C.J. Mosely Versus Kwon Alexander

January 20th, 2019

Bucs GM Jason Licht

After Dirk Koetter was launched for being bad at his job, general manager Jason Licht talked about a no-ego approach to hiring the next Buccaneers head coach.

The whole “no ego” comment was made a couple of times and Joe sure hopes that extends to free agency.

No ego (or thoughts of “investiture,” as Ira Kaufman calls it) is good when evaluating pending free agents Donovan Smith and Kwon Alexander.

Get the best guys for the Bucs. Period. And stop caring so much about re-signing your own guys; care more about hiring the best guys, as part of the best rebuilding plan.

And when it comes to the Tampa Bay defense, you better believe it’s a rebuilding job. It absolutely is.

Regarding Kwon, Joe loves his fire and he’s a good football player. But as a former Pro Bowler and team captain, Kwon is going to want at least $10 million per season, roughly what his buddy Lavonte David earns. In fact, Jenna Laine of ESPN reported weeks ago that Kwon and his agent, oily Drew Rosenhaus, are seeking in the neighborhood of $12 million per year. Joe wants no part of that coming off a torn ACL.

This isn’t a Hall of Fame game-changer with major playoff experience returning from October ACL surgery, like Darrelle Revis was in 2013. This is injury-prone Kwon Alexander coming off November ACL surgery.

That’s harsh, but that’s reality. And the Bucs’ defense was better without Kwon last season. Harsh again, yes, but reality.

Beastly Ravens inside linebacker C.J. Mosely, 26, is likely to hit the free agent market when the dinner bell rings in mid-March. Nearly every season Baltimore has salary cap issues and their four-time Pro Bowl linebacker, who has missed just three games in five seasons, could be set free.

Joe would love to see the Bucs all over Mosely in a hurry. He’s a culture-changer type of player. The guy was a captain as a rookie — in Baltimore — and lived up to the hype.

Joe gets that it’s easy to emotionally cling to favorite players like Kwon, and for the front office to want to see its guy to succeed in-house, but changing the defense will require changing core players.

After power broker defensive coordinator Todd Bowles assesses the personnel, if he’s leaning 3-4 base defense, then push him over the top and go get Mosely. Let his agent know behind the scenes that Team Glazer will open the vault.

Great read Joe. I want this team to get the players to win. Kwon is a good player, on a bad team. And like you said, The D played better without him. Bring in a sure fire pro bowl bad ass, and change this D around. I see Licht and BA making wholesale changes.

  2. AlteredEgo Says:

Jason and Jamyth….2 QB’s taken in years after Jameis will be playing this afternoon….so much for “potential”

  3. Hodad Says:

Joe you make to much sense. Tampa fans love their losers. Throw McCoy, and David in as the biggest underachievers to ever play here. When was the last time Gerry had a sack to win a game, or David a pick to seal the deal? Remember when that was standard for Sapp, and Brooks? Low standard Buc fans love living in the NFC south basement with their so called stars.

  4. Tbeartbb Says:

Remember – it all started when Hardy N was brought in

  5. Wright Says:

If Kwon thinks he’s getting 12 million off a bum knee and a second-ballot pro-bowl selection last season I can’t help him understand reality…18 games missed in 4 seasons is NOT a good track record.

  6. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I would consider Mosely an upgrade at the position even if Kwon wasn’t coming off an injury. Get Mosely, and if Kwon comes to his senses and takes a modest 1 year prove it deal I day sign him as well. I’d prefer to build the talent level of this team

  7. Kobe Faker Says:

“Are coaches forced to play Gumps wiffs and busts?

Are we going to continuously see Benonoch and Ryan smith?

Next year we have to endure watching Cappa, RoJo, MJ Stewart lack of development and progression on the field?

Not only cant Gump draft good players but he forces coaches to play these busts

    How can we win?”

