Jameis And The Big Play
November 26th, 2018Very interesting words today from Bucs Bit-O-Honey-snacking, Ozark-watching, yams-eating coach Dirk Koetter.
Koetter remarked in his day-after presser how Jameis was “precise” and hit on just about every pass except for a handful to DeSean Jackson. Always DeSean Jackson.
(Does anyone else find it odd that Koetter or anyone else associated with the Bucs never says Jameis threw well except when throwing to [insert a receiver’s name other than Jackson]? How is it Jameis can hit Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries and O.J. Howard and Cam Brate on long passes but struggles throwing to Jackson?)
While Koetter was throwing bouquets at Jameis — except, all together now, when throwing at Jackson — he added a sentence that perked up Joe’s ears.
Speaking of Jameis’ performance, Koetter said Jameis “didn’t wait on plays to develop that might happen. He took a sure thing.”
Has Jameis been guilty of waiting too long for splash plays, explosive plays to develop that never developed and that got him into trouble? It was a very interesting comment to Joe.
Also intriguing is that Jameis had his best game of the season despite what Koetter believes were the fewest explosive plays the Bucs have had this season.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:04 pm
If you go back and watch…most of Jameis’s completions were to stationary receivers,IMO, by design….that won’t fly long, DC see that…among many weaknesses in Jameis’s game ,hitting WR’s in stride is a huge issue
November 26th, 2018 at 4:08 pm
He needs to realize, that by playing it safe, it will open up downfield.
But, he badly needs a running game for this to work. They need to take some pressure off him so he can play. He’s got five more games to show he can be a responsible and effective quarterback.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:10 pm
Mr. Koetter JW is the only guy that can save your job.
Stop throwing him under the bus.
Put Djax on IR and name JW a team captain for Panthers game.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:13 pm
From what I have seen watching the games this season, DJax tends to short arm the ball when Jameis is throwing it. Also, Brate, Evans and Godwin seemed to have no problem catching the ball in stride when JW was throwing it. Just an observation…
November 26th, 2018 at 4:18 pm
I wanna vomit from all these love fest posts about Jameis……….. The most inaccurate and overrated staring QB in the NFL
November 26th, 2018 at 4:22 pm
“How is it Jameis can hit Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries and O.J. Howard and Cam Brate on long passes but struggles throwing to Jackson?”
LOL, I literally made this comment during the game yesterday Joe, almost word for word.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:23 pm
Jameis called his performance decisive

