“Violent” Vea
December 2nd, 2018After doing his best Ryan Sims impression for several weeks, rookie manbeast defensive tackle Vita Vea made the NFL take notice last Sunday.
The No.-12 overall pick was harassing the quarterback, making tackles in the backfield and flashing the unique athleticism and strength in his 6-4, 340-pound frame.
His many critics applauded, including several ex-Buccaneers.
Yeah, it was a hot topic all last week. But late Friday on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Dirk Koetter went deeper and explained that the “violent” nature of Vea’s game, the one seen in college, was probably the difference-maker. against the 49ers.
Former Bucs Warren Sapp, Ian Beckles and Derrick Brooks all referred to Vea as “Velcro” prior to last Sunday. It was a great and fitting nickname, but “Violent” would be much more fun and soothing to Bucs fans.
Violent Vea — Joe likes it.

I’m glad Ian has a large head with a big round face…he needs all that room for the massive amounts of egg he now has on his face.

Why not call him Vita-Man?

I like violent better too. Hope he does well.

The guy missed all of training camp and the first few games of the year with an injury…and everyone expected the rookie DT to come out of the gate guns a blazin’? Sounds about right for Bucs fan rationale.

the only one with egg on their faces are the delusional optimists like yourself that act like these young players, after 1 or 2 good weeks have arrived or a star in the making. Vea has been a bust that has shown some glimpses recently nothing more…. it takes more than a few plays or 1 or 2 wins to achieve success… you fools act like this garbage roster and organization has hope when in reality it does not. So based on history, if that bust RoJo has 30 yards or more today you will be nominating him for the ring of underachievement???

Sweet another Licht project with fruition in 2 to 3 yrs or just start over continually. The Bucs should have went after Mack like seagulls on a french fry in a parking lot. Ownership lacks football knowledge and it just rolls down hill.

LMFAO I forgot all about Ryan Sims!

He moves like the stay puff marshmallow man though. And I guess everyone missed him buckle and fall leaving a huge gap for breida to take it 34 yards downfield but hey he missed training camp and wtfdik

He had one good game, i’d still feed him cupcakes

Velcro was a great nickname? What you smokin Joe? That was a embarrassing nickname. Let’s see if Vita can continue thrashing and we can throw that nickname into the shredder.
GOO BUCS!!

His stat line today will go back to 0-0-0.

Velcro is great.
He sticks to the QB

Politics of football with this team and those who cover it. People so quick to call Vea a bust after half a season in the nfl but same guys like Sapp have never criticized Geraldine who after 10 years has only accomplished 6 pro bowls which means absolutely nothing considering he’s the leaders of a decade of worst defenses in franchise history.

It’s still Velcro Vea until he proves otherwise.
December 2nd, 2018 at 12:20 pm
yeah
calm down………..it’s only one game
Vita Velcro sticks until he consistently shows he’s not

TMaxcon-
Too soon to label Rojo a bust
Head coach, Oline coach and Rb coach are all busts

Ahhh, the stupidity of TMax is back…under his original name instead of the one he used to sneak back into the comments sections.
It amazes me how you can be right on the fringe of making sense, and then run wild and blow it.
The truth is, yes, optimists here. Nothing wrong with that. Hoping for hte best is a good thing.
And yes, there are some delusional optimists too. Such as those who thought rookie players would be instantly elite, or those who think rookies are instant failures.
And the truth is usually in the middle. Rookies ALWAYS take time to develop. Calling Vea a bust is just confirming you are an idiot. Calling Rojo a bust is doing the same thing.
It is far too soon to determine that. Just as it is too soon to say any of them will excel.
Winning is a team effort…and when you have nine rookies in starting roles throughout the season, each of them needing development, the wins will be hard to come by.
But, of course, that doesn’t matter to you.
