Fans Have 2019 Home Game Taken Away
December 12th, 2018The beatdown of Bucs fans continues.
The NFL announced this morning the Bucs will have a home game ripped away from them so the Bucs and an unannounced team can play internationally. No word on what country yet.
The opponent will be announced this coming spring.
Joe absolutely hates this. Fans simply cannot wait for football season and Bucs fans cherish the eight games a year they get to spend with family and friends at a Bucs game.
Joe doesn’t give a sh!t about growing the game. This is the equivalent of spitting in Bucs fans’ faces. This is just wrong on so many levels.
This is yet another kick in the nuts for Bucs fans. Like an 11th year of no playoffs. Next thing you know the Bucs will cut America’ Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.
What horrible news.
Merry Christmas!
December 12th, 2018 at 12:35 pm
The best thing about that picture is that the sad Bucs fan is drinking the worst brand of beer ever.
Very fitting Joe.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:35 pm
Nest up – 5 year extension for Dirk Koetter.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:36 pm
Maybe the Glazers will throw joe and the sheep a bone and get them all excited for next year!!!!!!! Maybe they will sign up the team for Hard Knocks again, that seem to get them all excited for the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 12th, 2018 at 12:37 pm

Does this have to do with hosting the Superbowl?

Joe is a proud Bud Light man. Beer of the people! Joe is no snob.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:43 pm
Joe
All 500 fans that go to Bucs games will get over it
December 12th, 2018 at 12:44 pm
Some of us might be giving up our 1976 season ticket accounts, so go play wherever they want.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:44 pm
@doosh – and with the most obnoxious ad campaign currently going. dilly dilly
December 12th, 2018 at 12:45 pm
sucks for tampa joe but i am from toronto and live in NYC. i will be going to this game to support them!!!
December 12th, 2018 at 12:48 pm
Perhaps the G’Boyz volunteered… probably been costing them to put home games on @ the RayJay than they took in….What are the options other than London and Mexico City?
December 12th, 2018 at 12:51 pm
Speaking for Pablo
“Hey Hoes…..Pablo thinks if they have the game in Mehico……you could call it the “cubil de depresion”. Pablo thinks Haboo would like him sum Cahita.”

December 12th, 2018 at 12:52 pm
Geez, Joe, do you own stock in Raymond James Stadium? For the VAST majority of fans (I’m talking like > 90%), all this means is that the game MIGHT start a little earlier/later than usual ONE time. This just ain’t that critical.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:56 pm
^^ No offense, RyJo, but you are DEFINITELY not speaking for a majority of the fans with your comments.
Whether we are able to go to a particular game or not, it definitely means something to have the game here at HOME in Tampa Bay.
It’s a home game, of course it fricking means something, whether you are able to attend or not.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:56 pm
People just… stop.
A lot of teams host international games.
Both the Rams and Chargers – two winning teams are hosting games next year.
the Rams sell out every game.
It is not a punishment.
Part of the Buc problem is the sad sack woe is me mentality of the town and the local writers who cover the team – that weak pessimism spreads and affects everything around it.
Grow a pair and sack up and quit whining.
Then -maybe Tampa will get taken seriously
December 12th, 2018 at 12:56 pm
The Bucs have played in London a lot… I don’t think they were ever the away team.
December 12th, 2018 at 12:57 pm
Let’s just hope it’s a September / early October game.
Between the heat and the rain delays those games are miserable for fans to attend.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:03 pm
The NFL’s whipping boy! And the Glazers’ bastard since we all know Man U is their real franchise.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:05 pm
drink a man’s beer joe!!!!!!!….yuengling!!!!!!!!!
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!…GO BUCS!!!
December 12th, 2018 at 1:06 pm
Joe,
I am not a beer snob in the least.
PBR is fine by me.
I have heard this on several occasions, usually by a female when asked why they like Bud Light so much and the answer is……..
“Because it doesn’t taste like beer”
Need I say more?