Most coaches when assessing their starting QB will say “on those throws to Djax id have to check the film and see the pattern called for”
But I was very pleased with his overall play.
Why the nitpicking in the press? I don’t get it.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:30 pm
So ATL wasn’t his best game? Is that bc of the 2 ints?
Initially I thought Winston played the same as always except yesterday the ball bounced his way ie the TD pass the Hump across his body or the shovel pass to Jac that fell incomplete if I recall correctly last yr that same shovel pass was a fumble and a bone-headed play.
I wonder how long it will take Koetter to realize the Bucs play better wo Djax or McIceCream or Fitz or Dotson in the lineup?
November 26th, 2018 at 4:31 pm
That is a very interesting comment. Most of Winston’s blooper reel plays come after he has been sitting in the pocket for a long time
November 26th, 2018 at 4:32 pm
When the defense shows up and you’re not trying to force plays downfield because you’re down by 21 points in the 2nd quarter this is the obvious outcome. Next week the defense won’t show up since it won’t be playing a 5th string QB with no starting WRs and the team will be down 20+ points in the 2nd quarter and Winston will be forced to throw it downfield to give the Bucs a chance and idiots will say he’s a bust because he’s trying to win the game instead of having a clean stat sheet in a 42-16 loss. That’s literally the issue here, morons think turnovers are more important than winning.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:36 pm
Rod
I think that might be the only back-up we haven’t lost to I’m at least 3-4 years
November 26th, 2018 at 4:45 pm
“Has Jameis been guilty of waiting too long for splash plays, explosive plays to develop that never developed and that got him into trouble?”
Yes. That’s also been a problem with Koetter’s offense – in terms of the long developing plays. Monken’s takeover resulted in way more quick passes. I was telling my brother during the week “Where were all these quick read passes the last few years?” Just easy quick slants open in zone coverage. Similar to what our D typically looks like.
Winston hit Evans in stride on a go route for a bomb last week.
He hits Evans in stride all the times on slant passes.
He’s hit accurately hit Godwin in stride on go routes.
He accurately and consistently hits Humphries in stride on screen plays.
He accurately and consistently hits OJ Howard or Chris Godwin or Cam Brate in stride on crossing routes whether intermediate / short or more vertical.
He accurately threads the seams to TEs in general in stride over the middle pretty consistently.
Not sure why he struggles with Djax. But it seems super obvious it’s the only player he has this problem with.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:51 pm
Rod Munch turnovers are the most game changing plays in football. Everybody knows that.
I know that some of Winston’s turnovers have been in catch-up mode and weren’t so aggregous………but that’s not the whole story because Winston has had lots of turnovers ers that have helped dig the team a 3 score hole time and time again.
He is accountable for this just like any other QB in the league.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:02 pm
Joe, if you don’t mind can you please email me a previous post (if any) with your bromance with Winston. You have QBs from the same draft that has been playing just as good as him and they weren’t the no.1 overall pick
November 26th, 2018 at 5:02 pm
Complete the DEEP PASS TO DJAX!!!!
God d#!
November 26th, 2018 at 5:06 pm
We Jamies to develop some competency and hit djax on the deep ball
November 26th, 2018 at 5:07 pm
@Rod Munch
In your scenario why are we even down by 21 points? When you know that every possession counts why would we give it back to a struggling defense to defend? Why isn’t the score at least tied? You can blame it on the defense because they gave up 21 but who do you really blame for being down by at least one? The offenses efficiency that’s what, and JW has his hand on it 99% of the time. He doesn’t have the luxury of a shut down defense but neither do a lot of the high scoring teams in the league. They have made scoring easy so the ones who score regardless of their own defenses are winning too. Do you agree we probably couldn’t get away with 5 punts to the Panthers?
November 26th, 2018 at 5:10 pm
Fellas
