“Deflate”
December 11th, 2018Yeah, deflation generally isn’t a good thing. And for the Bucs Sunday, that was caused by the pathetic special teams.
Missing two field goals? Nah, folks are these parts are used to this sick feature of the Bucs. It’s been happening for five years now.
However, John Breech of CBS Sports believes the Bucs having a punt blocked — by a third-string quarterback (who the hell plays a backup quarterback on special teams?) — left the Bucs flat.
The Buccaneers might have been able to pull off the upset in this game if their special teams didn’t decide to take the day off. Not only did kicker Cairo Santos miss two field goals (46, 40), but the Bucs also had a punt blocked in the third quarter that basically let New Orleans back in the game. Having a punt blocked seemed to deflate the Buccaneers because they only totaled 33 yards on their final four offensive possessions combined.
Now that stat was new to Joe. When your final four possessions only net 33 yards, one really must go back to the whiteboard and figure out what went wrong on the gameplan.
Yeah, the Saints played good defense, but with all the talent in the passing game, to only get 33 yards on four possessions, something is wrong.
Did the offensive line collapse that badly?

Yea. The OL looked horrendous. Worst game of the year for them. Good thing Warhop won’t survive the purge either. They need a new voice. Esp if they keep Smith.

The “real” deflation actually happened when jw3 was investigated, exposed and then suspended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watching this team is deflating. My bourbon consumption increases exponentially during football season, and not in a celebratory manner!

Mentally weak team.

“Looks like Payton used cover 2 and man underneath to blanket the recievers in the 2nd half to shut down offensive guru Klueless
Without OJ skillset to beat that coverage, JW had no options all 2nd half”
“Kobe Faker has officically endorsed Indy assistant GM Ed Dodds as 2019 newly hired GM of the Tampa Bay Bucs”
Kobe Faker

JR Sweezy was paid millions but was a bust for the Bucs. Now he is a starting guard for the Seahawks. Bradley McDougal was let go by the Bucs and he too is starting for the Seahawks. The Seahawks are leading for a wild card birth in the playoffs. Why is that players leave the Bucs and become starters somewhere else? Seems like there is something wrong with this picture.

Three more games with this Potato farmer as the HC and doofy Jason Gump as the GM! In the words of the people in France on Bastille day…. OFF with their heads!! (Not literally Joe!)

Where were the WR screens to Hump?…….I hate to say it, but we probably missed Djax’ presence…..Even with a bum thumb (perhaps) we could have put him out as a decoy….drawing attention away from our other receivers.

For a few games I actually thought Santos was the answer at PK , but then it struck again , THE CURSE OF CONNOR BARTH. The Buccos released the most accurate FG and PAT kicker in Buc history to sign an unproven Roberto Aguayo in the 2nd round , yes you read that right , the FREAKING 2nd Round. Did I forget to mention that Connor Barth also made 25 FG’s in a row and holds the Bucco record in that category as well.
Bring Barth back to the Den of Depression and let him kick for the final home game and get that curse lifted. Maybe you could convince him to actually play for your sorry arses again , and you could just correct your mistake that initiated the CURSE OF CONNOR BARTH.

It was plain to see that the problem in the 2nd half of that debacle was the lack of adjustment to the changes that the Saints made on defense. Bucs were miserably outcoached in the 2nd half. Fire Licht and Koetter.
December 11th, 2018 at 8:06 am
Koetter collapse
December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 am
With no threat of a run game they just dropped back in coverage. No screens either. i hate to say it but I miss Chuck Sims in the passing game.
December 11th, 2018 at 8:12 am
Players were playing good until they realized
“Oh wait, if we win Dirk Koetter might keep his job”
December 11th, 2018 at 8:19 am
OUTCOACHED! …simple as that…
December 11th, 2018 at 8:38 am
once that second missed field goal occurred, i knew it beat the team down…by the time the blocked punt happened i was already zoning, just like half the bucs team and staff…yes the blocked punt was the end of the end…but the 2nd missed field goal took the cake…the blocked punt was the icing…

poached and out coached

The O line produced more penalty yards then rushing yards. Black Monday can’t get here fast enough.
December 11th, 2018 at 9:01 am
this is a staple in dirks team…..being mentally weak….
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!…GO BUCS!!!!
December 11th, 2018 at 9:01 am
After the punt block the defense gave up 4 straight scores. Wasn’t just the offense.
December 11th, 2018 at 9:03 am
@realist
the “real” deflation actually happened when JW3 ignored dirk and won the saints game last year….4-12 wouldve sent dirk packing…instead he returned to guide us to 5-11 again…..
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

The offensive line? Yeah, they had trouble. What about that dude standing behind them over throwing receivers and holding the ball for “10 alligator” counts? Joe forgets the Field General LOL.
December 11th, 2018 at 9:55 am
@ TBBF
I am glad somebody else see what I have been saying, when you take DJax away or any of the weapons (this game you had no DJax and no OJ), who scares a good saints defense if they take ME away. You say OK Chris Godwin and Hump, you beat us and it did not happen. That is why all the trade Djax talk was stupid. One injury and your receiving corp is average
December 11th, 2018 at 9:59 am
@Joe … “Did the offensive line collapse that badly?” Do you really need to ask Joe?
December 11th, 2018 at 10:01 am
TBBF & rrsrq,,
You guys well could be right on DJax presence maybe being missed on Sunday, as far as opening the field up a bit for everyone else. I would say OJ Howard is missed badly too, for the same reason.
December 11th, 2018 at 10:17 am
All the talent in the passing game???
Uhh… those days are over.
No Djax to stretch the field
No Howard to make two TE sets a major advantage
Now the Bucs are simply decent and have no burners on the field to keep the safeties honest. Howard stretched the seams while Djax stretched the outside. Now almost all of Evans and Godwins catches are extremely contested. Brats fkrsnt have the speed to challenge safeties between the 20s.
I’m extremely surprised zero of the local writers are picking up on the big change in offensive output since OJ and Djax went down.