    Kobe Faker

  8. StoutGospel Says:

Fwiw…again. It’s CJ Mosley, not Mosely. Like Mathieu only had one T. When it’s players names, and in titles of columns, read by national columnists or other folks maybe looking at JBF for soucing stories, like PFT perhaps, it ain’t a good look for the site, it’s legitimacy and/or credibility. A simple Google search spells out every player’s name correctly before the article is finalized.

    Fwiw….

  9. tmaxcon Says:

Very few keepers and even less winners on bucs roster. No one confuses popularity and mediocrity with greatness more than ignorant low standard bucfan

  10. ManzielMadness Says:

Would fully endorse this. Love Kwon but not for 12 mil a year. CJ can hold up against the pass better and probably doesn’t miss on his gap assignments as often.

  11. Razor Ramone Says:

Bring in a bad azz like Hardy Nickerson. He changed everything.

  12. Bird Says:

    Hodad

Are you hitting the herb this morning. Dude. Cmon.

Yah Lavonte sucks. He is in the record books in a few categories . He has been only one of very few bright spots on defense for the last couple of years.

  13. Loyaltotheend Says:

12 million for Kwon? That’s hilarious and he obviously is blind to see how bad this d was that he led

  14. AlteredEgo Says:

Why am I imagining the last game 2019 if this ship does not turn around…the GBoy’z doing to Licht what USC did to Lane Kiffin ….

  15. OneBucPerson Says:

Give me Mosley in a heartbeat over Kwon.

  16. Pryda..sec147 Says:

I’ll just sit back and enjoy the off-season last year sucked ass 🙁 we always seem to win the offseason so I’m expecting an active fun filled next few months

  17. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Love me some C.J. Mosley. Surprised to hear the Ravens might let him go. He’s the heart of that defense. I like Kwon but C.J. would absolutely be an upgrade.

  18. tmaxcon Says:

    Burd

Lvd has not played a complete season since schiano… since schiano left loser lvd has had flashes but not a complete season couple that with his self admitted mental weakness let him walk… career loser nothing more… he like cancer93 and Dotson are senior members of the losing culture period….

  19. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

Beastly Ravens inside linebacker C.J. Mosely, 26, is likely to hit the free agent market…

We need some size at linebacker, and this would be a nice start.

  20. Ndog Says:

I believe Kwon is a bit overrated but to say the D played better without him is very misleading as his injury timed up when exactly Mike Smith was fired so of course the D improved, everything about it was improved INCLUDING Kwon as he was awesome in the first half of that Browns game. These are the kind of BS statements that piss me off just like the garbage about DJax being awesome with Fitz. Well if that is so then what happened in the rest of the games Fitz started when teams had tape of the first 2 weeks? Why is it so hard to just tell the story as it is instead of leaving context and truth on the side to make a point the writer clearly wants others to believe?

  21. Not there yet Says:

12mil? Kwon you didn’t play like that so I’m guessing he’s also going to price himself out of a contract here. Let him test the market because no one is going to offer that much

  22. Cobraboy Says:

One way to recoup Glazer cash is to sign Alexander for what he’s worth, and sell him for what he *thinks* he’s worth.

I am no Alexander fan. He plays out of control, takes bad angles and consistently whiffs on tackles.

Coming off ACL surgery, I’d be shocked if he gets half of what David earns.

Dude was mediocre on a bad defense, and look-at-me chest-thumping does not impress a knowledgeable fan.

IF Alexander is re-signed, do it as an OLB, a SAM, and put Beckwith—who is also an unknown with his physical issues—in the middle.

There are better LB’s out there than Alexander.

  23. macabee Says:

Trade down. Take ILB Devin White/LSU being lauded as the next Patrick Willis. One more option to save the cap space.

  24. teacherman777 Says:

This decision completely depends on the heLth of Beckwith.

He is a better MLB but is he healthy?

  25. Buccernutter Says:

Honestly Joe I didn’t think you would fall into the category of fans that would suggest the defense got better without him. Lost some respect with that comment to be honest. You don’t seem to recognize the game he went out was the first one under duffner. Not to mention he was balling in that game. He got injured in that game, against what was then a bad offense. One game is just one game. –Joe

Also people vying for free agents like u with Mosely need to realize that many other teams will be doing the same. We haven’t necessarily been a key destination although that could change under arians.