…………it’s a combination of Jameis NOT being accurate and DJAX not putting forth any extra effort to go/fight for the ball.
People think that just because receivers are catching the ball, it means the QB is throwing good balls……which is not always the case.
Jameis is so inconsistent with his throws……
He had many inaccurate throws yesterday and we’ve seen this the whole time since Jameis has been in Tampa…………..but unfortunately most bucs fans do not know how to analyze the play of the QB.
Jameis does not have any accuracy or touch on balls……
I’ve never seen a starting QB with so much inconsistencies in their throws
…….well wait…….he’s consistent with Turnovers!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!
November 26th, 2018 at 5:12 pm
DB55
LOL, and he was the only qb this season who haven’t had a 75% completion rate and over a hundred QB rating.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:12 pm
Yesterday Winston played more like a point guard. Get the ball to your scorers. Don’t wait until the 24 second clock is almost to zero. He looked the part yesterday and hoping he builds on that performance.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:18 pm
Antem Winston wasn’t in accurate yesterday. Really bad adjective to use about that game.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:19 pm
@BucsAnthem,
Aaron Rodgers is completing 61.7% of his passes this season.
Jameis Winston is completing 67.8% of his passes this season.
NFL average is 65.2% for 2018. You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts!
November 26th, 2018 at 5:23 pm
Outside of targeting djax, Jameis threw a grand total of 2 inaccurate passes.
Shut up anthem. Your analysis is lazy.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:26 pm
You’re gonna be doing a whole lot of posting cuz Jameis isn’t going anywhere! Ha.
Or you may post less when you see you are wrong. That would be nice. Weed out the dumb fans like yourself.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:29 pm
I got no problems calling out Winston for poor QB play but that doesn’t seem to be what youre doing when you tell us how bad he was yesterday.
Anybody that paid any attention yesterday saw better QB play then Winston is known for. His decision making was much much better and he even hit a deep ball.
If you’re still not happy then you are likely going to(rightfully) be labeled a hater and ignored with the other 2 of you.
November 26th, 2018 at 5:34 pm
The few posters here that truely hate Winston likely aren’t even Buc fans.
Probably displaced Giant fans that walk around butthurt cause nobody care about their team
November 26th, 2018 at 5:40 pm
Buccernutter……Or if that happens they could just say they were proven wrong and continue posting……..but their seems to be a lot of people posting here that get a stiff for the chance to say I told you so.
Don’t really understand why comments that nobody remembers are so important to people. I think it’s a melllinial thing
November 26th, 2018 at 5:47 pm
First of all, Winston will never be an elite QB, only average at best.
Second, I hope that Koetter goes back and listens to his own presser.
Seems like Winston now is a game manager. Good.
November 26th, 2018 at 6:15 pm
@BrianBucs,
I prefer the term point guard over game manager.
November 26th, 2018 at 6:30 pm
The issue is simple, DJax is soft and is a one trick pony
Have to have him wide open with NO chance of contact or he shrivels up and ducks out of the way
On the deep ball, yeah, JW has overthrown his share, but DJax has also given ZERO effort on just as many, he quit running yesterday on the bomb, watch the tape!!!
PUT HIM ON IR NOW!!!!!!!
November 26th, 2018 at 6:36 pm
Winston now is a game manager
————
I saw that and I hated it. It’s like using your rolls Royce to only drop the kids off at school. Seems like a total waste. And who told Koetter that Winston can’t run RPOs? Winston is an athlete straight up, game manager he is not or shouldn’t be.
November 26th, 2018 at 6:39 pm
This issue is kinda what I though was happening. He would take so long to figure out what to do, the defense would key in on him and pick it off. Every play yesterday was boom-boom.
November 26th, 2018 at 6:40 pm
Great to see Jameis had an essentially perfect game but what happened during the Bengals game? And what is going to stop that from occurring in the future? The Bengals game was so bad it was incredible–essentially 5 int in 3/4 game. So we have a long long way to go with this kid.

