Private Time With Jameis
November 18th, 2018It’s not often that Joe gets private time with America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.
That happened today in the somber Bucs locker room at the Meadowlands.
Jameis had finished his postgame news conference where he talked often about losing and winning and how anything in between doesn’t matter at all.
Jameis said it lots of different ways at the news conference.
“I just don’t like losing.”
“Our main focus is finding a way to win.”
“Way more focused on finding a way to win than anything negative right now.”
“That’s the worst part, the losing part.”
“We have to find a way to win.”
There was a news conference question about the calls for Dirk Koetter’s head.
“I mean, I love my head coach. He has to make some real tough decisions and I know that. But as a player on this team, I think our main overall is to focus on winning. I can’t make a decision on anything outside of the decisions that I make on the football field. … I’m trying so hard to find a way to win.”
Jameis went on to tell reporters about enduring the pain of personally helping cause a loss through a turnover, and how that pain runs through Ryan Fitzpatrick and other Bucs in various ways.
Joe did not hear any of that before talking to Jameis at his locker. Joe didn’t attend the Jameis presser.
What’s interesting is Jameis continued talking to Joe about the pain of losing without Joe bringing it up.
Jameis explained how it’s tearing him up inside. While the Bucs have struggled in three of his four seasons, Jameis 100 percent sees himself as a winner and he said he absolutely can’t tolerate the losing in any form or shape.
And while Jameis didn’t say other Bucs have a more relaxed mentality about losing, Jameis did say he wants to lead more Bucs to despise losing as much as he does.
This was a relaxed conversation about various subjects and Joe was not rolling a recorder.
When Jameis was drafted, Buccaneers legend and Jameis confidant Derrick Brooks was very public in his assessment of what would be Jameis’ greatest challenge in the NFL: handling losing.
Multiple times on radio with Steve Duemig before and after Jameis was drafted, Brooks said he knew Jameis to be such a fierce competitor with a long history of winning that the inevitable hard times in the NFL likely would be his stiffest test. The marriage of losing and young Jameis would be a bad fit, Brooks firmly speculated.
Joe mentioned that to Jameis today, and Jameis agreed with the take. But Jameis believes he’s past that in the sense that his never-look-back mindset is stronger than ever, as is his will to drive team improvement through the process of the daily grind.
Cameron Brate talked to Joe after the game about the return of Jameis and how he handled the benching — and that daily grind Jameis referenced.
“We really never lost faith in Jameis and a lot of that is because of the energy he brought to practice every day and how he continues to work hard every day,” Brate said. “So that spark you saw today, I can’t pinpoint any one thing or why we seem to play better when there’s a QB change in a game. But it’s is no surprise with Jameis.
“[Players] had their eye on Jameis, of course, looking for his reaction after we went back to Fitz. He dealt with it the right way and I think you saw the results of that today. But our challenge is to play a full game the way we’re capable.”
Joe hopes the nonsense is over at quarterback position — 24-year-old Jameis in, and 36-year-old Fitzpatrick out in a truly lost season.
Jameis has the ultimate sports challenge in front of him — turning losers into winners. And make no mistake, these Bucs are a band of losers.
On many levels, Joe thinks the Jameis’ mentality is just right to succeed on that front. There is no other option. As Ronde Barber said about Jameis before the season, “It’s time. It’s time.“

