Meeting Of The Minds
February 3rd, 2019The brand new 2019 Ranger from Bill Currie Ford in Tampa is smoothly cruising down the road. But the rig is approaching a T-intersection shortly.
That Ranger represents malcontent wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Just days after spouting off that he doesn’t have to work hard as a veteran and that he prefers to play for the Rams, Jackson and new Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians tentatively plan on having a sitdown this week.
After the meeting, it should be known which way that Ranger will head. Will it take the left turn and be released or traded, or will that Ranger take a right turn and Jackson will remain with the Bucs?
Arians was caught by TMZ.com (in classic TMZ form, the interviewer begged for Arians’ attention by claiming he’s a “big Bucs fan”) at some red carpet function in Atlanta this weekend during one of many Super Bowl events. Arians said he has a meeting tentatively scheduled with Jackson in the next few days.
TMZ: What are you going to do to keep DeSean Jackson?
Bruce Arians: It’s up to DeSean. He is under contract. I love him. We will see how this goes. He and I are going to meet [this] week. Hopefully, he wants to play. … He’s a Buc.
Joe is guessing we may find out one way or another later this week Jackson’s immediate Bucs future when Jackson, as he is wont to do, will turn to his Instagram account. S
Saturday night, he posted many videos from what appeared to be Monster Jam at the Den of Depression. So it appears Jackson is in town.
You may watch the full video of Arians’ interview on TMZ.com below.

Please release the clown, we don’t need characters like this on this team, everyone who wants to be great works hard, just ask the GOAT #12.
February 3rd, 2019 at 2:24 am
He’s an ex-Buc.
A narcissistic locker room cancer who anchors the ‘me’ in ‘team’.
Look at his IG…dude thinks he’s a bad ass gangsta…one who obviously failed grammar.
Just can’t stand this malcontent.
He’s an ex-Buc.

I’ve been done with Mesean Jackson. We as Bucs fans just need to remain classy and let life take it’s course. There is no way in hell he remains on the team being the cancer that he is and has been. He’s going to have to shape up, attitude wise and money wise. Whether he can, only time will tell. There’s a new sheriff in town, Mr. Jackson. Ship up or don’t let the door hit you on your way out. Go Bucs.
February 3rd, 2019 at 2:42 am
Trade him to the Chiefs.
Let him finish out his Hall of Fame career with a winner.
I love my Bucs but we are still the Yucs.

A few weeks on the job and there’s drama and mouths spewing everywhere. Great start, this is gonna turn out well? Better to cut the flapping mouths first to get a fresh start and new team. Djax, McCoy and WinSTUNNED are the problems not the solution…
February 3rd, 2019 at 6:13 am
We NEED the $10 mil to fix our OLine, re-sign Hump & add a veteran RB to our offense. Wave Bye Bye to DJax & let’s move on to fixing what REALLY needs to be fixed.
February 3rd, 2019 at 6:30 am
Make him want to stay…..beg to stay…..publicly claim he really wants to be a Buc…..then cut him.
February 3rd, 2019 at 6:40 am
Boy
If Bucco Arians is this so called “no BS” coach, then why would you try to keep this clown??????
Brucie should just say “F U” and move on.
……… Not a good look old timer