Again showing your lack of football knowledge. The reason they were stationary is because they played a ton of zone.
When they had man, he hit Evans deep, Godwin on a slant and Evans on a scramble play all for good chunk plays. If we ran continuous routes vs zone those are rarely successful without a ton of time. But see you would have to understand football to get so I understand if you don’t.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:03 pm
DB55 – He was literally like a 4th or 5th stringer playing with no starting WRs on a team with no WR depth, I think that’s why the defense managed to hold them to just 9 points. I really don’t think the defense suddenly figured it out, their best games so far have been against Alex Smith, who had no NFL level WRs on the team and Nick Foles, who arguably has no NFL level WRs.
We shall see. Personally I’m hoping the young guys are in fact maturing and playing better, but I think against the Panthers, even without quality WRs, we’ll see what we normally see – although the Bucs defense does seem to play better at home, so maybe instead of giving up 38 they’ll only give up 31, that would give the offense a chance perhaps.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:07 pm
Jean Lafitte – You’re down by 21 in that scenario because Dirk wins the toss and kicks the ball away, the other team scores a TD, then the Bucs get the ball and Dirk has a run up the middle quota that he must fulfill in the 1st half, so you come out, run up the gut for no yardage, punt, the defense of course allows a TD drive, then get the ball back, now down 14, Dirk still says we must run it up the middle, so we do so for no gain, then punt, then of course the defense allows a TD, so now it’s the 2nd period and it’s 21-0 and the offense has had the ball twice.
I mean it’s not out of the question the Bucs do score on offense, and then it’s back to the defense giving up another TD, so it might be 28-7 in the 2nd instead of 21-0, or maybe the defense gets a big stand and it’s only 17-0, but it’s the same general idea.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:17 pm
A lot of times when professional athletes are struggling, it’s because they’re in their own head too much. Even though they get paid millions, they’re still humans. Jameis hinted at that in his post-game press conference, when talking about him personally chasing the early success of “Fitzmagic.” Something that Fitzpatrick wasn’t even able to replicate again after week two. Jameis knows that he has to be the best Jameis Winston that he can be. Hopefully, that nearly flawless game against the 49ers and the great half that he played against the Giants a week before, gives him the extra boost in confidence that he needs. I’ve been really impressed watching how mature he has gotten, and how he didn’t let the demotion bring him down.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:39 pm
Jameis 3-2 in his last 5 starts, and should be 4-1 if he had a decent kicker as they win that Falcons game.
3-2, and certainly if he was 4-1, with this defense, is not struggling. He had a bad road game on a bad weather day – outside of that he should be undefeated in that 5 game stretch.
But lets go back before those last 5 games…
Week 16 @Carolina – Winston throws for 367 yards, no INTs, gives the team a 4th quarter lead only to watch the defense lose the game.
Week 15 Atlanta – Winston throws for 299 yards, 3 TDs, no INTs, gets the game within one score.
Week 14 Detroit – Winston throws for 287 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs (same as Stafford), ties the game in the 4th only to watch the defense collapse and march down the field to win the game.
Week 13 @GB – Winston throws for 270 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, gives the defense a 4th quarter lead only to watch the defense collapse, go to OT, defense can’t get off the field and Winston never gets the ball back.
So that’s your “struggling” QB narrative.
Winston, with a decent (not good, just decent) defense, can legitimately claim to win every one of those starts except the Bengals game – yet the dopes pretend the Bengals game is the norm. That’s why they’re fake news.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:44 pm
Will someone please answer this question? Why is Wentz, the next coming, 1-12 when the eagles give up 26 or more points? And that’s with a capable kicker! Good thing they had a top 5 defense last year. Kid might be healing his other knees on this team.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:47 pm
That falcons game he drove down for a tying 32 yard FG that was missed. Kickers have cost us just as much as our turrible defense
November 26th, 2018 at 7:48 pm
In the falcons game, we missed a last minute 32 yarder to tie the game
November 26th, 2018 at 8:06 pm
Jsmalls, last year Carson was playing behind one of the best O-lines in the league, he had the combination of Jay Ajayi and Legarrette Blount in the backfield, and the 4th ranked defense. If you replaced Wentz with the janitor at One Buc Place, he would’ve won a Super Bowl too.
November 26th, 2018 at 8:21 pm
The Chicago Bears are ranked 20th in offensive total yards per game
105 yards less per game than the Bucs
But they score more points per game than the Bucs
Chicago. 28.8..Tampa Bay. 26.7
Chicago is 8-3 ,the Bucs are 4-7
Chicago is tied for the league in turnover ratio +14
The Bucs are dead last -21
Chicago defense leads the league in takeaways with 29
This has always been the Bears identity
This is what Lovie was trying to bring to Tampa
But the Bucs settle for Dirk Koetter and his vertical offense
Lots of explosive plays, lots of turnovers
Lack of defensive turnovers, lack of defense
A finesse football team, that lacks physicality
A team that lacks an identity
A team that get push around a lot, a whole lot
November 26th, 2018 at 8:29 pm
Lakeland that’s cause the Bucs are only good at one phase of the game.
You have to be able to win in different ways in the NFL or you’ll have a losing record.
November 26th, 2018 at 8:29 pm
Our identity is the vertical passing game.
Turnovers and missing field goals are from QB making stupid decisions or bad throws, and kickers missing FG is all on the kicker.
Also the defense spotting opponents 40 points before half, that’s all on the defensive coordinator, which is why we FIRED HIS A#$!
November 26th, 2018 at 8:41 pm
The Bengal game was his first start of the season vs a team that had 5 starts under their belt…
Kotter should have road it out but he had a Diva WR to cater to… This reason alone is why I want him gone…the decision to start and ride with JW week 4 should have been made in the off season…
Bye Kooooter…. You are the weakest link!!!!
And you had my full confidence….
November 26th, 2018 at 8:42 pm
JimmyJack,
The Bears and the Bucs use to have the same identity
Especially when the Bucs were in the NFC Central
It was all about Physicality
The game was won in the trenches
This is why Warren Sapp laughs at these guys
He call them Soft, Wimps
And other words I won’t say here
This team is as soft as toilet tissue
They are a complete joke
Passing yards, passing yards
Nothing in the trenches
Offense turning the ball over
Defense not getting turnovers
You can’t win football games like this
IMPOSSIBLE
November 26th, 2018 at 8:46 pm
Football games are won in the trenches
Not by air mail