Jamies only played for one half today, and he fumbled and threw an interception. May God help us all
Four straight touchdown drives off the bench is hard to ignore, even for the anti-Jameis crowd. –Joe
November 18th, 2018 at 7:37 pm
Six games dude. Get me 4-2. You know if you step up your game others around you will respond.
You have to be the leader. That cannot be done if you are making mistakes and playing poorly. The first step to leading is to be good at what you are doing.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:37 pm
I hope Jameis can find his groove!
It would be awesome to see him click down the stretch.
He kept putting points up today. I’m hopeful he comes out sharp next week.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:38 pm
There’s nothing more for ownership to see. The very fact that Dirk was convinced that Fitz gave us the best chances to win makes it obvious that he should be canned. No matter what anybody thinks about JW, you can’t deny that he was outstanding today. 1 ill-advised throw and a hail mary that no sane fan could fault him for with 20 seconds left to go and a huge play needed. By the way any other receiver but D Jax either catches that throw or at least makes a better effort. I’m really proud of Jameis and confident that a real Head Coach should love what JW brings to the table. Imagine Jameis in a West Coast offense. He would kill it. I want Jim or John Harbaugh if either are available.
@7423. Spare me the BS. You seem to leave out 4 TD’s in less than a half or was that intentional because it destroyed your ignorant point about Jameis’s performance. Nobody in the world would blame that pick on Jameis when he has no choice but to heave the ball and hope. Sure, the fumble happened but it was an effort play and it resulted in a Bucs TD. Fitz frigging threw 3 picks including a pick 6.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:41 pm
Cmurda,
Dirk has a high flying offense. If Jameis doesn’t get susepended, then this clusterfu ck doesn’t happen. Dirk may well get fired, but he gets the season barring anything crazy.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:41 pm
Hopefully Winston will be taking that attitude with him to his new team and home in Buffalo next season
November 18th, 2018 at 7:42 pm
Joe,
I hope Jameis comes out sharp next week. If he can find his swagger then watch out. I wouldn’t say I expect him to come out and be a legit starting QB the rest of the way, but I for damn sure am hoping for it.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:43 pm
Why are we even critiquing a Hail Mary?
What the f is wrong with you?
November 18th, 2018 at 7:45 pm
Haha is the beta male mad that Jameis cane in and balled out?
Jameis needs to finish out this season, Dirk should’ve straight up said it today.
Maybe Dirk doesn’t know if he will be around to make that decision. Hey, dreams can happen.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:45 pm
That late pick didnt matter. Was basically a hail mary and low effort by Desean.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:49 pm
@Jimmy jack.
Thinking the same thing, looked like a hail mary. Wish prima donna Djax had went after it harder than what she did
November 18th, 2018 at 7:49 pm
Get rid of the players that EXPECT ago lose and don’t CARE about losing (see GMC and you can now add Brent Grimes to the list) among others then we can start to build on something positive.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:49 pm
Winston showed us something today…I can’t imagine he doesn’t finish the season as a starter. Right now…he’s the best option the Bucs have. He’s made a ton of mistakes…yes…but he deserves this last shot.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:52 pm
Exactly Kenny and JimmyJack. Insanity is finding fault with a weak effort by D Jax and a prayer that Jameis had no choice but to throw.
I disagree on Koetter. The Bucs only slim playoff chances rested on beating 3 bad teams in a row.
The Bucs followed that up by losing to the Skins and Giants. Both were games they were pretty much out of. Dirk SHOULD get fired tomorrow and at this point, I actually think it happens. The organization owes Dirk nothing. He’s done nothing. Now, McCarthy or Harbaugh have earned at least being retained until the end of the season.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:52 pm
You always used to call Steve Duemig “The dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, “The Big Dog,” Steve Duemig.” Temporarily forget? Or totally forgotten?
You are correct, though, when you said, “And make no mistake, these Bucs are a band of losers.”
With that in mind, how about a song for AC/DC loving GM Jason Licht:
“For Those About To Tank… We Salute You”
November 18th, 2018 at 7:52 pm
With all the loaf articles, I’m waiting for a Djax one. This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last. Many wide receivers catch that last pass. I mean 23 seconds, no timeouts, 80 yards a loafing DJax and let’s highlight that last INT. Fitz would’ve dumped it off to Rodgers for a 25 yard gain as time expires
November 18th, 2018 at 7:53 pm
Hopefully jameis can escape the black hole that is Tampa bay Buccaneers football and go on to a successful career away from this minor league franchise
November 18th, 2018 at 7:54 pm
Oh god, people are actually complaining about a hail mary? DeSean Jackson lacks effort and heart. How about you complain about DeSean Jacksons multiple zero effort plays for BOTH qbs today.