Ha ha ha….. Nah, that ain’t it dude
……. DJax is just an over privileged black guy with WAY too much money
February 3rd, 2019 at 7:51 am
Fingers crossed for Jamies to compete deep passes to Desean Jackson
No Desean Jackson = No 2020 Super Bowl
February 3rd, 2019 at 8:01 am
I don’t mind a little player drama. In fact, it’s a good think. As the ole saying goes, “if it doesn’t kill you it makes you stronger.” If this petty little drama dooms the Bucs then they were doomed anyways because they were mentally weak. BA will figure it out, with or without Jackson.
February 3rd, 2019 at 8:01 am
Like I said on the earlier djax post.
This is a coach that gets it. Look there’s 0 chance he comes back, but Arians knows the trade market will be terrible if they let this narrative that D-Jax is a pain in the @$$ out there. AND if they let everyone think he’ll be released anyway, whose trading for him?? No one.
This is next level team management, and it’s refreshing. Good job Bruce. Sorry for outing your plan here…
February 3rd, 2019 at 8:28 am
Kinda cool djax in town at monster jam w his family when THE entire football world is getting loose in hotlanta
February 3rd, 2019 at 9:31 am
Winston is not accurate enough to connect with Djax so move him…Unless your going to start Fitz!
February 3rd, 2019 at 9:32 am
I Say since DJax is acting like a Beyotch…… Then treat him like a Beyotch!!!!!!
Hold him here until he’s traded…….
And if DJax wants to pull an Antonio Brown stunt…… Then that’s even better….. Let him lose his cash
February 3rd, 2019 at 9:45 am
Most likely and realistically DJax is cut….but in the event some foolish teams want to outbid each other with a 4th round pick like the 49ers or Eagles or Redskins maybe (if they get Kyler Murray at QB perhaps), then what I WOULD LIKE Licht to do, is trade DJax to a MISERABLY COLD team like Buffalo, where the Cali boy would be LIVID!!
That would be CLASSIC…. the Oakland warm weather kid pissed as hell having to play outdoors in Buffalo from October on, with no prospects of winning, or mattering in the playoffs.
Get it done Licht! Sweet revenge for Bucs, against the MeSean beotch with a 4th rounder to boot!!
February 3rd, 2019 at 9:57 am
D Jacks is under sized and washed up as an Elite WR. His production is the same as a middle of the road WR and at this point he is just a flashy name and a high salary.
He clearly does not want to be here and has no interest in trying to develop anything with Jameis Winston.
He is also a terrible influence for some of the younger guys in the locker room as the Bucs are in need of a drastic culture change. I don’t want anymore “cool guys” on the Bucs. I want good football players who are willing to work and play hard……which Desean Jackson is not.
Too many red flags…move on from this guy.
February 3rd, 2019 at 10:15 am
If the Rams win the Super Bowl the prices for their players will go way up and they will lose some players. So offer them Jackson for this year’s 3rd round pick. He can replace a WR they lose. Beats cutting him and getting nothing.
February 3rd, 2019 at 10:17 am
What likely Jackson wants is a Super Bowl Ring and publicity in a big market
February 3rd, 2019 at 10:35 am
Calling Djax a Ford Ranger is such a huge insult. Great work Joe. I was thinking he’s more like the plastic C4 corvette with 245 hp that you can’t hardly give away and breaks every time it loses another race. Pure D Junk
February 3rd, 2019 at 11:39 am
BA just keep talking him up & then trade him. BA can’t keep everybody since we’re in salary cap hell. Dejax, McCoy D. Smith, Grimes all have to go.
February 3rd, 2019 at 11:40 am
I bet Fitz thinks Djax is an excellent receiver …. qb accuracy counts !
February 3rd, 2019 at 11:41 am
Olive branch extended by Bucco Bruce…up to DJax now. Ship may have sailed but I give BA credit for giving it a go.
February 3rd, 2019 at 12:14 pm
Personality and teammate and locker room issues aside…just from a business standpoint DJAX has yet to play like a ten million dollar player. He has yet to earn that salary…Hump has better stats…are we planning to give him ten million?
We have minor cap issues that need to be addressed and whether you like him or not DJAX is simply not worth ten million to this team which is loaded already with targets for JW…both at WR and TE. Save the $$$$
February 3rd, 2019 at 4:36 pm
That Ranger (Ford) represents malcontent wide receiver DeSean Jackson who wants to be a Ram (Dodge).
Trade him to Tennesee so he can be a Titan (Nissan).
Trade him to team way up north so he can be a Tundra (Toyota)
Trade him to Washington so he can be a Tacoma (Toyota).
Hey Joes, is this some kind of Super Bowl Sunday word association sobriety test.
February 3rd, 2019 at 5:31 pm
I believe the marriage is irretrievably broken. If we can trade him, great. If not, let’s cut him. Tremendous disappointment.
February 3rd, 2019 at 9:17 pm
Araians first big decision which should be a
no-brainer: crappy work ethic, locker room cancer, skills eroding.
February 3rd, 2019 at 11:12 pm
#7423 hates Bucs fan, Bucs fans are weak ugly f$gs
patriots and Bill Belichick are the best