BREAKING NEWS: Jameis Winston still sucks and will never lead the Bucs to the playoffs.
November 26th, 2018 at 9:12 pm
Winstoplogists in action. Lmao. Some of these comments are downright laughable. Still attacking the fans? Football knowledge? A Winstopologist is going to tell someone they don’t know about football. Haha. Clearly none of these people that defend him live in Tampa. I have asked almost every Buc fan I know and hardly anyone wants Winston to remain. This is not a joke. Look at the stadium. Is he bringing in the crowds? The fake news is thinking one normal game erases four years of sucking the life out the city. The team had to take his image off the side of the building. What do you think that did to his public perception? When they take him off of the side of the building am I supposed to reward him with support?
November 26th, 2018 at 9:21 pm
It’s ok Season the true Bucs fans, even the ones that were born and raised in Tampa and still live here like me, will take you back when you are actually happy when our team wins. So if your asking Bucs fans you know that are like you then you really aren’t asking Bucs fans now are you? Cause you sir are no Bucs fan, you are a Jameis haters nothing more.
November 26th, 2018 at 9:33 pm
Just to take a break from the boring diatribes, how about this…
If someone said before the season that in week 12 the Bucs would trail the Eagles by only a game, the Packers by a half game and would be one win better than the Jags, I think most everyone would have took it! So by that level of success Dirk is doing well.
November 26th, 2018 at 9:39 pm
Rod Munch,
The same teams don’t make the playoffs every year
That’s the problem with the Bucs
They are never one of the new teams to break through
Well at least, not for the past 11 years
November 26th, 2018 at 9:40 pm
I am hoping jameis can turn it around but it has been for years of no touch on his passes. One game against the team likely to get the number 1 overall draft pick and everyone is acting like he is the messiah again. I have live near orlando and have been a bucs fan my whole life but I guess since I question Winston’s throwing ability on touch passes I must be an idiot and a fairweather fan. You guys are a trip.
November 26th, 2018 at 9:41 pm
I’m just happy we got a stable kicker
November 26th, 2018 at 9:42 pm
Every fan has the right to question a Bucs player
We all don’t agree, that’s human nature
Everyone should respect others opinion
That’s what Mature people do
November 26th, 2018 at 9:44 pm
You guys are crazy. I don’t care what anyone says JW is a top 5 talent at Qb
This team can win with JW everyone needs to step up from dbs, dline, wrs, rbs, kickers when we lose if it is about winning. Everyone. Not just the QBs. It helps when we don’t play catch up ball all the time
Tua is not a NFL Qb and shows how ppl evelate QBs. And if think TUA is not a tebow but thinks JW sucks needs stay away from evaluation of NFL players
November 26th, 2018 at 9:49 pm
LakeLand – Yeah, that’s what happens when you fire your coaches every 2-3 years over and over and over again. I think Dirk is an idiot who shouldn’t be a head coach, but the idea of yet another “rebuild” just makes me stick to my stomach. We have a franchise QB, anyone that doesn’t realize that is literally an idiot, we have lots of talent at key positions, yet there is no overall depth and the Bucs have the worst secondary I’ve ever seen – and that in the age of everyone passing. When Dirk is fired, and no way he isn’t fired, what I hope happens is they hire someone that comes in to fix the defense and special teams and leaves the offense alone – sort of how Gruden wasn’t able to get his grubby hands on the defense and start dismantling it until after he got Rich McKay fired. The offensive system works just fine – just remove the mandatory Dirk up the middle for no gain on 1st down play from the playbook, and we’re set for the next decade.
November 26th, 2018 at 9:51 pm
Who will be the next Winstapegoat?
November 26th, 2018 at 9:53 pm
@Season is Over
You forgot to mention that Winstopologists, in their minds, still see Winston wearing his FSU uniform, and winning game after game. They do not understand that the NCAA game and the NFL game are two totally different games as far as the pace and level of competition. They will not see that Winston is not a franchise QB at the NFL level. Great in college, average in the pros.
November 26th, 2018 at 9:54 pm
Rod Munch,
I think they should have gave Schiano and Lovie more time
2 years isn’t enough time to build a team
Firing a HC after 2 seasons is crazy
November 26th, 2018 at 9:57 pm
