“They Don’t Know A Thing About Jameis”
February 16th, 2019The one thing that is pretty cool about the Bucs’ draft class of 2015 is how tight they are.
Ali Marpet has often stated he, Donovan Smith, Kwon Alexander and America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, want to stick together to be known as the draft class that turned around the Bucs’ horrid ways into a those of a winner.
That spirit of camaraderie showed up earlier this week on “Good Morning, Football,” seen on NFL Network, when Smith made an in-studio appearance. Smith fielded a question about Jameis and how polarizing he is and he was asked if Jameis eating Ws and other antics are legit or just stunts.
Smith quickly defended Jameis and scoffed at his critics.
“They don’t know a thing about Jameis, you feeling me?” Smith said. “He’s the most humblest, coolest guy to be around. He loves his teammates, genuinely [Smith said as he pointed to his chest]. You feel me? He wants you to succeed and be great — yeah, it’s all real.”
Smith then told of a story of going to Jameis’ house when he was hosting a bunch of his personal friends. Smith said Jameis interacted with his friends just like he would in the locker room at One Buc Palace or out to dinner with teammates.
“That’s my guy,” Smith added.
Ironically, in a few weeks the only players left from that Bucs draft class very well could be Jameis and Marpet. Both Alexander and Smith could become free agents.

“defended Jameis defense”
You may want to delete the word defense.
And then delete this post.

Have you reached out to glennon for that janitorial position open at your practice yet???

It’s tough but this is what happens when you lose and you’re up against the cap.

Donovan Smith–if you were real about this love you have for your brother Jameis than you wouldn’t of hung him out to dry in the Dallas game. Fact is drug addict Randy Gregory beat you and you gave up on the play and just stood there watching Gregory run up on Winston and force the fumble which lost us that game.
Stupid commentary from you-please get your ass traded or learn to play guard–you aint worth a piece of more than half the time.

You feel me. He must have said that 100x. I digress.
Q Williams at 5 would be nice but ….I’m guessing licht drafts a Tackle for the right side. Idk.
I watched a lot of Caleb’s plays and I can’t think of any positives that stood out not even a down field block. All I saw was a guy with his head buried in the sand and whiffing at every snap. Dotson wasn’t much better and to think he was our best player just 3-4 knee surgeries ago. 🥁 Ijs
Ideally my boy DSmith could slide to LG w marpet at RG and rookie RT and an overpaid but high quality veteran LT like a pro bowler or something.
DSmith just has too much trouble with the speed rush. He is not lazy he simply struggles to stay with his block as they bend the corner. He had one great game against one great DE, that I can recall which isn’t saying much cuz my memory is shot. 😁😤 💨 ☁️ 🧠
I’m a fan of DSmith. I remember picking him out of a lineup about 4-5 years ago when we needed a LT after cutting Donald Penn like a bunch of idi…I digress.
Smith, imo, is a great run blocker, strong and quick enough to get downfield on lbs but those speed rushers are his biggest weakness.
Here’s another one that I’m picking out of a lineup

Oh please if they wanted to turn this franchise around then they would’ve made a splash since game 1. Who cares if smith was injured once in his career, does he get a participation trophy?
February 16th, 2019 at 4:12 am
“Most humblest”?
Another scholar I see………
Bye bye and take Softie with ya Bro.
Ya feelin’ me dawg?

You don’t let Smith go without already having a guaranteed upgrade on the roster. That’s just idiocy. You keep a guy until you can do better than him. Or as Raheem would say I’ll keep you till I can replace you. That’s the smart way, and only way really, to do it. Certain fans can be such idiots, wanting to let a guy go for emotional reasons. Use your damn brain for a change.

DB55, excellent post … spot on. Personally hoping that we draft an OLineman in one of top 2 rounds who can play Left AND Right Tackle (competition for Donovan at LT assuming we re-sign him AND also a backup in case he gets injured). Would also love to see Smith slide over to LG and eventually it may play out that way, but more than likely he’ll at least start off at LT if they franchise him for $14-$15 mil.

They were undrafted but pretty cool that Humphries and Brate are from that same year. Will never forget Jameis talking those guys up and working hard with them as fellow rookies and thinking “yeah sure Jameis..those guys aren’t going to make final cuts”. How wrong was I? Goes to show how much it probably meant to those guys that the number 1 pick and soon to be team leader believed in them.

I would be shocked if he gets long term deal.
Franchise tag him. See what “potentially” real coaching can do for his average play.
Warhop was” que terrible. “
Give him year and then make decision.
Same with Jameis. He gets at least year to see what he can do with “potentially” real coaching.
And then could even tag him year after that.
I know arians has 3 year window and wants to win now so that could make things complicated.
Gotta build offense and defensive lines. Big time. They are just not good enough.
Seeing article after article about some team jumping to top 5 to get a qb…we need to hope that Murray blows up the combine. And his pro day.
February 16th, 2019 at 7:46 am
Tag him for this year and draft his replacement.
February 16th, 2019 at 8:07 am
Give him a 1 year prove it deal with better coaching an see if he’s worth resigning if not then dump him an replace him. Better coaching is going to go along way with a lot of players on the roster that everyone think is a bust
February 16th, 2019 at 8:11 am
FLBoy I agree 1000%…
We can’t let Smith walk without making sure we’ve found a sufficient replacement or upgrade…
I don’t believe Smith has earned top tackle $ but he has earned a raise…hopefully we can find middle ground during contract negotiations so both sides are happy ..
February 16th, 2019 at 8:20 am
Smith is looking for 4 years 60 mil.
Same thing Nate soldier got from giants who also was rated as average.
February 16th, 2019 at 8:31 am
Donovan Smith says
“(Jameis) loves his teammates, genuinely. You feel me? He wants you to succeed and be great — yeah, it’s all real.”
———-
You can criticize elements of JW’s game, obviously.
But if you don’t see this element in Jameis, as a teammate, than you honestly just must hate the guy and don’t even want him to succeed.

“Give him a 1 year prove it deal with better coaching an see if he’s worth resigning if not then dump him an replace him.”

Literally PERFECTLY said.
Nothing to add. Nice job.

Joe … Have had a number of comments go into ‘the cooler’ & never come out, but never seem to hear why. I remember that several others have had similar things happen with their comments. I’m suspecting that it’s because I sometimes quote from other sites (like BA’s recent interview on buccaneers.com). If that’s a ‘no-no’ then just tell me & won’t do it again. People can’t be expected to abide by rules they aren’t aware of.

“They don’t know a thing about Jameis,”
Very true statement!!!!!! But that is because its hard to tell what are the lies and his truths are anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2019 season will reveal answers to the sheep, That the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sure doesn’t block or hustle for him like they are best friends, with friends like him who needs enemies?

We don’t know nothin bout jameis? Please..Give me a break! We know this..
Its past time for him to step up and take charge of this team. Its past time for him to mature. And its past time for him to start winning. I could care less
about him being likable or nice. Its time for him to step up and start Winning consistently. If he cannot start this year? I say throw him to the wolves! Nect!!!

If you’re talking to a female interviewer, are you still allowed to say “you feel me” or is that considered harassment? Asking for a friend.

Jameis is a great man. The only people who don’t love him are BSPN, Mike Terible-Rico, Ronde “did you forget you were a Buc dummy” Barber, and the Winston Bashers. Go get em Jameis!