Kwon deserves to get paid and I sure hope he stays with us. No matter what Joe says. Disgusted by this article.

  26. Frank Pillow Says:

Devin White/LSU is the monster we need on this D…but there’s no question Mosley is an upgrade over our two injured LBs and would make a nice fit for Bowles.

  27. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Kwon won’t make $10m per year BECAUSE of the injury. More likely 7-8m

  28. Kobe Faker Says:

“We are in salary cap hell and dont have no money to pay cj mosley 13 per year x 5 years

The quickest way to improve our defense immediately is get bowles Devin White

Release the matador kwon. Best he start somewhere else. Im sure he has bad blood with tampa and gump from his untimely injury.

Bechwidth probably cant even run with the smashed ankle…put him on the practice squad…

So many holes and we have no money and draft picks to fill them with…

    Ooohh Forrest”

    Kobe Faker

  29. Kobe Faker Says:

    “7-8 mill for Kwon?

Yikes. He will be lucky to get 3 mill from any other team.

    Great elite linebackers are few…but

    Competent linebackers are everywhere”

    Kobe Faker

  30. tmaxcon Says:

    Bucnutter

That’s your entire problem pal…. NO ONE DESERVES ANYTHING….. everything in life must be earned…. all kwon earned was being a key member of some of the worsr defensive units in NFL HISTORY

  31. Kgh4life Says:

C.J. Mosely is a proven play maker, one that can solidify the middle of the Bucs defense, Bucs should definitely be all over home if he hits free agency.

  34. Cgmaster27v Says:

Alter who gives a rat’s ass about which 2 QBs are playing today? This is a linebacker article and you bring up QBs. It’s no wonder joe called you out. At least stick to what the stories are about clown.

  35. Jean Lafitte Says:

I agree with Joe on this. Put ego’s aside and make competition fair and unbiased. Give us the best players possible. That also includes stiff competition at the QB position as well but we know this won’t happen. So it seems it’s easy to point fingers but the media peddles in ego too.

  36. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Mosley way better than kwon at the mike, i think kwon would have been better at the WLB, but it doesnt matter now. Dumb licht got rid of mason foster & baron instead of keeping them and focusing on building a winning franchise

  37. TOM Says:

Kwon wasn’t worth 12mil even before the injury. Maybe 7mil. Still a risk coming off injury.

  38. diggler Says:

I think they can get him at 5 mil a year easy. If Beckwith can get healthy VERY doubtful (shattered ankle not broken SHATTERED) then you have an excellent LB corp for a 3-4. I was harping for this last year and the few times they ran it they were fire! Hope it all pans out for these guys so they can stay and be healthy. So many IFS.

  39. Couch Fan Says:

Mosely is a major upgrade over Kwon. I like Kwon but I think hes highly over rated at the MLB position. I’d take Mosely all day every day. Buc Fans and media like to over hype our own players but theres a reason our Defense has been so bad over the last few years. Our players are no where near as good as we think they are. Including GMC and Kwon.

  40. AlteredEgo Says:

again….more questions than answers ….one last swing at FA and the draft and it needs to be the best ever in Buc history to catch up with the swings and misses these past 5 years

  41. stpetebucsfan Says:

Revis is the great example..that first year after his ACL he was mediocre at best…we quickly gave up…another year his knee improved and while not his former great self he was good again.

I just do not see Kwon coming back in 2019 of a torn ACL at top play.

Remember Kwon has Rosenhaus….he will do whatever…to milk whatever he can…I realize it’s his job but sometimes he gets a little wacky. He is good though so perhap he finds ten million for Kwon somewhere…hopefully not Tampa…that just waaaay too much after an injury this serious.

Let somebody else gamble. BTW I like Kwon but we’re talkng business now.