First Lovie trying to preach int’s instead of tacking and covering and now Koetter only wanting splash plays . I’ll take 20/30 yard plays which Jameis has no problem vs waiting for the 40+ yard plays to develop . You hit this big ones once or twice a game not 10 times . There not necessary and neither is Djax .,
November 26th, 2018 at 10:13 pm
Im huge Northwestern wildcat fan and I only follow Big 10 or 12 football. JW is a top flight Qb and average is Mullens, Marriota, Rosen, Keenum and of course Fitz.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:16 pm
LakeLand – I think Schiano was a piece of Jersey trash who single handedly ruined Josh Freeman, who had shown a ton of promise. He rode Freeman so hard he pushed him to a life of drugs (well allegedly). I firmly believe this, but have no way of knowing it, but I’m thinking Schiano called Freeman a fatso so much he drove him to drugs and suddenly Freeman loses like 60 pounds in one offseason and gets a 6-pack. But Fat Freeman was a great young QB who literally looked and played like Big Ben, was even tougher to bring down than Winston, and who could make big plays – but he was an awful leader and had a very fragile psyche and that’s where Schiano was basically the worst choice they could have made.
As for Lovie, I said it at the time, it was stupid to fire him. Dirk hadn’t been an NFL head coach for a reason, you can’t be a good OC for that long and be that old without getting a job without there being a reason, and we’ve seen why no one else ever gave him that job. Also it took Dirk away from working one-on-one with Winston on a daily basis – it made the offense have a part time OC and I just don’t get how that’s a good thing. I wasn’t so much in love with Lovie, I just hated the idea of taking an OC who had a good year and then promoting him, which in turn meant what made him good he’s no longer doing, it never made sense to rush Lovie out the door.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:18 pm
So yeah a JW type talent is hard to come by and must be retained and signed long term. I agree with Mike Evans. I don’t a crap or 2 Furks about his turnovers and past transgressions. Get plan.
Now him eating Ws is a little weird.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:19 pm
Brian buc i know you are a jameis hater. And you are saying yesterday he was a game manager. Saying that is what koetter wants him to be. If 309 yards and 2 touchdowns is a game manager. I wil take that qb all day long. That translates into 4900 yards and 32 touchdowns in a season. Yeah that the stats of a game manager play it safe Charlie checkdown qb. Will just hate to hate. Can’t just say he had a good game.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:21 pm
Season is over. Only problem is that Winston is still in at QB. If he keeps winning and playing well he will earn more and more support from the fans. Some will take longer then others.
Long way for him to go and he might not get there but til then enjoy the ride.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:28 pm
I am a fan when I turn the TV on. Are you the Buc authority. The Orwellian NDog? I can be whatever fan I want. All you do is attack the fans of this city and then you wonder why you sit in the stadium with opposing fans. This is probably because you told everyone that sits around you how to be a real Buc fan.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:28 pm
TheBucsAnthem give it up! with the “many inaccurate throws” crap! he completed 76% of his pass and had 9 incompletions total with at least 1 being a drop by DJax
November 26th, 2018 at 10:33 pm
GrafikDetail…..another incompletion was o throwaway pass toward Djax because of a free Blitzer. Another incomplete was on a last second 50/50 ball on the last play of the half.
Some actually remember the events of the game. Others throw out wild accusations like this “innacurate” nonsense.
November 26th, 2018 at 10:39 pm
I will say it again, there is no doubt in my mind that this was the first game that Todd Monken was calling the plays with Jameis. Nobody will ever convince me that Koetter didn’t take back over the play calling when Jameis came back from suspension. For 3 years it has been the same thing but Sunday was different. He threw on first down and sometimes on second after he threw on first and that rarely happened over the last 3 years.
As an aside, can someone please explain to me what Koetters beef is with Barber? He literally plays the guy for 2 quarters no matter how well he is running. Baffling, maybe he is still mad he fumbled 1 time last year.