December 12th, 2018 at 1:08 pm
Hate wasting my Sundays anyway.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:09 pm
If they held a cultural exchange with the host country, Mexico, as an example. The Bucs go to Mexico City and play and Mexico sends their best bulls and Matadors… the joint would sell out and the controversy on Monday morning would be less. The G’Boyz would make a killing! That weekend both in Mexico and Tampa.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:10 pm
Bucs have sacrificed a home game every time we’ve played overseas.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:12 pm
Bucs not paying Winston 20 million is a Christmas gift Captain Joe!
December 12th, 2018 at 1:13 pm
The team gave away tickets and still could barely get the stadium half full. Why would anyone expect us not to give up a home game? You all talk about playing at home like it’s a big deal, it’s practically an away game half the time anyway with all the visiting fans buying up the tickets. It’s only a big deal for the 20,000 or so true season ticket holders that show up to every game. I guess we’ll all be saving a little money for season tickets next year unless the team decides to gouge us again for a lousy product, flat beer, and bad food.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:17 pm
The real screwing comes to season ticket holders.
We will now have 7 home games and 2 preseason games. So now you are paying a higher percentage of your hard earned money for meaningless games. The Buc’s will say were “saving you money”. I am prepaid for next year, I wonder if this gives me an out. Have to read fine print. They make it harder and harder to justify season tickets. This is coming from a season ticket holder of 39 years.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:17 pm
No Joe…the current uni’s are the kick to the nuts…along with the high expectations and less than stellar result of another Buc season…
This organization is all about $$$$, the product sucks, the packaging sucks and the ownership sucks!
Hey, there is always the Lightning to raise our spirits!
December 12th, 2018 at 1:19 pm
Fans don’t even come out to the games anyways. Every game feels like a home game for the opponent.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:19 pm
I can deal with JW getting paid his 20 mil as long as they sign Hump to a new contract & by all means don’t give lazy ass D Smith no 12 mil or anything close. Does anyone know why Wester, Cappa & Liedke aren’t starting. They can’t be any worse than whats starting now. Can they?
December 12th, 2018 at 1:23 pm
I will cheer for you ! Europe Bucs fan

December 12th, 2018 at 1:28 pm
I just called my rep Jason Grimm and REALLY gave hime a chew out!!!!! I know it’s not his fault but after 20 years PLUS of being a season ticket holder I am absolutely OVER getting F….ing hosed!!
December 12th, 2018 at 1:29 pm
A scam by the owners. Just like full price for preseason.
And all we get are incompetent boob coaches.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:30 pm
Hopefully they’ll be shipped to Outer Mongolia for a game against the Jags which will start at 2am. Nobody goes to the games anyway, so who cares?
December 12th, 2018 at 1:32 pm
I’m sorry, but they’ve been rotten for so long, I don’t mind getting a discount on season tickets this year. Just as long as this game is sometime early in the season and we dodge a 105° September home game.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:32 pm
Stop buying season tix. The Glazers are garbage. Treat them as such.

Karl Says:
“The real screwing comes to season ticket holders.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Definitely agree with ya man, and feel that when this happens you should be credited back the difference of 1 less regular season game.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:37 pm
15-20 years ago having one less home game would have mattered. not now. Bucs are not as important anymore. Not until there is a 1997 like turnaround.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:37 pm
season tkts will be one game cheaper . YEA !!!
December 12th, 2018 at 1:40 pm
why do the ybor city bucs keep getting reamed out?…why?
December 12th, 2018 at 1:44 pm
Less agony for the hometown fans.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:46 pm
F*ck London! …what bullsh*t…I thought the Glazers were done going there? I guess now they probably want to move the team there. Bucs Life gets worse 🙁
December 12th, 2018 at 1:47 pm
RELEVANCE
December 12th, 2018 at 1:52 pm
You know the Glazers agreed to this, right? And you know it’s because attendance is awful, right? Fans will miss the Bucs in Tampa far less than any other franchise would miss their team.
December 12th, 2018 at 1:52 pm
Hey Glazers and the NFL at least buy us true fans who actually BUY season tickets dinner and drinks before you try to F… Us!!!!