  42. tmaxcon Says:

Beckwith better be a nonfactor in bucs planning. no way you count on him. If he is ready that’s a good problem to have but bucs better damn well not count on beckwith. Every year they gamble on often injured and mediocre players to save the day and year after year its basement title after basment title

  43. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Couch Fan, 100% you hear how great bucs players are like dsmith, or barber is, because they are fed this crap from licht or ppl in his office to justify his crappy pics and moves. Then you have the stickcarriers and their misinformed leader who shouts who bucs fans must support either right or wrong. The silent majority of bucs fans see how much a mess this organization is in

  44. firethecannons Says:

Good article–hope Licht thinks the same–time for the changes to happen, let kwon go elsewhere-the dude was not worth 12 million even 100% healthy-injury prone too now–used to miss ton of games with hamstring and now an acl-move on! Get players that stay healthy like Mosely-3 games missed in 5 seasons for a linebacker is an amazing stat.

  45. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

We’d better keep Kwon. He’s a leader on this team…a good one. Keeping DJax and getting rid of Kwon would be a mess. So far, I’m not impressed…but to be fair it is far too soon the judge.

I’m hoping the media rumors are unfounded. Arians is suppose to be smart.

I do find it ironic that the fans compliment him for loyalty to his coaches, yet they condemned Koetter for it. Not exactly ironic considering Arians reached the playoffs and had a winning record. Still, Joe blasted the O-line coach choice.–Joe

  46. Kobe Faker Says:

“Bucs fans look thru their pewter colored glasses and over value gumps drafted players

They are invested by buying their jerserys but they cant even get on the field…

Thats why Kobe sticks with his never go wrong/always in season Def Leppard concert world tour t shirt”

you should be disgusted by the on-field results for the last 16 years not disgusted over an article suggesting a basement dweller upgrade its talent.

  48. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

And, btw…C.J. Mosely will not hit the market.

  49. Tampabaybucfan Says:

12 Mil for Kwon Alexander is absurd…..his agent should be ashamed to even suggest that..as it will raise Kwon’s expectations way beyond reason. Perhaps (perhaps) $7mil with the Bucs……but probably only $5 or $6 mil in the FA market……
Kwon’s value as a leader on the team is somewhat diminished with all of the coaching changes…..you want another leader?……draft one.

  50. tmaxcon Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai Says:
    January 20th, 2019 at 11:47 am

We’d better keep Kwon. He’s a leader on this team…

keeping a leader of losers on a team that only knows how to lose makes no sense. have you ever liked a good player that actually made a difference? given the fact, sapp and selmon are the only two who matter in bucs history I would guess you liked only one of them.

  51. martinii Says:

There is something to be said about fan favorites and winning. I have been guilty of declaring Kwon, GMC, Donavan Smith, Jameis Winston, Mike Evans, Lavonte David et.al as vital components of the Buc’s. Unfortunately I have watched this same group plus many other promising additions lose on a far to regular basis over the past several years. For example last season I watched Mike Evans shread the team record books as a WR. For all Mike’s efforts we are picking #5 in the draft. I am all in when it comes to a complete revamping of the team. I just won’t buy a new Jersey for a few years.

  52. Jerseybuc Says:

Agree 100% on CJ over Kwon. Injury aside, and that is a big question mark, we need a banger at MLB. Kwon is more of a weak side LB anyway and he is constantly out of position on the field. The linebackers as a group fall for misdirection constantly. Not sure how much of that was the scheme we ran but we always seem to overrun the play and are making tackles 5 to 8 yards down the field. Would be good to land a Hard hitter who QBs need to be wary of pre snap. All we ever hear is how athletic our linebackers are. I don’t care about that I care about production on the field and this group is part of the reason our D is so awful. Let’s get a fresh set of eyes on all these guys and start finding players that can upgrade this defense.

  53. Brandon Says:

I hope Kwon gets paid. Just hope it isn’t us that’s paying him. As fast as Kwon and David are, they are both terrible in coverage.

  54. Tbbucs3 Says:

Any time you can grab a Baltimore Ravens young defensive starter, you take it.