We had 30 seconds left. Good QBs are known for marching their teams down field to tie it up or win the game. NOT throw a pick your first play lmao xD
Jamies is a turnover clown, just like Fitz. Time to move on guys, it’s not the Quarterback that matters, it’s Koetter’s offensive scheme that getting us the yards and points.
Put Fitz in there, he throws 400 yards, 4 TD’s 2 turnovers. Put Jamies in there, he throws 400, 4 TD’s 3 turnovers. We need a better Quarterback

Come on man… didn’t Fitz do the same thing with the Bengals???? That means nothing. It’s Dirk Koetter’s offensive scheme that’s Great, not any of these turnover clown quarterbacks we have. Put anyone of them in there, they put up the same stats, except Fitz turns the ball over slightly less
November 18th, 2018 at 7:56 pm
Cmurda……I say the Glazers owe it to us to release Dirk.
I can’t stand the way this team play. They enter every effing game unprepared. This amatuer team does not entertain me in the slightest.

Zero timeouts
November 18th, 2018 at 7:57 pm
Jay Miss hasn’t really had any “swagger” since the National Championship season.

Agreed JimmyJack. 100%
November 18th, 2018 at 7:58 pm
Thx cmurda. Not sure where the extra 7 secs are coming from.
November 18th, 2018 at 7:58 pm
The Bucs don’t know how to win football games
They know how to pile on stats

November 18th, 2018 at 8:00 pm
Jamies has one of the most explosive WR in the NFL DJax and he doesn’t throw the ball deep to him. He rather throw to big tall slow receivers like Evans Brate and OJ all game (NO ACCURACY REQUIRED), with the occasional medium pass to humpries or godwin. He doesn’t stretch the ball down field. Defenses figured him out, which is why he’s America’s Turnover Machine
November 18th, 2018 at 8:00 pm

Every team in the league knows we do not take care of the football here in Tampa. They know that if they try they can strip our players of the ball. This is not luck. Teams are doing this to us and it’s working in every game.
This is amateur.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:03 pm
Every team knows we cannot defend a reverse. That’s why we see it ran against us every game. It works Everytime too…….A team that cannot figure these things out does not entertain me.
This is amatuer
November 18th, 2018 at 8:04 pm
I don’t know why u guys can still take Jamies seriously. Every day he tells you he wants to win and he’s trying so hard to get better, yet he keeps turning the ball over and making the same mistakes??
Staring down wide receivers, holding on to the ball too long, not using situational awareness, not protecting the football, throwing to the same receiver over and over no matter how many people are covering him…. etc. Aren’t you all sick and tired of his actions not matching up with his words?
November 18th, 2018 at 8:04 pm
That is the reason we need Jameis. This guy will get it done. We need to have a little more faith in him, and have forgiveness. Having that gift will bars more fruit. This team needs a coach who from day one believes in Jameis. We need discipline, passion, and love of the game type players which will require a new GM. Bucs wil never die!
November 18th, 2018 at 8:04 pm
JimmyJack,
But Bucs fans say that the 29 offensive turnovers don’t have any effect on the poor play of the defense.

November 18th, 2018 at 8:10 pm
**29 turnovers in 9 games**
November 18th, 2018 at 8:12 pm
Jameis needs a new coaching staff. All of these players need a new coaching staff.
But Hey its all because of Jameis and poorly timed interceptions right?
The Bucs finally have kicker, keep playing Jameis, keep Blitzing and playing aggressive. DONT GIVE UP ON JAMEIS!!!!!!!!!
November 18th, 2018 at 8:12 pm
7423……Just let it play out. I personally still believe in Winston I think he can play better football then he has.