Season that is one thing we agree on, very few people that attend or even watch games really know anything about the game. So you my friend are in the majority. And no I am no the authority I just love the game and am into more than most. I played a long time and loved it so I see it differently than most, not better or worse just differently. I just hate when people come on hear ripping players and they are waaaay off base. Jameis is not perfect, he was HORRIBLE at Cincy but to act like that is who he is just flat wrong but you people are blind with hate for him so it really doesn’t matter what he does cause you will never see it. Sad but true.

Jjbucfan. It’s been reported that Dirk only called one game this year. Vs Washington.

No one said this but you. You are the one who thinks he knows everything telling everyone how to be a real fan. You have had every opportunity to argue what I have written in the past. As did everyone else. Why was it not way off base then?

What are you even talking about? What did you write that you what answered?

Two Bucs fans displacing their anger and lashing out on each other. This is our identity as a fanbase.
It’s always funnier when it comes after a Win!
Go Bucs Baby!!

Lol captain dink and dunk had 1 incompletion tonight and still lost, and Aaron Rodgers has one INT on the year, yet both teams have a losing record……….

You know…
When Jameis reverts back to his normal bone head decision making turnover machine QB that he is come this Sunday……
I want all you Winston lovers apologists blind lemmings to come in here and once again try to explain why he played the way he does and I can guarantee you all will sound like a bunch of Democrats trying make stuff about Trump from total BS or from bogus football knowledge.
It really is pointless trying to explain logic to Winston lovers when all they still see is that kid in FSU who still was inconsistent in college too.
It’s ok…… This Sunday is coming so is the BS too.

I was at the game. I’ll be honest. It’s the only one I attended this year. It allowed me to focus on the full routes of the receivers or specifically watch Vea for example instead of limited to the camera on TV. Here’s my takeaways from what I saw. Vea can definitely be a beast. After Vea had made a nice tackle for a loss, I told my son that I’m going to focus on him the next play. I saw him go running faster than any man his size should be able to and blast the O Lineman on his way to blasting Mullens for a sack. I have new-found hope in that dude. Still say we should have drafted Derwin but, hey, that was a game that needed to happen for Vea as much as Licht. Obviously the defense played well. The picks were gifts but we did force Mullens into bad throws. Our run defense is incredibly porous. I fear for this defense against Cam and McCaffrey next week. Carolina will run a ton of misdirection plays. Let’s see if our defensive coaches actually prepare for this game. Jameis was the story. Dude was incredible. I watched D Jax on both missed passes to him. The first one seems as though D Jax takes off on the fly, sort of loafs it and picks up the pace. The second one, D Jax didn’t get his head around fast enough and Winston had no more time. The big thing is no turnovers for JW and he took off or took a sack when he needed to. If he can continue that improvement and take care of the ball, he can be exactly who we hoped.

JimmyJack-I know that is what was reported, I’m just saying-I don’t believe it, it’s an ego thing. JMO but the play calling was much different yesterday than it has been for Jameis in the last few years.