  55. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Arians is going to put this losing roster thru a deep cleanse and start with his guys and not have lichts losing personnel hand prints on this franchise. I really think and hope this is the bucs new sam wyche and will knock it out the park in the draft and FA

  56. BuccobruceJR Says:

Are you crazy? We draft Devin white with the 5th overall pick! That’s the answer! We get our own Ray Lewis Boss!

  57. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “And when it come to the Tampa Bay defense, you better believe it’s a rebuilding job. It absolutely is.” Oh Joe, you and Ira must have some fun discussions offline. Wasn’t it Ira who penned the other day that all we need to fix the defense is to turn Todd Bowles loose, and maybe add 1 or 2 FAs and draft a rookie CB?

And I’d take CJ Moseley over Kwon at MLB every day of the year. However, I can’t see the Ravens turning him loose. Ravens have $34.6 mil in CAP space right now; Bucs have $6.9 mil CAP space right now (we’re #29 out of 32 teams right now). Sorta kinda think with that few shekels available & with all our other NEEDS, Bucs won’t be ‘opening their vault’ all that wide. Wasn’t it just 12 months ago that we had some ridiculous amount of CAP space at this time of year? Hmmm, sounds like still more GM mismanagement to me. Obviously our wallet is a LOT Licht-er.

  58. ben Says:

Licht ‘s record…worst gm!!!… so not a lot of hope

  59. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

When you look at the defensive talent going to FA , it will be on LICHT brain if the Bucs do not fill some holes on D. CJ is great , but so is DeMarcus Lawrence , Trey Flowers , and Dee Ford. The price will be steep , around 16-18 mil per for any of those four. That is why parting ways with Djax and Gmc is imperative. BA should demand that Licht bring in one of the aforementioned , or just freaking RESIGN. Buccos have an above average coaching staff and deserve a real GM , which Licht brain is not.

  60. JimmyJack Says:

Sure man get Mosley and let Kwon walk. It sounds great but it may not be realistic.

I agree that these defense is a rebuild project but I think it’s a awful assumption that they may not consider Mosley because Kwon was a draft pick or because he is a fan favorite. Not sure where that thought gets concocted from.

  61. JimmyJack Says:

And to be honest the Bucs may decide to save some money and/or length of contract by keeping Kwon over signing a guy like Mosley(guessing Mosley gets a much richer deal) . Then they used saved money to sign a CB like Peterson. Then they could draft a future LB.

Even if they sign Kwon over Mosley it may have nothing to do with him being a fan favorite or a home grown player. It’s silly to not see it from all angles.

  62. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

Whatever we do, we need to add D.White Linebacker from LSU to our squad. Give DC Todd Bowles a couple of new toys to play with (Alexander, David and White). Go Bucs.

  63. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This pending cap problem is when you find out if your drafts have worked well for you…….especially rounds 3-5…..unfortunately for us our round 2 picks have been a disaster.
We should be getting good production from Ryan Smith, Beckwith, Cappa, Whitehead, Benenoch……and others in their rookie contracts…..
When you miss with Aguayo, Spence, Rojo and perhaps D. Smith in the second round…you are asking for trouble.
We might be adding MJ Stewart to that list.

  64. George Says:

Joe, you got to remember Kwon got hurt the same time Dufner took over for fired Mike Smith. The D would of been better if Dufner had a healthy Kwonp

  65. tmaxcon Says:

    Tampabaybucfan Says:

the only pending cap problem is in your mind…..

    FEAR LOSING NOT THE CAP!

  66. Ateonetree Says:

I would rather pay a proven pass rusher like dee Ford or Clowney and draft Devon white out of LSU

  67. catcard202 Says:

Bucs LB Corp is going to under go some changes…Bowles needs multiple pcs to make his system work. Kwon fits what the new staff wants to do…So, it’ll be a question of $$/yrs vs risk coming off a knee injury in Nov.

It’s strictly a business decision at this point…But I expect Kwon to be back, since BA isn’t in this to rebuild w/ rookies.

