for an NFL team not to convert one third down in 14 tries — not one! Granted, the Jets have a damned good defense. But not one third down conversion, none?
Greg Olson, do you have anything to say for yourself?

Ok I can’t stand this anymore. I didn’t really want THIS job. I was happy being the QB coach. When KC called I thought, geez the weather isn’t so hot in Kansas and the next thing I know is Raheem fires Jeff and BAM here I am as offensive coordinator.
Look YOU try calling the plays for this team. I’m on the 4th QB in 1 season. I couldn’t read Jagodzinski’s handwritting so I pulled out the old Gruden playbook. Yeah it’s complicated but at least we’ve heard the verbage before. That zone blocking scheme was just too complicated for the guys. Heck it caused Aaron Sears to have a nervous breakdown when you read the initial playbook!
So I call a lot of passes! So what. Hey it’s not like it’s ME throwing the ball. Whenever I call a run play Caddy only gets like 3 yards. So if I call 3 running plays in a row it’ll be 4th and 1. Raheem told me to keep the offense out of those situations because he gets too nervous and doesn’t know what to do.
So we call lots of passes. Didn’t you see the almost 400 yards of offense we put up against the Panthers last week? Now less than 1 week later you all want to crucify me for calling a pass on the first play of the game.
Look Freeman is a big boy and I’ve told him time and time again NOT to throw to the other team. He just doesn’t listen to me. He’s so annoying. He’s knocking on my office door everyday wanting to watch tape with me but I told him I just don’t have the time – go ask Bryon.
For awhile Freeman was learning from Leftwich but he was so annoying that Bryon bopped Josh on the head to shut him up and hurt his elbow. He decided to go home than stick around here.
So you see it’s not easy being an OC on this team; especially when this guy “Joe” is always ragging on our team. I mean look at Jim Bates! The next thing you know Joe will be calling for MY head too! JIMMINY CHRISTMAS!

Thank you for showing the courage to answer Joe’s question Coach Olson.
Now do yourself a favor before you find youself scraping ice off your windshield ever morning working at Missouri Western College and throw Chucky’s playbook in the nearest fireplace, will ya’?

Every player on the Buc’s Offense should give their paychecks for this week to the defense! The Buc’s defensive players were the only players who actually played yesterday!

The Bucs were 0-for-14 on third down. How is that possible?
Atrocious coaching and an incompetent QB!
They made it look easy didn’t they.