@JP_09
The funny thing is the JW haters continue to complain about not picking Mariota. Look, if you don’t like Winston, fine, but he’s light years better than Mariota.

They lost to the hottest team in the NFL
A team with great defense
A run game, a passing game
Special Teams, good coaching ,the works
The Houston Texans are a team to watch
The Texans had 281 rushing yards tonight
6 Sacks, 0 Turnovers, and DeShaun Watson only 5 incomplete passes
November 26th, 2018 at 11:39 pm
Game Managers don’t throw the ball 38 times a game….
November 26th, 2018 at 11:40 pm
I know the Saints has won 10 straight
But I think the Texans are the hottest team in the NFL
With 8 straight wins

Tired of anyone who disagrees about Winston being a franchise quarterback being called an idiot. Why the nasty attitude?
Also tired of fans who suggest that he should not be playing call fans that like him lemmings or worse.
Why do fans on this site pick out just some games to justify whether Winston is horrible or great.
Example:
Giving stats to 5 games in 2017 but leaving out other games in 2017 or 2018.
Or relying on the bad performances in Cleveland or Cincinnati as who Winston has been every game.
I think most of us think Winston is somewhere between a Pro bowl player and someone who should not play at all.

Apart from Hump, who is usually operating out of the slot, all the other targets are 6′ 1″+. DJax is a vertical threat that is short.
Why doesn’t Jameis have a problem hitting DJax on out, slant, or comeback routes? Because Jameis has a limited range of accuracy. Timing and accuracy on the long ball are not his game unless you are 6’4″ and can make a play on the ball.
He is not consistently accurate. He has hit DJax in a game and probably in practice, but it’s not a play you can rely on. So, this experiment has failed. DJax had the same requirements with other teams he’s played for – accurate passes in stride in his basket or nothing. Some QBs can consistently hit an open receiver no matter the down and distance. It’s the easiest pass in the game if you are accurate and have some touch on the ball.
November 27th, 2018 at 6:26 am
Completion % is the hallmark of an accurate passer? Umm, no. So many balls have to be reached for, pulled from behind, receiver has to change his stride, etc. It is what they are paid to do, but let’s not get carried away with Jameis is such an accurate passer crap. That is far from the truth.
A lot of QBs would be putting up ridiculous numbers with our weapons of pass destruction. Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady would be breaking records with our pass catchers. Hell Fitz did it before he turned back into a pumpkin and reverted back to being Mitch “Wild Thing” Williams.
If you have ever played the game and played QB or WR, you can see it clear as day.

@Bucsanthem, I’ll ask you the same thing I asked asked dipsh*t Pete the other day and to no unveil I didn’t get an answer. Since you want Winston gone, what’s your plan at QB going forward, and what’s your plan to fix the worst defense in the history of the NFL. Please tell me you want Joe Flacco after the ravens release him or Teddy Bridgeater……….I’m not against bringing in competition for Winston in the offseason, but Incase you haven’t noticed, the QB market isn’t very impressive. So let’s here the master plan you have, I’m sure I’ll get the “any QB is better than Winston” response, which will only demonstrate how f*cking dumb you and your c*ck gobbling buddy Pete are

If you go back and watch…most of Jameis’s completions were to stationary receivers,IMO, by design….that won’t fly long, DC see that…among many weaknesses in Jameis’s game ,hitting WR’s in stride is a huge issue
——————-
You realize that “stationary receivers” had to be moving at some point to get them to their spot to receive the ball, right? That still requires timing. It is also what is most effective against the zone or off coverage. Against tight man to man defense, receivers need to be hit in stride…. it’s funny how you notice that the receivers were stationary but no idea why. So you think DCs are suddenly going to stop playing zone against us despite having three wide receivers that are match up nightmares down the field in Evans, Jackson, and Godwin? Hey, thanks for your crack scouting report. I’ll print it out and use it as kindling.