  68. Christopher Schiefen Says:

Jason brought in losers. He was kept because he could bring in a finicky/on-the-fence winner (Arians). But Jason doesn’t get to triumph draft hits when these people are the captains of losing teams. Clean up, move on.

  69. Jeff Says:

Spot on suggestion. Would do it in a second. Kwon was still a good pick. Pre injury would have taken him back for 10mm.

  70. infabucs Says:

Sign Suggs to 2 year deal draft white and let kwon walk.

  71. JimmyJack Says:

There is a good chance Kwon is gone no matter what because of a new defense.

Todd Bowles may have very little need for these Tampa 2 players like Gerald, Kwon, & Grimes(who is gone reguardless due to sucking ass).

You can almost throw JPP into that conversation but that’s a bad idea IMO. He brings too many intangables to the table that are hard to replace. Need to find a way to make it work with JPP

  72. Jonathan Lipnicki Says:

Thank God BB ain’t negotiating Kwon’s potential deal @ “7-8 mil/per”. Coming off an ACL injury gives the Bucs all the leverage in this situation for better or worse.

  73. Pickgrin Says:

No, he’s not among the best at his position – and yes he’s got a # of areas in his game that need improvement.

That said – Kwon Alexander is a GOOD football player. And perhaps just as importantly – his passion for the game and his positive influence on the players around him makes Kwon a valuable part of this defense.

4-3/ 3-4, inside, outside. It matters not. Line Kwon up and he will make plays on the football field every Sunday. A bunch of them.

It all comes down to money of course – and the Bucs may have no choice but to let Kwon test the market if oily Drew Rosenhaus (makes me laugh every time Joe) has convinced Kwon that he is worth $10M+ per coming back from a major injury in late Oct.

It would be wise for the Bucs to keep LVD, Kwon and Beckwith together as a group if that is fiscally possible. We shall see. But I believe strongly in all 3 of those players ability to shine brightly in the right system. I also believe that both Kwon and Beckwith will be back to full health and full strength at the beginning of the 2019 season.

This one’s a tough call on Jason’s part. If Kwon and his agent are not willing to negotiate in the $7-$8M per year range on a multi year offer – then Licht probably has no choice but to let him test free agency and either some team overpays – or the market shows Kwon that oily Drew was overselling him and he comes back and signs a fair deal with the Bucs who do want him back at a fair price.

  74. BringBucsBack Says:

If you can improve at any position you do it…except QB.

  75. MadMax Says:

Yep, ive been singing Devin Whites praise for a while now. We need him. Trade back from 5 to around 8-10 and get him. That guy will bolster the middle and give us pass rush too!!! Have you seen him shoot gaps? Dude has a 2nd gear like no other for his size.

Thats my pick for the 1st round! Williams will be gone by #5.

  76. Rod Hill Says:

    You sound dumb!!!

  77. WalkdaPlank Says:

I’d like to see Kwon stay, but if the asking price is high for a guy that can’t stay healthy….

  78. TDTB Says:

Kalhil Hodge, ILB Buffalo round 3. Let Kwon go.

  79. NoTalentonDefense Says:

Everyone talks about Koetter being bad at his job, true, he was, but what about Licht? How come he has not been held accountable for some truly awful draft picks and free agent pick ups?

  80. rrsrq Says:

I can pretty much guarantee and I have no sources or references, but Ravens are not letting Mosley get out of there, they have always had good front office, what players have they let go in their prime. Oh yeah, Jensen, he was a steal for us

  81. Defense Rules Says:

@George … “you got to remember Kwon got hurt the same time Dufner took over for fired Mike Smith. The D would of been better if Dufner had a healthy Kwon.”

The defense improved AFTER Duffner took over (and ran Smitty’s defense for the most part) and AFTER Kwon got hurt (the two coincided). How do you know then that losing Kwon (and inserting mostly Taylor at MLB in his place) didn’t help the defense and make it better? Adarius didn’t do fantastic, but he did get 60 tackles and 10 games started. Maybe he played more ‘within the system’ than Kwon would have. No way to know at this point. But in any event, Bucs NEED a better (and bigger) MLB than what we had in Kwon. Very vocal (which is good) but his play at MLB left a LOT to be desired IMO. That said however, I do believe Kwon would’ve been MUCH better at his natural, outside LB position.