Jamies and Fitz have two different styles of playing. The Giants prepared for Fitz, so we Jameis came he scored a lot of points. November 18th, 2018 at 8:18 pm
We should trade GMC JPP Kwon LVD and anyone else on defense any other team would want for a OL since it doesn’t matter who we have on defense teams are still gonna score 40 points against us.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:19 pm
@Lakeland. That wasn’t the case when 14 points were put up in the first 2 drives of the game. You can try your hardest to defend this defense but it is bad. Working on being historically bad. Jameis brought the team within 1 score and this defense gives up yet another TD. Look at the games we’ve lost and each and every team the defense needed a stop, they failed. I’m not even defending Jameis. His performance this year hasn’t cut the mustard but the guy was phenomenal today. Facts are facts.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:19 pm
That’s my quarterback. Jameis is the leader the Bucs need, but not who the one they deserve.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:21 pm
7423…..nice deflection. Trying to change topic by redirecting to a new argument. Facts are the facts. You’d rather criticize a guy that went 4 for 5 for touchdown drives than a historically tragic defense.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:22 pm
Remember when all the ignorant, Jameis-hating clowns wanted Jameis gone and Fitz as “The Franchise”? Haha good thing the idiots on this site aren’t in charge of the team! Get Jameis a HC that can get the kind of production we saw from McVay-Goff and this team will soar. Jameis has outgrown Dirk and needs a new voice. Time for Dirk to go and as for this year, it is officially Tank Season.
Gonna be a fun 6 games!

November 18th, 2018 at 8:26 pm
Jameis is salvageable. Dirk is not.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:26 pm
Great effort by Jameis but what did he have to lose? The game was automatically a Fitz loss so coming in with his loaded gun with no regard for making any mistakes was a win/win for him. Even Spielman said, “What does he have to lose?” …great effort Jameis, the football gods were smiling on you today but the next game is all on you …again. This teams needs more than luck it needs a real GENERAL.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:27 pm
The bucs seem to be frustrated and that seem to causing less and less effort I understand that last week the defense played their ass off and the offense score 3 point after being in the red zone 4 to 5 time. This week the defense couldn’t stop a rolling baby stroller and when they did get make a stop the offense turn it over so when the offense did start to score just seem like the defense was beat
November 18th, 2018 at 8:27 pm
We haven’t had a good Quarterbacked game since week 2. The day the magic died.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:28 pm
JJ. On evaluating Winston. Problem is, he wants to win. This defense is so bad the qb, whoever it is has to force the play, to have a chance to win. If, he could accept, you probably won’t win, just play smart football then ok. Not firing Koetter, last season, and installing a new philosophy on both sides of the ball sunk this team.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:29 pm
Jean yeah. This half of football means nothing if Winston can’t follow it up next week.
He will have tougher tests after that with some playoff contenders on our schedule.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:31 pm

November 18th, 2018 at 8:36 pm
Just because someone wants to be great doesn’t mean that they are, and just because somebody works hard doesn’t mean they will get better.
Nobody likes to lose, some folks just get use to it.
There are a lot of players on the Bucs that will tell you exactly the same things Winston did.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:36 pm
Jameis isn’t a bust
He is just an average qb that is and will never be consistent .
November 18th, 2018 at 8:39 pm

When your offense has turned the ball over 29 times in 9 games
And your defense has 4 takeaways during this period

