Your Starting QB For Sunday Is…
November 19th, 2018Well, this is interesting.
The Bucs’ starting quarterback for Sunday against the 49ers is still to be determined. That’s the word from Bucs Bit-O-Honey-snacking, Ozark-watching Bucs coach Dirk Koetter.
Koetter said he has made a decision, but has yet to tell his two quarterbacks. Koetter said he would announce his decision after he informs both quarterbacks.
Koetter added he would never release a decision like this to the fourth estate before advising the players.
So the mystery and the drama continue.
Koetter did say that America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, played better than in previous games. “He got us into the end zone four straight times,” Koetter said. The Bucs coach added “for the most part” Jameis made good decisions.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:39 pm
Lol Koetter Damn man
November 19th, 2018 at 2:40 pm
Why does this team love drama? Might as well bring back Chris Baker to run MC.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:41 pm
Can we just fire this clown so we can have a head start on the coaching search
November 19th, 2018 at 2:44 pm
Would be funny as hell if they actvate Griffin and start him just to see joe have a stroke.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:45 pm
Comical that Dirk didn’t have enough time today to tell his QBs what was going on for the coming week. Seems like it would have been addressed if it was a priority which makes me wonder what his priorities actually are.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:46 pm
They should start Griffin. No reason not to see what he can do. We’ve seen what Fitz and Winston can do. Next man up.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:46 pm
can we old yeller this guy already?
November 19th, 2018 at 2:47 pm
I agree on starting Griffin..why not?? The other two just plain suck..so what do we have to lose? A better draft spot!
November 19th, 2018 at 2:48 pm
There’s no intrigue here unless they’re starting Griffin.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:49 pm
Watching the presser, is Koetter growing out his beard for a prolonged stay in Idaho? It sure looks like it.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:50 pm
Fire Koetter today so we can can a jump on the coaching search
November 19th, 2018 at 2:51 pm
The others are stiffs, put in The Griff!
November 19th, 2018 at 2:51 pm
If the Glazers are waiting for Koetter to clean out his office to start a coaching search, they are far out of touch than many believe.
(Glazers started their search to release Schiano as early as October 2013.)
November 19th, 2018 at 2:51 pm
It is Winston, if it was Fitz he would of said were sticking with Fitz. How in the world can you not contact both of them before the pre scheduled press conference?
November 19th, 2018 at 2:52 pm
“He plays just well enough to get you beat.” – Bill Walsh
Kinda sums up both QBs this year… and last year… and last decade…
November 19th, 2018 at 2:53 pm
It is the talent on defense not Koetter…Patience Coachhoppers
November 19th, 2018 at 2:54 pm
I’ve been saying that ever since Winston got yanked. We know Fitz is back to his old habits, so he’s out. Jameis still doesn’t get the ball security thing (vis a vis his fumble into the end zone). So why the hell carry 3 QBs if your only going to use 2, EVER? Let’s see what Griffin can do in real game action. Forget any hope of pulling off miracles these last several games. Let’s see if Griffin truly is a really good QB, as Koetter has consistently maintained.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:54 pm
Griffin should get a shot and Jamis should also but with all new coach’s here next year!
November 19th, 2018 at 2:55 pm
The season is over. Both QB’s are ATM’s. The defense is garbage. Special teams is garbage. The coach is in over his head. The owners anther another story. Sorry you picked the Bucs but that is the Buccaneer way. Live with it.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:57 pm
There is nothing written into law Team Glazer cannot (or hasn’t) start a coaching search with Koetter still on board. Nothing.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:01 pm
I’m hoping he say’s Griffin has earned a start. Well maybe not earned but through the process of elimination.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:02 pm
Josh Freeman, perhaps?
November 19th, 2018 at 3:04 pm
I have been all in on Griffin for weeks now. How stupid is it to have Griffin taking up a roster spot for 3 years and have him in street clothes every stinking game? What the hell is upwith that? Give the kid a chance or get rid of him and get a corner or a safety. He has earned a shot just by having to watch this team,up close and personal every week. Looked like a good arm in preseason. Suit him up!!!
November 19th, 2018 at 3:07 pm
“WTF???
Glazers started a Head Coach search?…LOL!!
that means GM staying or the owners will pick the Head Coach and not the GM?LOL!
Please…There is no HC search right now…LOL!
Kobe gives the Glazer Boys credit…They admit to screwing up to listening to an incompetent lies of an meathead
100%!!
2019, Team Glazers going to hire a president of operations to hire new GM and HC”