December 12th, 2018 at 2:03 pm
This is bad news to the opposing teams fans that now must travel to another country instead of filling up a half empty tampa stadium.
December 12th, 2018 at 2:04 pm
Please put up a new topic, Joe.
It’s depressing how lowly of us as a Team & Fan Base that the fans actually feel.
December 12th, 2018 at 2:05 pm
It’s like…. damn sh*t is depressing enough this season without reading all of this cr@p from our own fans.
December 12th, 2018 at 2:15 pm
I get the frustration of fans that don’t get to see 8 regular season games next year. Don’t think too many fans were aware of the requirement to give up a home game if hosting a Super Bowl (I remember pointing this out to Joe on twitter at the time the Bucs were named as host).
A couple of things to be aware of:-
1) The Bucs are allowed to “protect” one of their eight home games so that it gets played in Tampa. Will be interesting to see if they take up that option.
2)The Panthers haven’t been over to London so don’t be surprised if that is the game.
From a selfish point of view I hope it is London.
December 12th, 2018 at 2:20 pm
How about they play those two meaningless, boring overpriced pre-season games
overseas. I wonder how much they will raise ticket prices again. If we have one less home game and they keep the price the same , they will have, in effect raised the price by over 11%.. Season ticket holder since 1976…..smh.
December 12th, 2018 at 2:31 pm
OUCH!
December 12th, 2018 at 3:05 pm
I hate this too.
Unless somehow they play in TJ, cuz then I could just drive down!
(Assuming we haven’t permanently closed our borders by then…)
December 12th, 2018 at 3:08 pm
“Reek” Havoc!
December 12th, 2018 at 3:10 pm
Look in the stands… this is not a spit in the face. No one is going to the games. I don’t like it, but c’mon the organization can’t give away tickets and have a crowd.
December 12th, 2018 at 3:19 pm
I’ve watched the Bucs religiously, as in nearly every game, since 1987 when I was getting old enough to do so (well watched or listened since half the games each year where blacked out for many many many years since the Bucs rarely sold out).
I don’t have an issue with this- and you can look at the stands and see people don’t have a problem with this. Issue is, unless you’re actively winning, I don’t want to pay over $600 for two tickets and parking to watch the Bucs play in person. While I’m a fancy man that will only get club seats, even if I was a peasant sitting way up top you’re still paying $200 or more for two garbage seats and parking. That’s just too expensive to watch a team that has no chance of making the playoffs. NFL games just cost too much money in more. Adjust for inflation, do whatever you want, games are dramatically more expensive now than they were in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s. I got a pair of club seats for the 1999 season Washington Redskins at Tampa playoff game and it was like $250 total – for two seats and included parking, for a playoff game! Now adjusted for inflation (let’s say $330) I can’t get that same deal to see the Cleveland Browns play in a meaningless regular season game. The prices are insane and honestly I’m surprised as many people buy tickets as they do now.
December 12th, 2018 at 2:05 pm
It’s like…. damn sh*t is depressing enough this season without reading all of this cr@p from our own fans.
so what are fans of a team that has not won a meaningful game in 16 years supposed to do…. Hide in a safe space and pretend that everything is perfect????? Reality is truly a beotich and is most feared by weak delusional optimists
December 12th, 2018 at 3:39 pm
Let’s be honest, only about 5000 Bucs fans actually seem to attend the home games in their current state. Most weeks the visiting team had a larger more vocal fanbase at these games depending on the opponent. Now, I don’t blame fans for not filling the stands these days, but it’s just the current state of this team. I’m actually surprised they don’t ask the Bucs to play more international games.
December 12th, 2018 at 3:53 pm
Why is it every single time we play an international game WE’RE the ones who lost a home game? Why can’t it ever be our opponent who loses it? This is BS.
December 12th, 2018 at 3:57 pm
@tmaxcon, never said anything was “perfect”, man, and I am not delusional. — Just said it was depressing.