I don’t understand why there is a debate. Jameis should start either way. If you don’t think he is the qb of the future. Then call a safe game for him have him playing good football these last 6 games. And a team like Jacksonville or the giants would gladly give up a first round pick for a 25 year old qb with two 4,000 yards seasons. Both teams have good running games and some good young receivers. So I think they would rather take him than take a stab at Herbert or Grier and not know what you are going to have. And if you are planning on keeping him he needs to play to get all the game experience he can. I just believe if he had Barkley behind him to hand it to 20 times knowing he is going to get first downs and chunk plays. And you can check it down to him knowing he could take it to the house that would change his whole game. Barber ran hard today. But a better back with more speed would have had 200 yards rushing. Some of the wide open lanes barber had he was just a couple steps slow of being able to take it to the house. Like the one to the right were the first defender was 20 yards down field he hiked two times the defender never moved and he ran right in to him. Barkley would have taken that to the house probaly jumped the dude and been a highlight of the week.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:55 pm
There are very few guys on this team younger than Winston, dude how you think you can teach grown men to take pride in their jobs and despise losing. Seems like winning cuts into their vacation time like they hate the idea of playing more than 16 games. Old sorry arse veterans aren’t talking about how to encourage a winning mentality so they need to go
November 18th, 2018 at 8:57 pm
Lol Barber destroyed #35 several times today. Twice he run directly through him. That guy gonna be hurting all week.
The funnest part of this season besides the 2-0 mirage was watching Barber kick the tar out of the Giants today.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:58 pm
All of this turnover talk. If the defense just gets one, the Bucs probably win.
November 18th, 2018 at 8:58 pm
Barber became my favorite Buc today.
November 18th, 2018 at 9:01 pm
Joe, I too am happy Jameis lead his team to four consecutive touchdown drives today. I am not happy that he had two balls that very easily could have been intercepted, and then the hail mary he threw was easily intercepted to close out the game. He could have waited to throw that ball until the last possible play. This loss was not on Jameis. Our non defense is the real reason we suck out loud this year. QB play has been decent with yardage, but horrendous overall holding onto the ball which has been both of our qb’s problem. Our defense has one effing interception after 9 games. That is insanely bad. So many problems to count with this sorry a$$ bunch of rag tag losers. I’m more tired of losing than anyone and I still keep watching this weekly train wreck. Dirk isn’t the answer and he cannot figure out this NFL head coach thing but very few coaches can. We need to scrap his experiment and start over. Go Bucs!
November 18th, 2018 at 9:01 pm
How many times did I see DJackson “quit” on a play today?
After only one viewing of the game so far, and off the top of my head, three.
Including the Hail Mary.
I’m done with that guy.
November 18th, 2018 at 9:06 pm
Which QB we drafting? If we can get an above average QB or even a franchise QB, that would be nice. Our Avg. QBs have got to go. Winston is destined to be a journeyman like Fitz. A few games here and there to lull you into thinking they have changed, then BAM, right back to sucking.
November 18th, 2018 at 9:17 pm
6 games left of this nightmare

Hopefully Winston will not do anything to hurt his trade value, even though no other team would want him, except maybe Buffalo who continues to make bad QB decisions
November 18th, 2018 at 9:38 pm
I’ve been down on the oline, but they played really well today, both running and passing.

I’ve been pretty harsh on JW this year and rightfully so in my book. However, today’s performance by Fitz was almost as bad as what we saw from JW and maybe even more disappointing. I guess you expect someone with Fitz’s experience and Harvard education to know not to force throws in the red zone like today. I have to think Dirk and Monken are pulling their hair out watching this idiocy every Sunday.
On another note, in defense of JW, I don’t want to hear anymore about this BS about DJax hating to lose so much because his lack of effort indicates he is okay with it. That last INT by JW was actually on the money. DJax started loafing it about mid route which made JW’s throw look long. His loafing also prevented him from breaking up that pick. They weren’t likely to win regardless but that effort is more of the loser mentality we’ve come to expect from these Bucs.
November 18th, 2018 at 9:47 pm
He was only in for less than a half and he fumbled the ball on the goal line and threw a pick.
Neither of our QBs know how to protect the ball.

I wish Joe would leave this quarterback debate alone cause some of yall don’t really care about the bucs yall just hate 1 guy on the team and that’s Jamies. We need a defense and yall worry about a guy who put up 28 points. I don’t care about almost turnovers something that don’t mean nothing but to people who hate Jamies. Get over it most of yall was all in with fiz and now when every body was trying to tell yall but yall wouldn’t listen. Jets fans was laughing at yall fiz lovers and yall was saying hall of fame and fizmagic that was a joke. Lol lol lol now look . We keep Jamies this is a defensive draft not quarterback or even offens we can build our defense now let’s focus on that not quarterback please……
November 18th, 2018 at 10:08 pm
Agreed gamblero. Best performance by the offensive line all year.