November 19th, 2018 at 3:08 pm
PSLBob – You ever heard of coach speak? No NFL coach who thinks a player is up to the task and can outperform others on the team places said player on the third string. He is third string because he is the third best option at QB on this team. He is not going to come in and lead this team to wins. Koetter is telling you how he really feels about the Griffin when he puts him 3rd on the depth chart. Jesus dude it isn’t rocket science.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:08 pm
This ab decision has something to do with R. Griffin
November 19th, 2018 at 3:09 pm
Incompetent coach
Infuriating
Disgraceful
November 19th, 2018 at 3:10 pm
Such idiotic commnets above!!!!
So friggin’ stupid!!!
I’ll talk slowly so that all the haters can understand…
The Bucs offense is going to obliterate most of their offensive records this season.
Points scored in a season.
Total yards in a season.
TD passes in a season
Passing yards in a season
The #1 problem for this team is the defense. PERIOD. Anyone who says otherwise is patently ignorant to anything that has to do with football. The Bucs do turn the ball over way too much – but a substantial amount of those turnovers are due to having the defense put the team in such a large hole and force them to take unnecessary risks to keep pace.
The coaching puts the QBs in those situations as well.
First – Koetter starts the #1 coach killer of all time… Fitz
Second – he defers despite winning the toss so that the incompetent defense can give up a TD on the opening drive and put the team in a hole right away.
The second I heard that they were deferring I absolutely knew the team would be down 7-0 before touching the ball on offense.
Jameis is literally the only hope this team has from being back to square zero AGAIN.
Root for him, folks. And pray that the team is smart enough to give him the rest of the season to make its final evaluation.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:13 pm
Are we still praising Winston’s good quarter and forgetting his nearly four years worth of film?
November 19th, 2018 at 3:14 pm
NEVER wrote that. DID write they could already. Just because Koetter is still Bucs coach does not impede the Glazers from beginning a coaching search. Again, Glazers did this weeks before firing Schiano in 2017.
This notion that the wheels for a new coach cannot be set in motion until Koetter is relieved of his duties is nonsense.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:16 pm
“Great offense?????????????????
with a terrible offensive line and running game???
great offenses like the rams, chiefs and saints have
great off lines, running games and passing attack
all 3 not 1
please please please stop reading these nonsensical gibberish about yards”
Kobe Faker
November 19th, 2018 at 3:19 pm
I see a butthurt storm brewing amongst the Winston haters. 🤣
November 19th, 2018 at 3:20 pm
“So the Glazers will choose the new HC and not the GM?
only possibility of Glazers having a HC search right now is that Gump is staying and the Glazers together with Gump are searching and will decide on a new HC”
“God help us all”
Kobe Faker
November 19th, 2018 at 3:20 pm
Tony…..good call on the choice to defer. Deferring has never helped our team once and consistently backfires and Dirk doesn’t seem to understand it or care about it.
I have been harping about this for a while but have given up. A psychological thing happens when you defer. The other offense sees you do it and they take offense. You give them a chip on their shoulder on that first drive……Which is a recipe for disaster when you trot out the last place defense to stop them.
Maybe we will lose the last 6 flips and I’ll stop pulling my hair out.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:21 pm
If you cant stay relevant with a winning team….drama is an acceptable back up with today’s media/society. Whatever keeps folks talking….or maybe strategically we are that desperate that we don’t want to tip our hand to the 49ers. Its doesn’t matter at this point. We aren’t playing for the playoffs….again. So basically any win is just another ding to next season’s hope of getting a premier player in the draft. #ClassicBucs
November 19th, 2018 at 3:21 pm
The Defense is the issue. Hire a HC with a strong D background. Retain Monk and a hire a good staff. Fix this issue and they are SB bound next year.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:22 pm
More likely the Glazers haven’t told him who to start yet.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:22 pm
Kobe the Glazers are not doing the HC search this year. They are letting Gump handle it all on his own I bet.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:22 pm
toss RG4 in there for the monkey- wrench !
#DirkingUsAround
November 19th, 2018 at 3:23 pm
R. Griffin will be promoted to back up Winston or Fitzpatrick will back up Griffin.
What else would make it such a drawn out decision. Go Bucs!!

Ive been getting some weird feelings that
Forrest Gump is staying”

November 19th, 2018 at 3:27 pm
Worst head coach in the NFL.
It does not take an expert to see which QB is more talented.
Wouldn’t surprise me if decides Adam Humphries is the QB this week.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:28 pm
If Koetter is trying to save his job, the best option is to get back on the JW3 wagon… If he’s trying to get fired, he’ll keep playing “musical chairs” with the most important position on the field.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:28 pm
Kobe I think the only canidate that might convince the Glazers to keep Licht is Bruce Arians.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:31 pm
Kobe my only exception to you is when you disrespect Forest Gump. Gump is a beloved American icon.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:34 pm
Instead of the team firing Dirk and giving us fans something to rally beyond they this us this nonsense and something to argue about.
This orginazation is well beyond the point of treating it’s own fans like dirt.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:34 pm
“JJ
JBF and pewter report posts will tell you if Gump is fired or not.
right now both hasnt turned on Forrest
“injury bug” might be Gumps last selling point?”