  82. SammyRebel Says:

Doubt it will happen, C.J. is too good of a player for Baltimore to let go, I’ve already thought of C.J. weeks ago, he and the ravens are already talking contract right now, he’ll likely be franchised as Joe Flacco will be set free with his big contract

  83. doolnutts Says:

Our defense has sucked for what 10 years now? At this point, I don’t think anyone is a must have. We have sucked with all our “buidling blocks”/”greats”. At this point, I am open to just about anything to try and fix this thing.

  84. Mike Evans Goat Says:

If we want a LBer we might as well take Devon White from LSU. He is being touted as the next Ray Lewis

  85. LUVMYBUCS Says:

If CJ Mosley is our next Hardy Nickerson, I’m all for it. That said, I wonder if our $$$ should go to other areas of the team. I’m hopeful Kendell Beckwith will come back and play an inside spot.
    Areas of $$$, IMHO:
Franchise Donovan Smith, see if new coaching gets better results.
Resign Adam Humphries, unless he wants over $ 7 mil. If that’s the case, Justin Watson is my new slot receiver.
Sign RT/LT Trent Brown (the backup plan if D. Smith doesn’t work out).
Sign CB Ronald Darby, if his knee checks out AND if he wouldn’t be a bad influence on Jameis.
    Sign Kareem Hunt.
Draft Picks: 1st, A defensive difference maker, one of Nick Bosa, Q. Williams, Josh Allen, Devin White, or Rashan Gary.
2nd: O-Lineman to play RG but can also play RT (see D. Smith backup plan).
3rd: Front seven defensive player, depending on if we take Devin White in the 1st.
    4th: O-Lineman.
5th: CB who would fit our system (such as Michael Jackson Sr., if he’s still around).
    7th: QB prospect.

  89. DB55 Says:

Joe would love to see the Bucs all over Mosely in a hurry.

Like white on rice joe but we don’t have a chance at him. If Teflon Keon worth 12 C.J. worth 36mil.

Btw Aloha from Honolulu, I now understand why the pro bowl used to be such a big deal.

  90. The Real Drew Says:

Devin White in the 1st round would be a major upgrade

  91. adam from ny Says:

fuggin’ sign cj mosley…he is bad azz…just what we need…he’s a standout in that tough ravens defense…if you can steal him away, do it…do it

  92. adam from ny Says:

bring kwon back for like 6-8 milly…if not we can always get someone to dye their hair red and boogie with mccoy on the sidelines…no problemo

  93. adam from ny Says:

thats kinda messed up that duff was left blowin’ in the wind with the regime change…he did a good job

  94. adam from ny Says:

beckwith, mosley and lavonte sounds pretty good to me on paper duke

  95. MadMax Says:

I hate to say it, but it looks like Kwon got lazy after his 2016 season….really awful production this year….sorry, but time to cut him.

Draft Devin White!!! True MLB material!!

  96. Buccernutter Says:

Haven’t had the opportunity to respond cuz I do things off the internet on the weekend like tmax should be doing but you responded to me saying it was one game. Not sure if u realize it but that doesn’t help your argument. It was only one game. So you can insinuate the defense got better without Kwon under Duff but he only played the one game? So it’s not enough of a sample size to suggest the defense was better but kwon playing better wasn’t enough? Lol.

Let me get this clear on more time. The defense improved with Kwon out but we’re going to ignore a change at DC. But when I say well Kwon improved under Duff in the one game but that’s not enough of a sample size? Especially cuz it was a bad offense? LMAO

The defense improved cuz the lack of Smitty. Not the lack of Kwon. And to suggest Kwon wouldn’t have improved with the rest of the unit is laughable. Again this article is ridiculous. Just like half this fan base. Not trying to be ride but your logic is all jacked up here.