Why would trade one of the most important/best players on the team?
November 18th, 2018 at 10:19 pm
Fitz did the same against cincy after Winston melted down.
Neither QB should be here next year.
Time to move on.
November 18th, 2018 at 10:21 pm
Jamies only played for one half today, and he fumbled and threw an interception. May God help us all
Four straight touchdown drives off the bench is hard to ignore, even for the anti-Jameis crowd. –Joe
You didn’t say this about dork after Cincy game.
Yes Jamie’s should be there but not because he was playing any better so none of your stats Joe that he has but we need to move forward and see what we got
November 18th, 2018 at 10:23 pm
First comment,
“four straight touchdowns off the bench is hard to egnor, even for the anti Jamie’s crowd.”
Did that include the fumble touchdown?
You could see mike Evans on the big screen saying “just throw me the ball” right after the play on the sidelines.
My point being, if the glazers can’t bring a CONSISTENT QB prospect to this team soon, these big talent WR/TE prospects might not be around for to much longer.
November 18th, 2018 at 10:26 pm
Joe – Please call out the Anti-Jameis crowd once and for all. Truly these fans carry the same mentality and pro-Team mentality as D-Jax. Trade D-Jax!
November 18th, 2018 at 10:30 pm
Too funny reading about Winston’s interception today. About 20 seconds to play and no time outs with about 50 yards to cover. Any long pass inbound and the game is over. Kinda like last week when Fitz threw that 5 yard pass at the end of the half. But hey he didn’t throw a pick. Stupidest fan base in the NFL by far.
November 18th, 2018 at 10:32 pm
The detractors of Winston have absolutely no context and are uninformed on how flawed this offensive system is at it’s very core. They lack critical observation yet strut like pigeons vehemently barking their buzzphrases. If you analyze the Bucs critically it’s very easy to see that regardless of who’s under center the offense is a high-risk/high-reward system that relies on long developing patterns down the field. Fitz and Winston are the two top quarterbacks in the NFL in terms of air yards per attempt/completion (Winston has ranked high in this category for most of his career under Koetter) which isn’t indicative of how the qb’s are playing but rather that they are constantly asked to push the ball downfield. We also utilize the running backs in the passing game among the very least in the league, which is limiting because doing so can become an extension of the running game alot of times. This effect is magnified when you also have poor pass protection on a significant amount of snaps. As well, as we saw today, regardless of whether or not NY received possession of the ball in the first half through a turnover, they marched right down the field and put up points. Once again, spotting the opposition 21 points. This again magnifies the glaring flaws in the offensive philosophy because each QB needs to play Hero ball and try to win it with every throw – which we can easily assume there we be 35 or more of. This all screams that turnovers are going to inherently occur, especially when said defense is literally the worst of all-time.
My point? Koetter should be fired. Licht should be canned. They built this team completely backwards and ignored areas that win you football games for years and Koetter consistently throws people under the bus. A VP should be hired and Bruce Arians, Jim Harbaugh, or Josh McDaniels (with some consideration to Mike McCarthy) should be lured to fix and retool the offense to better suit Jameis Winston – who should be playing in a westcoast driven system revolving around play action football, moving pockets, high-targets to slot/rb options and TEs. Get rid of Jackson and Grimes. Bring in more pass rushers and db’s. Retool the offensive line with road graders and establish a punishing running game with Peyton Barb-arian. Ronald Jones should be utilized in the mold of Kamara and given the ball in space. Gerald McCoy should be given an ultimatum to take a paycut or be traded. The brass should pursue Rex Ryan as DC and slowly transition to a true hybrid scheme and invest capital into versatile pass rushers with Lavonte and Kwon roaming the A-gaps.
There is no reason this team should be so broken. Competent vision and leadership would have developed a winner out of this team by now.
November 18th, 2018 at 10:47 pm
Actually, on second thought I would say keep Jason Licht. To be fair he has constructed a very promising core of offensive players, even if it does lack most fundamentals. Allow him to keep focus on loading the defense with the same type of young talent but with more emphasis on the front 7. Just get a real coach that has enough credibility to attract a top flight staff so the players can be developed properly and quickly.