November 19th, 2018 at 3:40 pm
I’ve noticed that Tampa media(radio) is not starting to get behind and support Winston today and last night.
A week or two ago you would be hard pressed you hear any pro-Winston comments…….Now that’s changing.
Now I wonder how many mistakes can Winston makes before they turn on him again? Or how about he just play good football and not let that happen.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:41 pm
So it took the Glazer boys from October to January to come up with Lovie Smith?
They are genius !
November 19th, 2018 at 3:45 pm
Buc’n enough…….or maybe it took the Glazers from October to December to get rejected by any qualifed HC canidate.
In January they reach into the bottom of the barrel and pulled Lovie out of his dark and lonely basement.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:46 pm
Here comes Jameis
November 19th, 2018 at 3:50 pm
Kris Richard – HC
Todd bowles- DC
Hue Jackson- OC
Bruce Arians – President of FB ops
-Kris knows defense and can develop our secondary and would have 3 former HC to lean on…..
-Todd knows defense and can get them to be productive…..
-Hue knows QB’s and can help develop winston into a franchise QB…..
-Bruce wont allow licht to draft a kicker in the 2nd round and let him ignore the trenches…..
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!
November 19th, 2018 at 3:51 pm
Jameis will blow his chance, eventually. The 49er running backs and QB have to be excited.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:51 pm
I really like what Koetter’s done with the offense, but he’s too pig-headed, obstinate and stubborn to be a head coach. At this point he’s not doing what’s best for the team which would be to play the younger guys, Winston, Liekte, Cappa, etc. and see what we’ve got. Honestly, I’d love to have a new studly d-coordinator come in as head coach and let Monken use the Koetter framework with some additional wrinkles (more hurry up, hot routes, running back screens, more creative running concepts).
I think the Glazers should fire both Koetter and Licht now. Let Monken be the interim coach. If he keeps the offense at 500 yards a game, he might be picked up by a new head coach, or be a candidate to take over. His play calling shows that he’s not going to be so stubborn that he risks his (italics) job by being blindly loyal to a d-coordinator who has the 32nd ranked defense in multiple categories.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:52 pm
Doesn’t matter if the Glazer’s have or haven’t started the coaching search.
If they are the ones that are going to make the final decision on the next HC, then they will almost assuredly make the wrong decision. They need to hire someone with knowledge of what it takes to build a dynasty, and let him make the decision.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:54 pm
I’m sorry to disagree but the worst HC belongs to Marvin Lewis & Mike Brown is the worst owner. But don’t worry we have the worst GM.
November 19th, 2018 at 3:58 pm
jimmy
i think we lose that game regardless of who starts…..fitz had 3 TO’s…..had the giants defenders had any hands, they wouldve picked winston off twice….and had the ball not bounced our way winston wouldve had 3 TO’s himself…..
this all points to dirk and the QB coach…..the QB’s are making the same mistakes over and over again in the same offense…..thats coaching…..
unfortunately, i dont see things getting any better…..i think the team as a whole comes out flat, 9ers jump on us and we’re down 24-0 by half time…..they score 1 TD after the half and winston throws 4 TD’s while having a TO or 2 and we lose 31-28…..folks will say winston’s TO killed us and will be asking for fitz magic again……
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!
November 19th, 2018 at 4:02 pm
Please let Griffin start! The large Joe will have a damn heart attack if that happens!!
November 19th, 2018 at 4:03 pm
Winston is starting
November 19th, 2018 at 4:53 pm
I think it’s going to Winston, and if it is, I think they should deactivate Djax for the game. Putting those two on the field at the same time is a lost cause.
November 19th, 2018 at 5:19 pm
TDTampaBay – Ok I get why Griffin is 3rd string. But why take up that spot on the roster when there are so many other holes to fill if you think your 1st and 2nd stringers can get it done?
November 19th, 2018 at 5:34 pm
Just like the game before..I have visions in my head of us making the 49ers offense..renewed for the year!
November 19th, 2018 at 11:38 pm
Lifeofabuc
U r clueless! Amazing , Ryan Griffin ? Oh ok! When you run a throw it down the field offense and CHUCK it 50 times a game it is a recipe for disaster! Don’t blame Jameis when our D can’t stop anyone. U really can’t ever establish the run! If I was Jameis I would dink it and dunk it and milk the clock, keep the D OFF THE FIELD, convert third and shorts, scramble just like 2016. Stop w the high risk down the field BS UNLESS ITS PLAY ACTUON! Run the freaking ball 30 times for once and DO NOT DEFER! Don’t put this CRAP D on the field to start the game. Send a message TO YOUR TEAM TGST ” We are gonna run it down their throat and use our weapons in play action! Shock the world and go on a run! I know I’m dreaming but I’m tired of this bombs away offense when u have a back that can punish a Defense! Win this game at home CLEAN for once

Please Jeff Vinik,
Offer these clowns their $2 billion to go away, and make our Buccaneers great in our lifetime.
November 20th, 2018 at 12:31 am
You forgot a zero in there. $2 billion would be giving it away.
November 20th, 2018 at 1:15 am
Forbes values the franchise at $1.97 billion. Near the bottom of the league in value. Of course.
