It’s Official: Chucky Scoops Up Brentson Buckner

What had been rumored was made official today.
Chucky, the legendary former Bucs head coach told media at the Senior Bowl that he hired former recently-ousted defensive line coach Brentson Buckner for the same job with homeless Oakland. Joe saw the report at ProFootballTalk.com.
Buckner was a surprise February addition to Dirk Koetter’s staff last year, after the unexpected firing of Jay Hayes.
Buckner, of course, was on Bruce Arians’ staff for years in Arizona but, apparently, the new Bucs boss wanted no part of Buckner, whose rights were held by Tampa Bay for the 2019 season.
On the surface, Buckner feels like a great fit for Chucky, high-energy former player who runs a tight ship.

What is with all this Chucky love? Legendary? Yeah if you include his Monday night football gig.
He was colorful…got tons of publicity but his NFL record stands at 99-93 a whopping .516. If that’s so great what the hell about Arians 49-30 a .619 win % Nitpickers will point out that Arians had the great record with the Colts when Pagano’s health forced him out and Arians took over. But then Chucky won an SB with a team largely built by Sam Wyche. Does anybody believe St. Tony would have drafted GOAT Sapp after the marijuana busts. Wyche did not hesitate.
Chucky sucked this year but I’m willing to give him a couple more years to see if his gut the team for draft picks strategy works. The only other team I can think who loaded up like that with draft picks…Cleveland…and hey 2019 may be their year. Since they are my son’s favorite team I’ll root for them.

The jets r switching over to a 4-3 how much u want to bet we make som kind of trade with them before or during the draft this year🤔🤷♂️

A trade with Oakland might happen but mark my words we will have some kind of trade with the jets. Their new DC is expected to run a 4-3 & their old hc is expected to run a 3-4 as our DC. If not players for picks at least straight up trade players for players

Im starting to think that going forward any player dropped by the Bucs the raiders will pick up more of them yhan any other team from Gruden wanting to show the Bucs how badly they misused players and staff members. I felt like that with Doug and feel the same with this move. Gruden is going to either fly or fal really fast