“Stupidest fan base in the NFL by far.“
Clearly you’ve never met a Seattle fan, who didn’t know who the Boz was.
Or an Eagles fan, who didn’t know who Reggie White was
Or literally any fan of a team that hasn’t won a super bowl.
November 18th, 2018 at 10:58 pm
Bucs fan #7423 that’s funny cuz Matt Ryan had the same problem when koetter was his OC but sure of course its Winston’s fault and maybe we do need a better qb but they’d be idiots to get rid of the best one we’ve ever had before they know they found one that’s better cuz we’d all hate to see another Steve Young QB loss. Then again some of u would probably love that y’all seem to be great at chasing good players out of town for them to turn around and ball out for another team cuz that list is pretty f$@&ing long
November 18th, 2018 at 11:04 pm
54 I am sure u are a nice cat but I have to hang this on you.
That was the worst take on this blog that I have ever read by 97,000 country miles.
November 18th, 2018 at 11:05 pm
This all reminds me of the Bears rolling for years with Jay Cutler. Some games he was lights out and other games a TO machine.
But with the Bucs we have 2 QBs that don’t play exactly like Cutler but their inconsistencies seem similar. 1 week or 2 Fitz is amazing then other weeks just awful in the area of TOs. Jameis is a bit similar.
Is the other Ryan the solution or a total rebuild of the Team?
I think we put too much into bringing in High Quality Weapons on Offense and sacrificed on Defense.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:24 am
Wow man, I’m convinced. I had no idea what I was saying, you really have an argument there…
At least i’m providing reasoning for my claims. Why don’t you bring this website some substance and do the same?
November 19th, 2018 at 2:58 am
Run Jamies get away from the losers.
THis is an awful franchise with terrible fans.
Jamies will be great for another franchise.
November 19th, 2018 at 6:39 am
Hail Mary with 30 seconds left? Was that a called play? If it ended in a touchdown, manning could have driven to a score with the time remaining
(I doubt it was a called play)

BUCS fan 7423
U are TRULY INSANE! It’s obvious this has nothing todo w performance w u it’s only HATE! Uuuhhh when u r down 31-7 the other team pretty much knows u have to take some risks when u throw the ball. Had JAMEIS started today the BUCS win because FITZ lost this game w STUPID INTS that cost REAL POINTS
November 19th, 2018 at 7:09 am
THAT guy- Thank you for pointing that out, I saw it too. You can’t tell in the frame but with all the blue jerseys coming at Jameis, it made me think that Evans was wide-open in the endzone.
This is truly a bizarre fanbase! I mean credit where credit’s due. Jameis drove us up and down the field. However, this notion that he’s suddenly become a better QB leads me to believe that some of you did not watch the same game.
For those that aren’t paying attention one of our fellow posters LakeLand has been pointing this out for weeks: TURNOVERS! We lead the league in turnovers. We have swapped QBs, we have swapped playcalling, we STILL lead the league in turnovers and most of those turnovers are coming from the QB position. That’s BOTH of them!
So, before we start marching in the streets about how great Jameis did in this 1/2 of football, keep in mind that there were at least 3 more opportunities for the Giants to take the ball away. We were fortunate. Oh, and we lost. OK?! So, lets temper the enthusiasm in a losing effort.
The season is absolute toast. As a fan, I still root for my team to win, regardless of the QB. So, Jameis/Fitz, go get the job done.
November 19th, 2018 at 8:03 am
Good effort today by Jamise. Same results, a loss and lack of ball security. Our Defense can not tackle well or strip the ball out on defense. The TD to OBJ if the DB yanked his arm down on the inside of OBJ arms that ball would have popped out. OBJ great hands but with ball in his fingertips, then yank that ball out. Saw some good runs from Barber in this game. 1.5 sacks by JPP he is getting closer to double digit sacks. On to next week.
Go Bucs!
November 19th, 2018 at 8:46 am
Stunning, hArd-hitting, never before heard words from an athlete after a losing game: “I just want to win.”
Dude was lucky Evans recovered that fumble, and the Giant defenders had a case of fumblerooskie, or his performance would be judged in an entirely different way: three more turnovers in a typical Jameis Winston careless afternoon.
I don’t consider the Hail Mary INT of any consequence.
And keep in mind the Giants are almost as bad as the Bucs on defense. These teams are very similar.

Primech54,
I agree with everything you just said.
With the exception of your belief that Winston will be the answer if given a west coast offense. It would fit his style of play, I agree with that. Although in my opinion he doesn’t have the mental capacity to oversee any consistent offense.
He has personally lost more games then he has won.
His national championship was a fluke. He needs to thank the talent around him for that one(rewatch that game please).
Most of his turnovers are terrible reads, not just because “the scheme forces him to go vertical with the football”
Without a new QB this team is doomed, without a new defense this team is doomed. Without a new coaching staff……… this team is doomed.