December 12th, 2018 at 4:51 pm
it starts at the top all they want is money and all we want is to watch a winning team
December 12th, 2018 at 4:58 pm
The NFL needs to hurry up and get the Jags relocated to London. Then this isn’t an issue. But is losing a home game really that bad? They have no real home field advantage, unless you count the oppressive heat and humidity.
December 12th, 2018 at 5:01 pm
We’re so sorry Europe.
December 12th, 2018 at 5:12 pm
If Dirk is still here take all 8 games.
December 12th, 2018 at 5:25 pm
Amen Joe
F getting the NFL in London or Europe period ..unfortunately it’s coming and it’s Shaka Kanns JAGS OFF to London that will trigger chaos and civil
Unrest ..let’s stick to hating thier Lil kickball ganes abd they don’t need our NFL
Warm beer ,nasty teeth (GREAT CLASSIC ROCK) and warm shi**y beer
Not that I needed another reason to dislike you, but you delivered anyway.
So you’re a “Fancy Man” huh?
December 12th, 2018 at 6:55 pm
I’m sure Jamoist will enjoy London. Lots of white women to tape. And we can suck on 2 different continents. Win-win! It’s a Bucs life.
December 12th, 2018 at 7:09 pm
Dooshlarue – Indeed I’m a fancy man, it’s what happens when you’re successful and not a welfare slob. Anywho, let me guess, the reason you don’t go to games is that they won’t let you buy tickets with an EBT card, right? LOL!
December 12th, 2018 at 7:32 pm
Agree with Joe, this just flat out sucks. New World Order effing BS.
December 12th, 2018 at 7:43 pm
The League wants several games a year out of this country.So much for apple pie and chevrolet.Yes the stadium was about 40 % full last week.REPLACE THE COACHES AND THE GM or the stadium may become an echo chamber next year!
December 12th, 2018 at 10:36 pm
What do you expect when the franchise is giving away tickets games? It won’t matter at all to most all of the fans that watch Bucs games since they will be sitting on the couch same as always.
December 12th, 2018 at 10:51 pm
I feel like I’m one of the most passionate bucs fans out there if not the most out there. Season ticket holder (father as well) since ’92. The fans not showing up week in and out and when they do show up, not cheering is PATHETIC. Keep this up all of Tampa and bucs fans and we might be without a team here one day and you all might then realize how special it is to have the buccaneers here playing for us in Tampa. JPP and numerous bucs players talk about how they fed off our (the fans) showing up and cheering and I stand up and cheer my soul out every game. And I sit in the 3rd row behind the bucs bench and not only talk to bucs players (JPP acknowledges me every week) to pump them up but call out bucs fans for their sorry ass support… It’s so sad Steve, Lee, commish and Sage… Can’t believe it
December 12th, 2018 at 11:44 pm
Vinny:
Joe is not calling out fans in any way. NFL tickets are not cheap. And the Bucs (aside from new replay boards) have not given Bucs fans any reason to come to games the past decade.
Joe is in no position to tell people how to spend their cash.
December 13th, 2018 at 2:56 am
No joes’ that’s not what I was trying to say…
I was trying to call out bucs fans. The energy is dead out there and just saying something needs to happen both team wise and fan wise to being back that energy in Tampa. I was just saying week in and week out JPP says how no
Dams show up and they need us…
Not saying you guys at all..
Love my Joes’
December 13th, 2018 at 8:28 am
Will anyone notice that there is not a game because the stands are empty.
The Glazers needed to salvage the loss of attendance.
December 13th, 2018 at 11:18 am
NFL is all about growing revenues and marketing.
Attendance is down throughout the NFL, not just Tampa.
What would appeal to Buc fans is allowing liquor to be served in stands and having food options that match the club seat food options
December 13th, 2018 at 5:08 pm
people in Tampa will always complain for example,”tickets are too much” face ticket value is cheaper that 85% of all other NFL teams. “come on we lost another home game” last i checked i could buy tickets to any game the bucs played this year. actually the team gave tickets to the last game for free! give me a break Tampa! let’s see how you feel when all the state has but the dolphins to get behind. owners have already showed you they will move and so will the bucs and jags!
