Jaws Chomps Down On DeSean Jackson
February 4th, 2019Former 17-year NFL quarterback Ron “Jaws” Jaworski may have gotten the boot from ESPN a couple of years ago, but he’s still dialed in to the NFL, especially his old friends like Bucco Bruce Arians and DeSean Jackson.
It turns out Jaworski was the Chiefs’ backup QB in 1989 when Arians was there coaching running backs. Per Jaworski, that’s where the pair built on a friendship that started years earlier when he was the Eagles’ starting QB and Arians was head coach at Temple University.
Jaworski told WDAE-AM 620 last week that his old pal is perfect for the modern game despite his 66 years on the planet. (Jaws is one year older.)
“I think today’s game is not always about the Xs and Os; I think it’s about the players relating to the coach and the players playing for each other and playing for the coach,” Jaworski said. “And I think you will see a discernible difference in the way Bruce coaches as opposed to the way other coaches in the past in Tampa Bay have coached.”
Asked about malcontent Jackson, Jaws got animated in a hurry.
“I think DeSean Jackson ought to just shut up and play,” Jaworskie said. “I’m being honest. I like DeSean Jackson and I know him, but that’s not his place.
“You know, one week he wants to go back to Philadelphia, the next he wants to go to the Rams. I mean, c’mon. Who’s paying you right now? That should be your only concern. DeSean Jackson should worry about his job, not anyplace else he’s going to play. Focus on his team, his quarterback, his responsibilities to the team, the organization and the city and just focus on that. He’s all over the board and I think he’s dead wrong.”
Joe agrees with Jaworski on all fronts here, Arians and Jackson.
A warm and fuzzy nugget in the interview was Jaworski talking about his years calling Buccaneers’ preseason games and how much he got to understand Tampa Bay fans and their passion.

can’t blame djax he has not caused the dysfunction in the Bucs organization for the better part of 16 years that honor is solely on the glazers.

DJax is living rent free inside of Joes head lol

I am puzzled why Arians is reaching out to Djax given the problems with Djax & Winston and Djax’s public disrespect for his team……perhaps its just Arians style to try to mend fences and patch things up if he can….but we have cap problems and even if Djax was a good Buc….he’d still be difficult to justify.
In the end….I think he’s gone.
In the words of one of my favorite comedians, Richard Pryor….”How long will this $hit go on…..how long”?

Either trade him or just release him. I’m really sick & tired of reading about him.

Always a scapegoat.

JAWS should still be with ESPN. I always liked him. Apparently, the sentiment wasn’t widely shared. I strongly agree with his comments about BA and DJax. I just want a resolution of any kind with DJax. I’m not a fan of his crap but whatever the case is, sick of talking about this baby.

Wait so you mean being relateable isnt a racist thing after all? According to the know it alls on JBF it is.
February 4th, 2019 at 8:06 pm
Haha. Funny as hell how he said he wants to go to the Rams. Uh yeah, they were just in the Super Bowl. Other than Patriots players, who in the NFL wouldn’t want to play for them. Jacka$$.

My favorite memory of being at a game in Tampa was beating Jaws in the game that sent us to our first NFC championship game. Straight shooter, he is like royalty in Philly and he knows DJax better than probably any media member you can find. The sooner Jackson gets out of town the better.

In Joe’s defense….(I don’t know why)
There was no write ups on DJax all day yesterday.
🙂

Get rid of DJax and pay Hump!!!

Do you need a hug?
You pretty much hate the world ? Do you like anyone or anything about the team ?

Howard pictures Joe tossing and turning at 4am while muttering
“Djax….aauuhm….(smack) …No!……Licht no!…Djax…aaa…”

@TBBF
I’ve asked myself that same question…why bother. But perhaps this is for the rest of the team and showing them that BA is fair and doesn’t judge anybody on past transgressions.
He obviously has wiped the slate clean for JW and BA is aware that the team and locker room has their eye on him. Meeting with DJAX may be as much a PR stunt for the locker room as any real interest.
Just guessing here because I basically agree with you. Hard to understand this meeting.

I think nothing will happen until Licht gets among the GMs who need a wide receiver at the Combine.

Potential Defensive Depth Chart

@Luv. Are we incorporating a trade of first round picks in your trade with the Rams or is the trade down with a different team after swapping DJax and Brockers straight up?
February 4th, 2019 at 11:21 pm
Murda
My bad – First off, before the new league year begins
I would trade DJAX to LA.
Then around draft time – I would trade down with one of the quarterback needy teams.
And draft Mississippi St. DE/DT Jeffery Simmons.
Followed by either Isaiah Buggs or Gerald Willis in the 2nd round.
February 4th, 2019 at 11:28 pm
Then yes, I like it.

LUV I like Simmons too, he is one thick dude. He seems to be a really humble guy that has turned his life around and taken advantage of his opportunity. I believe his incident was a one time heat of the moment thing a young kid does.
I wonder how far he might slip because of his past, do you think he makes it to 15, where Washington picks?

I have not seen that suggested by anyone else. Extremely great suggestion.

Rams are a one and done team. They won’t return to the Superbowl any time soon. Great promotion tool for a freshly moved team.
They are certainly not an example of how things should be done, because it won’t last.
The Patriots, on the other hand, are the best example in NFL history.
Tom Brady is not the only reason they keep winning. Their Superbowls have been close games in recent years for a reason.
Fans are so busy being envious of them that they fail to see the examples they set.
February 5th, 2019 at 7:31 am
Ever notice that half the posts in a DJax article are from people complaining that the DJax article is there and how tired they are of it?
Anyone else see the irony in that? LOL
Still think you are smarter than JOE and that there is not a reason for the success of JBF in these 10 years?
Look, Joe just writes about what Joe finds interesting as it relates to the Bucs. The minute Joe starts worrying about public opinion, that’s when it’ll be time for Joe to mail it in. –Joe

People are forgetting, for a team to trade a player the biggest problem you’ll have is for teams to just wait till you cut the player. BA can’t sell off Djax unless it looks like he wants him. I wanted him gone at trade deadline last year. Good riddance you under performing, overly paid, child who needs to just go away, PERIOD!
